Me & a group of friends decided to visit Ariona Day Spa on Heritage Day for some good quality time & rejuvenating spa treatments. Firstly we were met by our host in a blue floral dress & she couldn’t be bothered to take us around neither was she interested in serving us welcome drinks! She proceeds to take us to the changing rooms & told us to wait on a couch nearby. She then ushered us into the coffee area where we had our pick of coffee tea or water … then nothing! After a while I requested that one of the staff please remind our hostess that we are still waiting on her… she made her way back to us & looked at us as if to say so I’m here what do you want? I then said I’m sorry we are waiting on you to tell us what is next & what is our program for the day as we had booked a few treatments each! After rolling her eyes at us she said she needed our lunch order as the cafe takes really long to prepare the meals. We were then directed to our treatment room where we were all shoved into the same room with our beds lined up next to each other, eventho my friends & I enjoy being together we do appreciate our privacy as well. To add to this the room was clearly an empty space which they decided to put 4 beds in with nothing else in the room! To further add insult to injury none of our therapists were briefed on the treatments we had booked & had to pay a deposit for upfront. When we enquired about when lunch would be served we were distinctly told after our treatments were done. We waited for what seemed like ages before the waiter eventually came to get our drinks order shortly followed by our food which was cold & dried out & when we enquired about the waiter told us that our hostess ordered our food a while ago & that food was ready over an hour ago. With no offer to reheat our food & some items missing we proceeded to have cold dried out tasteless food so that we could leave. When we got to the front desk not just was our bill incorrect we had to explain to the front desk staff that they captured the incorrect treatments, once again we were met with the front desk staff & each of them had a vacant stare on their faces. This ordeal lasted nearly an hour before the staff finally understood & corrected the bill. Due to this awful experience it is unlikely that I will come back to Ariona Day Spa. Disappointed Patron

I had a booking with Aronia Day Spa for my 4th Year Anniversary. When I got there, their security Guard closed the gate on my BMW. They first didn't believe me, once they saw the footage they accepted the responsibility and asked me to get quotes for the damage. I've sent quotes and till this day the matter has not been resolved. Customer service is not just for the service rendered but for every responsibility that rests on Aronia Spa. Their brokers and insurers are just as pathetic. I'd honestly say that their actual services were good, but if they can't deal with something as simple as an insurance claim, then I'd never go back or recommend this place to anyone. This is a simple bumper damage claim, imagine if something more serious takes place, it will probably never be dealt with. Reply: Service is not just your willingness to help, I've been lied to. The incident took place on the 20th of March. Your employee was handling the matter, and yes with willingness to help, however your employee ensured me it was being dealt with, but when I took the case number to your insurer, they said the case had only been submitted last week, which is 2 weeks after the incident. This is why I'm not pleased with yoru customer service. Because it's you that needs to cough up money now, suddenly the customer service goes out the window. It shouldn't take 25 days to pay a claim. I will not be claiming from my insurance for this cause then I must pay excess and my premiums go up. The amount of excess and premium increase is more than how much it will cost to fix the damaged caused by your employee. Don't confuse willingness to help with actually helping. Cause so far, you have nothing to show for it. The best you could've done was at least tell me that you haven't yet dealt with the matter, not lie to me and say that you're dealing with it, but all this time nothing has actually happened. Then I wouldn't have been this upset with the case. Honesty is what I expected. So either you or your broker or your insurer is lying to me, and this is not good customer service.

