Ace / Nifty Rental cars co-agents. The worst. RUN DONT WALK AWAY. First, Ts&Cs ARE MADE UP ON SITE REGARDING INSURANCE. They do not match what was in the web at the time of the rental reservation, which in no way indicated credit card insurance was not accepted. The terms on the web rental / res system in Rental Cars.com EVEN state your credit card insurance will be fine, you just need to let the company call to confirm. You get there and they rudely point to their own set of terms that are different from those (lengthy) terms provided on their Rentalcars res page. Bait and switch. Pro Tip: ITS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY ACE / Nifty RENTAL CARS TO GET WITH THE THIRD PARTIES YOU HIRE TO MARKET YOUR SERVICES LIKE RENTALCARS.com AND ESTABLISH A CLEAR AND COMPLETE SET OF TERMS. Tried to make it my fault. Baloney. Jumped through that hoop and got the personal insurance info they demanded. Next they asked me to sign a contact that had in large caps “NO DAMAGE”. I asked for a walk around only to then walk the car. Noted multiple sheet metal damages including two windshield issues. The hot headed large woman with blond hair marked all on a separate sheet then she tried to force me to sign the same main contract saying there were “no damages”. When I amended the damages section to say “damages as noted”, instead of “no damages“, she lost her mind and became not only rude but angry and unreasonable. Then she told me I was responsible for any glass damage and tried to hustle me through sighing. I tried to clarify rock chips would not be my responsibility. I think we agreed, but then she tried to get me to sign a section that said I was responsible for ALL glass damages. When I wrote a clarifying statement saying rock ships were not included, she lost it and started complaining she would have to rewrite the contract. Suddenly she decided it would be more painful if she just threatened repeatedly to cancel the agreement. I said there’s no reason for that, just know what we discussed and agreed on instead of asking me to sign something that’s erroneous and totally in your favor. She tore up the contract and cancelled the rental refusing to deliver the car I had pre paid for. Apologized, Begged and pleaded for her to rewrite the contract however she demanded, apologizing since I had a wedding yo get to. She aggressively refused knowing she was causing me damages by cancelling the rental. When , I expressed my displeasure, she stood over my wife and I wagging her tounge and threatening us until we were off the property. Repeatedly jumping in my face and shouting “Get your &$@! out of my car! And “get off my property!” Threaten physical harm to my wife and I Forcing us to stand out on the street in a rough industrial neighborhood under the interstate while we waited for an Uber so we could get to safety. Lunatic. No managers. No customer care personnel to talk to. Nobody cares.

While acknowledging others' experiences, my fiance and I had a great experience with ACE Rent-A-Car. The two women we worked with were sweet and fun, as well as genuinely helpful. The vehicle we got had arguably the smoothest ride I've ever experienced, especially in a rental car, and the interior was very clean. We certainly would consider renting from ACE again. However, there are some things to be cautious of when renting from ACE. 1 - Their location is entirely in a run-down, sketchy area that even our local friends advised us not to go to. They told us to NEVER wait in that area, not to leave our car unlocked, and not to sit in our car. In a city riddled with violent crime, ACE is not located in a place anyone should want to be in. If we knew the area better, we likely wouldn't have rented from ACE, even though we're glad we did. 2 - Their deposits are utterly ridiculous, even if you have verified insurance. Our deposit was $400, and we think we were given a deal... Other deposits are more. Not only that, it takes nearly 2 work weeks to get your deposit back. We still have not received ours but hope that we will soon. 3 - The "good" vehicles are reserve for more "important" people, as we were told. Because we were regular renters, the vehicle we got was old, covers in scratches, a fog light was out, the headlights were so fogged they barely worked, the wipers were old and didn't work in even regular NOLA rains - twice we had to pull over and wait for the rain to calm down before we could safely drive; the passenger's side airbag didn't work, and we couldn't turn it on; unless you have an aux cord, you're not listening to music because the radio barely worked (don’t worry, we bought 2 aux cords and left them in the car :)), and, lastly, the windows were clearly cleaned with a DIRTY rag, leaving streaks everywhere. It made it hard to see through the windshield most of the time, particularly at night and in the rain. I would use serious caution when renting from ACE, but if you do what you're supposed to as a renter and are upfront with them, displaying kindness and human decency, they will take care of you. They are a good enough company to rent from, especially if you're wanting a cheap car to roll around town in.

