The prices are very good, everything is mostly under 2 dollars!!!! The shop has good customer service as they say hello and know about the sweets. They have a variety of buns from savoury to sweet, the buns are really soft especially if warmed up. The beef curry bun was delicious as it wasn’t too oily and had a crunchy texture on the outside, although it was less of a curry and more of a Jamaican beef patty filling taste. The mango bun was absolutely soft and had a nice smooth filling that satisfies the need for mango. The walnut bun was okay, the dough was sweet but not too sweet and the filling had walnut paste with a bit of walnut pieces, it is less sweet than the others. The Red bean SnowBall/ Mochi was delicious because it had the tasty desiccated coconut on top and was superrrrr soft (compared to other Mochi I have tried). The Red Bean paste inside isn’t too sweet but just the right touch. I’d complain however that the white surrounding part isn’t sweet at all so alone it feels like jello and no actual sweetness. I’d only complain that when I went there was for some reason very low stock on a lot and therefore I had few choices to select. Would come here again (THEY ALSO HAVE HUGEWE CUSTARD BUNS AND CHINESE PINEAPPLE BUNS)
This bake shop offers terrible service. The staff there act like Soup Nazis. (You came too late, no buns for you!) They don't even answer their phone. When they answered, they put me on hold for over 5 minutes. Buns are average but are more expensive than Fresh Palace Supermarket, where the buns are individually wrapped and are just as good. Fresh Palace Supermarket is our go-to place now for buns. When I bought from Akko, they squeezed all the buns I bought in a box. When I got home, they were all squashed. So, on my next visit, I asked the sales girl to put them (10 items) in bags. The girl squeezed three buns in one tiny bag (the transparent, flimsy, recyclable type you found in supermarket, only one third of its size), and the buns also got squashed. I had not been able to place an order for their cake since they didn't pick up their phone! I ordered my birthday cake from Sobeys now, which has a birthday cake with lemon fillings (custom-order). This cake is my kid's favourite. So no more Akko for us. Akko used to be our favourite bakery shop. We were there when it first opened, and I still have the historic discount card issued by the first owner. But this bakery has changed hands numerous times and is no longer the same.
Went twice so far, first time was there wanted to try their pineapple bun but went there when they were about to close, almost everything was sold out. So I was only managed to get a coconut tart and a peanut mochi. Both were really good, you can taste that it’s really fresh, definitely not few day old. Second time went early to make I get the pineapple bun. The second time I was told if I get 6 items then I would get 13% off. And so I got assorted items, hot dog bun, pineapple bun, peanut mochi again, red bean mochi, coconut twisted bun and a chicken curry bun. I wish I had taken photos of all the items. But only remember to take the chicken curry bun and happened to be one I didn’t quite like. Everything was great! Again, taste really fresh, absolutely love it, especially if you heat them up slightly in the oven. The only thing I wouldn’t get again in the future like I said is the chicken curry bun, not sure if it’s not enough of the fillings or just the taste is not exactly what I like. Something is just not up to my liking. But again everything else is amazing! Do go when you’re nearby and remember to get 6 items!
I bought a white layer cake with whipped topping and mixed fruit, and it was delicious. The 7 inch cake costs $17 and the 9 inch costs $30, which is cheaper than at T&T, and it's also cheaper and superior to the cake that we had tried from Happy Cake House. Egg tarts here were $1.50 each. The pastry was flaky and delicious. When I went at noon on a Saturday, the egg tarts were fresh out of the oven, nice and warm and soft. The place is evidently very popular, as there were tons of customers when I was there. Each customer takes a tray and a pair of tongs to serve themselves from the various cases of pastries. The place smelled absolutely heavenly from the baked goods. I am deducting one star for the pricing, simply because I know there are places in Scarborough that are cheaper. I highly recommend this bakery for authentic Chinese pastries if you live in Mississauga.
Really love this bakery for fresh baked and delicious breads and sweets. Their fresh cream cakes are really nice, lot of icing but its not too sweet at all. The sizes are on the smaller size. I would recommend the mocha cake, coconut buns and tarts, and the coffee Swiss roll cake. Make sure to get there early and definitely check their times, things sell out really quickly. Also for all my muslims, the white bread and some other buns contain lard so if you can ask them before buying - shout out to the worker who told me, bummed out though because they used to not use it but after the owner changed they have.