Went for my spa appointment yesterday (23/07/22) with my partner to as part of his birthday pampering. We were well welcomed by the receptionist as our booking was confirmed. We got assigned to Lerato Kowane to take us through the process of changing clothes and going upstairs to the waiting area. Her service was totally not impressive at all. She didn't introduce herself to us, she left us downstairs (change room area) to escort other clients without an explanation as to why we are being left behind. We stood there and took pictures just to keep ourselves busy as we were admiring the place with the hope that someone will come explain to us the next step from having changed to our gowns. Moments later she came and and just said: "Follow me" no smile, no friendliness but a long face of dissatisfaction. We had to abruptly to what we were doing to follow her Instructions. He got upstairs (waiting area) and completed the consent and health quiz forms, once done we waited almost before we could be attended to. Therapists were assigned to us and we were taken to our spa rooms. This was now past our appointment time of 11h00am having arrived at 10h30am. The massage was lovely and the therapists were amazing. The facilities are beautiful just got disappointed by the water as it wasn't hot for the shower and jacuzzi. The explanation we got was that pipes were being fixed. Once we were done, we went to chill and realized that there's wifi connectivity issues and walked around the spa to seek help and bumped into Lerato. We explained the issue and while explaining she kept walking away and never offered any help. We only got the name of Lerato as we were leaving the spa based on how unhelpful and unsatisfied by her service we were. Aronia Day Spa is a beautiful place, with amazing staff. People like Lerato need to get their attitude and customer service on point. For the reputation of the business.

It's the third time I've been there, The place is still very well kept, some of the staff continues to be very friendly, attentive to your needs, the massage was excellent we had a misunderstanding when booking, I requested 4 treatments and it was confirmed by whatsapp, then I realized when I arrived that it was a promotion per person, we were a group of 4, so unfortunately I wasn't well prepared but they dealt with professionalism. Tip: check the load shedding time before you go. (They won't tell you)This way you know how to plan your routine because the steam room is the only room that shuts down due to the energy intake. (South africa and load shedding can't blame them) Tip: if you're going with guests, let the staff know properly what treatments you're planning to gift the guests so the staff knows what to do you don't want surprises at the end. Tip: if you would like to share a jacuzzi with your partner (male) you can go in via the male side but you have to be with your partner not alone. (They won't tell you either) I suggest they place a card with this info on the door. I also suggest, they take more time to respond clearly on whatsapp when you request info. This avoids disappointments. Anyway, South Africa's endless day spa options are amazing. The options are endless and each one has its unique features.

We booked in a big group of ladies and spent a substantial amount of money at Aronia. 1. We specifically asked beforehand if the outdoor pool was heated because the highlight of our spa day is the pool. We were distinctly told that it is heated (proof can be provided if necessary), on the day the pool was freezing cold and we were told that loadshedding affects this. That should have been brought to our attention when we asked beforehand. 2. Our therapists were a full 30 minutes late with our massages despite us being there at least 25 minutes before our scheduled treatments. 3. The changing room is extremely cramped and there are not enough lockers for the amount of bookings the spa takes. Some ladies who arrived after us were left without lockers and we were asked to share. 4. The spa looks nice in the main area but when you actually look into it, some areas are really run down and the toilets were disgusting. The 3 stars are because the therapists were lovely and gave us good treatments. 5/5 for treatments, 1/5 for facilities, 2/5 for organisation

I visited Aronia Spa on my birthday in December 2022. The pictures are deceiving as the spa is dated. There was a lot of staff at the reception area , all fumbling around and chatting to each other, so that does not give me a good impression about entering a calm , serene spa. The change room is claustraphobic and cluttered and there is a camera in the change room!! An Indian head massage and foot massage was booked for me. both were below average. The therapists kept pushing " pressure points " on my feet which were incredibly painful. Even after I told her not to do so, she intermittently continued to do so. The Indian head massage was definitely not that. It was a scalp massage and nothing more, so I felt that ,that treatment is falsely advertised. After the treatment, I spoke to the manager regarding my disatifaction with the treatment. She promised to call me the next day. I am still waiting for her call! Not a place I would go back to or recommend.

Was told to come 30 minutes before my appointment which I did. When I got there I changed into a robe and slippers and asked to wait. I then filled out an indemnity form. All this took 15 minutes. After another 15 minutes ( total time expired 30 minutes), I was told a therapist would be with me soon. Note that I pre booked and pre paid an hour Swedish massage 5 days before this appointment. A further 25 minutes passed by before someone came by and told me that someone would attend to me, only 15 minutes later did someone fetch me for my treatment. My biggest issue here is time, mine is precious and had the whole afternoon planned, I arrived early as asked and yet was made to wait and wait. The excuse given is that the person before me was running late. I was very disappointed and will not be returning, if time is important to you rather go elsewhere. Shocking!!!!!!!!