This was the absolute worse car rental experience ever. As a frequent business travel or road warrior it was a compIete inconvenience because I was completely unaware Ace was not located at the airport but was off site and they would have to send someone for me. I made my reservation on Priceline since my regular companies I frequent had no cars available. And Priceline lied and made it seem as though the company was on-site. I only knew it wasn’t when I arrived to the rental area and did not see the company name I had to ask an airport employee. The employee gave me a number to call since I was not provided with one before arrival. I was instructed by an Ace representative over the phone to go back to where I was dropped off & wait for someone to come get me. I got to the airport at 7:50 am bc the reservation stated they opened at 8:00 am. I called the number on the reservation confirmation several times and not a soul answered. I was then given the cell number of the owner. He explained he was on his way and would be there to pick me up in 5 min. After waiting about 30 min he arrives. He also has another gentleman he was picking up at the airport as well. And he picked us up in a extremely small vehicle. When we got to the rental car lot which was NOT located on-site at the airport in a shady area. I had to deal with a rude customer service rep ( see picture attached) that was very rude and condescending. In addition, I wouldn’t have even continued with the reservation if I did not have to be at a business meeting which they made me late for!! I Would give zero stars if I could. BUYER beware! DO NOT RENT from Ace. Very shady staff and cars!

Was unaware Ace was not located at the airport but was off site & they would have to send someone for me. I only know this because when I arrived to the rental area & did not see the company name I had to ask an airport employee. The employee gave me a number to call since I was not provided with one before arrival. I was instructed by an Ace representative over the phone to go back to where I was dropped off & wait for someone to come get me. When I went back to where the shuttle dropped me off as ins I was told by another airport employee to go to a different location and wait. As I was headed to the 3rd location to wait to be picked up to be taken to the rental place a gentleman with Ace found me. I proceeded to follow him to another parking area “where they park so they don’t have to pay airport taxes”. The vehicle I was given had visibly been wrecked on the entire right side of the vehicle & poorly fixed, the handles were falling off, there were brown stains across the entire ceiling & upon acceleration there was a loud noise coming from the right front tire area. If it wasn’t in a rush to get to my destination I wouldn’t have even continued with the reservation. Would give -5 starts if I could.

Scammer!!!!! Do not go here!!!! After reserving our car online when we got there they said our car was canceled bc we didn't get there at the exact time. That we were ok he would take care of us and that he needed to charge me a 400.00 deposit. I have never been charged a deposit when renting a car. That they didn't have any cars then the older guy was trying to tell me the car insurance I bought online for my rental was not sufficient and to not worry he would get me insurance that was. Then proceeded to ask me if I had my insurance and to show him my phone take it from me and ask me to step away from him while he was pushing buttons on my phone. And when I told him I don't allow anyone to touch my phone without me seeing he got all snotty and said rude things to me Who does that? This is not a good business and he is completely scamming people. I feel bad for the 2 ladies working in there. They were quiet the whole time. The limo driver was standing there the whole time assisting me. Even he said that guy was a scammer. So beware. P.s. the building they're in looks horrible. Cheap is not necessarily good!¡!

