First of all let’s start with the positives Staff - good we’re nice Manager- sympathetic and look concerned Dentist (Carlos) ?!!! Here goes....... I might run out of words on how many I have! I arrived at Mydentist about a year ago with my veneer at the front came off after it’s been in for roughly 14 years Carlos put it back on for me which was no problem after 2 weeks it came off again I went back again he put it back on again .... This is where my problems started over the coming months I’ve been back to the dentist too many times now I’ve lost count not to mention my confidence and money they gladly took Carlos told me I needed a new veneer which I did and paid for big mistake it was worse than my original it felt too big and rough and could feel a dent in it all of which I told him about and he did nothing I go back again as it’s came out again!!! This time I see someone else a woman dentist told her about the problem she shaved more off the tooth and said it is a bit long (Carlos that day was off sick) but got told I would have to pay to be seen because Carlos was my dentist I was desperate I agreed to pay although not happy about it the work got done and lasted a couple of months and it came off again in returning to have my new veneer put on again I asked to speak to the manager can’t remember her name she was sympathetic to my cause and looked concerned and told me if I wanted a better product and materials to go private or maybe have a crown fitted I said this has cost me a lot of money now to go private and pay more and being told it’s better materials going private ( why didn’t my dentist tell me this ) and is this the case?.... In between all of this I had asked to change my dentist which she knew about and assured me that Carlos was a good dentist I did say I didn’t want Carlos to feel bad she got up and said I’ll have a word with him and see if we can use a different material I eventually went in to have it put in but I got the sense Carlos was annoyed with me he never said much but never even bothered to take the old cement off my tooth and just stuck the veneer in over the top and proceeded to tell me that I have to clean them more etc at this point his voice was “As a matter of fact!!!”!!!! The chair comes up I sat there looked around he had his back turned to me I paused for 10 seconds or more and politely said is that me he said YES! not even looking at me. As it stands now it’s been out again I’ve stuck it in with Wilkos glue and have found another dentist and going private wish me luck! I wonder if Mydentist would offer me a refund? I don’t think so somehow after a year of hell with time off work the petrol the money but most importantly my confidence it’s been a horrible experience I will not be back. Carlos you need more training in my opinion 1 for your craft and 2 on patient care.
After having tooth ache for a week I managed to get an urgent appt today and told the lady it was because I had bad tooth ache . As soon as I went in to see the dentist i felt rushed , uncared for as a patient and completely put off stepping foot back in there . I explained where my tooth ache was ( feeling pain both upper and Lower ) and before I could finish explaining got told “ I won’t be dealing with your pain today as we are chokka out there “! So firstly why book me in knowing I had tooth ache if you don’t have time to deal with it ? After rushed xrays and absolutely no time to ask anything I got told their were no signs of a problem but as i had pain could either have it removed or root canal etc ... before i even had time to think she wanted a decision . I said I was reluctant to have missing teeth to which I was told I didn’t have any others missing ( which is scary as I then had to tell the dentist I actually have already had one removed before ) and that as I paid it Would also be cheaper for removal as if I go for the canal i would need several visits - this felt completely like they couldn’t even fit me in or be bothered to do a root canal etc and was followed with “ I could fit you in on Monday for an extraction “ As a registered nurse I appreciate the challenges faced in today’s fast paced , time limited nhs however their is absolutely no way I would ever treat a patient like this , you never ever make them feel like they just need to make a decision in five seconds flat as your too busy and disinterested to care ! This is exactly how I felt today needless to say I will not be returning for any treatment there and will find all alternative practice which may actually see patient satisfaction as more important than cramming in far too many patients that you can’t even treat. On the way out they even gave me my receipt with a completely different patients personal details on ! Makes you wonder if it was her teeth they were referring to on the computer when they said I had a full set of teeth !
AVOID! They don't care and you are lied to! My Husband has been in excruciating pain since Tuesday morning (now Saturday) he made an appointment for Wednesday at 9:10am, he received a call that morning saying the Dentist wouldn't be in until 9:30am so his appointment was moved to 1:30pm. My Husband came out of work and he was made to wait outside for 15 minutes (a note on the door stating that all staff, including the receptionist, were on their lunch together) Ridiculous, a dental practice where all staff lunch together, imagine if that happened at your local supermarket. My Husband was told he had an infection and given antibiotics to take, the Dentist said that he should notice a difference straight away, if not then ring on the Thursday to get an appointment for that day or Friday to have a root canal done instead, so he doesn't build up a resistance to the antibiotics. The pain got worse, he rung on Thursday and was told by the rude receptionist that the Dentist was on holiday and there were no appointments until after Christmas, he was lied to and when he explained how much pain he was in and he was willing to come out of work and sit and wait he was just told "well there's no appointments" He has now had to book an appointment for Christmas eve at a private Dentist in the hopes of having the tooth extracted, however the pain is in his jaw now and from his wisdom tooth so that may not happen, so he will be left in pain over Christmas and new year while being out of pocket. Infuriating when the Dentist could have done something there and then knowing full well he wouldn't even be in. Hope you all have a lovely Christmas you uncaring, lying and unprofessional lot!
