This week I took my little baby (14) in for an ear infection. I met for the first time Dr Jamie Geddes. Jamie was the kindest Vet and listened to my concerns. I had been concerned about a growth on my girl and Jamie checked her out. Without worrying me, he asked if he can keep her for the day and take a better look at it. His words were “let’s make this our priority and tackle it!” Later that day, Jamie let me know he would be able to remove the growth “no worries” Today, I took my girl in and being the over protective fur baby mum I am, I was anxious. Jamie asked how I was, I told him I was anxious and he said “I’m excited!” My girl has had many surgeries over her 14 years, this is the first time ever I have left any clinic with full confidence and very little anxiety. Jamie called me at 11am and said “Harby was first off the ranks because I knew you would be nervous, everything is fine ! Great fun!” I cannot think of enough great words to thank Jamie, not only for the exceptional care he provided to Harby, but for the empathy and kindness he had for me. Watching my girl grow older has been difficult for me, and I have finally be able to breathe a sigh of relief knowing she was well taken care of, thoroughly looked over, and is now healthy. Please consider using Jamie as your next Vet in Avalon. Highly highly recommended from an anxious pup mum. Thank you Jamie!

I took my very loved, very precious whippet to Avalon Veterinary Hospital this evening. The hospital squeezed me in this afternoon despite my late notice, to see Dr Jamie Geddes. Meeting with Dr Jamie to discuss Kips needs was the most comforting and supportive experience I could have asked for. His patient and patients-owner care was incredible, Dr Jamie is one of the most calming vets I’ve seen. I arrived anxious as most people are when their pet is unwell and Jamie’s nurturing and kind presence was a life send. He took all precautions with my Kip and explained everything to me very clearly taking his time to do so and his approach to her treatment was explained to me very thoroughly. His suggested treatment for Kip was very appropriate, advising the clearest route to begin with instead of a ‘throw everything at the wall and see what sticks’ approach. His recommendation was thoughtful and his nature was a blessing. Avalon are lucky to have him. Thank you Jamie and the whole team at Avalon Veterinary Hospital.

I was rather disappointed when I learnt Sam and Charlotte Burke had sold their practice, as they were wonderfully caring Vets who were both skilled and thorough. But, I must say sincerely, I am so pleased with the service of the new owners, and particularly the Senior Vet; Dr Jamie Geddes. He has taken ownership of administering my dog (Toby)'s health requirements and I acknowledge I consider Jamie to be (even) better than the previous owner/s. He has remained in constant contact regarding my dog's recent health issues, and his thoroughness and caring determination to control Toby's delicate heart problems have truly impressed me. He's the kind of Doctor you would want were you to need a human physician.

Jamie Geddes has not long taken over this practice from Sam and Charlotte. I cannot speak more highly of the care and attention he has given my old English sheepdog Charlie. He was diagnosed with a large tumour in his ear which required specialist surgery to remove requiring a newly constructed ear canal. Charlie's operation has been very successful due to Jamie's persistence to reach a diagnosis and to deal with it successfully. Charlie is now totally comfortable and free from recurring ear infections. I should also add that the staff is very friendly and delightful to deal with, Charlie enjoys his visit to the vet knowing that there is very likely to be a treat in store.

We've been using Avalon Veterinary Hospital for our 9 year old Border Collie all her life. Their care and concern for dream has always been exemplary but we can now really appreciate the quality of the service they offer after Dream had an operation to repair a torn cruciate ligament. The whole process was so well planned, managed and executed by Jamie and his team. It's a challenging 10 week process but their care and attention to detail along the support they gave to us, particularly in those first weeks, made it a pretty easy ride. I wholeheartedly recommend them!

I cannot sign the praises loud enough about Sam and Charlotte's team down at Avalon Vet. We took our Pugalier dog Jack in for a visit as he had acute intestinal pain, and was vomiting. Sam took great care and interest in Jacks' condition and spent more time than he needed to, to get to the bottom of the problem. We have used a few Vets on the Northern Beaches over the years, but the team at Avalon Vets are in my opinion, by far the friendliest, most comprehensive and considerate professionals i have come across. Highly recommended.