I would suggest that no one rents here. First, there is no representative at the airport to inform the consumer on how to communicate with them. There is no number identifying who to contact as an Ace representative because the agency is not located with the other rentals. Secondly, the staff is unprofessional and there is no couth. They contacted my insurance to verify that I had insurance, although they saw my information. Also, the other representative did not ask the other consumer the same questions, as we had the same insurance. My insurance representative refused to speak with the Ace representative and requested to speak to myself instead. Next, I received a phone call the day of return asking if I would "steal the car"? I disclosed to the Ace representative that I did not need to steal their car. This agency is lucky I can not give no star. I felt a sense of discrimination and would ask that staff is trained appropriately and assume that everyone does not follow protocols.

I wish there was an option for a half a star, because that would be generous of me to give. Please do not rent from here. Rented a vehicle from this company only because it stated airport rentals. The cars are dated, 2007, with tented window, musty water smell throughout vehicle, car doesn’t even have remote to lock and unlock doors. And I was told that I was given a upgrade. Upon asking where the cars came from I was told by the agent that the owner buys them from the auction. A refund was not honored and this was the only reason why I choose to drive the vehicle. Vehicles are picked up in a old storage warehouse. I was told to return the vehicle to the airport to only be then told that the vehicle had to be returned to the warehouse. Thank God my flight was delayed because my family and I would have missed our flight over this piece of S....

Stay away from this place!!! Huge scam artist!!! Do not rent!! So my husband rented a car online. He put down pick up for noon knowing we wouldn't be able to get it till later. But I thought when you rented a car it held for day of service. Not so according to them. And they would need to find a car. Then a guy walks in acting all jivy saying don't worry we will take care of you. He kept telling me to sit down and when I told him no thank you I've been flying all day so then said a snide remark about that's a typical woman. Oh brother. So then my husband had bought insurance online ontop of the insurance we had. And the guy was that that's not good insurance don't every go through them. Then he tried charging me a 400.00 dollar deposit and it would take 7 to 10 business day. Oh brother I took the stuff he copied and I got outta there.

Steve from the Ace Rental company is truly in the wrong business. Good Customer Service requires empathy, kindness, accountability, and professionalism. I witnessed none of those qualities in his matter-of -fact, oh well I'm sorry attitude towards not having a car available for a confirmed rental. A phone call could have saved me the awful experience I had being stuck in a city with a small child and no car to get to our destination. Steve told me to just go to another agency and get one. The problem with that suggestion was the cars were 3 times more expensive and I didn't have the money to afford their extremely high rates. I was stuck in the airport with a child all night because of STEVE and HIS lack of care or concern. I hope he finds a heart because he obviously doesn't have one!

I do not know why or how other people had such negative experiences here. This was easiest and quickest and CHEAPEST car rental I have ever had. Granted, there is a hefty deposit and it takes a hot minute to get it back. It is ok.The only downside of ACE is that it is not in a great area. But that doesn't matter because the rental process is so quick. My car was unbelievably clean and was one of the smoothest rides I have had in a while. The two men at the front desk were affable and funny. The woman who got me physically in the car was super down to earth as well. My car is fixed now, but next time anyone I know needs a cheap rental, GO HERE! I also had the rental dates wrong and that legit didn't matter. I felt very well taken care of here. It does not get better than this.

I booked a car on the phone. I get there and the girl was rude. Didn’t believe me that I booked it on the phone until I showed her my booking reference. Then told me I had to have my own insurance. When I said I don’t have insurance she asked me why couldn’t I use my own car insurance on my current vehicle. I told her I don’t have a car, that’s why I’m renting one. Then she told me it would be $35 a day to add the insurance. I said fine. Then she told me that because I was using a debit card that I would be charged $750! I told her that I wasn’t told any of this information. She said it’s all on line. You have to read it ma’am. She was so arrogant and rude. So I told her to cancel the booking. Disgusting lack of customer service. She should not have her job.

Ok.....so I booked through Priceline and was all ready to begin my trip. On the way to this place, I decided to check out their reviews. I read them, but thought they can't be THAT bad! Oh Internet! When you know, you KNOW! Rather than bore anyone with the details of rudeness and general disinterest, I'll just say: READ the reviews NOT posted by the business itself. That about sums it up. I called Enterprise and with NO reservation was able to drive a rental off their lot with ZERO hassle and attentive customer service. Unfortunately, I can't give less than one star, so.... ONE STAR for the dirty office. Wish I could give less. I guess they'd rather post fake positive reviews rather than actually improve their service. Oh well...

