DAVID NEEDS RETIREMENT. I took my dogs there over the course of a couple years. And I hate myself for not switching my pet care sooner. David King needs to retire. Like now. He’s pompous, rude, arrogant, and has absolutely zero bedside manner for pet owners. The pandemic has seemingly made him even more selfish and rude. He walks around like he’s some sort of God. They also overbook their day and regardless of your appointment time - you will have to wait **at least** 20 min after your actual slot. He’s money-grubbing and lacks sincere care for animals. If your pet is at end of life, he won’t let you be at their side for the final moments - “due to covid”. I’m now happily at a vet where ironically my dog’s skin issues and other chronic problems have suddenly disappeared. And off all daily meds. And regardless of a pandemic, when Henry passes, my new vet will absolutely allow me to be with my him when that time comes. Which is likely sooner than later. David King is an absolute hack. Customer service has passed him by - he’s old school in all the worst ways. Avoid this Vet at all costs. (Which I can assure you will be high!) Especially if you’re a woman as he doesn’t seem to like us much either. (Speaking from my own experience and others who I know have gone to him.)
In Feb/March I "applied" to about four vets local to me. Only one had the courtesy to call me back and that was All Pets. Lisa called me within 24 hours and I knew after speaking to her that this was the clinic for me - she was helpful, kind and couldn't do more for me. Since then I've had superb service and treatment for my cat, who came to live with me last June. I knew I had to make him mine and be a responsible pet owner with vaccinations and neutering. David discovered that he was chipped, so belonged to someone else, but Lisa took the time while I was there to contact the owner who very kindly agreed to let me take him on. I was given the chip details, able to transfer him into my name, and then I booked him in for neutering a week later. Veterinary surgery has come a long way since I last used a vet (the 80's) and he was back with me six hours later, with no scar or healing necessary - a superb job by David. I'm going to board my cat with All Pets, as I have received nothing but excellent service from start to finish. They answer the phone within three rings and can change an appointment to suit. The only thing I would like is a text reminder of an appointment, but other than that I can't fault them.
Our pup was seen by David King (I dread it when that happens). We only required the flea/tick vials but she had to have an appointment which cost £75! In order to get the medication, she naturally had to be weighed, in order to be weighed Mr King insisted on not one but TWO muzzles. He has absolutely NO affinity with animals. He is mean! I have recently watched some lovely TicTok videos of vets who go out of their way to make pets feel at ease but not him...We have spent considerable time turning an extremely nervous dog, into a chilled, calm, happy one - she did not bark, growl or complain. Our pup was traumatised - shaking, nervous and we had to pay £75 for her to be tortured like this. Mr King is not a caring soul, he is greedy and seems to thrive on animal and owner anxiety. He is patronising and condescending. I'm sure he actually believes he is the new Steve Irwin, when in fact he is Cruella DeVille! Our pup won't be returning PS - get the prescription and buy the medication on line Mr King marks it up x3
Disappointing, David clearly did not care for my kitten and was very indifferent, I do not believe he is an animal lover at all. My kitten had ear mites, David ended up prescribing Surolan, which contains no active ingredient for treating ear mites: miconazole nitrate - anti-fungal polymyxin B sulphate - anti Bacterial prednisolone acetate - anti-inflammatory It can treat ear mites but needs to be applied 2 weeks TWICE A DAY as instructed on the leaflet - David advised 1 week only. This treatment is just about as good as any home remedy, mineral oil, olive oil or hand sanitiser (results in 2-3 days with this method, apparently). Upon requesting more effective medicine such as Milbemite/Acarrex containing the active ingredients for killing mites (which only needs to be applied ONCE every 2 weeks for 3 weeks) they insisted that Surolan was better for my kitten. I don't understand, if I am happy to pay for medicine, why do they insist my kitten suffers for 2 weeks?