The masseuse was fantastic but overall this was a terrible experience which left us more stressed than when we got in. I and many ladies around were shocked by the bad attitude, lies, and defensiveness of the staff in this place given the raving reviews. When I got in there was load shedding and facilities weren’t working well. When I raised the issue, they lied that they had informed me about this on phone. This is just one of many examples. The manager (who also later claimed to be a co-owner) had the worst attitude and defended the team instead of listening to issues raised and remediating. When we asked for the price to be discounted as we couldn’t enjoy the facilities, she began screaming, aggressively passed on the card machine, rolled her eyes and threatened to call security. Truly surprised by this experience.

Would've given 2 stars but after I complained the manager promised to call later that week to understand the complaint and I have never heard from her. So 1 star. Unprofessional experience. The massages were completely mediocre for the price. The 'lymphatic facial massage' was 30 minutes of having my temples rubbed. The therapist didn't even take my make up off first (after I explicitly asked her too), so I just had makeup and oil rubbed into my skin. The therapist cut my toe during the pedicure (with unsanitized tools ) causing me to bleed. We chose a package with a 'Passion fruit mocktail' only to be given a literal shot of berry Liqui Fruit . It's clean, and the environment is good, but the experience was so average for what should have been a relaxing splurge. Would NOT recommend

Honest review of the place. It is nice and could be a whole lot better if the staff/owners put in the work. The staff are nice to you but the facilities need maintaining and upkeep. The outdoor swimming pool is disgusting and the jacuzzi needs a good scrub. It took 30 mins for the dirty green water the women before were sitting in to be drained and re-filled but it wasn’t at all clean. I have been there twice now and their massages ate generally good, the first time was much better. Today I had an hour massage and I asked for medium pressure and it was a lot firmer, even painful at times but I thought I probably needed it today. The foot massage was a waste of time as her nails kept scratching me. The food is also good.

Just wow from start to finish my experience was out of this world, the ambience the decor, the service, the treatments, a real slice of heaven on earth and an utter sanctuary of tranquility!!! I cannot wait to return already and tell all of my friends just how incredible this place is!!!! Well done to the owner for achieving such a beautiful concept and achieving this slice of heaven!! also to mention, Chiswa who did the most unreal Swedish massage for me she was a pleasure to meet and truly special she has a very fine skill!! Also to Asanda who did my pedicure she was just as beautiful and meticulous with her skills!! I cannot wait to see you both again! X

I visited recently in April and was very disappointed by my experience. Unfortunately, all of their facilities are not operational during load shedding. The sauna and jacuzzi are very small (1-2 people) and had visible stains and grime. The shower facilities were also broken (broken rain shower) and the outdoor pool is not heated as advertised (not usable during winter).During my entire visit, I was never offered any water or other refreshments and the staff seemed to be very disorganized. I found the massage I got to be very average if not below average. For the price, I would recommend going to another day spa in the area.

Hands down, thus far, one of the best customer services I have had. They left me with a lasting impression of their services and their well maintained facilities. I absolutely loved the place and the service. The air quality is fresh with a welcoming smell. You are greeted and spoken to with a smile. All interactions are professional, yet exciting. The place is clean. One can have a warm beverage and some cookies as they wait for the massage or even after. After your massage, you are free to use their swimming pool, chill area and jacuzzi. A gown, disposable sliders and towels are provided for you.

My partner and I visited the spa yesterday for 2 half day packages. Where do I begin. I’m highly impressed with the staff. Very professional and friendly. The food was mouthwatering and the place gets 10/10 for aesthetics. The lady who assisted me with my booking was lovely and professional. My overall experience is 11/10. Also the packages are affordable given the location they are in. My newly found home!! Came back on heritage day, the ladies looked lovely and the place is one of the cleanest spas I’ve been to. I visited the spa last weekend and man the experience! Food was great,massage was great now let’s talk about the hospitality from the staff there! I needed a scissor for something and had almost the entire front desk coming in to assist thinking I had a girl-emergency. Everyone there was so kind and always ready to lend a helping hand even the ladies who help keep the place neat!❤️I found a bunch of sisters there,definitely a go to place when you just want to unwind and get your mind off things. Higly recommend! One last shout out to the staff ️❤️

What an amazing experience! I booked 2 30 min Swedish massages plus 2 standard pedis. The Swedish massages were so amazing and the berry shots we recieved afterwards were so refreshing. I enjoyed the pedicures alot, and the beauty technicians do such a fantastic job. I loved lounging around the pool and drinking their delicious passion fruit lemonades. The spa was busy, but it never felt crowded because of the seperate areas for every treatment. The only negative was how long we waited for our food at the cafe. Everything else was perfect.