Let me start by saying they only kept the reservation for 2 hours. That was the length of my original flight but my flight was delayed and they did not even honor the first reservation. Secondly the car they gave me had a constant low tire pressure beeping sound, you have a limited amount of miles, the CarPlay didn’t work and got lost in Baton Rouge because I couldn’t see where I needed to exit. Plus the day of the drop off they even refused shuttle service to the airport and had to get an Uber for $70. It’s best to just go the Hertz or something that has better customer service. This trip wasn’t even a leisure one it was emergency leave, yet they didn’t care.

Horrible service and a waste of my vacation time, After booking a couple of weeks in advance, I arrived at the New Orleans airport at 11am and called ACE Car Rental to find out by a guy name Steve that they don’t have any rental car available for me and that I should just booked an rental car at the airport. After an hour of shopping around online, I end up booking with a different competitor last minute at the airport which cost me $100 dollars more then what the quote ace rental quoted me a couple weeks before. Highly recommend not to rent a car with ACE or chances you will end up having to pay an arm and an leg Last minute at the airport.

I wish I could give extra stars. As long as I live in New Orleans, I will never rent a car from anyone else. If you like super-corporate-types of places, there are those. I personally like getting a great deal on a great car rental from a great place with incredibly personable, friendly, helpful, kind people who go out of their way to make you feel happy and comfortable - as a person - not a reservation number. Ms. Rachel & Mr. David are amazing & truly treated my husband & I so warmly and graciously. It was the quickest, easiest, most pleasant and just - best experience overall that I've ever had renting a car. Thank y'all SO much!

I received a call from a man who identified himself as the owner an hour before my scheduled pickup. He was rude over the phone and asked creepy questions about where I would be driving while calling me “doll.” Although i booked my reservation on a national website, he stated I could not leave the local area. I pointed out that this was not stated when I reserved the car. He replied that it is on his website. I have since reviewed the website, having not visited it before as I booked on a national site, and I see no such statement. He disconnected the phone call abruptly without providing cancellation details. Do not recommend.

This place is a gem to me. Dave the owner is such an amazing person. The two ladies at the front desk are also super friendly and helpful with all the questions. I was originally quoted by the third party renter but upon arrival, they surprised me with their own adjustments rate which is absolutely cheaper. The refundable deposit fee is very reasonable especially if you had a full cover autopolicy. They do things in such a promptness way. I left some stuff that i was putting in the center console and guess what? Safe and sound! Thanks Dave for your kindness. Will definitely look forward for the future business.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience with what I can confidently say is the worst rental car company in the vibrant city of New Orleans. To make matters worse, my initial attempt to book a car through the Priceline website turned out to be a fruitless endeavor. Frustration struck me not once, but twice, as the website returned the disheartening message that no cars were available. However, I sincerely hope that no other traveler has to endure the same frustrating experience I had with this particular rental car company in New Orleans. Thank you Miss Tootie, I will never use ACE Rent A Car service.

I’m not going to dog this business out like I could. Because in the end the driver that came and picked me up and the gentleman that I was speaking to on the phone (not sure if they are the same) asking about my deposit were both pretty pleasant. Sooo kudos to them. Amber or whatever her name is that sits at that desk has no business working in customer service. Very nasty person (lady is too good for her)….please read the comments from others…I would agree with them…but renting with ACE…is renter BEWARE….and if you need to leave NO….Definitely not with those cars…IJS….

