Its a very pretty and attractive cafe on the corner of the shoplots. And the corner is fully utilised and beautifully landscaped. There is a lovely garden outside the big windows. There is a large selection of artisanal pastries at the counter. And also a brunch menu with various savoury offerings with sourdough bread. We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and they recommended a mushroom toast too. Food took a long time to arrive tho - they were completely packed full to capacity, and it looked like only a small team working. So please be patient with them! The food portions were enormous. My grilled cheese sandwich was huge, and had a generous portion of cheese inside. The mushroom toast had thick, meaty chunks of mushrooms piled up on the sourdough toast with lots of thick gravy. However sad to say the food was both quite bland and actually really needed salt. Having some salt/pepper shakers on the table would've been a very easy fix to this problem - please consider this tiny little amendmend! The sourdough toasts were thick and generous, but the downside of that was the crusts were also very thick, tough and chewy. The salad is delicious though - very lovely orange citrusy spinach and rocket salad as a side dish.

DouDou Bake PJ: A Croissant Lover's Paradise. Rating: ★★★★★ DouDou Bake in PJ is a hidden gem for croissant aficionados, where each bite takes you on a journey of unparalleled flavor and texture. During my recent visit, I had the pleasure of indulging in croissants that were truly out of this world. The croissants at DouDou Bake are nothing short of top-class. They achieve the perfect balance of a crunchy, golden exterior and a soft, flaky interior that simply melts in your mouth. It's evident that great care and expertise go into crafting these heavenly pastries. One standout item that caught my attention was the pesto pastry. It's a testament to quality ingredients, with a rich and vibrant pesto sauce that enlivens your taste buds. Freshly roasted pine nuts add a delightful crunch, elevating this pastry to an art form. Equally impressive is the pecan roasted almond pastry. It exudes a wonderful nuttiness, with the perfect combination of pecans and almonds. The pastry is a testament to DouDou Bake's commitment to using high-quality ingredients that shine through in every bite. To complement these delectable pastries, DouDou Bake serves coffee that is on point. Whether you prefer it black, with milk, or as an espresso, their coffee is sure to satisfy even the most discerning coffee enthusiasts. In summary, DouDou Bake in PJ is a paradise for croissant lovers. With croissants that boast a perfect balance of crunch and flakiness, along with pastries that showcase quality ingredients, and coffee that hits the mark, it's a must-visit for those who appreciate the art of baking. Note: This review reflects my personal experience, and your own visit to DouDou Bake may lead to different observations and conclusions.

This is a review compilation based on my different visits to doudoubake. First impressions, you won’t able to find the place if this is your first time and never heard/seen this place in photos before. I thought it was close or move the first time I’m there. That said, this hidden cafe tucked in a corner of a shop lot in between housing area, straight away you’ll be transported to a Japanese zen style garden by the entrance to the cafe. The cafe, which can be really pack, has a Scandinavian vibe and furnishing if you notice the designs. The food, without a doubt, this cafe does serve one of the best pastries in Klang Valley, although their price is on the higher side. Coffee isn’t bad here as well, although I would had to remind myself to order something that’s lactose free. I like the idea behind making some of the item seasonal so it’s different every time we visit. This place also well known of its sourdough too. All in all, I enjoy the place although service here isn’t consistent. Sometimes you get smiles all over, sometimes you’ll get judgy eyes, sometimes you’ll get arrogant faces. Nonetheless, for the fact that I’ve been coming back for more, means it just doesn’t bother me that much. By putting this review here, I hope some of them who read it will be aware of their attitude at times, after all, they look like young teenagers. :)

Penang kawan introduce this place to me Belanja me croissant & sausage roll Serving portions reasonable, taste simple & good with simple presentation make me I am not Gila Kopi, kopi is good enough. I feel Long Black Kopi have room to improve with better kopi beans 4.5⭐ The only comment knife is good for croissant & pastry, but bread knife or steak knife better to cut sourdough thick & tough skin. Service typical of cafe, order through counter , waiting time not long maybe I am early. 3.5⭐ Atmosphere from the shop front with small garden feel, through the glass door within steel walls kind of rustic feel & to marble top table. Cleanliness But side table with side cushions seating, not so suitable for children, table & seats a bit far. For me inside not noisy like some others new cafe 4⭐

This corner lot bakery/cafe in a small commercial enclave in SS4 is justly popular for its serene setting (at least when not crowded) as for its bakes. For starters, you might just miss it if you've never been there - the doorless front gives nothing away, other than the queue of expectant patrons. You enter from the side, by walking through a serene garden, itself is a rarity. Banks of large windows in the industrial-looking space overlooking the greenery preserve this feeling of being transported somewhere else. All this would be meaningless if the food wasn't up to standard, but from my experiences, it was lovely. It's pricey, but the patisserie, lined up attractively for your visual convenience, are seriously good (try the mushroom pastry), and likewise the coffee. Service can be a tad impersonal. Doudou Bakes has stiff competition from the plethora of great cafes in KL, but it's notable for its unique, serene location and great baking.

