Just wanted to 100% recommend this vet hospital. Pictured below are my boys that are my absolute everything. We were able to get our cats seen for a last minute appointment with Dr. Prioleau, and the vet quickly calmed us down and explained we had nothing to worry about with our boys, They just play rough, but are otherwise healthy. (we are a bit of hypochondriacs about our cats and golden ). For the first time ever we were not sent home with meds and instead were given info about signs to look for that warranted vet visits. That is HUGE to me because it shows the care we received was genuine and nothing extra was added to our bill for the sake of it. He and all the staff we encountered gave friendly conversation and patiently listened as we discussed pets we wanted in the near future. And my favorite part is that our cat Jack, who was starting to become extremely aggressive at our previous vet (not sure why)… LOVED ALL THE STAFF AT ARK!! Our previous vet understandably wanted to slightly sedate our cat for safety reasons, but our Jack quickly took to the staff at Ark and rubbed all over them and let everyone pet him. He didnt mind his exam AND still rubbed on the vet after the exam was complete ♥️♥️♥️ We can’t wait to take our golden here. We know he’s going to love the staff!! They are located right next to aldi and behind cookout. So if yall need fantastic pet health care.. GO TO ARK!! I met almost all the staff and told them that after such an awesome experience that I would gladly tell everyone about them because they deserve it. Plus I saw some cool pets I dont normally see at the vet! I have since told all my neighbors about our fantastic experience, and posted in every local online group I am in that this is where pet owners need to go for their pet health care Thank you!! This vet was referred to us by our adoption agency. We dropped our puppy off at 7:45 AM and were told that he would be ready for pick up between 3 and 4 PM. To be honest i thought this was just a worse case scenario and they would have him sooner since the procedure shouldn't take more than 30 minutes. Come 3 PM I had not heard anything and was starting to get concerned so I decided to head that way. I arrive at 3:30 PM and they had still not taken him back to start the procedure and stated that they would need to hold him for another couple of hours. I was unable to pick up my puppy until after 6PM. Needless to say I was livid. My puppy likely sat in a cage for almost 10 hours and had also not eaten since 7 pm the previous night, or drank any water since 9PM, per the clinic's instructions. My wife works from home and spends a lot of time with him so this was a new and traumatizing experience for him to be locked up alone for almost 10 hours. They claimed they had a couple emergencies and while I completely understand those take precedence, the empathetic thing to do would have been to call pet owners, inform them of the situation and let them decide whether they would want to keep their pets at there or pick them up and re-schedule their procedure. I would have happily chosen the latter had I been properly informed of the situation. This clinic demonstrated a lack of compassion, communication, empathy and action were borderline animal cruelty. I fear that this traumatizing event for our animal will ultimately have an effect of how they perceive the vet in the future. I would strongly suggest choosing another clinic for your animal's needs.

Dont take your animals here, the doctors do not have the patients best interest in mind at all. They dont know a darn thing about simple pain treatments for patients and seem to be living in the stone age, patients are left in the back on their own for long periods of time unwatched. I dropped my animals off for spay/neuter early morning and nothing was done till late evening and i wasn’t notified of anything. The meds they gave my pups for pain was clearly nowhere near sufficient and my vet tech friend even said “what the heck were they thinking??”There is an extreme lack of communication between all staff members and nobody is on the same page when it comes to anything.. Nobody knows what pricing is supposed to be on things, even the owners who make them and charge top quality price and give mcdonalds quality service. The doctors run around like chickens with their heads cut off like they dont know what theyre doing and need a mother. I have heard many very troubling things from friends and neighbors since my experience and i felt it was necessary to share to help save anyone elses furry friends from terrible experiences they do not deserve to go through. OUR ANIMALS DESERVE BETTER!!! Go somewhere else this place is a dumpster fire with zero guidance and just wants to empty your pockets.

Brought our cat in after an accident as an emergency visit on Sat. The cat couldn’t bear any weight on his back left leg. It was clearly not straight. After examining him inc X-rays, we were told the X-rays looked fine. No explanation as to why he was dragging his leg behind him or elaborated on what could be the problem. Never acknowledged the bleeding foot as a result of a nail that was completely ripped off either. We had discovered it afterwards. Given pain meds and sent home. I wanted a second opinion and had the X-rays sent to my vet. Anyone with common sense could CLEARLY see that his hip was dislocated on the images!!! I was completely flabbergasted! After addressing this with an owner on Monday, the only response I received regarding the X-ray was “well I was not there on Saturday.” No apology or ANY accountability for it!! WTH!?!?! Do yourself a favor and make sure you see a vet who can actually read X-rays! Must have skipped class during anatomy!

they killed my alpha and llama + filing complaint with NC vet board!! I used them twice, 1st time my llama was not getting up, so called them coming to my farm. When they arrived, they told me that it is too late to save the llama. I should call them right away if I found animal is not normal. So trusting them and paid them about $500.00 to have the llama putting into sleep. After 6 month, my alpaca is not getting up just like the llama, so I called them first day I found the situation. They came around 7pm, then told me the alpaca is just having a fever, so they do some shot and transfer some liquid to the alpaca and told me it should be fine. Next morning, my alpaca is dead for hours! For 2 visit, I paid them almost $1000.00 and got 2 dead animals value over $4000.00. Just like to share my experience.