Absolutely disgusting behaviour from receptionist. I phone in March 2020 due to pain in tooth. As at the time they couldn’t see anyone they stated I was on THEIR books so they would advise to use temporary fillings. I couldn’t find any anywhere so they provided some for me again because I was REGISTERED. I have waited to make an appointment after caring for my mum on end of life. Now apparently I’m not Registered and therefore have to go on a waiting list!!!!!!!!!!!!! Apparently if you don’t use this denial surgery within a time limit you are surplus to requirements and treated like a criminal. As I explained my circumstances with my mum the receptionist hung up. Never known such unprofessionalism in my life. Poor service. And will be now taking this further
So far I've had very decent service. Phonelines are very easy to get through, reception staff and dentists very professional and helpful and very considerate if you have additional illnesses and complications. I recently had an abcess and rang in the morning desperate for an emergency appointment and was seen 4 hours later. They managed to reduce the pain and booked me in for two weeks time for further treatment. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. Only downside I could see is that as they are quite a small practice they may not be able to take in large quantities of patients. So if you get in with them, keep hold of them.
I've been coming here for a number of years now. These guys were able to help me with my fear of coming to the dentist. More recently the female dentist and hygienist are absolutely amazing. They care and make you feel so very relaxed. I hate having my teeth cleaned, the sound and the sensation are unbearable but the hygienist there is just amazing. She is so gentle and takes her time to do an amazing job and I come out feeling so much better than I did when I arrived. Wouldnt go anywhere else and I have always recieved the best care and service.
I have had to hang up and do forego my phonecall as whoever Linda is who answers the phone quite frankly, is very ignorant. She interrupted me before I was finished speaking asking for my date of birth. At this point, I literally said could I please explain the reason for my call at which she replied, well it's easier if I have your date of birth. Bad attitude and determined to be right, with appalling listening skills, but, had she listened, then she would have realised that I was calling with a question and my date of birth was irrelevant.
Stay away this is the worst dentist I have known. Dentist was rude and didn't know much I ended up with a bad infected jaw due to wrong injection place my wife also has had a bad experience snapped her tooth and sent her home with no antibiotics or painkillers my wife had to go to the hospital for them to say she had a very bad infection and told her to report them so just a heads up if your thinking of going there STAY CLEAR
Waiting patiently for my first appointment next month in November. My telephone booking experience was very positive and welcoming - Lyn the receptionist was very helpful and explained the whole process to me in a manner of professionalism with a caring attitude. Fingers crossed my new dentist delivers the same kindness as the receptionist provided to me at the time of my appointment booking. :)
I would like to express my gratitude and admiration for the team at Halton. I had a very vulnerable client come in who hadn't visited a dentist in over 35 years. He was petrified but the team bent over backwards to get him seen for an emergency appointment and did all they could to help him relax. A special thanks to Carrie for going above and beyond. We cannot thank you enough. All the best x
I was very satisfied with my treatment from Doctor Jand on Tuesday. I was quite anxious beforehand however Doctor Jand really put me at ease, explained what the different options were for my treatment. I left feeling I had received excellent Dental Care.Friendly and professional - Best of all sorted my teeth! …
Absolutely shocking since Covid. Not seen a dentist since May last year. Had an appointment for December 2020 which was cancelled. Didn't hear anything else so I rang them in April to be given an appointment on 27th September. Received a text yesterday to say it's cancelled and moved to 13th December ♀️ …
Front desk member of staff “on the crutch” seriously lacks customer service, her attitude is diabolical letting the rest of the team down. Requires immediate basic training at the very least no respect, collaboration, decorum or professional civility. Absolutely horrid!
Trying to reach the practice for days, but I either get the message "Our practice is currently closed" when it shouldn't be or I hold and wait for at least 10 minutes listening to "You're caller number 1" and then it changes to the first message.
Very rude receptionist put the phone down on me repeatedly this is the state of the nhs ladies and gentlemen I'll be going private from now on no wonder the health services is in disarray when clowns like this are on the frontline
couldn't book for a routine check for whole of my family in the last 2 years !! receptionist always says they have only one dentist working for them in the last 2 years , what a ridiculous management and service are they
My dentist in crossgates is lovely. All the staff are caring and helpful. I am always made to feel comfortable and relaxed. They always explain what they are going to do and I am always happy after having my treatment.
Always a good experience. The receptionists are friendly and professional, the dentists (whichever I see) do a great job and explain everything and the hygienist is fab, always friendly and helpful.
Very good the new lady Alison I think and her assistant the best dentist I've ever had treatments from and I'm 66 so that tells you alot 2 fillings no pain marvellous thank you
Had an emergency visits yesterday. Saw Carlos. He made me feel very relaxed and explained everything before he did it. Very happy with the outcome.
Everything explained, choices given as to different treatment to replace teeth. Prices given at time. Given time to chose. Caring and supportive.
I normally don't like going to the dentist, but I was pleasantly surprised with this practice . Friendly and professional. Very good visit.
Beware you will always pay the most expensive treatment they can charge. They will never do what is just need just to make more money.
Great receptionists, very friendly. As well as that they have great dentists who work there such as Chris Jia. Thanks a lot.
Excellent customer relations. FRIENDLY ADVICE WHEN Needed. Always try to resolve difficult problems when they arise.
Brilliant service fitted my daughter in same day, lovely staff and very clean and bright surgeries would recommend them .
