The best customer service in the industry! Shout out to Alex who took the time to make sure my partner got the perfect bike! Alex presented a range of options after we explained what we wanted. He actively encouraged us to test ride the bikes and set up 3 different bikes for us to test without hesitation. Initially we weren’t considering these brands but after such amazing customer service and a bike which was better value anyway, we decided to complete the transaction and order here! Upon collection of the bike the team also took the time to setup my partner’s riding position on the bike, explained the various components and provided maintenance advice. Not only is this a team of professionals but they’re also riders so they truly understand the needs of riders! The West Ryde store is well presented and stocks a healthy range of bikes and accessories. If you’re in the market for anything bike related then I highly recommend visiting 99 Bikes Ryde!
Follow up 16/5/22 I just collected my bike. The staff member actually refused to apologise for the inconvenience. As a final note, the work has not been completed and I will need to head to another bike store to have the work completed. Original Review 13/5/22 I would not recommend buying an ebike or having it repaired at 99 bikes. My ebike which I bought from 99bikes has been in their repair shop for almost a month. I am still waiting for it to be completed. The woman in the shop is insanely rude. I have spoken to her twice. Nobody has followed up to see why the bike has not been completed. I keep ringing to find out what is going on but I can't get an answer. I am buying a second ebike but I can guarantee it won't be from 99 bikes. My ebike has become my main mode of transportation. I have had cars for 30 years and have never waited a month for them to be repaired. My ebike is for commuting to and from work.
99 Bikes but 0 customer service. I had the most infuriating experience of my life in this store by standing around like a fool for 1hr and 30 minutes while being completely ignored by the staff. Not a single staff member spoke to me or even made eye contact the entire time. It was so intense it felt intentional, especially when they passed me multiple times looking forward at eye level but ensuring not to meet eyes. I didn't receive the simplest gesture in retail sales of "I'll be with you shortly" or to the other customers who were served before myself "I'm sorry but this man has been waiting for a while, I'll be right with you." I ended up leaving just from the pure frustration of seeing those who are happy to push in front of others getting served first. This place needs serious retail sales training and how to manage a store at busy times.
Took my bike in 2 weeks ago to get a mid tier service completed, it was assessed and I was advised what needed replacing. Came to pick the bike up, started to ride home and it rode worse than when i had brought it in. The gears were still slipping (something I had asked the technician to look at). One of the other technicians could not confirm whether the bike had been test ridden prior to me receiving it back. Turns out they found a faulty part in the wheel freehub. Although the technician i dealt with the second time was good, they didn't charge for the part, I was still out of a bike for nearly 2 weeks. I wouldn't recommend 99bikes to service a road bike, they are mainly good for commuter and e-bikes but stay away if you need a reliable and quick service and use your bike regularly.
I am really happy with my experience here at 99 bikes west Ryde. What impressed me most was how honest the workers were.. I have been here a number of times and the service is great - there was one exception were something minor went wrong on a service however when I called them they fixed this and were up front about what they were doing. The staff take steps to try to help customers learn about bicycles and will actually help them to save money, recommending the right products to you rather than push more expensive products... As a student with a lower income this is something that I appreciate so much and it is why I will definitely continue getting my bicycle serviced here. Shoutouts to Zee, Declan and the rest of you. thankyou so much and keep it up
The customer service here really sucks I called to because i was planning to buy a bike but i had confusing in 2 bike thought they would help me over the phone but the guy goes we are busy can u call later The shops close from my house thats the reasons i call there so its easy for me to pickup the bike but they guy there didn’t responded to me nicely. Ended up calling the store in artamond the guys there were really good helped me select the bike done everything they making my bike ready soon for pickup Really shame on the people of Ryde they lost the local customer Never going back to this store although its local whole rather drive 20 min to artamond
Waited outside in the cold for 30 minutes before being allowed into the store, which had hardly any people in it for the size and considering restrictions. Seems like they want one store person per group. The couple ahead of us had been there even longer and left. There were 4 families behind us by the time we were let in. It was freezing cold, windy and wet. I have a disability and can't stand for long periods. I just wanted a bike. By the time we were allowed in I was in too much pain to really try out bikes and ended up leaving without anything. At least let the customers into the store and not leave them outside in the cold and rain.