If I could give no stars I would. I must be honest and fair the facility is amazing and the ladies at the desk were really friendly. However, I encountered a problem with my payment while booking and the managers were happy to send me off with out coming up with solutions or allowing me to pay at the counter (which I was happy to, but they wouldn’t know cause all they said was sorry we will look for your payment and refund you) Please don’t treat all customers as fraudsters and discriminate. Nowhere was an option to pay presented.

The entire spa is beautiful and tranquil. I loved my pedicure, their special chairs are so comfy I feel asleep during the treatment. A first for me in the floatation room, loved it, was so calming. Massage room is the best I've been in with the lighting and comfort. Massage itself was OK, unfortunately my therapist didn't hit the spots I needed and asked for many times so that was a bit disappointing for me. I will remember to ask for Veronica, who treated my husband, the next time.

Took my mom to Aronia today for a massage and they have contractors working at the spa. Halfway through the massage the contractors started getting a little rowdy and after ten minutes one of the therapists left to sort them out (they quietened down) and then let us know they would apologise by extending our massage by 15 minutes for either a head or foot massage which was great. Things will always go wrong. It’s how a business deals with them that matters. Great massage guys

The staff were friendly and helpful from the time I entered. I came with a group of people and even though we all had different treatments, which were all so amazing, the staff made sure we reunited at ease after our treatment. The ambiance is so relaxing, it makes you forget the outside world. The treatments were done professionally and patiently. My group and I could not stop raving about how rejuvinated we felt at the end of the day.

I do not mind the distance just for the experience. Hospitality is amazing, from the greeting by security at the gate, to the warm greeting at reception, one of the ladies who clean went out of her way to assist me with the WIFI password, then the phenomenal host in bronze braids (wish I caught her name) made me feel right at home, my masseuse and paddy ladies Sarah and Tina were exceptional. Thank you.

This spa ranks as one of the best in Johannesburg. The setting is amongst busy roads but once you are through the gates of Aronia Day Spa, it's like you have entered into a different world, calming and tranquil. Staff are super friendly, helpful and accommodating. This spa is in the upper class range. Facilities are amazing, especially the floating pool. Looking forward to more relaxing experiences.

It was my first time visiting the Spa yesterday (01/04/2023) with my mother. I had taken her for a surprise treat for her upcoming birthday, from the entrance to the reception and the stuff everything is beautiful, the spa smells and look good. They are definitely people oriented and everyone is just treated with love and respect. The food is also Devine. Will definitely be a regular.

Beautiful service. They made my booking so easy and hassle free. The staff was super polite and yet still professional. Went in for a mani and pedi and Angel did a wonderful job with my nails! I visited the spa for a massage. There was a camera in the ladies changing area. They had enclosed changing cubicles. A changing room should never have cameras ever. When I addressed this with the staff and owner they were all very rude and abrupt to me. On your next visit look carefully if the camera has been removed from the changing area or is it still there.

What a hidden gem! Great range of treatments and prices are reasonable. Spa is super clean and tidy. Only reason for 4* not 5, wasn’t advised when booking that they were doing renovation work by the pool / sun lounge area meaning we couldn’t use this part of the spa and was a little noisy. Nevertheless I had a brilliant experience and would definitely go back!

