I am Charmaine van der Westhuizen and this is my nightmare experience. If I could give this ALERT REMMOVALS zero stars or minus stars, it will probably be around minus 100 stars! ALERT REMOVALS loaded my furniture and household goods, I followed them on route to Scottsburgh. When we arrived they refused to off load, claiming they were not paid. The driver asked me to go to the bank and request a signed and stamped Proof of Payment before they will off load my goods. I went to the bank and got an original stamped Proof of Payment proving payment was made. On arrival, I found that Alert Truckers "hijacked" my furniture and goods. When I called them, they refused to respond to my calls. I sent a message that I am going to the police to lay a case of theft against them. I was told that they were not afraid of the police and that they will bring my furniture and goods back if I pay them and additional R3500 in cash. I did go to the police and tried to report a case of theft. The police refused to assist me. I decided to pay the R3500 in cash, but told them I will only pay once my goods were loaded off and is in my house. I was told that they will bring my goods the next day. My husband is 69, myself 61 and another aged couple had to sleep on the floor without any blanket. The next day, after several phone calls, they arrived late in the afternoon. I noticed that the truck that arrived, was a different truck to the truck that our goods were loaded in. The driver, an Indian gentleman, hastily walked towards me and said to me to please go into my house he would like to speak to me. It later appeared that he wanted to warn me. Once inside the house, he spoke fast and told me not to resist, to pay the R3500 over and he promises that he will see to it that my goods will be off loaded. He also told me that a similar incident occurred and they were chased off a property of the person they tried to hold the customer in ransom as they did with us. I was further warned that there is some guns with some of the guys and that it will be unwise to resist. I paid the R3500. I asked him why they do this to people and he said it was not him, he is only following orders. I asked why my goods are in a different truck and he said that if I did not pay, they would have left with the goods that morning to another warehouse. He did not say where or what they would do with my goods. I assume, if I did not pay, they would have sold it. Some of my goods were carried into my property, and placed on the grass, but the majority was left on the pavement. I noticed, as we were unpacking the next day, that some of my furniture were badly damaged. There was also 2 bags and a suitcase of clothing, a nail kit (R1400), Printer, laptop, boxes of office files, leather jackets, boxes of kitchen goods, office goods and bedding, a bed, 32" TV and one of the fridges was stolen. My husband only noticed 2 days later that his toolbox was gone and several of his power tools. My washing machine was damaged beyond repair - all the out and inlet pipes were broken off inside the sockets. Alert Trucking is scam and con artists. If anyone gave this company 5 stars, it is fake reviews. These people are not to be trusted. We feared for our safety and we lost over R30,000 worth of goods to them, not including the R3500 they demanded as ransom. I will not recommend their service to my most hated enemy!!!!!!! They treated us very bad, refused to let us even have our bedding and some pillows, not to mention the humiliation in front of our neighbors!!! What a nightmare experience and total disgrace how they pensioners. ALERT is a very fitting name! Please be ALERT, these are scammers and con artists, thieves with hidden agendas. This is their modus operandi - they hijack your truck to get to your goods to ransack you and demand more payment to release the remaining goods. This is the reason the driver wanted me to go to the bank - to give them time to get away so that I cannot stop them from leaving.

ALERT REMOVALS / AMALGAMATED MOVERS. Good day All. Moving houses was supposed to be a joyous occasion and using so called 'removers' is supposed to make the process easier.. However I cannot say that this was the experience with Alert Removals / Amalgamated movers. They market their company as if they have years of experience and their quotes are actually more than big moving company's. This gives you the impression that their services are excellent however experience proves otherwise. Their quotation includes amougst others : Transit Insurance; Bubble wrap for certain small items; plastic wrap for all your goods; setting of furniture. However this is absolute false. They did not use any bubble wrap on any item and neither did they plastic wrap 'ALL the items". Many expensive items were it plastic wrapped and when we insisted on it being wrapped they simply said that they will cover it with a blanket. We are talking amoungst others a new Grafton Everest lounge set. This was left unwrapped and exposed to possible tears and dirt. To add to this we were advised that the load would be done over 2 - 3 loads in the 3 ton truck. Keeping in mind that we previously used an 8 ton truck for the same items and the truck was full.. They therefore cramped everything into one load to avoid doing further trips. There was high valued items that were all packed on top of each other. To add to this, their employees refused to wear masks and we had to insist on this and provided same for their use. Their employees are further extremely rude and have no way of handling the items. There is absolutely no consideration of the customers items... The chery on the top is the damage to our 58" smart tv. This TV was previously transported and bubble wrapped. We made many attempts to ask the employees to please bubble wrap it again to make sure that it is not damaged and they point blank refused to do this. They did not inspect the TV before loading, despite calling themselves a 'Removal company'. Upon offloading it was discovered that the TV was severely cracked and damaged to the point of no repair!!!! Their offices then advised that they would refer it to insurance. They then responded stating that "they are not taking any liability as the TV was already bubble wrapped before them loading and they are not sure when it was cracked".When advised that I am an Attorney and will take Legal action if they do not settle the damages, I was told that " I must do what I need to" Their employees further constantly complained about working long hours and never being paid overtime. THEREFORE I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO MAKE USE OF THEIR SERVICES, EVEN IF IT'S FREE. I will be taking legal action against their company and invite any department of labour official to also visit their premises for legal compliance.

