"Austin Memorial Park is beautiful, peaceful and well managed"
I came here looking for a specific grave. In places, the cemetery looks well maintained and manicured( new paving and curbs), yet in other places there are sunken, slanting, or worse headstones. Near the grave I was looking for, there was a little (purple I think) flag with a message and a warning about (removing after so many days) prohibited items being on or near the grave/marker. I saw quite a few of these warnings and thought they were sort of tacky. Overall, the place could probably look better and be run better, but that’s just my opinion after 30 minutes walking around.
Beautiful setting. We chose this cemetery to bury our daughter because it was full of trees and wind chimes, hanging baskets, benches and monuments. Now, 14 years later they come and gather up our benches and other trinkets of remembrance and throw them out behind the office. They have decided to change the rules on what could be out in the cemetery. I wish they had told us that 15 years ago. Shame on them and the city for letting them do it.
My daughter’s crepe Myrtle that I had planted back in 2007 had been severely pruned without my knowledge nor permission a year ago. Two managers of the cemetery said the grounds keepers did not do it. Recently the entire 10ft beautiful tree had been totally cut down. Again , they are casting the blame on someone vandalizing trees. I’m sad that my daughters tree is gone plus Austin memorial refusing to take any responsibility.
Do you know why they have a fence around this cemetery? Because people are dying to get in! But jokes aside, I really love this place. I have been to at least five burials here, and I am always amazed at how nice it is. The trees are pretty, the grounds are kept nice and green. I really love it. I just hope it is a long while before I call it my permanent home!
Austin Memorial Park is beautiful, peaceful and well managed. There are always visitors visiting grave sites of family or friend, and interesting additions to many grave sites such as chairs, benches, bird baths, windmills and balloons. It is a pleasure to visit the Park and spend time beside my friends grave.
There are a lot of head stones leaning. Some half sunk and even some have fell over. Ask about fixing a head stone that was leaning and was told that was the family's responsible They could repair it for .70 cents per square inch. Which is over 700 dollars for them to put more dirt in front
This is always a well manicured cemetary. They are currently repaving the streets and adding curbs. And the variety of family headstones is always interesting. I am old and visit a lot of family and friends in different cemeteries, and this one is the best.
Why did my grandparents headstones from the '70's end up face down? AMP wants $200 each to reset and won't simply flip it over. Since we no longer have family in Austin I guess it will be like this for eternity.
Şehir icinde doğa harikası. Mevsiminde yüzme ve kano yapma olanaği.Nehrin içinde doğal yüzme havuzu ,yaz kış su sıcaklıği 20c .Dogal olarak kayniyor ve nehre karışıyor.
Resting place of 2 Texas rangers (F. Hammer and B. Gault) that ended lives of Bony and Clyde.
