If I could give this 0 stars I wouldn’t hesitate. The worst cake I have had in my entire life so far and boy have I tried so many. The cake I was told was strawberry shortcake because he said that was their bestseller but the cake I received was poorly decorated and tasted (& looked) at least 4 days old. It tasted so bad, completely dry and tasteless and looked stale. Everyone at the party left their cakes on their plates untouched. We threw so much of the cake we cut and when I went to keep it back in the fridge it fell apart completely (you can clearly see that in the pictures) but even before that when the birthday girl cut it, it was falling apart slowly.. so we put a bowl next to it for support. The strawberries in between were so old tasting and not fresh at all. Nothing about the cake was fresh. To me it looked like he was basically judging us for ordering the smallest cake and was not bothered by it and gave more importance to the wedding cake orders than the birthday cakes. The guy was so unprofessional with us. He was judging us based on our ethnicities instead of providing everyone with the same service. My cousin and I felt so uncomfortable with him basically stereotyping us and looking us up and down because we ordered a small cake. We did not feel welcome and he kept ignoring us. Me and my cousin called the bakery to place our order but since he couldn’t understand over the phone he asked us to come in person. When we went to the bakery he did not even properly acknowledge us. We stood in front of the door so long and were not even asked to take a seat while others who were entering the bakery after us were greeted warmly and were asked to take a seat to which he said they had an appointment. So when I asked him why he didn’t mention appointment to us over the phone or in person instead of making us wait for so long he replied saying the appointment is 50 dollars per hour which costs more than the cake I had ordered. I was taken aback at that statement so he quickly rephrased it by saying you saw we were fully booked for that day. So why would you ask us to come to the bakery to talk if your appointments were full? We clearly were treated differently than other customers (poorly). Please treat all your customers fairly and do not discriminate. The Nike sign was basically a U instead of a swoosh and I said i wanted it black but he gave us a dark green and when I said it wasn’t black he disagreed and said it was black. I am very disappointed with the customer service, bakery, and their cake. Will never recommend anyone to order from them. They are not consistent and treat everyone different based on how much they are paying for the cake. Absolutely ridiculous and he didn’t even apologize.

We ordered a cake for our daughters 4th birthday. my daughter specifically wanted a spider- man cake, when we spoke to the guy that makes the cake, he specifically said that the cake was going to have a Spiderman on a tower and throwing a web. When we picked up the cake the cake was not what we expected it was way different then the description he gave us, when my husband confronted him about the cake he said that the cake was baked for 4 days ago and it was hard for him to make the cake. Keep in mind when you order a cake you want it fresh, in this case it was not fresh. On my husbands way home the icing towners fell down and ruined the top of the cake. All he got was a spider man face of the cake that just lite up. When we were eating the cake the strawberries were frozen and hard to eat. this is our first time ordering from him and we were very disappointed. To this day we still have almost a full cake, none of our guests like it. The cake was dry and very stale and the strawberries tasted old. It would of been proper of him to say he doesn't do kid cakes at the time we were putting in our order which was two weeks in advance, he said he only does wedding cakes. We are still calling to him to see if we can get a refund of our money , the phone just sayings "our call cant be completed" We had to dig through the cake to get the parts that were not frozen.

A week before my wedding out found out that the baker I had chosen to do my wedding cake was unable to get the job done. Now what do I do? Where do I go? I hit the search engine on google and the first establishment to come up was Bamboo Bakery. I gave them a call on Tuesday with my reception the following Sunday. Needless to say I had my doubts. I spoke with David and we met the next day. He was so focused on taking care of my predicament and assured me that Bamboo Bakery could do the job. He was professional, helpful and most of all cared about the situation I was in. He said the cake would be ready on Saturday. i went to pick up the cake on Saturday and it was beautiful. Exactly what I wanted and he had designed. The cake was a hit at the reception with guests asking for two pieces of cake. David I can't thank you enough for helping me out on such an important day. I will come to you again for every special cake that I want. No big box store sheet cakes for me I want the quality of Bamboo Bakery it is worth every penny.

I had a 2 tier custom wedding cake, champagne raspberry and chocolate. All my guests kept asking where the cake was from! David was so professional he has perfected his craft. We did a cake tasting with him, and it was special something we will always remember, the big store has many cakes inside to look at. And get an idea of just how marvelous David’s work is! There is something for everybody. I highly recommend paying the extra and doing the taste test. From placing the order at our cake tasting to the delivery of the cake. Bamboo Bakery was simply a delightful experience for our wedding cake. In a flash, David designed a cake that incorporated elements that my wife and I both like to create a truly wonderful cake. It was a super easy and relaxing process thanks to David's professional and collaborative style. Our wedding guests absolutely loved the flavor of the cake as well. Bamboo Bakery has always been amazing. My wife and I selected them for our wedding cake in 2017 and love everything they did for us. We appreciate them so much we return to them every year for an anniversary cake. The customer service and event day setup was first rate, the decorations are always top notch, the flavors always come in a wide varied and are absolutely delicious. The cakes are always light, fluffy, and exquisite. Like my best man at my wedding said during the tasting, he scarfed down every piece in seconds and when asked which flavors he liked he said, "Any of them". We would highly recommend Bamboo Bakery to everyone.

