I stumbled across Avant Garde Jewelers quite serendipitously when I was trying to figure out my husband's ring size so I could have a new wedding band made for him. I literally just googled the closest jewelry store near me and rolled up without reading a single review. They were very knowledgeable and kind. I immediately knew I was in good hands with Brian and decided right then to have both our bands made there. I was able to get the wedding bands for both my husband and I and they were even able to put engraving in them in our own handwriting, which was something I really wanted to make them extra special, we both LOVE our new bands. Fast forward my husband went to Avant Garde to design a custom upgrade engagement ring for me after a disaster with working remotely with a Jewelry store in Denver, that resulted in us needing to send the ring back and starting over (lesson learned, work with someone in your area who you trust!!). Brian and Emily worked with my husband extensively to design the PERFECT ring. They even measured my wedding band to ensure they would fit perfectly together and they were able to incorporate 5 diamonds from the first piece of jewelry that my husband ever gave me to make this new ring even more sentimental. It was very important to me to have a lab diamond and they sourced lots of different stones for us with different ratios in order to help narrow down exactly what I liked. He went back and forth with them A LOT until the design was just right and throughout the whole process they were very gracious and knowledgeable and their quality control is impeccable! I knew I would be getting a ring that was not only beautiful but well made and I wouldn't have to worry about losing stones or breaking. We're definitely customers for life. Everyone at Avant Garde made us feel like family (I worked a lot with Sami and she is wonderful) and I can't say enough good things about them. About five years ago, my guy and I had commitment rings made by a hippy who did these beautiful designs with silver wire. Unfortunately, silver wire isn't built to last and we both had to retire our rings a couple of years ago because our skin was freaking out and my ring was falling apart. It was a bummer because I really loved the unique style and the diamond and opals we took out of my late Grandma Mary Lou's rings. A few months ago, I met Brian, the amazing artist and custom jewelry designer at Avant Garde Jewelers. Brian owns the store and he and his staff are just wonderful. I showed him the silver wire ring and told him how I wished I had it in white gold. He spent a lot of time thinking over how he would convert it. In the end, he not only made it almost an EXACT replica, but he added stones from my other late Grandma, Grandma Frances, who is the reason I love jewelry. Tonight, we picked up the ring and it felt so amazing to put this symbol of creativity, brilliance, family, commitment, and strength weaved around my finger BACK on my finger. I had a great experience getting a custom made engagement ring and wedding band with Avant Garde. They were very thorough throughout the whole process and they always made me feel at peace knowing that the outcome would be wonderful. I had had a very bad experience with another jeweler before and it was so great to be able to go to avant garde and end up with exactly what I had envisioned. Emily pretty much handled the whole process and she was really great. She really understood what I wanted and was able to transfer that to the drawings and model before getting the real rings made. Brian was very involved too and it was very reassuring for me. After a little communication hiccup he made sure everything would be perfect at the end and he personally reached out to me to clear up the confusion. Overall I would 100% recommend them for anyone interested in getting some custom made jewelry and I will totally go to them next time I need something myself.

Mihaela provided us incredibly thoughtful service when I bought my fiancés engagement ring. I brought a stone I'd sourced myself and Brian and Mihaela were able to set it in a plain temporary setting for me to propose with, then I was able to bring my fiancé back to design her perfect ring afterwards. Got the benefits of surprise proposal and the perfect ring she wanted! We were able to move the same stone to the newly designed ring with materials cost credited to the cost of the new ring. Mihaela was excellent and very patient while my fiancé worked with her to design the perfect ring. She tells me every day how happy the ring made her and it was well worth every penny- very reasonably priced for such high-touch service and completely custom work too. At this point Avante Garde would need to actively try and lose my business going forward of they wanted to get rid of me!