This shop has horrible customer service. We went on the weekend and had to line up outside for about 30 minutes. There was no acknowledgment from the staff that we were there. Someone entered from the back entrance and stood inside, while when I asked if we could enter I was told no, because of restrictions. The guy that entered from the back of the store was then helped before us. We checked the opening times and decided to come back on Thursday night. We turned up and turns out the time on the door was wrong and the staff were rude again telling us we should check the site. Mate, not that hard to put a sticky note on the door.
I've frequently visited 99 Bikes for purchases and some information about my bike. While the other staff and workers are nice, Alex has consistently, without fail, gone above and beyond my expectations every single time with helpful information and just a general patience that is both friendly and helpful. Before I visit 99 Bikes, I will call up to see if Alex is working before heading over just because of how easy it is to communicate with Alex. He doesn't rush you, he doesn't force you to make a decision, he gives you the facts along with his opinion and waits for you. Thanks, Alex!
Don’t ever try call them as they will never answer, workshop or sales. Had bike booked in first appointment of the day. Arrived back mid afternoon. The guy (Declan) who “apparently” fixes the bikes just brushes you off when asked why bike hadn’t even been looked at all day and will just say “it is what it is”. Handed bike back, no apology. He couldn’t care less. If you’re having a bad day , perhaps don’t take it out on paying customers. Was about to purchase accessories for car and other products from them. No thanks. Will never go back to that store.
A helpful smaller store, whose staff are helpful and knowledgeable. I find there are a mix of personalities here, some warm and friendly, some polite but cooler and reserved. This isn’t a reflection of their skills, simply whether you have a friendly and fun or to the point experience. They have all the essential parts and accessories and a good team of mechanics. I have found they ask me enough questions to provide specific and helpful advice, resulting in purchases I am very glad to have made.
Came instore today to buy a bike. Had a rough idea of what I wanted but wasn't 100% sure. Alex was incredibly helpful and gave me plenty of insight on how to determine what style to go for. Alex was super friendly and very happy to assist. Unfortunately they didn't have stock of the bike I wanted but he called another store to find stock and also emailed them to confirm we wanted the bike and that we were on our way. Highly recommend 99 Bikes Ryde and thank you Alex for all your assistance ☺️
Excellent customer service. I went in to ask about an issue I was having with my bike. They knew exactly what the problem was and walked me through the solution/fix. The following week came back to get my bike serviced and to buy a new seat. They done a great job. This will be my new go to place for repairs and service. It’s a good example of how you can win a customer by simply treating them with kindness and respect ( and being knowledgeable) when you first come into contact with them.
Great customer service. First time i came here they were really busy and I didn't have a good time. Boy was today different though! Nick was super helpful and took the time to explain things to understand what I wanted and made sure I got what I needed. He wasn't pushy to make sales and even convinced me not to buy unnecessary items I didn't need. It's easy to see that the team there are passionate about bikes and care about the customer's experience rather than just making sales.
Great bikes (especially Merida). However, customer service was appalling: - the sales staff declined to assist in loading the bikes into the car; - other customers were far more helpful in assisting with removing tires; and - I struggled to put back the back wheel, took it back to the shop and the sales staff refused to assist in putting back the back wheel (1 hr after the sale). Is that really the kind of customer service one expects after spending $1100 on bikes and helmets?
Can't deny the bike feels smoother but for the price they could do much more better. Id say Im only 75% satisfied with the service. I had rust on the gear cogs and nuts etc and was expecting everything would be cleaned but the rust is not completely removed which could be done by taking some time. I could still see dust and grease under the brake handles and on the handle bar. Wouldn't come back again as there are much cheaper options from other known brands and providers.
Absolutely brilliant ! Really quick and friendly service, all the staff were warm and friendly with great smiles. I got a puncture on the way to work and Kayla the fabulous mechanic was happy to fit me in right away, giving me a couple of tyres choices and working out the best deal for me. Barely 10 minutes and she had me fitted up & ready to go. The selection of bikes & scooters look good too from a quick glance around. I definitely recommend ! Thank you Kayla & gang.