I took our new kitten, to start with the veterans were not friendly. After we told him he is our new kitten That I am worried about flee not sure if he has. We only have him for a week and the person who gave us done all flee medication... He took our cut inside with his receptionist closing the door. I was shocked because I expect that I should be with our cat, he came back and said the cat has a lot of fleeing and I can treat him and you buy house spray ( he pointed out from his counter. When I ask how much the spray was £35, I check on Amazon, it cost only £8.98, when I ask him why is it too expensive he said if you wish you can buy from Amazon our is good quality And then he charged me £105. Disgusting service, I was told the cheak up costs £55 at the time I booked now when he said he will treat him for flee I did not expect that much when I medication is £4-7. I am not sure even what he did behind closed door to our cat. Maybe nothing. Im
I got an emergency appointment in 45mins on a Friday evening before a bank holiday after my 7 months French Bulldog, Oreo, spent the last 24h vomiting. David was amazing. He is the kind of doctor I looked for here in London for months now and I couldn’t find. He seems to truly care and has such a funny and laid down approach. He gave some meds to oreo and gave availability to meet tomorrow again if need being or on Tuesday morning if he still wouldn’t get better. David was however very reassuring. I think I finally found a permanent practise for my dog. Prices are a little higher for meds tho but I am happy to pay a little more considering the quality of service. The receptionist as well super lovely and helpful. Thanks, Ludovico
Even though I have been a client for 25 years, I don' t think I will go back. Latest experience was very negative: £58 to check a cat ( the boss took 3 minutes)then told me to come back on Tuesday at 10 to pick up the travel form ,(£158). Tuesday am, it was not ready. My husband ( elderly and disable) went back at 5pm and he was left to wait outside for 30 mns in the freezing cold. He finally got the form which had been filled out WRONGLY. Thank goodness , the staff at Eurotunnel was kind and understanding and let us through . The boss had always been nice and caring with our previous pet. But twice this week we were a bit disturbed by the tone.
Fantastic service from All Pets. We had been bringing our dog to Vets4Pets for months, constantly back and forth with no answers so we decided to get a second opinion and within a matter of weeks David and his team have found the cause of my labradors allergies and have been absolutely brilliant each step of the way, even calling in to check on Barney whilst we were awaiting results. You simply don't get service like this in most places anymore, a real animal loving Clinic who genuinely care about every pet they see. Thanks so much, we couldn't have asked for more!
This place has a horrible receptionist, but the actual vets are fantastic people, taking good care of animals! We had an appointment with the kitten, forced to wait outside at sub-zero cold, constantly being snapped at “We’ll be with you shortly”. This was after appointment time. Instead of apologies, I was told that I was abusive by "holding a hand too long on the intercom" and "throwing these looks". We will never use this clinic again, not until they do something with their appalling customer service! Once again, the vets are perfectly friendly and fine!
Horrible experience - AVOID. The vet (Dr David King) refused to examine my dog, who tends be get overexcited when first meeting people - Dr King made no attempt to familiarise himself with the dog, decided he could not work with the dog within less than a minute, and still charged me for a full consultation. Also didn’t seem to care or listen when being told the medical history and was very condescending. Seems like there are others who have had the same experience - would not waste your time, try a different vet in the area.
My insurance company informed me they received the information so the claim went through. So without this issue, they were kind and nice. ———- My cat insurance company requested details to them for my claim but they didn’t send the details so my claim has not been succeeded. Even after many attempts by myself and the insurance company. They were nice when they took care of my cat but still it’s unacceptable they didn’t do the job for my insurance claim so it made me pay full although I have been paying the insurance.
Vet was so abrupt and showed no compassion I was very upset about my new puppie being ill he sent me home with my sick baby saying go to emergency vet in Victoria as he could do nothing as it was a sat gave him sickness injection which did not work and 2 tins of dog food !!!!!!!!!!!!! I told him that my insurance runs out on the Mon and I'm going to find it difficult to pay he SAID YOU BOUGHT THE DOG THIS IS THE CONSEQUENCES YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH it puppy has now passed away devastated
Hi all, well I have had to visit ALL PETS a few times and have always found them all, Staff and Vets very helpful and most importantly very friendly / understanding while dealing with some very tricky situations regarding much loved pets. Pricing seems to be reasonable but like all things that's depending on your issues at hand. Parking is a little tricky but i have been lucky (touch wood) so far !All in all very happy with them and the service they give. Hope this helps. Best to all
I used this practice for my dog from 2012/2013 - 2016 when he passed away from cancer. I stayed with this practice due to the vet who worked there, she eventually left to work at another practice. I found the owner cold and uncaring at a time when we needed his support. This resulted in me using an emergency vet and having my dog put to sleep by another vet. Should I ever get a dog again I will not be using this practice and I’m disappointed by his behaviour. .