I had a genuinely good experience with Brian and his team. The consultation was very informative and was not rushed through. Every detail about our options to make an engagement ring was given and explained. Everyone we interacted with was polite and quick to get us taken care of. Brian specifically was very passionate about his work and had lots of knowledge of the industry, specifically in Austin which was interesting to hear about. Safety precautions for social distancing were done, which I appreciated. All around did a great job putting our heirloom diamond into an engagement ring setting. Turn around after consultation was about a week. He did forget our appraisal, but we brought the ring back in and they had that taken care of by the next day. We had such a great experience with Avant Garde Jewelers with a recent request for creating a specialty necklace to combine my wedding band and my husbands wedding ring. We were so lucky to get to work with Brian Hoover. We really didn’t know for sure how we wanted to create this new combined necklace out of the two rings, so we really need someone like Brian who is experienced and he started throwing out various ideas on how this could be best accomplished. Brian gave us ideas and then worked on the rings on a design we felt would be best. Avant Garde is an amazing place! The selection is large and wonderful. They have so many beautiful pieces to choose from and even if they do not have exactly what you want in the store, they probably have the ability to have it made for you. I selected my wedding ring and band from them and both came out perfectly and beautiful. I was blown away by the quality especially because the price was so reasonable! Their prices are amazing, way lower than the competition! The only thing better than the quality, selection, and price is the staff! The staff is so helpful and kind. I would highly recommend Avant Garde Jewelers! I purchased my engagement ring through them, and they were absolutely fantastic through the whole process. From trying on almost all the rings in the store, to working with me on multiple iterations of our custom design, and making sure the final ring was as perfect as possible, they really helped make sure I was happy. Granted I’m a novice in jewelry, but I didn’t feel they were just trying to make a quick buck off me. We bought our wedding bands from Avant Garde. We had some communication issues with getting quotes for our bands but nothing serious. Normally, we would simply move on to the next jeweler but we really liked Brian. He is extremely knowledgeable, very passionate about his work and we got the strong impression that he legitimately wanted us to have a really great product. Once we received our bands we weren't disappointed. They fit very well and the quality is fantastic. Brian even encouraged us to bring in my wife's wedding ring for a cleaning whenever we wanted, free of charge, even though we didn't buy it there. We did that several times with no issues. My husband and I were looking for a place that could help us with our rings. I found this family owned business and we felt so lucky! Brian the owner was attentive and super sweet from the begining working with me to fix my heirloom engagement ring that seemed like a tough job to do since it was vintage. I chose Avant Garde Jewelers to make custom wedding rings, and my wife and I are very pleased with the results. They worked with me to design a set of rings that fit together and look very distinctive. They were able to incorporate the diamond from my mother's engagement ring into the design, as well as six smaller diamonds from another of her rings. They also gave me a fair price for the value of the metal in the rings. They were flexible with the timing of payments for the rings, and re-plated the engagement ring to restore its original color (for free!) for the day of our wedding and the professional photos. I highly recommend their services if you want great work from jewelers.

When my wedding band lost a diamond we were very concerned about getting it repaired with a jeweler we could trust. I’m so glad we stopped in here. The band originally belonged to my husband’s grandmother and holds significant sentimental value. The man took us into an office and pulled up on a large screen an image of the ring and walked us through what exactly would need to be done in order to fix it right. The repair took about a week as promised and ended up being on the lower end of the price range quoted. The fix is beautiful and effective. We will definitely trust Avant Garde with any future repairs.

I had an insurance claim as a result of a theft of my jewelry. As part of the claim, I needed proof of ownership. I called Avant Garde and Mihaela answered. Mihaela went out of her way to get the information I needed to present to the insurance company. She was professional and kind throughout the process. No matter what she is getting paid, she deserves more as a result of her take ownership attitude and professionalism. The entire process from creating the ring until receipt was flawless. Drew helped me with creating a custom ring for my wife and I’s anniversary. He showed me a few options in person that were premade which were beautiful but not what I was looking for. He then took me to a custom section and helped me build one from scratch so I could get exactly what I wanted! The process was very easy and not stressful at all. I was in a rush to get the ring made within three weeks. Drew gave me a date it would be finished, and that was the day I was able to pick up so they are true to their word! Matt was awesome from start to finish. He made sure to get to know me and my story throughout and it wasn't just all about the ring. My experience with Avante Garde Jewelers was extraordinary. I had a stone custom set and they treated me as if I had brought in the Hope diamond! Brian & Matt were wonderful to work with, always promptly returning my calls & emails. The desired setting was a bit technologically challenging, so we had to tweak one thing or another a number of times, until we got it just right. They were patient and meticulous with each change and still finished in time for a special occasion. I would gladly use them again & just love my necklace.

We used Avant Garde to design custom rings for my wife and myself. They were determined to ensure we got exactly what we wanted. We had trouble finding the exact color stone for our accents so they placed a temporary stone So that we would have the ring for the wedding day. We had my engagement ring custom designed based off another design I loved from a far away company. I showed Brian what I wanted, he delivered a CAD within the week and I got the ring of my dreams a few weeks later. We had it engraved in the inner band too for an extra touch of personalization. The entire process of selecting my new rings was seamless. Emily assisted me with choosing a new custom design for my existing stone. She asked all the right questions and guided me when I veered off track and wanted one of everything! They also completed a repair on an heirloom piece and returned it to its full glory. After visiting a few big name jewelers for an engagement ring, Avant Garde was by far the best experience. Brain was amazing with his knowledge of diamonds and helped me find the diamond that made my fiancée's dreams come true. They were extremely easy to work with and patient as well.