I had an awesome experience getting my bike (giant trance advanced pro) serviced by Gavin. He picked up a problem that another workshop had missed and saved me a heap of trouble before I head to Thredbo. He truly knows his stuff and I will be servicing my bike at his workshop in the future. Experience and vibe at the store and over the phone is friendly, professional, knowledgeable and just plain on top of their stuff. Great to have you guys in the area!
Another great experience at this shop. I needed Shimano Dure-Ace pedals. I called the shop, they had them in stock and suggested that I join the club for an additional 30% discount. Upon arrival the service was friendly, efficient and professional (like always). They have tonnes of stock on the shelves and their prices are fantastic. If you're a cyclist and Victoria Road West Ryde is not far from you, do yourself a favour and go see the guys at 99 Bikes.
This place is great. Although the bike I was looking for wasn’t in stock, Laura the salesperson was super helpful with ordering my bike and letting me have a go with a similar bike to get a feel. Tried different bikes before deciding with what I wanted. Staff was super helpful with suggesting me with a better saddle, helmets, bibs and bottle cage too. We spent about 2 hours checking out the bikes but the Laura had no issues at all helping us.
Thanks so much to Gavin in the workshop. We were so lucky to have him look at our bike (trance advanced 0) before we went to Stromlo. Being a ex racer and professional service agent there is little he doesn’t know. I cannot thank him enough, he stayed back late just to get our bike finished. We now drive an hour just so Gavin can work on our bikes, because I know the bikes are going to be perfect and I am not going to get ripped off.
My experience with Mick at 99 Bikes Ryde was the worst! Time means nothing to him plus when he’s late and instead of apologising when I told him I’ll be late for work, he started to lecture me and how should l listen to him until he finishes! After all of that and when I got home, the chain was out of position and he didn’t put it back after he finished the one month service! The worst experience and even one star is too much for it!
Went to exchange a bike that was too big, and was served by Michael. Michael's service was a standout. There were many things that needed to be done to the new bike due to it being a xxssize , seat height required cutting down the post, rack required adjusting the connectors, he attended to these tasks with the most patient and helpful manner, I was truly impressed by his attitude and service, thanks michael
New their product. Willing to answer any questions you ask about their product. Won't push to get you to pay more then you are willing to pay. Won't lie to you. I even done the give them more money as if not knowing how much I gave them, to test their honesty. I am a member of their loyalty club. Didn't even consider the build your own bike part of their buisness. Will next time.
Fantastic service from start to finish. Ordered Merida Scultura 7000e through Nick on the Wednesday and had it arrive and built by the Friday. Nicks response and customer follow up was exceptionally refreshing when compared to other bike shops. I have no issue in sending future business his way as I know that my friends will also appreciate the service and support.
These guys are hard working champions. Special thanks to James for my first gravel bike selection and today Nick for caring of my wife's road bike. So many details they took care of in a such busy time with kindness and attention to beginner like me. I already referred my friend couple and they purchased their bikes here too. Thank you for your work and help.
Been here a couple of times to buy spare parts. Staff are always looking to upsell and advice provided seems to always lead to another one of their products. There are some sales assistants who aren't friendly or helpful at all. From now on I'd rather make the longer journey going to alternative bike shops. I would not recommend 99Bikes West Ryde.
5 star customer service - A massive thank you to Nick at 99 bikes from Ryde New South Wales for not only delivering the MTX DXP Panner bag by hand from Sydney to Adelaide but offered this without hesitation, on his holiday no less. That is customer service beyond any expectation. I strongly recommend getting all your bike needs from 99 bikes Ryde.
What a poor customer service! The lady in the workshop was very rude, unfriendly and unhelpful. Also, it took 20 mins to replace a tube. I don't recommend here because of her. In addition to that, I don't really understand why I have to pay for a tube and tube change separately. In the past, I could pay for them at the same time.
Excellent customer service. Jorge was extremely considerate. I was in a rush to get a bike so I called in if I can get everything in same day pick up, there were a few hiccups but Jorge smoothly fixed things and there was no problems with the transaction. Definitely recommend Thank you again for the excellent service! …
Managed to finally get through to the head office customer support, thanks to the response here. Not much stock available but that is to be expected in the current circumstances. Looking forward to the day I can go in store to explore the range instead of the hit and mostly miss experience I have had in lockdown so far.
