Great shoe store! Staff: professional and knowledgeable. I was helped by Daniel and Chantal, both of whom answered my questions thoroughly and gave me honest advice on which shoes to purchase (based on fashion, comfort, versatility etc.). The staff evidently know their products well and assisted me in trying out different insoles. They clearly explained different components of fit, demonstrating experience in communicating with customers and guiding customers towards making an informed decision. Store: very aesthetic. See attached photos for reference. Comfortable to shop around in, with well-organised and displayed stock, and plenty of well-positioned mirrors. Cosy contemporary wood-plant-wicker theme going on. Fake plastic plants, but every rose has its thorn, I guess. Products: the shoes are clearly designed with quality and health in mind. The shoes are exceptionally comfortable and the fit kit (containing numerous insole options) is especially helpful for customising your shoes for comfort. The styles are also diverse and considered. Packaging has an environmentally conscious leaning. Company values demonstrate a focus on ethical and sustainable production (read website for more info). Other products such as dog collars (made from leather off-cuts) and shoe care are also available.

Visited today to purchase a $250 gift card. My friend likes this brand of shoe. The sales assistant laughed out loud at my purchase amount. I was worried it might not be enough so I asked if they had any recommended set amounts for gift cards. I explicitly told them it would be for a gift so I wanted a good amount for the shoes. She laughed at me again and said ‘don’t worry about me’ and put the purchase through. When I inquired about any physical cards to give as a gift, she gave me a dated Christmas gift card with a Santa hat (I am purchasing on Feb 26th, well after Christmas). I heard her colleague point out that this was a Christmas gift card and the sales assistant told her ‘be quiet’ under her breath and continued to give me the Christmas themed card. Honestly, I left the store feeling like I have encountered a condescending high school girl rather than being served by a sales assistant. School canteens have better service than this! Looking through these reviews, I see plenty of reviewers having poor experiences with the sales assistants so I don’t know why Bared Footwear is not doing anything to retrain their staff.

Review of online purchases - haven't tried instore yet. Check your shoes carefully! Quality issues - Beautiful designs, especially for shoes with good arch support. I purchased 4 pairs so far (flats and boots), but I've had to exchange every shoe I've ordered because there are physical faults with them (heel attached at an off angle, hole in the top layer, broken stitching). Quick replies online and they sent a replacement quickly, but I don't think I should have to be checking my shoes in the first place at this price point. Edit: taking two more stars off! The replacement boots had the same issue (so the staff didn't bother checking it before sending it out). Also, their latest response was to bring both pairs of boots into store instead of just giving me the option to return both for a refund. Seriously?! It's going to be an uncomfortable commute into the city for me. Very disappointed at this price point! Update: the return was not smooth at all. I did eventually have my boots refunded after a very difficult conversation.

Visited on recommendation by a friend and I like their brand values. Not a single staff member said hello or offered me any help. Was fairly busy in store but there was ample staff. Luckily, the shoes I wanted to try on were out on the floor from someone else trying them on. The shoes were great when I tried on so I decided to buy for an occasion that is in a couple of weeks. If not for the time crunch I would not have purchased in store and probably bought online. Was not asked at the counter if I found everything ok (like the other cashier did for another customer) so didn’t have the chance to tell them in store of my poor experience. First time visiting the store and buying shoes from Bared, was a disappointing experience. Maybe online is better.

I can't say enough good things about their customer service. Their chat option is amazing. They're happy to answer any questions about the products, like sizing or what is the difference between different styles, and they're very helpful with offering suggestions of various styles based on what you're looking for. Even after purchasing they'll help you if you have any issues with the fit. I have also had the pleasure of visiting their shop in Sydney once and the service there was outstanding as well. I first looked at Bared shoes based on recommendations on how great the shoes are, but it's also the customer service that has kept me as a customer.

My wife and I were in Sydney early April when our tour guide suggested Bared shoes for easy walking . Chantel the sales rep was the most incredible sales person we have ever met . She took lots of time and effort explaining how the shoes work , especially the custom insoles , the benefits , advantages etc . Would have loved to buy more shoes but we had little space in our bags . She didn’t mind spending the time helping us making sure that even the one pair we purchased was perfect . What wonderful shoes but made much better by a wonderful salesperson . Kudos to Chantel .