I found ACE on Expedia after renting a car from one of the big boys for a weekend in Houston. I needed a car for the following week in New Orleans. The rate for that week in NO was less than for the weekend in Houston. Car was a compact like I wanted--easy to park and good gas mileage. It had less than 10K miles, compared to the 50K car I got in Houston. No problems with the vehicle. Dropped off vehicle after hours without a hitch. The only downside I saw was the off-airport location, but the pickup didn't take that much more time. I'll use them again.

I rented a vehicle from them from September 28- October 5, 2019. The vehicle was a disaster! It would Jerk while driving after driving off the lot. I had to return it for another wreck. This was a 2007 Chrysler 200 with 141,000 miles! Can you believe that? I was shocked. They would not,and did not other vehicles that was better in the class " mid-size". This place is not for someone who deserves a " decent" rental experience. They refused to credit any portion of the rental! Hotwire allowed this to happen, as it was booked thru them.

Str8 up BS. I just got off the phone with a lady there. Yeah, I don't even remember her name. So rude. She asked more questions than I did. I felt stupid even waisting my time. I'm sure she loses alot of biz. I mean she wasn't trying to satisfy my need for a car at all. I will tell everyone not to deal with this place. The car and staff were all amazing. The only negative comment I have is that they aren't actually at the airport, so you have to ride a 20 minute shuttle to the car rental center then wander around like an idiot because there are no signs or instructions to find Ace. So then when we called the 1-800 number on our reservation they said the New Orleans office wasn't operating due to the hurricane. Turns out they were open and came to pick us up, but boy, that could have turned ugly and angry quick!

David was so great. He made sure every step was handled correctly and would say the definition of southern hospitality. The car was perfect for our trip, great gas mileage and the navigation system plugged into our phone and showed on display worked so well. The area might not be in the nicest area, but with any big city you have to be on your toes. Being from LA we felt fine tho. All in all every time I need a car while I’m Nola I’m definitely hitting up my buddy David. Thanks again guys!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! The car was disgusting but we didn’t have a choice as we were running late to be somewhere and needed a car. They actually charged us a $400 deposit and won’t return it for 14 days. Usually when you rent the deposit is pending and retuned but they actually charged the car. FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD and they were so unbelievably rude when we called them about it. NEVER rent from here. Steve was a jerk. He actually hung up on me when I tried to talk to him about it.

Steve at Ace was great. He took care of us even though we arrived late. He still picked us up. Steve made sure we had a good car and also recommended places to eat at which were great places. The place is off site but literally down the street it wasn’t a big deal. Luckily our bus driver told us to call them when we got to the rental station and Steve took 10 mins to get to us. I would call Steve again for a rental if I needed one if I came back into town. Thanks Steve!!

Awful, awful company. NEVER, EVER RENT FROM ACE OR NIFTY. The reservation said unlimited miles. After I took a cab to their scary rental location on Poydras, I was informed that unless you have a round trip airline ticket to and from New Orleans, you only get 125 miles and then you are charged per mile. IT DID NOT SAY THIS IN THE RENTAL ADVERTISEMENT. Do not try to save a few dollars by using this cut rate, awful company and stick with the national rental companies.

Overall a good experience and great price. Just know that 1) if you book thru Priceline this is not Ace, it’s Nifty and 2) call to confirm the insurance policy beforehand as we needed to add temporary personal car insurance in order to rent the car, if we hadn’t we would have been out of a rental car or forced somewhere else triple the price at the last moment. Thankfully this was not the case and all worked out smoothly including an upgraded car for our road trip.

Rachel and Michelle were great, they took care of me and my husband quickly. The place is no frills at all but they will get you in and out of there quickly, they also had great recommendations. I did however book on Priceline which told me it was located in the airport, it was not, well it was but when we landed he said he was closing idk, the cab ride was $36 to get there and $40 to get back, this issue I’ll take up with Priceline, the people at ace were great.

Worst experience ever. I booked though expedia, when i arrived they told me that renting a car in louisiana as a foreigner is a problem, because they have to enter a local social security insurance number, which i didnt have of course. Then they added 40 usd on top which i had to accept because i had no other option. But they gave me a car which is totally a mess, you can see the pictures here. DONT RENT A CAR HERE, RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!