Absolutely incredible! I have recently become an amputee. Every single person treated me with so much kindness and made me feel so at home. Many people find it intimating to massage an amputee however Sarah and Miriam gave the most phenomenal massages and treated my amputated leg like it was something they deal with in a daily basis. I am extremely grateful

Standards not as high as they used to be...mani & pedi. Therapists seem less well trained...blood pouring out of several of my finger cuticles! My waffle & ice cream( birthday treat) were served in the therapy room while my hands were soaking! They do have a coffee shop so i CANNOT understand the silliness of it all. Shrugged off with a half hearted apology

After reading quite a handful of negative reviews I decided to cancel my booking with the Spa only to get a call from Asanda pleading with me to attend & experience the Spa by myself. Persuaded as I had been, I drove there and ohhhhh wow, what a massage experience that was. Lungie was just a one of a kind Therapist. The Spa & me are now soulmates.

The therapist were friendly and I was happy with their session, I had a problem with the front desk ladies though who were insolent and very disrespectful. I tried talking to Omphemetse about her changing attitude towards the clients and she was just unapologetic about her behavior. I don’t think I’ll ever visit the spa again where I’m mistreated.

I have been to Aronia Day Spa twice in 2021. The first time we booked for a valentines day package and the second time we booked a few single treatments. Both times we enjoyed our treatments and the food is amazing & halaal :). The staff is sweet and very or very professional. This is definitely my go to place. I can't wait to visit again.

What an amazing, clean space. The ambience is just so relaxing from the time you walk in. Perfectly located for me and also just the out of this world service from the receptionists, to the cleaners to the therapists etc. I'm extremely happy with the services, all worth the money we spent. Had the best time at Aronia. I've been to some of the best spas in joburg but this one has to be top of my list. Talent was an amazing therapist, Asana was fabulous. The ladies who helped me at reception were wonderful. Besides my therapies being amazing. The ambience, and the friendlyness of ladies will definitely have me return.

Beautiful spa. Went with my fiancé for the couples ceremony package. Every treatment exceeded our expectations. Left feeling absolutely relaxed, lunch was great and the staff were very friendly. Premesis: 10/10 - incredibly serene and quiet for the middle of Houghton. Massage: 10/10 - I'm always nervous when I ask for firm pressure, but Sharon made it hurt so good!! As part of my birthday spoils My daughter booked us for the aronia signature mani. Walked in to a beautiful and calming ambience. Our therapists, Mamiki and Nthabiseng, were absolutely amazing... The treatment was superb, especially the hot stone massage. It's been a week since my mani, and my nails still look fabulous.

The floors in the treatment room were very dirty. There is a camera in the ladies change room. The facial lasted less then 60 mins. I got sick after eating at the cafe. Admin is also very poor and they can not locate payments that you have made. Only positive is the staff who work there, very friendly and welcoming.

Devine in all aspects, from the premises, staff to the treatments and everything wrapped in-between. I would of liked to be able to take my slippers and comb I had used with me, however I was told not to. Unsure as to why but that doesn't downplay the Spa at all.... The Razul chamber is a must 10/10

The spa is not bad at all, facilities are clean and aesthetic, there’s a cute restaurant/ coffee shop there as well. I just wish there was a short tour before the massage so we see where all facilities are, and also not so much movement, washing of équipement back and fourths etc during the massage.

Very welcoming and helpful. Always checking up on you to make sure your treatments are well and you aren’t lost. Enjoyed the food and facilities as well. Just note that loadshedding hampers the use of the steam room and jacuzzi (you can still sit in the hot water but no jets will be on).

Went for a 90 minute massage. What a joke! The massage started 15 minutes late and ended after 60 minutes and no one had the decency to acknowledge it and was charged the full amount! Sad. Really enjoyed my previous experiences here, so disappointed at what took place today.

Place is lovely. Therapist was nice but her nails were long n dirty was not a good sight. Done a mani n pedi with a buff the buff only lasted 1 week. Steam room was off n there wasn't anyone to help on it. The atmosphere is nice pool looks lovely. It was under renovation.

The mani pedi station has room for improvement, but the massage rooms are nice. The therapists are friendly and professional, but again, there is room for improvement in the pedis. The scalp massage was the best I've ever had though and the spa is beautiful

Good quality spa. Very enjoyable and well worth the prices. The treatments are of an exceptional standard. The only issue I had was with the music, it kept skipping which was distracting at some points