  • Alan Gan

Went on a weekend, and there was a long queue. The normal wait for weekends is around 30minutes. I had heard previously that the weekdays has shorter queues. The interior is simple and nice. There is limited seating and are not catered for large groups. We tried the black coffee, and the latte. We paired that with a roasted macha tart. The black coffee is the Ethiopian single origin coffee. The coffee has a fragrant fruity taste. The latte, which I believe is the Panama single origin, is also good. The roasted macha tart is very good. Presentation wise it looks beautiful. Its crust is crispy and the filling is smooth and flavourful. A good place for a cuppa and desserts, though it may be a little costlier than others.

Love the hidden cafe concept. It took us a while to reconfirm the place the first time entering this place. Things I love: 1. Japanese vibe concept (an interesting scenic garden decoration with Japanese pottery cookware) 2. The variety of the pastry and drinks (quite a good option to choose from) 3. Love all the taste of pastry I tried (all on point) 4. Strawberry shortcake deserves a separate mention! (I am not a fan of strawberry but the taste is next level - sweet and sour and light but not overwhelming) 5. Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. 6. Reasonable priced items. 7. Love the way they randomly put sourdough as a decorative things at the random corner of the shop. Thing(s) for improvements: 1. Probably a signage of the shop name on the main area facing the road - easy for identification for first timers.

  • Amy T

If you come from the main road facing the shop, you might not be able to find this cafe as there's no signage & the entrance is by the side of the building facing Arvore Residence. Parking can be a challenge, but noticed that many parked by the side of the road near to Avore Residence. Surprisingly, quite a crowd even on a weekday - and only got to know that they are one of the "hype"-cafe. Had DouDou Big Breakfast, Shashuka, Pain Au Chocolat, and 2 Flat White. Food is average, and pain au chocolate is good except personally I find they are overpriced.

Literally no signboard outside, after navigation told me that I arrived at my destination but I still wondering where the cafe hiding LOL. quite limited space inside, and there are few table and seats that not suitable people having food tho you might need to bend over. Seat beside the window there will be a instaworthy spot. Could have enough sunlight + clear big mirror, but believe me you won’t stay for too long… it’s like sunbathing… but maybe your food can remain warm there . pastries not bad, but sourdough not my thing price will above average, but for me deserve a try lah. *my friend got diarrhea after our brunch, not sure izit the flies problem that I saw a lot people mentioned.

  • Sam Yap

Wanted to dine in. The que is long. The place is neat with a view. The seating are close to each other and can be quite noisy when packed. Better go for take away. Good variety of specialty coffee and great pastry. The sourdough croissant is light and flaky. The best one I had. In my opinion, it is better than the one at wild yeast even though it is still very good. Can't say the same for croquet madame and but liked the lemon tart. The cookies are great. Not too sweet. More cafes serving sourdough bread and pastry. It is better and healthier choice of gluten. A taste that can be developed and loving sourdough. Give a try

  • Carrie y

Very good service and great interior but shop was packed and we sat at the corner windows since there was not much space . Had the sourdough and eggs which I think was pricey ! I think sourdough was average. Scrambled eggs were decent but I wish they gave some butter on the side for the bread which was very dry to me. My friend got the same thing with poached eggs. They served the eggs in a bowl and they looked like half boiled eggs from a Kopitiam instead . I personally don’t understand the hype. Unfortunately didn’t have any of the pastries . I think my rating would be better if I had gone for that instead .

  • Felicia

We came here twice and both times are excellent. The place is always busy and has a waiting time. We came at about 9-9.30am and have to wait for approximately 20mins. The pastries are flakey and not too sweet. The dou dou breakfast was okay and nothing too special. I also find their sourdough bread are delicious too. The shop also has a minimalistic interior which I really like. Overall, it is a nice place with great food but prices are high. The average price of a pastry will be around RM16. The shop is located at the corner and doesn’t have a easy to spot signboard so it is easy to miss.