Very efficient and cheap, I arrived at 99 bikes about 2 minutes after they opened and was met by an energetic team that was ready to help, punctured tyre was replaced for only $20 and all my questions were answered, discounts are offered to club members also.great store and a great team, definitely recommend them.
Massive call out to whole team at 99 Bike Store in Ryde. I would really like to acknowledge Lachlan for going above and beyond in terms of helping me getting the bike ready to go and all the tips that you have provided to a newbie like me as I am re-entering the MTB World. Highly recommend this team everyone :).
We went in to try out some bikes for our son at 99 Bikes. Alex was super knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. He was very thorough and explained what our son needed (as he was in between bike sizes) but it helped us make an informative decision. Thank you, Alex, our son is very excited for his birthday present!
I took my new frame back after riding thru a pothole. These guys took my bike, contacted the provider who deemed there was nothing wrong with the frame and updated thia info in my warranty. Super helpful team, kept me informed thru theathe process and solved all my querries Thanks guys
Had an internal remote dropper installed on an older bike and not a problem at all! (other shops said no it couldn't be done)..Gavin in the workshop was very helpful and very knowledgable. Nice to have a good LBS and workshop in the Ryde-Gladesville area. highly recommended.
Had this rear derrailleur bent problems due to heavy wind blow knocked the bike whilst taking a photo in La Perouse earlier, i rang the shop and Gordon to save the day! Job well done with the quickfix! Thank you so much and to the rest of the team in West Ryde branch! …
Shout out to Adam and Jorge. These guys have always had a positive attitude and have helped me to the best of their abilities, every single time I go in. They know what they're talking about, very professional. I am so grateful and will be a regular customer. Rock on!
Great experience purchasing my partners first bike! Staff member Nic was so helpful & made sure we had everything we needed. Answered all our questions & showed us heaps of options, he even helped us fit it all in our car. Will definitely go back again in the future.
Got my bike a full service at the Ryde store as it needed a new chain and cassette. Feels like a brand new bike. Very professional workshop. Reasonably quick service considering covid restrictions. Would highly recommend. (Cannondale Evo with Ultegra groupset).
Took my bike in for a 8 months service, was served by Gordon. He listened and fixed all the issued I mentioned. Gordon gave great advice on the tyre PSI (I had it too high for my weight and type of riding) thank you so much for the detailed work on my bike.
Amazing Store! My family and I came in to buy two bikes and we were helped a lot by Denis. He recommended us to the bikes best suited for our needs and helped us with all the additional add on's like a water bottle holder. Would 100% recommend going here!
The manager and staff here are amazing. They don’t try to sell you the most expensive bike/gear, they get you what you need, and it is clear that they know their stuff. Super welcoming and kind, got yourself a loyal customer! Thank you
Great customer service! My son had his heart set on a specific BMX but it was not in stock at any stores. The 99 Bikes team at West Ryde followed up with the supplier and had the BMX in store ready to go within 2 weeks. Thanks guys.
5 star service from the awesome team at West Ryde. Had to repair my kids tyre quickly for a Father's Day ride, and Nick & the team was super accommodating and helpful, got us back on the road in no time. Keep up the great work guys!
Went in today with my child's cruzee bike with a wheel which was making some noise. Nick assessed it and fixed it on the spot. It's obvious that these guys know their bikes as well as how to take care of their customers. Thank you!
After a few failed attemps of trying to setup an indoor trainer myself. I brought my bike in and the wahoo kicker and the entire team help me set it up and showed me how to set it up. Thank you for the setup and the patience.
I rocked up on their doorstep a few minutes before opening and while I was happy to wait I was welcomed in to have my tube replaced with out a booking. The guys were friendly, nothing was a problem or effort. Always 5 stars.
Bought a bike for our daughter today at 99 Bikes West Ryde. The service and advice provided by Alex was amazing. Great price too!! Highly recommended and will definitely be back for any future bike purchases. Thanks Alex.
Excellent team, however I want to give a big shout out for Daniel. He has helped me a couple of times with my bike and every time he has been very helpful. He is very knowledgeable and always offers me heaps of options.
Kiet was super helpful in setting me up with my new bike which was ordered in and delivered a week earlier than expected; and he gave me very helpful tips with maintaining the bike! Thank you for the great service!