The experience he is by far the worse I’ve ever had with a rental car company. I was told one thing on my reservation and once I got to the location, I was told something different. I will never use this ACE ever again. The staff at this if they had no cares I was not concerned about the issues. I asked to speak with the manager on duty and he had no concern of what was going on. I would NOT highly recommend using someone else.

Awful experience. Booked a week ahead and made sure our car was confirmed as having unlimited mileage. We then arrived to collect the car to be told by the owners that there was a 150 mile daily limit and the cars were for local journeys only. He added that he was going to call us to tell us but was too busy. He also added that it was a common issue with Ace Rent A Car. Do not use!! We had to cancel and use another company.

Worse rental car experience ever. Rented through Priceline so I didn't think anything of it. Place looks like a warehouse with abandoned junk cars all around. The car I was given was horrible. It was a 2016 (we're in 2021) with hail damage. One window didn't go all the way down, the backseat area was filthy, scratches and dents everywhere, and the key fob didn't work. I could go on but the photos are the proof.

This place needs to be closed down. This was the worst experience with a car rental company I have ever experienced. The rental space was in such a dodgy location, the staff were not friendly. They held $400 as a deposit and didn't pay it back until 10 days later. I'm not from the US and they wanted to downgrade me to an 'overseas' rental vehicle which was the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

AVOID IF YOU ARE A TOURIST!!! You’re basically not allowed to take the car more than 200 miles from pick up location.!! The booking site will not tell you this at all. Our booking gave us unlimited mileage and mentioned nothing about the restrictions. The response when we turned up at Ace … oh yeah that’s what happens with the the booking site. WTAF!

Other than being reasonably priced and fast, the customer service from the whole team at the New Orleans office was OUTSTANDING. What a lovely group of people, thank you all! Next time I need a car rental I will only go through them, and tell others to do the same. Thanks again guys, you helped take any hassle out of my birthday vacation!

They are not located at MSY airport like their address pretends. They are in downtown New Orleans. I waited 1.5 hrs for the airport “shuttle” and had to book a car with Hertz. Booked thru Hotwire, and will refuse to use either company in the future. I’ve been disputing the $264 charge ever since. Both companies have deserved bad reviews.

Don’t believe the unlimited mileage on the reservation you make. It’s by far the worse rental place I’ve ever tried to rent from in my life. It’s not the workers fault but it’s the company and they are by the worse. I’d rather pay more at enterprise and others before I’d book there in my life.

The ladies were nice and there were no problems. The only drawback was that they needed to call insurance companies for verification. Now, this isn't a problem as I want used to the rental places being so thorough, but it took a little time for that to process. Other than that, all was well.

WORST CAR RENTAL COMPANY. When you have a reservation, you should honor it. We get in the airport and call you to come get our car, that we had reserved, to be told you didn't have it anymore but could help us at 8:00 am the next day. Your customer service is the worst. We were stranded.

Worst rental car experience ever. Claim to be on site but weren’t. took us nearly an hour from the time we arrived until we were able to leave with the car all at the fault of Ace. Unbelievable how poor they are at doing something so simple

Cars need to be cleaned between customers. I believe I caught Covid from an unclean car. I will go to a large chain care rental company next time and will not be renting from y’all anymore. Also I was charged more than originally quoted.

BEWARE!!! I'd leave less than zero if I could. They left my family stranded at the New Orleans Airport. They closed early and told us we were out of luck. Our booking was completely paid for!! THEY STOLE OUR MONEY

I needed a rental car while my car was in the shop. Very easy to make a reservation, great location and I was in and out of there with my car in 15 minutes and same when I returned it. Highly recommend!

Reserved a car but with the hotel collapse buses were rerouted and we were going to be over 2 hours delay and they wouldn't hold my car even though I called 30 min before I was scheduled. Very rude!