Best boots - stylish, leather & sooooo comfortable! Also the extras that accompany them - a fit kit with spare insoles and half soles means that you will get the best fit for your feet. I don't know about you but my approach to footwear has changed since the pandemic. I want style and I won't compromise on comfort. Money well spent. Sandals I bought will easily negotiate European cobblestoned streets while still looking great. It's my 3rd Bared purchase and I can't speak highly enough - they have excellent policies and service and dealing with them is a pleasure.

Lovely, supportive shoes with a good range available in store. Can't say that the customer service was all that friendly but I do think it depends on who is serving. I noticed one assistant who was lovely, helpful and friendly but the girl who served me didn't smile until after she'd rung up my purchase. She was serving a customer next to me in exactly the same manner. Shame, really as I'd been planning to purchase a few pairs but given how expensive the shoes are, I didn't feel up to parting with so much money when the customer service was really very average.

Bared have the best customer service of almost any brand I can think of. I’ve purchased several pairs from them and their shoes are high quality but their service is unmatched, especially when they can turn your issues around into furthered loyalty to the brand. They never want to leave you with something you don’t love and constantly go the extra mile, something you just don’t get with other brands, even at the same price point. A shout out to Jeanette in the Sydney store who has looked after me a few times and is always lovely, knowledgeable and patient.

A colleague raved about this footwear to me. I finally bought my first pair today, the Nightingale! Lily from theSydney store assisted me with my purchase. She was most patient, helpful, and accommodating as she helped me make my selection, size and colour to purchase. Not only did I walked away with my brand new Nightingale (black pair, so soft and most comfortable - wished the dark brown was of the same type leather as well), please with my purchase, but also a nice store/purchase experience. So please, that I am saving up for my next pair. :-)

As soon as I walked into the Sydney Store I was instantly welcomed and asked if I needed any help. I explained what I was looking for, and after measuring my feet to ensure that they got the right size, found many options for me to try. The customer assistant helping me, Chantel, was excellent in finding what best suited me and was very accomodating for my uncertainty in footwear. Would definitely recommend going here if you are unsure of what best suits you and if you have larger feet. I will definitely be shopping here again!

I was met with fantastic customer service today. Not familiar with the brand so they were quick to help and I was quickly guided to shoes I eventually fell in love with. I'm happy their heels can also support my wider toe-box. Super comfortable to walk in. Genuine leather. Different sole add-ons provided free, for a better fit. Pricey but I think they're worth for-life. Definitely would love to see them transition from "Designed in Melbourne, Made in China" to "Designed in Melbourne, Made in Australia" 10/10 staff and shoes!

Bought the Pewee White Satin High Heels for my wedding—it was so comfortable. Lasted all day and into the night. An understated beauty: simple and elegant. Appreciated the interchangeable satin straps. The sales assistants were engaged in a conversation instead of actively welcoming customers or providing assistance. Unfortunately, care instructions were omitted, resulting in a noticeable scratch. For satin shoes, remember to use a stain spray for protection. The location is inconvenient and situated away from the CBD.

This review is based off my experience in store with Lily. Lily was fantastic, she helped me try on a pair of Chelseas and her level of service was the deciding factor on whether I purchased Bared vs Rossi vs RM Williams. She was knowledgeable and answered all my questions regarding the warranty, build and pros of the shoe. I loved how personable she was in helping me find the right fitting, she adjusted the sole until it was perfect. It was a great experience overall, I'm hoping this review makes it to her team lead.

Exceptional!! The only word to sum up the outstanding service this company offers. I recently purchased a Mercedes and wasn’t given the service that this company provides. I purchased several pairs of shoes online for myself and family of four, we all have large problematic feet. A lady named Talitha assisted in all the information I required and made for a very simplified exchange process and trying different styles, all via mail. I wish I knew about this company many years ago. 11/10, amazing customer service!!

Bought about 5 pairs of sandals and boots from Bared in the last year as I love how comfortable yet stylish their shoes are! I recommend trying them on in store where they have really helpful staff to advise on whether you should size up or down as some of the sizing isn't 100% true to size. I also read a lot of their reviews on the site to choose which styles to try as I have wider feet and some styles are better for those than others. Shared a photo of shoes for wide feet that are also cute!