Great establishment with a wide selection of buns and baked goods. Went here specifically for a variety of Chinese buns, and most were very good. Everything looked fresh, which is always a good thing to see at a bakery. My only gripe is with the buttercream buns: it would seem as though they have opted for a non-butter buttercream substitute—or perhaps a mix of butter and some other lipid—which has a waxy texture and doesn't melt on your tongue. The result is a tasteless waxy foam that sits uncomfortably in your mouth, the last layers of which require a hot beverage to fully remove. Anyone looking for buttercream buns will be disappointed here, but all else will likely love it.
Ok why haven’t I come here before! This is a tiny cake house in a plaza by the Erindale go station. We stopped here after having dinner. We went in 30 mins before closing so a lot of the stuff was already sold out. We picked up a few items that were there - coconut tart, mini custard bun, butter roll, chocolate mousse, mango mousse, sponge cake. They actually give you 13% off if you get 6 or more items. Every pastry we tried was simply amazing. The sponge cake was my favourite- it was so moist and fluffy and amazing. I would love to come back in the morning when there is a full stock and try more items!!
Used to be one of my favourite pastry shops. My family have been customers for close to 20 years, but the most recent change in ownership has really changed our minds. It just isn’t the same quality anymore. The pastries aren’t as fluffy or delicate, the Napoleons often look burnt and don’t have as many walnuts, the customer service isn’t great. Last time we bought cakes, the cake box wasn’t even taped and so things went everywhere when we tried to get the box out of the car….really disappointed. Will need to look for a new place.
This bakery is a classic, tried and true spot in Mississauga. My family has exclusively ordered birthday cakes from here for over 25 years and they have never once disappointed us. Their fruit cakes are so light, airy and fluffy and the icing is a fluffy whipped cream that is the perfect amount of sweet. I’ve also tried their Japanese cheescake, rolls cakes, and buns which are all incredible. Highly recommend as one of the best bakeries in the city.
I’ve been here a few times. The quality and consistency varies a bit. (They are very busy, and seem very rushed with such a small work space) I would avoid the Swiss rolls of any kind (purchased two times and both times the flavour wasn’t there and there were egg shells in the cream filling… not sure why since the cream shouldn’t contain egg, so cross contamination) That said, the buns of any kinda are great and the egg tarts are delicious!
I travel from Milton just for this place! They’re the best! I always buy hot dog, ham/cheese, pineapple etc buns. Always fresh and yummy!!! I try to go early (at opening or before noon) and they normally sell out by mid afternoon. I appreciate the low price as well. Buns average from $1.50-$3.50 for trays. At the outlet that place charges over $3 for a bun… I recommend!!
The best bakery for Chinese buns around.....period.

Extremely disappointed in their buns. I bought 3 chicken buns and 3 chicken curry buns (curry bun shown in picture). For $2 each, the amount of meat inside is laughable and honestly disgraceful! There was barely even a bite worth of actual chicken. Definitely not worth $2/bun. I was so disappointed in the quality that I will not be back here again.
Though quite unassuming, this place is an absolute gem. Everything is quite affordable, tastes great and comes with good service. We picked up 3 larger pastries and a flavoured roll cake for $11 flat. Be sure to try the raisin roll, the strawberry roll cake, the mango and coconut buns. Will have to try the mixed fruit cakes next time…
Love their egg tarts, pineapple bun, cocktail buns etc.

I used to live in Mississauga and any events I had always bought cake from here. Not once in my 20 years have I EVER been anything less then satisfied. Food is always fresh , yummy and cheap. Now I live one hour away and still make the drive !
I always buy the buns when I pass by that area because they are freshly made every day. They sell out quite fast, especially on the weekends. They are perfect for breakfast and tea. Not only do they sell buns, but they also sell cake. My
The variety of buns and related baked goods has fluctuated over the years but it's still a great place to pick up a snack or breakfast items. The general "staples" have always been the best bet for us (char-siu, sausage, almond, curry buns;
Love the buns and cake! Definitely a bakery that sells out quickly, I recommend that you come here early for freshly baked desserts, buns, and other dessert before they're all gone! However, for people with a nut allergy I caution you as
It was the first time I came this shop. I bought some buns and one strawberry cream roll there . The buns are nice . However there is some eggshell inside the roll. Hopefully the can have a concern and do more better next time.
Our go to place for fresh pineapple buns (polo bao). Never disappoints. The kids love the hot dog buns and the flaky egg tarts (if you’re lucky). Hits the spot and the price is better than most sub-par establishments.
I'm from London. Everytime I go home I always stop by to get buns. No matter how many I bring back they're all gone in a few days. Bought a mixed fruit cake with an assortment of buns. Everything was very good.
Excellent customer service and variety of cakes and buns. Freshly made. Ordered the mix fruit cake which was exceptional. The cream used was light and fresh. Variety of bakery products in reasonable prices.
I miss their pineapple buns that had a combination of custard, apple, pear, and pineapple filling. It was way better than the sloshy low effort pineapple filling every chinese bakery did in 1992 to 2010s.
I like big buns, and I cannot lie I got the bbq pork buns and pineapple pork buns, and both were very fresh and tasty . They didn't have many selections left when I got here at noon …
I’m going here since I was a little girl they always have amazing buns and pastries, and desserts. They have great prices, but make sure to come early. Otherwise they’ll be nothing left.
The best Chinese traditional bakery. We went there every two weeks, always busy so we always got the freshest buns and tarts. Thank you for making such yummy bakery.
Nice selection of coconut, custard and meat buns. Try the pork and pineapple buns! Japanese cheesecake is also good. Good value and friendly lady at the register.
Amazing little bakery with very high quality goods. I’d recommend going earlier in the day as it was quite slim pickings when we went about 40min before closing.
Small shop but lots of variety. I bought a fruit cake for my birthday. It was so delicious and fresh.nice service but nt git many vege patties iteams.
Their bakeries are especially fresh. Love their cheesecake and sold out quite often. No seating nor drinks though since the shop is small.
Their bakery items are great! And sell out quick. Fresh and delicious. But inflation is hitting us all. My box is missing some cake...
We got a fresh fuit cake for a birthday and it was fresh and delightful. Not too sweet as well. It'll be our go-to spot for cakes now.
They are usually sold out of the egg tarts by noon. Sadly. The mango fruit Swiss roll is absolutely amazing.

Always fresh. If you want the plain buns in a tray you have to order in advance due to its popularity!
I HAD A BAD experience to have a fake Chocolate Swiss Roll which is without enough cream inside.
Best place to get a cake for birthdays. They are so light and delicious.