  • Michelle ho

Food is nice, as expected from other reviews that it’s overpriced.Pastries are fresh and flaky, not too sweet. However I believe the basic hygiene can be better… the pastries are displayed in open area while everyone is talking across the food to take order and pick their pastries. You can imagine the amount of saliva that will potentially land on your food that will be serve to you later. Secondly, the workers do not have mask on and hair tied up while working and taking order as well which is a very basic hygiene in food and beverages industry. Overall 8/10 for food but 4/10 for hygiene

  • Hanson Wong

The pastry, sourdough, coffee and environment are very nice. The tableware they used for serving the food are quite pretty. I didn’t expect it was crowded even on weekday (Friday) when I visit, but still have some empty seats Might have a long queue if it’s weekend. I picked a seat facing the yard, but it’s relatively warm and comes with a nice view! Suggest to come early if you want to pick the seat facing the yard. Overall, I would rate it at 4.5 star, where 0.5 star due to the price of food is slightly on the high side, but understandable due to inflation.

  • Siew Ling L

Love the ambience, friendly staffs too~ Ordered their sourdough croissant (RM10), mixed fruits danish (RM16) and a cup of cappuccino (RM14?) Absolutely love their danish! Crispy layers, with bit of icing sugar on top, and fresh & sweet blueberries & strawberries, perfect! Will definitely ordered it again when i come. For the croissant, it isn’t as buttery as I thought it would be, not sure is it because of it being a sourdough rather than normal one. Not a fan of it. But it is flaky anyway Went on a Tues afternoon around 2pm and it has plenty of seats inside.

I cane to buy pastry as gift for my friends. Everything was nice, toilet, atmosphere, garden.... Only is the taste of pastry, dk whether is it becuz we ate it like 12 hr after the purchase, it didn't taste like it's price

Overrated, overhyped. Pastry taste is just ok, quite high price for the quality. Iced chocolate is too acidic with no taste, quality did not meet the most expensive ice chocolate in town. No wifi, even though mobile network was weak. No roof/ceilings on the path to toilet, nor no umbrella offered at the entrance, customers cannot go to toilet if not having umbrella or rain jacket. Did not feel any warm hospitality nor welcomed customer service, cold impression, while many others I know have great hospitality. Good points - nice decor, clean, easier to park.

  • Chris Yanxin

Went there around 10am. The shop is almost half full. ( Don't count the external sitting under the hot sun). The crowd is crazy during lunch time who came for their buns. Sitting is limited and I find that tables of the same height with the chair is quite difficult to dine in ( purely my opinion). The food is quite nice but I do agree with some others that the price is on the higher end. However, I could only say that I love the bread with the egg in the middle. The texture is so good. Egg on the top with ham and sauteed onion.

  • Swee Lin

I'm usually quite skeptical about crowded places (since other comments mentioned it), however, I was pleasantly surprised by the food. It's not bad for a big hearty meal. The sourdough is great! I love the grapefruit the most. I like how they manage to make the taste of the grapefruit "bearable" by caramelizing it with honey/maple syrup (usually it’s sour and tart, or tasteless )#bestgrapefruiteva Note: I went quite early, hence no queue. Plus it’s a weekday :)

  • Michelle Lim

The ambiance is nice. If you are first time come to this cafe, might get lost. Because their signage is not there. I ordered their latte and Morning Citrus Bun. Personally I feel is overrated and the combo was offered by the staff, because I’m looking for a pastry that match with the coffee but it turns out not that nice. Wanted to try their best seller sourdough croissant, but it’s RM14 for one. So I decided not to try it out first. Maybe I’ll come again for dine in next time.

DouDoubake is worthy of the hype it's received. The waiting time is not as long as it used to be. The menu is good, there is variety and the dishes are complement each other. A thoughtful menu. The pastries are well-made. The sourdough products are really good. And the sausage ... so tasty. It would be hard to find better scrambled eggs anywhere else. The see-through into the cafe's work area is well designed. Kept us entertained through our visit. Well done and thank you.

Was searching for breakfast spot, and just happened that it appeared on my list and I had a good impression when I was here for the first time few months back. So I’m back for the second with my friends, three of us enjoyed it a lot. I had a Cubana Sandwich, really really good. Price is above average I would say, can’t afford to come everyday but whenever you’re here, it’s a pretty good morning trust me. I like their Banana Muffin too :)

  • Delia Teo

Arrived around 11am on a Saturday - there was no queue and there were still seats by the glass panel looking out to the garden. Service was really good. Staff were attentive before things got busy. Food - ordered the doudou breakfast. Taste was ok but doesn’t warrant the steep price. Would suggest to skip straight to their pastries instead. Their chocolate drinks was made using dark chocolate so it’s on the more bitter side of things.