Absolutely dreadful people to work with - STAY AWAY. I suspect some of the 5 star reviews are FAKE ACCOUNTS. Here's how my experience panned out: I needed a piano moved. The company gave me a time for collection 7:30AM. On the night before the move, this time was changed to 12:00PM (4.5 hr delay). On the actual day, these people were still not at the collection point by 13:30 (6hr delay). I had to call to press them for a collection time, but the phone was answered by what sounded like a 6 year old child - very professional!. Finally, at around 14:00 the truck collected the piano. At the delivery address, as the movers were maneuvering into the house, they banged the piano against my front door. The door now does NOT close as the hinges are bent... thanks guys, now i have to spent MORE money to fix YOUR incompetence. The lady on the phone had initially indicated that the company also tunes the piano on arrival. When I asked about this on the day of delivery, she denied any such claims. These guys are happy to take your money, but don't expect anything close to professional. STAY AWAY FROM THESE FLY BY NIGHT JOKERS

Alert removals is not reliable ; I will not recommend them to any body . Their service is extremely poor . They stole my reading chair in transit. Last month December 2019 , i used alert removal and they damaged the following Items of mine: 1) My LG TV , flat screen . My TV has multiple cracks on Screen, badly damaged 2) My Sub woofer was damaged 3) My TV stand was damaged 4) My Sofa was damaged 5 ) My glass plates and glass cups were damaged , just to mention a few . 6) Very poor service from the admin to the boys on the floor . Horrible set of human beings . I had a very bad ecperience with .Beware of them.

I moved a split load with half moving to another home in Zimbali and half moving to Ramsgate on the South Coast. All went well until I discovered 2 sets of Apple AirPods had been stolen by the crew when we moved. I took this issue up with Marcus and he promised to replace them and was very apologetic. Unfortunately he has never replaced them and now never answers my calls. I gave his crew a generous tip as well as a longe suite and a bar but it didn’t seem to matter to Marcus or his team. I warn anyone who even consider using this company. They steal!!! Beware!!!!!’

They are the worst company to work with .. they promise an negotiate with prices .. they man power is weak .. ..they have inexperienced handlers .. they transported my stuff from JHB to DBN 1 day before lock down .. they damaged my brand new fridge an my couches.. then to be told the accessor will come out and do what needs to from there side .. to my surprise he turned out to be there truck driver who clearly told me it was negligency from the guys.. and then to be told sorry they cant do anything regard my damages... a bunch of thiefs in my eyes.

Extremely unsatisfied. TNJ Movers is just an agent, they uses Alert Removals, total un-professional, extremely poor service. They basically just dump my furniture at the new place, stack everything on top of each other, do not care if things marked Fragile, poorly wrap the items, lot of scuff marks, dents and chips on furniture pieces. Still busy to try and get them to pay for my damaged furniture that was purely damaged because they loaded heavy items on tot of it. Never ever use any of these 2 companies, Alert Removals or TNJ Movers.

Absolutely amazed with these guys, I have used Alert Removals before, and each time I am impressed. The team carefully wrapped and protected all my non-boxed items, moved it out and back into my new place within a timeframe that surprised me. Each person in the team was friendly and so professional. Mary and Shinese were my points of contact in the office, and they were just wonderful. Marcus Supervised the move, and I was super impressed. Thank you guys, for making my move so much easier than i thought it would be.

0 Stars for this company. Be very careful! I used Alert removals to do my removals and was most disappointed with the efficiency of the service. A lot of damage to my property but worst of all THEFT!!! Apparently the staff has a noted history of stealing whilst in removal and you only realize this much later after they have left. Several items was stolen by the removal staff. It's almost 2xmonths now and they are silent and have not done a thing as yet! Don't use them...most unprofessional.

We recently moved house and used Alert Removals. Their service was not only affordable but also efficient and professional. The quick and cheerful workers took care of wrapping household items expertly, making the entire process a pleasure. Highly recommended for anyone in need of a smooth and hassle-free move!

They are very professional and efficient. We used them to move my mom several years ago and we are now using them to move our personal home in two stages. They are great would not consider using anyone else! They make it look so easy and it just seems to make the whole experience as stress free as possible!

Not professional. Dont phone u back...i had to always phone them. One occasion Mary put me on hold as she said i got another call.. .surely i am the customer. . Help me with my query first....price given for sending my furniture was double the price....of other quotes....

Alert are very profesional in the move no problems at all I suggest you get a quote you will be surprised. Every bit of furniture bubble wrapped. And to top it all I had a rainy day move and all my contents were water proof.

We’ve done three moves with Alert Removals, the team are professional, helpful and friendly. The items were all wrapped for protection. An excellent company for moving. Thank you for your great service.

They arrived 4 hours late. When I went through some small boxes containing ornaments we had brought to the new place I found that one of my crystal ornaments had been stolen.

Affordable and the vehicle was sufficient for our household items. They are very rough though and I would advise being around to supervise them for the safety of your items

The movers stole items from the house and have not received any feedback from the company. Criminal case it's in a process of being registered. Not recommended

I had to throw away one furniture item because it had been poorly handled and broken in places. One of my boxes had a hole large enough for a hand to enter.

Be careful if you really need to use them. They quote one price, cheaper than everyone else then charge extras without you agreeing to it.

Excellent supervisor. Team is not particular about goods - very rough with some items when they thought I wasn't watching.