Jamie and his team of caring professionals were amazing with my 7 month old Groodle Teddy. Fully explained the procedure and how Teddy would recover. Jamie gave me a message prior to Teddy going in for his procedure and a call after he came out When I collected him he was in great spirits and was given detailed after operation instructions and a follow appointment was booked. Such a family friendly vet where when you walk your and your pet are greeted by your names. Always taking care of your pet and their families

I can't thank Jamie, Ben and their team enough. Our 7 y.o. dog was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma. It would simply be impossible for someone to be more empathetic or communicate any better in that scenario. We felt that Harry was getting the very best care throughout. Thankfully, the lymph node biopsy showed this to be a rare form of indolent lymphoma that we were hoping for. He went above and beyond to get this diagnosis, which we read is often missed. I have so much confidence in Jamie and his team

We drove out to Avalon specifically to see Jamie for our groodle. He took a holistic approach to our dog’s care and looked at his entire medical history before deciding course of action. After months of messing around with other vets, treating symptoms rather than underlying issues, we finally have a plan for our pooch and know how to care for him! Couldn’t recommend this vet practice enough. The entire team were very helpful and caring for our dog.

About 5 years ago, when Monty, our darling Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was about 5, on our daily visit to the Careel Bay dog park, a lovely lady whose son was a vet in the country, highly recommended Jamie at the Avalon Vet Hospital. The next time Monty needed to visit the vet, we took him to see Jamie and five years later Jamie and the staff at the Avalon Vet Hospital are the only ones we trust with our darling Monty.

I took my Cavoodle here today as we have recently moved to the area. I was a bit nervous as haven’t liked a few of the vets I have been to in the past. He vet was clean and reception staff were very friendly! The vet was really nice and helpful with my pups ear issues and had a great manner with him. It was very reasonable priced as well. I will definitely be back next time! Highly recommend!!! 5 stars!!! X

We had an emergency visit as our small dog was bitten by a snake or spider. The Avalon Vet team sprang into action and worked on her for an hour to bring her back to life. They then arranged for intensive care overnight at a nearby veterinary hospital and she was home with us the next day. It really was touch and go and it ended well due to their quick, calm diagnosis and the right treatment calls.

Jamie, Louise & their Team took such loving & great care of my beloved new cat when she needed surgery recently for removal of a rotten tooth; she would have been so terribly frightened that I might have been giving her up, after having had 3 homes & several months given up to the RSPCA all in this one year. After care checks were also done with care & empathy: THANK YOU SO VERY, VERY MUCH!!!

Recently moved to the area and would highly recommend. The staff are very friendly, helpful and caring towards the animals. I would also highly recommend the grooming service offered, Rea you did an amazing job, I would have to say it was the best my dog ever looked so thank you. Jamie you were right about the grooming and thank you for rebooking the next grooming appointment.

Love this vet, they always make you feel welcome and show such love and respect to all animals, I will continue to visit this vet with all my pets even when I move out of the area, as to find a place as great as this, you’d be sill to give it up. Jamie at Avalon vets has been absolutely amazing, my dog is 11years old and I am so lucky we found the best vet ever to look after Toby in his later years. Jamie has helped Toby and myself so much through this year, we are so grateful for everything he has done for us. If u need a vet that loves and cares for your fury baby Jamie is your man.

Absolutely lovely, caring, considerate staff. Always take care of Rufus to the best of their ability and have genuine compassion and concern. Rufus has had 3 surgeries and it is never easy leaving him, but we know we couldn't be leaving him in better hands. Cannot thank them enough for everything they do (and thanks especially to Louise).

newly arrived to the area - had a scare with one of my dogs - was frankly a bit panicked and it was 6 pm - they kindly told me to bring him in - checked him out - he was fine - they were WONDERFUL - kind, caring reassuring, and definitely knew their stuff - we are now definitely new customers!