Cool guys, especially james and nick who sorted me out with a size down full face and a new bike My only regret is the downtube protector on my norco is installed upside down LMAO but its otherwise amazing shop
Dealt with Nick (who is a mechanic) who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable when I attended the store and required the discretion of the staff in swapping my bike. His expertise was very much appreciated
Had another go and loved the way this really handsome man served me. His name was Declan and helped me fix my bike. Definitely will come back to get my bike fixed if it breaks next time …
Probably not fair to say everyone at shop provides poor customer service, but staff at workshop, inpatient, push you out of their way, everything your fault not their bikes. Avoid this workshop!
Excellent work and service. My bike was in the shop for a few days and Gavin kept me updated daily and any expense was consulted with me first before work was done. I highly recommend this shop!
Nick went above and beyond in ensuring my satisfaction when an electrical fault on a new ebike before it had gone out the door rendered it useless. Great service and friendly staff. Thanks guys.
Lachy was helpful and kindly put aside a bike for me so I could come and inspect it and then purchase. They did well with lots of people in the store handling all the customers at a busy time.
Bought a bike for my daughter. Had to take it back same day. It is a mongoose so expected quality. After taking it back it still has issues. Not sure if it's bike quality or service quality???
Great Staff, friendly and approachable. Young guy Michael in the service area was just so lovely whilst fixing my sons bike, full of bike knowledge and wanting to share it, great experience
Gone here for advice of choices for kids bike. Staff was very helpful, understanding customer's need really well. Came out with more clarity on choices of bikes for kids in between sizes.
I booked to fix brake on my bike , went there this morning and one of the staff just fixed it on spot free of charge! Very happy with their honest & good service . highly recommended !
Great customer service by the team but especially Alex. He did just about everything to get the baby seat attached to my bike (no way I would have been able to if i did it in my own).
Just had my bike serviced by 99 Bikes West Ryde and am very satisfied. Quick and professional service, and very reasonable price. I will definitely be a return customer.
Back again today for maintenance / repair! Two awesome guys serving in the workshop! I wish I knew their names because they were truly amazing! Mick and Antonio maybe?
Mick at west Ryde store your are champion had the time to help me out while unloading boxes from tracks keep up the good work guys …
I received an efficient and expert service, with really helpful advice, from both Declan and Alexander at 99 Bikes Ryde. I can recommend them and this store highly.
Alex from West Ryde was very helpful to find a suitable bike mount for my mobile phone and offered to contact 100% for spare parts for my sunglasses. Thanks, Alex.
Thanks to Nicholas Johns for the help/advice on the bike rack - the Rocky Mounts arrived quickly, was perfect and easy to fit....saved me hours of research time!
Great customer service. Precise and clear answers to the questions asked. Dealt with the front counter staff, provided perfect service. Highly recommended.
The team at 99 bikes Ryde were super helpful and the customer service was fantastic, even helping me carry the heavy Kickr and Climb to the car. Thank you
They seem to always be busy. The sales guy ended up having to serve another customer and i waited a good 20 mins before leaving. Easier to buy online.
slow service. went to get a bike for my kid. asked for training wheels and said it will take 2-3 days! went to cycleworld down the road. 1 hour. done.
Fantastic 99bikes shop! Kevin was super helpful and we ended up getting exactly what we were after. Highly recommended and all the best to the team!
Chain broke on my wife’s bike today, they fixed it straight away ! Wife’s happy ! You know the saying! Thanks again Guys ( grazie ragazzi ) …
Great service nice salesperson who was genuinely interested in helping me make a decision! 99 Bikes at Ryde and Penrith have been great !
Customer service sucks. They did not want to fix a flat tyre the most basic. I went to another store 99 bikes and they fixed the issue
Very good service, able to test drive a few ebikes, purchased one that is perfect for my needs. Alex was fantastic. Highly recommend.
Nick went above and beyond with his service. He was very friendly and knew what he was talking about. Very recommended.
Absolutely impressed by the quality of service. Competence and courtesy from all the staff members I have dealt with.
I visited shop for a helmet. Good customer service and quality items. I will visit when I need bike items. Thank you
Always great service, regardless of how much you know. Great advice and honest insights. Highly recommended