David and his team looked after our wonderful cat from the time we collected him from Cats Protection League through to the day he died. We experienced professional and compassionate expertise throughout, from grass seeds in his eye, operations due to fight wounds and then through to palliative care. We miss our cat terribly but are comforted in that he had the best care possible. When we have another pet, David will certainly be our vet of choice.
Dr David King was by far the most compassionate, caring and thoughtful vet my Iguana and I have ever had the privilege of working with. He dealt with us swiftly but with the utmost care, consideration and personal attention, truly a top notch individual and experience. I can not recommend Dr King and his clinic enough, not only the best in North West but the best I’ve ever experienced in general, BY FAR! 5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I can't thank Chris and the team enough for their kindness and expertise with my new rescue dog. I initially went to register her and get travel sickness medication. Just 24hrs later I had to take her back with an ear infection. Chris was extremely gentle with her which I feel goes a long way towards allaying her fear of men Thank you Chris and the lovely team of nurses and reception staff. My utmost respect to you all.
All pets has looked after our cat through his hyper active thyroid illness. They recommended an operation which was the more expensive option with risk. David did a fantastic job getting the operation just right. Tux now has a new lease of life and it is great to have his old self back. All Pets looked after Tux and his family brilliantly from start t finish. All pets also does a competitive great kennel service.
Both my sister and I have taken our cats to David and his team for many years and have always received dedicated professional care and support. Through the ups and downs of owning and loving our cats this practice has been stalwart in providing excellent advice and all services required - from tooth cleaning to emergency surgery. I highly recommend this practice to all of us who love our pets.
The staff here is very nice and helpful. I have 2 cats and had to take them there 3 tiles in the last few months and every time I called them they managed to get me an appointment in the following hour ! Also very clear and helpful when providing treatment, and I was always involved in the process. Careful, due to COVID-19, they can only allow one person in at a time, so call beforehand!
Not sure with the bad reviews here. I've been coming to David's surgery with my pets for over 20 years and he's shows nothing but compassion. When my last cat died suddenly at home, all the staff were perfect and grieved with us. Right now we have a cat whose leg is a bit poorly. The vets are taking us through every option to see what's causing it. Couldn't ask for a better veterinary.
Absolutely lovely vet! Really friendly helpful staff. Tooth extraction, one large tooth, all medications including Antibiotics and Anti inflammatory medication , Blood Tests, and worming done for £260.00. Would highly recommend !! Please note due to Covid restrictions only one person allowed in at a time. You may be waiting outside. Wrap up warm, or drive and wait in your car.
A real community vet practice. Welcoming and clearly passionate. David is a fantastic character and I’ve never trusted a vet more. Cannot recommend this practice enough. They take the time to explain everything even with the pressures of running the place with covid around. Thank you guys. From one highly anxious pet owner who’s never felt as relaxed or fully informed.
Would highly recommend. Been coming here for 12 years with my cat and 7 with my dog. I've always been very happy with the care my pets have received by David King and the team. They are very experienced with a high level of expertise and I have absolute confidence in them. Staff are all polite and professional and prices are reasonable. Excellent vets overall.
Today was a very sad day for our family. Our gorgeous dog of 14 years old needed to be put down. David & Camilla came to our house, as we wanted all our family to be with him when he died. I can't stress enough how professional and empathetic they both were. I want to thank them both for making an horrendous day a bit more bearable
Horrible experience! I booked for my 5 years old Japanese Akita and the vet was very rude from the start, he wouldn’t see her because she barked at him (she’s not aggressive dog) at the end he said he doesn’t trust Japanese Akita’s. Why they let me book her at first place. Not sure if this guy is a real very never seen such a thing.
Very good place to take your dog as the vet cares for your pup. I’ve been offered 3 in 1 treatment for my pup and this is the best on the market . £18 per month sounds a lot but for fluffy pup like mine it worked really well . So happy that I’ve visited this clinic and will continue visiting . Would definitely recommend .
