@home has always been one of my favourite stores, they always have new trendy stock. Everything they sell frome Kitchen utensils to the furniture etc when you buy it- gives your home a 'modern facelift'. I was so excited to see the 'Instant Vortex Air Fryer advertised online. I went to the Cavendish store to purchase one. When I walked into the store, I saw the Airfryer advertised on the display. When I approached the sales lady to enquire the price and if they had stock - she said no, they never got any. I then enquired why they advertising if they didn't get stock and she said they promoting it. I then insisted that must check availability at other branches. She went and told me 2 or 3 branches had 1 each. When I asked her to arrange for the item to be delivered to Cavendish she said it wasn't possible. I am deeply disappointed in the poor service from this lady. I explained to her that I had no transport at the moment and would appreciate if she could help but she just refused. I am really disappointed that an item has been marketed , yet there was no stock available - I especially went there to purchase the item. Also the lack of interest to help a customer is disappointing. In future I will rather purchase online!
Ordered a couch on Mon 28 Aug. On Thursday it arrived and it was the incorrect colour, even after going in store to show them exactly what we wanted. Thursday we called the store to make them aware of the problem. Friday morning, called again to ask for an update, the store said that it would all be sorted that day. More than 10 phone calls later and only 1 call back it was not sorted, they hadn’t even used the day to check that it was even in stock. No resolution was made other than they would reorder the couch. But why was this not done on the day the incorrect colour arrived or perhaps even the next morning? (They only reordered the couch at 16:15) It’s now Monday 4 Sept, more phone calls later and no response on what’s happening with the new order that was supposedly placed. We were promised a call back but we have yet to receive an order confirmation call or email. Absolutely appalling service. No remorse for a mistake made on their end and if you want to try get answers you have to call them. Has my couch even be reordered? Is it on the way to Cape Town? Who knows.
The shop assistants were quite prejudice. I walked in and waited in the que and they went on to help a person of a fairer skin tone even when I had been waiting in the que. I mentioned it to the assailant and he dismissed me and continued to help the lady who cut the que. I mentioned it to the other assistant and she also tbrushed it off. I asked for the manager who similarly pretended her assistant was in the right even though she mentioned how aloof and problematic the whole incident was. You see this happens a lot in stores in Cape Town and it's completely unacceptable. It's hurts even more because there is a level of denialism from the people involved in the incident, even when reported to management you are made to feel like you are not important enough for them to treat you with dignity.
This store has the most fantastic service we have had anywhere. They recently replaced a couch of ours due to a manufacturing fault and we were amazed by their willingness to sort the problem out. From the store assistants to the manager and even the staff who delivered our couch, the service was incredibly efficient, polite and friendly. It is an absolute pleasure to shop in this store and we will continue to do so. Their commitment and attitude would be hard to beat. We also visited the Canal Walk store recently and found their service absolutely wonderful too. Well done to @Home. It is rare to find a shop today where one feels so welcome and well served.
I went to look at furniture for a home office at the Cavendish branch of @Home where I discussed the different possibilities with a male serving assistant, when a young lady approached him to ask if somebody could help her. Mid sentence he left me to look after her. No calling for another person to assist or an 'excuse me please' - I was just left stone cold. I waited for a while to give him time to refer her, but when I saw that that was not going to happen, I just got up and left and I doubt that he even noticed it. It was an experience that left me very weary to go back. Obviously he doesn't care too much for the commission, as I was about to buy.
Purchased furniture from this store service was good to begin with, post sales treatment was another story from delayed responses to no responses at all, my account has still not been credited, store only has one teller at a time that can barely cope at times. Store lacks efficiency and energy something is wrong there, staff lack motivation and drive increases perhaps are in order!! Before going to this store meditate so you are calm as it requires a lot of patience. Had no mangers on duty to sort out my dilemma perhaps try a different branch. Very unprofessional for a franchise like @home hope not all branches are the same...
Years ago, when I was very poor, I bought myself their "cotton" room scent as a gift yo make myself feel more human. I reasoned I could buy the refills as mini gifts and somehow keep the gloom away. Over all those years in all their stores, they never stock the refills. all the others are there, the ugly scents in the same line, lying to people by implying that the cotton sold out. It didn't and it depresses me and everyone who ever bought this, tainting the entire store. Now I have a comfortable life but I never buy from @home because just walking in reminds me of that futile attempt at hope
I had a bit of a difficult exchange and the manager was very helpful. The staff were all friendly and patient while I was looking for items to exchange for. I felt welcome in the store and not like everyone was just there because they had to be. It's customer treatment like this that makes people want to come back again and again.
Wow such a rude rude person called TARYN there. Bad communication skills and too much of an attitude even when she realised she was wrong and her managed emphasized to her she still had a sick attitude. Very nice store which i am a fan ogf but dont think i can go back to that store. Manager to very nice though.
Best store to go to/deal with if you want your time wasted and experience abhorrent customer service. Also staff don’t even know their stock, whenever you call about a product enquiry, it’s always ‘no stock’ but go the same day to the store and you see it in abundance. Third time is a charm I suppose
to get a good service here i just make sure i go to one person, Nazreen. shes so helpful and friendly. i always try to get that one person with a good personality wherever i go. the shop is always neat and you can easily find what you looking for. shopping here is always fun for me
Whenever you try to call it just days number does not exist. Very unprofessional! Don't want to have to drive all the way for one question. Tygervalley and canal walks numbers don't even ring, and they NEVER read emails, so can't get hold of them that way either.
0 staff available today on the floor. Eventually asked at the till, but 10 min later still waiting. Get more staff, not smart at all. This is not the first time so I can't imagine how much revenue you lose per day. Guess I'll buy a 20k couch elsewhere.
Arrived here in a hurry just before the store closed. Phoned prior for direction, and the gentleman on the was helpful and friendly, he even recognized me by my voice at my arrival. The staff was helpful and I got what I needed within 10 minutes
I visited the shop for the third time yesterday. During all these visits, I had a bad experience. The service was bad.The wait was too long. There was no sense of urgency at all.I was very disappointed and I doubt if I will visit the shop again
Absolutely could blow the budget. Friendliest and most helpful staff... rest of CT retail & service industry should go here for training!
I loved the store. Service was great and the product was abundant. I felt very welcome. I definitely will return.
If you trying to save money dont walk into this store because you’ll want to buy everything. I love this store
Some lovely things but over priced seeing as I could get similar items for half the price
If you need any help, ask for X. Best customer service I've received in a while.
