Honestly, one of the weirdest experiences at a spa ever. I booked a body scrub and prenatal massage. The body scrub was not great, no real pressure on my body, and they had me on my stomach most of the time with no pregnancy pillow/side laying. Halfway through the scrub, I was told to shower. I got in the shower, and the woman came into the room to deal with linens while I was showering. Then, I sat back on the pretty chilly table, and she lightly massaged the rest of my body. My feet weren’t scrubbed at all. Very nice lady, just feels a bit misleading saying “scrub” when it definitely wasn’t scrub worthy. The massage portion was done by a different woman. I will say, she was conscious of me being pregnant. However, I rubbed my eye one time (probably because my eyes had been closed during the body scrub for most of the time and I have contacts) and she whipped out her hand sanitizer and sprayed my hands. She also explained she got very sick in January and she was somewhat paranoid of getting sick. Very valid, but not necessarily what I’d like to think about (or smell- the hand sanitizer) when I’m trying to relax. When I flipped to my other side, she also sprayed my hands again. Again, very nice person and a pretty decent massage. Overall, I don’t think it was worth the almost $300 that I spent on it. The scrub wasn’t scrub like, and getting sprayed with hand sanitizer definitely was disruptive and made me feel like I was grossing her out. My sister did get a mani/pedi and said she enjoyed it, so maybe stick to that.
I would never recommend this nail salon!! I went there on Sunday, 12/15 to have my nails done. I got a gel manicure. The technician clipped part of my nail and had to glue it together. My nails didn't even hold 24 hours. The one nail broke off right away and left sharp edges. The other nails were so bendable that I couldn't even get dressed or do anything without them bending and causing a lot of pain. I called them and got a voicemail saying they were closed for 2 days and I could text, which I did. I had to go in as I got no response from the salon to my voicemail or my text. I had to go somewhere else and pay again to have them redone, and are now strong and better with another gel manicure. I went in today to get a refund and told I could not get one. They would have to redo them. I will never go there again after the pain I went through and the loss of money, nor will I recommend them.
Finding a place that does massage and nails in one building was hard but I definitely recommend this place. It was so relaxing and so clean and while my daughter had a pedicure the other one had a manicure and I had a neck and shoulder massage in an actual massage room on a massage table. There was even a shower in the room which I did not need but the whole experience was very nice. I also had my hands in paraffin wax. The whole experience was great and I highly recommend this place. I will go back again for sure. And for San Francisco on Haight street it was definitely reasonably priced.
I have been to a lot of nail places that call themselves a spa, and it ends up being your typical, rushing you out the door place. I made an appointment for a deluxe pedicure and manicure at Zen spa and didn't have much expectations. But when I tell ya'll this has been the best experience, from when I walked in and how I was greeted, never rushed. The ambiance is beyond relaxing, I almost fell asleep, the place is clean and the workers actually take their time with you not rush you out. I will 100% be coming back, Zen Day Spa can take all my money for that type of service.
I took my Sister, Mother, Niece and Sister bff here for a spa day and treated them for my Sister's Birthday and to also have a spa experience while on vacation as well. I'm so glad I chose this place. They absolutely loved the whole entire experience. All they kept talking about was Ben, Ben, Ben..the masseuse...They loved everything! Thanks ZEN for making this a very pleasant experience! Should we ever return to SFO, you'll have my business. Very professional!
Zen Day Spa truly is a "zen" experience. Make sure you call ahead and book whatever appointment you want - they are often busy and very difficult to get in day-of. Their facilities and staff are very professional. I was super happy with my eyebrow wax for $15 - kind of on the pricier side, but it was worth it. I'd highly recommend going here if you're looking for a more luxurious experience instead of a quick in and out.
I walked in on a Saturday afternoon and asked about the $25 dollar manicure with regular polish. There are a few bubbles in the polish and when I went to pay for my service, they tried up charging me $5 because “that kind lasts longer” is what I was told. There was no posting of this regular nail lacquer being extra. I don’t appreciate the surprise up charge and I can’t imagine other clients would either. 2 stars.
I spent a lovely and luxurious afternoon here. The exterior is unassuming, but the tasteful decor and peaceful ambiance made it feel like a super high-end spa. The prices are extremely reasonable. I got a mani-pedi, but they offer massage, body scrubs, waxing, and facial services too. Bonus points for the awesome candy and beverage station. FYI, you can tip with credit card, but the employees prefer cash tips.
The venue is relaxing with soft music playing while they work their magic. The diamond microdermabrasion facial treatment is top-notch! I noticed an incredible difference in my complexion it was younger, softer, healthy. If you are looking to get your 1st facial treatment, Zen Day Spa will take care of you.
Zen Day Spa gave the best nail technique on my mother's gel mani today! The nail tech clearly has an eye for detail and was very careful, gentle, and did her nails perfectly, which is not something I ever get to say. So needless to say, my mother is very pleased. Would definitely go back again.
This place was nice, I was able to text and they responded quickly, even though I was late for my appointment they still took me in, I felt so calm and peaceful during my massage and my facial. The spa was clean and the staff was nice. Only thing don't like u have to find parking.
Madeline's deep-tissue massage... ❤❤❤❤❤ I nearly fell asleep on the massage table by the end. I get a lot of "deep-tissue" massages that just end up being more expensive swedish massages, but Madeline somehow kept up deep pressure for the entire 90 minutes. She's superhuman.
I got the Gel-X manicure with french tips. They really take their time to make sure the design and style are exactly what you want. Prices are reasonable compared to other places around the area. You can use venmo to pay and tip, which is very convenient!
The ladies there are so nice and they're always really professional. I love the gel nails that they do on me and I always feel so relaxed coming home after getting my nails done. Thank you for your services …
Tracy is excellent. Prices are good, place is clean and peaceful. Usually get my gel manicure and regular pedicure on a monthly basis, but have heard great things about their massages as well.
I love this place, been coming for years and it is really just a great salon. perfect place to give yourself a little pampering.
Great mani pedis - really well priced but in a more upscale environment. Have also gotten and enjoyed massages and facials.
Tracy and her team always do an amazing job, love her designs and the environment is comfortable and inviting.
the best mini Spa in the whole Bay Area! Super super clean. Kind staff! Very attentive. I love this place.
Always friendly staff and do a great relaxing pedicure. Best thorough bikini wax I’ve had in the city.
Amazing pedicure!!! I was smiling when I left will try a facial next...I LOVE this place! …
Lovely staff, clean comfortable facilities, reasonable prices
Would highly recommend the mineral salt wrap