I'm kinda torn. This is a tough one... Their show room has some incredible looking cakes on display. The tasting was fun, and the person who hosted it was likable. However, the cake arrived late, 15 minutes before the ceremony. We were a little perplexed when guests kept asking if it was an ice cream cake, and we didn't quite understand, until we each had a slice. The filing we ordered was raspberry with young coconut. Fun fact: frozen coconut filling is fairly tasteless. For $500, we expected a perfect cake, because it's... CAKE!!! We also expected a thawed cake. While the presentation was beautiful, the taste was disappointing.

Bamboo Bakery is the best wedding cake vendor in Phoenix. They can't be beat when it comes to both price and flavor. With so many unique cake flavors and fillings to choose from, we were able to design a wedding cake that was truly special and delicious too! We had two different cake combinations: 1). mango cake with a filling of coconut cream and fresh mangos; 2). Chocolate and banana marbled cake with a filling of almond cream, fresh bananas, and fresh strawberries. Our guests said it was the best cake they'd ever had. We loved it some much that we're ordering a new cake for our first anniversary and every anniversary to come.

Ten years ago Bamboo Bakery did an amazing job on our wedding cake (vanilla cake with vanilla strawberry cream filling) and we have been hooked ever since.  Every time we have gone to them, from wedding cake to birthday cakes, the customer service has been wonderful and the cakes have been delicious!  Today, I called and placed an order with David for a special cake to celebrate my 10 year wedding anniversary.  As always, he was great to work with, incredibly helpful and got my order placed in record time.  I highly recommend them!  Thank you Bamboo Bakery!

Bamboo Bakery did a fantastic job on our wedding cake! We had a three layer geode cake that was very detailed and intricate and it turned out amazing. Our guests absolutely loved it and everyone took pictures of it. Our cake was fondant with a champagne inside. It was delicious and I got many compliments. David was very communicative with us each time we had questions throughout the planning process. This place knows exactly how to make cakes, especially intricate cakes. I highly recommend Bamboo Bakery and I’m excited to use them again in the future.

I had called in July about a birthday cake per their website; nothing custom. I had spoke with some man with a broken foreign accent who told me to call back with my order after I decided what the filling was, etc. I called back as instructed that’s when I was told by the same man that he would take my name and number and call me back because at that every moment he was hit with a sudden rush of calls. August and no call back after repeated call back to this “bakery”. I would say it’s local is ideal; in the back out of the way. Insignificant.

We had a wonderful experience tasting different flavors of wedding cake before chosing the gluten free vanilla. We knew we were going to get at least one layer gluten free but, decided to get the whole cake since it was delicious! It was very moist & had a lovely dense texture with no trace of sawdust (gluten free products tend to be dry & the consistency of saw dust). Further, they were very helpful when designing it as I just couldn't decide. I highly recommend Bamboo Bakery for any occasion needing a cake. You won't be sorry!

Bamboo Bakery was the perfect choice for my wedding. My wife and I attended one of the tastings where we tried nearly 10 different styles of cake with varying frostings. The bakers were very accommodating with bringing our vision to life. We went with a more "naked" cake with exposed sides that looked absolutely beautiful. The cake tasted fantastic with fresh berries. We were able to have the cake delivered without stressing about shuttling the cake to the venue ourselves. Would totally recommend.

We won a Bamboo Bakery gift certificate from a wedding expo 10 years ago. Bamboo Bakery cakes are the best. Not only did we order a wedding cake and groom’s cake for our wedding from Bamboo Bakery, but every anniversary since we call David and order mini wedding cakes. We enjoy our anniversary cake just like on our wedding day, even with the wedding cake napkins. We have purchased several cakes from Bamboo Bakery over the years, birthday, graduation, baby shower, their cakes are always amazing.

We had a wonderful experience with Bamboo Bakery. The owner and creator of all the amazing cakes is very nice, helpful, and honest. I went in with little knowledge of what I wanted for my wedding cake, and he gave some ideas and designed a beautiful outline of what the cake would look like. On the day of my wedding, I saw that it was truly the most beautiful cake I have ever seen. Not to mention very moist and extremely tasty! I've never tasted a cake so good, and I don't generally like cakes.

This cake was very beautiful and so good my guest went back for seconds and even took some home. I would recommend this place for any occasion. I was able to get 2 flavors. The top and bottom portion was Almond Strawberry and the middle portion was Chocolate. It was very soft and moist and the decorations with the rental equipment made it that very beautiful.
