Dear Josh I felt bad until I read all of the other reviews and see this place has a reputation... Terrible. I understand if this gas station doesn't have Self service. And maybe that's what upset Josh. If that was the true issue he could have politely said they didn't have Self serve and he would do it, instead he decided today was a good day to yell, threaten, and belittle a customer. Story time: I had been trying to get my card to work, even with following the directions my credit card had that activate this card residue on it still.... Josh came up, didn't say hello or anything just starts asking questions. "How much are you spending, are you putting the card in correct"...at one point he tells me "you're not following the directions" and I ask him to please let me be. It wasn't a lack of following directions, it was my card. Well he got really mad when I asked him to step back, I had used my debit card and at that point it was working. He storms off yelling saying I'm rude and will not be served gas at this station. He goes inside and does something that turns my pump off. Explaining I was on E ....he tells me "if you followed the directions you w mind you would have got gas" mind you I'm paraphrasing. Frustrated I give in and go back and forth with him for a while, until he eventually threatens to break my car window if I don't leave.
I was very explicit to charge a certain amount on my debit card, instead the man that pumped my gas started to fill it up. I was tired and realized after I was already overcharged; I had to take it out myself because he pretended not to understand me. Then he began to actually yell at me when i told him I hadn’t wanted that much. I stopped here out of convenience because it was the closest place right as my gas light turned on… after this experience, i remembered why years ago i had said i’d never go back. when i was growing up around this neighborhood about 8 years ago, i walked to the convenience store here. the same man used to ask me if i had a boyfriend, if i was single, what was my type, and comment on my hair, face and body, while i was a young teenager. He knew my age, but persisted. Eventually i stopped returning for my own safety and would go to stores further away to avoid him. I want to tell everyone to Beware of this pervy scammer. I see now from other reviews that it is not just this one man, but all or most employees working here that provide unsafe and unkind “service,” if you can call it that.
Had an insane experience yesterday, where the cashier attendant decided I was not worthy of purchasing from the convenient store. I had two ice teas, and a teenager with me: that seemed to change her mind all sorts of last-minute to grab a chocolate milk. I asked to replace one of the teas, and was told it was already final (or “done” as she put it), and so I asked to buy two teas and to add the milk...in which the woman grew frantic and just started yelling no and shaking her head at me. We stood in a strange stand-off where I refused to put in my debit/credit approvals, and she refused to take the money altogether. She removed the items from my reach, and I was left confused as to whether it was a language barrier, or if this lady was bent on showing dominance with her power trip. Seems like a local family franchised this location, and I made sure to educate my teenager that the confrontation was unprofessional, and unnecessary on this random ladies end. I found her lack of social skills to be exhausted and very aggressive. Can’t recommend, and I wouldn’t be surprised if their reviews keep plummeting.
This place upgraded its pumps and software last year, which took forever, but now that it's complete you no longer have to go inside to pay. I give four stars because to my knowledge, they usually have the most affordable gas prices in the area, at least among those I regularly pass by between Interstate Ave and NE 57th. I don't wait long for service, which is best described as perfunctory. Not sure what it'd take to get me to give five stars to a gas station, but it's lacking that je ne sais quoi.
At around 11:45 am today (05/25) a maskless gas attendant basically tried to fight me. Like, dude, all I said was “what” because I couldn’t hear you, then you yelled at me saying “I don’t have time for this”. This guy proceeded to walk away, mumbling to himself, leaving my gas tank open. When I got out to close the tank, he proceeded to yell at me from the door of the store. Absolutely wild & terrifying.
Be advised: This is NOT a 24-hour gas station. I deadheaded here urgently driving a car that had very little gas. The directions were crazy terrible due to a phone gliche so my assistant had an Australian accent, refused to travel highways and gave really bad directions. Nevertheless, they advertise Open 24 hrs. Nope, closed. On MLK at 2:30am No apology sign in the window either. Just sayin
Brothers gotta be just a little friendlier. I get its a dead end job but I'd rather pump my own gas than feel like it's gonna start a fight to prepay cash at the pump. Bad day? Don't know but no worries if you keep at it, there won't be anybody left to pump gas to. Please stop the hate. You never know what better opportunity might drive up to that pump. Peace ✌
Took almost 30 min to get 2 propane tanks filled. The attendant was unpleasant, didn’t communicate, and definitely wasn’t making any effort to bust a hustle. After filling the tanks he simply left them by their propane tank, bought himself a soda and sat in a chair. Definitely won’t be going back there for anything else.
