The R runs sometimes a bit late... 77th Street is a station on the BMT Fourth Avenue Line of the New York City Subway. It is served by the R train at all times and is located at 77th Street and Fourth Avenue in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. My train stop for over 10 years ..and it's gotten worse and worse over the years. Trains are never on time. And when you're running to catch a train that came early, the train operator shuts the door in your face. Once in a while you get a nice train operator, but overall no. Also the older guy in the booth is always sleeping. And when he's awake he's so grouchy and gets upset when you ask him a question. Very unfriendly and unhelpful. Also fare evasion is huuuge in these Bay Ridge and Sunset Park stops. Kids either jump the turnstiles laughing, or they wait at the "exit-only" 76th Street exit to sneak in.

R train is frequently late or way too early. Beware that arrival times are a suggestion not policy because they are often wrong. Most nights on the 95st bound side , the addicts/homeless are hanging out at the back exit. Don't exit out there if you don't want to risk it.

Getting to and from your destinations is easy. Clear signage with ETA boards hang from the ceiling, making traveling that much easier. A few seating options are available with free Wi-Fi as well. The only caveat is that, like most stations, it's often very hot.

Man so many funny people you see here. Today I saw a man punching the wall while he was listening to loud rap music. Waiting for the train can feel like forever but the atmosphere is so surreal. Photo is unrelated