Bad Communication!!! I called and asked to see a bird's specialist. Than when I went to the clinic i found out the doctor was a general vet. If that was not enough the doctor (David) was very arrogant and not paying attention to my concerns about the bird. Very disappointing experience!
All Pet's on Sidmouth Parade is a fantastic clinic with friendly staff and a very professional and knowledgeable approach to giving one's pet the proper care it needs. Always a surprisingly calm and easy experience taking our very active kitten in to see Dave the vet. Highly recommend!
Wow first puppy and I thought they were amazing , David took the time to explain and talk through all options. I have and other pets and cats all my life and David and his team where the first ever where I felt so comfortable and so did honey ! Impeccable service and experience
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. worst vet I’ve ever been to. The vet will drain you of your money and give you very little of his time to care for your pet. He’s rude and has awful bedside manner. The staff is too busy to send across test results because they’re understaffed.
Didn't want to help me as I was with my little girl who, I was unwilling to leave outside. I understand that during the current climate there should be restrictions but no understanding was shown. Vet was very rude so we left. Will go to a more understanding vet
My bf and I took his dog in and received a great level of care and the cost was reasonable. We were asked to wait outside and the weather wasn’t great. That did stress me out but totally understandable during these times.
Super Caring - Pets are the priority at this clinic, Lucie's pain, anxiety and fear were calmed, and controlled. She had surgery and is recovering and with all the right support to help us get there - THANK YOU
The costs are much higher than other vets around the area, and the medication is 2.5 times more expensive than when bought in store. The care of my pet was less than satisfactory too. Never again.
The receptionist let me down!! I call regarding a cat I am fostering, she didn't let me explain the situation and told me she'll call me back, took my phone number , but never received a call.
David and his team especially Eddie , where very kind and caring in dealing with my old Budgie Benjamin. Even though in the end he didn’t make it , they were kind and compassionate to the end
Lovely vets but some vet nurses not particularly professional, hence minus one star. If it wasn't for the lovely vets I wouldn't be back. Slightly expensive so will probably head elsewhere.
Veterinary Nurses + Administrators are always polite + helpful over the phone especially when you attend appointments! Vets are thorough, sympathetic + sensitive to your pets needs.
Poor.My daughter and I had to wait in the rain and when allowed in ,only one of us could go in.i waited 20 minutes to be seen whilst my cat was distressed. The mannerism is awful.
The reception staff are just so lovely and sweet very welcoming, The vet her self is just amazing she explains everything in detail to you and makes your pet top priority ❤️
Worse place ever they gave my vaccine for my kitten away and called told me a week later they run out the worse place ecer don’t take your pets there. Nasty place
My cat was well taken care of..although I did find one of the vet rough handed with him on one occasion... Overall I would return.
They looked after my Oscar and thunder for years now and we could not have asked for more caring people for our family members.
Our cat Enzo had his booster vaccination the staff were very kind and helpful and the vet gave Enzo a thorough health check
Excellent care for your pets. Our two cats have been neutered, treated for cuts and annual checkups with good expertise
service is rubbish, they didn’t want to help me because I was with my 4 year old daughter. service was disgusting.
Been bringing my cats to David and his team for years now. They are friendly, caring, practical and reliable.
The worst vet ever make you wait outside in the cold and rain just looking for money Plz avoid this place
Wonderful people working there, clear prices with no hidden fees and cat came back home untraumatised :)
David and his staff are amazing always great with our little dog Milo would highly recommend them
Always a straight forward easy visit. Well looked after and my dog loves the attention she gets.
Overpriced and a smug owner with a dreadful manner towards pet owners and their sick animals.
They have taken wonderful care of my dog over the past 5 years - highly recommend!
Only went in to register new dog and make an appointment. They seem very nice
Great place to take your loved pet. Nice people at All Pets Veterinary !
It's ok... but the prices are depending on your paying abilities ...
Would not recommend, been here and did not have a great experience
Vets are fantastic. But found the lady on the reception very rude.
So caring and considerate. Really exceptional staff and Vets.
Took my crow and to my surprise they fixed her! Thank you!
Fast service and very friendly staff. Highly recommended!