NOT 24 HOURS! On empty? Late night? Don't come here! Hours listed are incorrect! Phone number is questionable, nobody answers. I would post the correct hours however they are not posted on either door or anyof the windows. This location does not care about its customers nor does it care about its online presence.
There's not much more to say about gas station than that they offer great gas and other small market services. But pro-tip: they are an excellent spot for filling up your propane tanks. The cost saves a few bucks from using those exchange cages from the blue company and it's quick and convenient.
One of the worst gas stations ever, the owner just robbed me or $10 gas, I went to fill up $10 and the pump showed that is working but it didn't give me any gas, and she refused to either give me gas or my money and left me hanging with almost 8 miles only to go tank, she's a thief. BE AWARE
Best Car Wash Ever- I thought I was just going to get the dust washed off, but a young man there worked harder than anybody I've ever seen at a service station. He washed the whole car by hand. Don't be fooled by the modest appearances, this is where you want to go for a great car wash.
Wife is 39 weeks pregnant and requested assistance from attendant to pump gas as the card reader wasn’t working. Attendant refused, saying he’s legally no longer required to provide full service as of August, even upon request. The gas station is in violation of House Bill 2426.
Clearly not the best bargain, but the full tank did not evaporate so quickly. I at least 5-6 trips before my gas needle emphasizing that there was no more space in the tank, leaned toward the 'E'. Therefore I will continue to buy there when I am in the neighborhood.
Reading other people’s reviews, this seems to be a common theme - the gas station attendant was screaming at customers. I would avoid the location. Felt rather unsafe and an unnecessary experience when you just want to fill up on gas and move along with your day.
My fleet gas card had hundreds in unauthorized fraudulent purchases directly after getting gas from this particular gas station. It could have been a previous gas station 6 days prior, but that is unlikely and I have my doubts. Take that information as you will.
Parking lot attendant was not wearing a face mask. Seems irresponsible for management to let that happen. We need to protect the chronically ill, the disabled, the elderly, POC, and others who are vulnerable. These guys just lost my business.
Not open 24 hrs... came here from another Closed 24/7 76 down the road. Still on fumes... their registered phone doesn't work so couldn't call ahead. Pumps are on but wouldn't pump gas, doesn't say anything about them being off...
Told attendant I want 20 regular & he put an extra 5.27 which made me overdraft my account. He didn't say anything to me about over filling & who's going to eat this over draft charge? Me. That's who.
I asked for a full tank of regular. The employee proceeded to fill my empty tank with $5.11. My tank is not even a quarter filled. Very unimpressed. Go to the 76 station on 33 and kilkingsworth
Had the most aggressive gas station experience of my life here. Maskless attendant approached the car and yelled at us, appeared to be high on something, felt extremely threatened.
I go here since it's cheaper than some of the other gas stations in the area, but it's kind of trashy. Some of the fuel attendants can be intimidating and yell a lot.
Friendly once in a while. Mostly not awake yet. Having a bad day. Stayed out too late and look like walking dead. But they never overcharged or short-change me.
This is the only gas station I visit. The employees are great. Get out of the car and hang out with them a bit. They're good people. Tip your attendant
Cheapest American Spirits in the neighborhood, and Michael the weekend cashier is wonderful. I'd start smoking again just to have a reason to visit.
Came here for gas plus car wash, but the car wash wasn't on. The attendant barely spoke to me. Gas was lower than others in the area though.
Great staff and customer service. The gas station attendants were so friendly and helpful. Keep up the great work 76!!
Nice people - had a flat and they let me wait here at night for AAA. Thanks!
Not bad, but usually a little more expensive than the other places around it
The supervisor said "restroom not work". I think she was lying.
Attendant was very aggressive and not wearing a mask.
Always have an open bay to fuel. Friendly service.
Friendly service prices are a little high for gas
I wish all gas stations were this cheap
Better place to visit. Go check it out
Austen is a terrible gas attendant !