Just dropped off my chihuahua here, for first visit. Seem to be well staffed. Was taken right away and vet tech got weight, etc. Dr. Prioleau did prelim exam and explained what we were looking at, dental wise. Little dog will be getting shots updated and rabies vaccine as well as teeth cleaning. Hope this works out well because over $800 for this check up and shots and dental. The dental is expensive because they have to sedate/knock out the dog to do dental cleaning. ARK is a new vet practice, so will be interesting to see how this works out. So far, I'm satisfied by what I've seen, but not real happy about the price. They are $100 to $200 more expensive than most other vets in the area. Guess we'll find out if it's worth it.

Bringing my old lady in for a surgery was tough and expensive. I am not local to this location. For the awesome ability to exceed price matching and friendliness that goes beyond the words I could muster, I'll travel to this location in a heartbeat. They kept in touch with me throughout the procedure which meant alot because I've never left my service animal for longer than a grooming session and never for a procedure where I had to choose CPR/DNR. The location, staff and everything you could think of left me feeling much easier throughout the waiting period and my girl is recovering beautifully. These extra stars are for Ark. I could only give five on Google, but you deserve extra.

This animal hospital is so nice! Everyone that works here is friendly and loves the animals in their care. The clinic itself is decorated so pretty and modern in black and pink. My dogs have seen Dr. Derrick Prioleau and Dr. Kevin Scruggs. They both are extremely knowledgeable. My dogs love going there, and do not shake in fear like they have at other vet offices. Recently, Dr. Scruggs removed a tumor from one of my dogs. He kept me informed of everything that was happening with the surgery and explained what was found once the results came back from the tumor report. He was so kind and understanding of my dogs being like children to me.

I really don’t have enough good things to say about this practice. I work with a local rescue and they literally save our dogs and cats every day of the week 24/7. The doctors are super compassionate and very friendly. The staff is amazing and their scheduling is very very accommodating. They handle everything from basic wellness visits to emergencies and they also do Large animal which is crazy convenient when you’re addicted to animals like I am. Could not ask for a better group of people. give them a call set your animals up for an exam. They are amazing 10 out of 10 highly recommend.

I have been taking my foster dog to Ark. They performed his initial amputation ( the foster was found hit by a car by animal control) and my foster recovered quickly and keeps up with my second, very athletic foster dog. My little boy also got bitten on the face by a Copperhead just a few weeks after the leg amputation. Ark watched over him that night and when I picked him up the next day, he was back to his playful, happy self, only slightly swollen. See pic.

Amazing. Their staff is incredible. I walked in with a dog from a rescue that was in a lot of pain (had been dumped at CMAC injured). Their front desk staff were so kind and and sweet getting me checked in and right into a room to see the doctor. The Doctor was gentle and treated her incredibly. Walked me through the treatment options and made me feel fully comfortable leaving her in their care. I can’t recommend them enough!

My son and I had a wonderful visit today with Dr. Scruggs. We brought in our dehydrated pit-mix for a well visit. Dr. Scruggs was super friendly and helpful throughout the process. The Ark staff was wonderful as well and totally patient with our loud canine. We will definitely be back for the next check up. I brought my rabbit in to be spayed. They were able to schedule me on short notice and accommodated having the evaluation exam and surgery appointment on the same day. The staff was super friendly and made sure I had all the info I needed for appropriate after care. I really appreciated the follow-up call the next day to see how she was recovering.

I would not bring my animal here to be seen by the doctors! The lack of genuine concern, care, and empathy is astonishing! They also don’t practice good medicine and are exorbitantly overpriced, compared to other animal hospitals and clinic in the area. Will not be referring or ever coming back here again!

The doctors and staff were amazing. Professional and caring are two words that come to mind. A bad situation became easier to handle because of ARK and I am eternally grateful to them for all their efforts. I recommend them to anyone that needs pet services. They are the best at what they do.

New puppy, and on a budget. Came in, asked about pricing, was told to check when we needed service. Called to ask about a nail trim, was quoted $25. AFTER the trim, we were told the real bill was $65. Felt tricked. Do not trust prices quoted here. They refused to honor price quoted.

I own a loving but quirky difficult dog. She doesn't bite but barks and is over protective of me. The staff here were very understanding and good with her. She is over 100 pounds combined with craziness. I am so happy the Ark came to East Charlotte. I highly recommend them.

Vets and techs take their time with you. It's stupid expensive, but they take 'intact' pets, so it is what it is. Spent $100 on a test for my dog they convinced me he needed...he didn't he's perfectly fine and that's what the test said

I brought in my ferret today Cooper. The staff was so kind. They didn't harass me to buy anything extra like some vets do. Dr.Priloeau was super sweet and answered all my questions and I learned a few things about ferrets. ~Maria

Curtis Miller went ABOVE and beyond to make my mother and I feel welcomed. He provided a tour of the huge, clean and exceptionally beautiful facility! I am happy to have joined this vet and look forward to being my fur baby in.

I visited them today because my dog was having some ear troubles, and I had a great experience! Very easy to get an appt right now since they just opened, and all the staff was very sweet and attentive to us. Def recommend.

Awesome place., a family bird was in distress and had a large access. They took very good care of him and made sure to make sure he was comfortable. They have excellent care service and are very friendly.