  • Meiji

Nice bakery with amazing pastries and good coffee. We ordered 1) the dou dou breakfast, 2) bread n butter, 3) grilled cheese sandwich, and 4) lotus and sea salt bun. Everything tasted amazing! We went on a weekend and had to wait for around 20 minutes. Try to recommend for the window seats if possible. The price here is on a higher side but I would say that it is worth it, especially if you love sourdough.

Would have given 2 stars if not because of the ambience. The design of this place lived up to its hype but nothing else. Food is not bad but not good either, pastries are okay but the big breakfast we had was utter disappointing. Very basic food served like something anyone can make at home. For me it just doesn’t justify the high price they are charging

  • MarcusWong

First of all, the pastries they serve are awesome! Freshly baked, various selections. Coffees are amazing. Had the cold brew from Kenya, delicious with flora note and balance. Will come again to try the V60. The only down side is the long wait. Had to wait for thirty minutes because of long waiting list. But good things require patient. Thumbs up!

  • Yong

The interior of the establishment is comfortable and inviting. The food is decent, but lacks any outstanding or exceptional qualities. The prices are somewhat steep. Our visit on a weekday at 4pm did not involve waiting in a line. The service at the cashier was underwhelming. He appears to be impatient for you to finish placing your order.

  • j' y

Prices are on the higher side, coffee 15+, pastries 11-16, pain au chocolate was 15 , croque monsieur 16. Pain au was nice and crispy flaky not buttery maybe due to sourdough variant as there is definitely hint of sour. The croque monsieur is much more recommended as there's onion, chicken ham slice underneath the egg. Coffee was nice

  • Amal Zulkifar

Food and drinks are of high quality, even though price is on the high side The avocado toast is my favourite (ordered with a side of oyster king mushroom) They currently serve a variety of Christmas desserts - we had the log cake and yuzu eclair. Both very delicious! Coffee is one of the best in this area and service is great too

  • Aisyah Razihan

The pastry is pretty good, although the sourdough is slightly hard to chew. Coffee is decent. They have an insta worthy outside landscape, provided that if you’re completely fine with having the patron sitting by the window watch you taking photos. It can get busy too even in the early morning so be prepared to wait.

  • T F

Love the outdoor garden and the interior! Most of all the breakfast and wide range of pastries they have. The sourdough croissant is exceptionally flaky and buttery. Tried out the breakfast and a few other savoury pastries and they were superb. Typically you’ll have to queue for a table but it is definitely worth it.

  • Alowe

I'm not a fan of the cuban sandwich , it was greasy and super hard to bite into . The cinnamon bun lacked flavor . Maybe I chose the wrong items to try . Tried their croissant at another cafe where they diatribute to it. It was nice . Decor was nice, but the chairs were not comfy, and it was quite echo-ey .

  • YMing

Awesome place for a douse of coffee with pastries. Great ambience for a small group get together and a cuppa. Loved the Cakes selection and the pastries. They also served savoury food, however only before 2pm. Main entrance is by the side at the walkway in the side garden, no visible signage in the front.

  • Jackie (CJ)

Walked in and nobody entertained me until I get seated by myself and the waiter told me to go out and wait. I know I was alone and there’s a single seat available for me. The croissant is mediocre and doesn’t meet my expectations. However, things are still decent but I won’t come back for a second time.

  • shermaine m

Overrated! Food was decent, pastries were okay. Kouign amann was the best compared to the rest? The kiwi pastry wasn’t for my taste; extremely sour. Big breakfast was normal. Atmosphere was really nice Food: 5/10 Service: 3/10 inattentive Atmosphere: 9/10 Price 6/10 Parking was ok try ur luck :)

  • sim huiwei

Love the very chill ambience here, good coffee & pastry (strawberry strudel is the highlight), like the scramble egg too (portion is big!), staffs are all friendly & helpful. They put a lot heart into details, from coffee cup to hand wash, and even the painting in the washroom (so cute).

  • Jonathan Filmer

One of the best cafes, coffee and baked items in the world. Rustic, hipster, super comfortable. Its in a neighborhood that brings back memories of old. It is unexpectedly and unassuming as a little shop. Go in and see for yourself. You may be pleasantly surprised.

  • Ben

11/10 for their bakes at the counter - first timers must definitely have the sourdough croissant and the heirloom tomato danish. Flaky, fragrant, and the perfect pairing with ricotta. We also had the shashouka and oat lattes but these left much to be desired.

  • Yvonne Ting Yee Voon

The service is very fast and efficient. Crowded during weekends and public holiday. Nice place to chill and enjoy coffee or tea. The Avocado Toast and Tomato Danish is good. Price is on the higher side. If you are into cafe hopping, you should consider this.