Really disappointing experience After being a loyal bared customer for years and having wonderful online customer service I was excited to see they’d opened a shiny new store near where I live Unfortunately every time I’ve gone here the staff are not welcoming, nor are they particularly helpful. The kind of store where they’d rather speak to each other and you’re looking around for someone to help you Hopefully they can improve their training/interest in in person customer service

I had the most amazing experience at Bared Sydney. I had bought 2 pairs of Bared sneakers a few months ago, but stopped wearing them soon after as they hurt my feet. I was hoping to have someone help me with the Bared “fit kit”. And help me they did!! The lovely manager said they would replace the shoes with more comfortable ones AT NO COST! WOW! And Lilly, spent so much time ensuring the new shoes I bought would be comfortable for me!!! BARED FOOTWEAR…… I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!

Came in to return an online purchase. Beautiful store that is nicely decorated, well lit and thoughtfully laid out. The staff are friendly and attentive. I did wait a few minutes to be helped but they give 1-1 attention which is nice. I ended up swapping my shoes and the staff were happy to accomodate. The footwear are quite special with included liners to help with fit and complimentary gel spots to help with any areas that run while breaking in new shoes.

Great quality footwear, and reasonably priced. The Sydney store is designed brilliantly, coping well with the influx of after-work shopping crowds. Staff are friendly and very receptive to needs. Most importantly, they have been trained well: in their stock, how feet work, and the importance of using supportive footbeds. Judy was fantastic to work with, suggesting ideal shoes when the pair I wanted wasn't suitable for my feet. Will be a return customer.

As a dancer I am forever in search of the perfect shoe that doesn't pinch my toes, holds my ankles securely and doesn't run my heels. My podiatrist recommended Bared Foot wear!!! I needed comfortable ,pretty shoes for a choir performance which required a fair bit of standing. I found a perfect match and my shoes required NO breaking in!!!!. Great experience. I have flat feet and bunions and am a bit self conscious of my feet but the man who assisted me (apologies I didn't get the name) was absolutely wonderful. He listened to my concerns and wants and gave me suggestions and helped me with a bunch of options and made me feel comfortable and well looked after. Will definitely go back. It's nice to find shoes that will fit and be comfortable as it's hard with wide feet

Once I entered the store, Alice was so welcoming and helpful. She helped me find the perfect wedding shoes and brought me so many options outside of the two that I picked. She was really patient and answered questions including sharing her opinion on what would look best and how I should feel in the shoes. I was torn between to options and she even gave me a solution. Shoes are super comfortable and customer service is 10/10

Amazing Australian company with a great philosophy and customer service ethos. This experience comes as close to what you would expect to a custom fitting experience with a few podiatrist certified options to give you a great fit and comfort! Started buying shoes from Bared about 5 years ago and have never been disappointed with a pair. Their shoes are designed to support flat feet and orthotics, and are still stylish and wearable. I have their sneakers, sandals and slippers. SO happy they have opened a store in Sydney. Now I can browse properly. Daniel served me today and he was excellent. Very patient, helpful and attentive. Great customer service - allowed me to try multiple shoes in the comfort of my own home. Easy to communicate with and nothing was ever to difficult. Tried on multiple shoes before I found the right fit and customer service was so accommodating. Refunds were simple and all postage was paid for by BARED. Love it! The shoes itself are great quality - however you just need to break them in.

I have been to the King Street, Sydney store twice now. The first time with my friend who bought a pair of sneakers and the second time I bought a pair of sneakers. Anastasia served us both times. She measured our feet for correct size, she was knowledgeable about our special needs and she was attentive and patient. I will most certainly be returning for more shoes in the future.

Such a beautiful space with gorgeous, practical and supportive shoes. Was recommended by my podiatrist to come here and the shoes were very comfortable and supportive. The store assistants were incredibly helpful and patient with me when deciding on which shoes to get, and I can definitely feel the difference after wearing them compared to my other shoes. No more foot pain!

Call me old fashioned, but when bared firmest opened in sydney, the staff were so enthusiastic about the brand and helping you understand the shoes and the fit. I feel like the quality of customer service has declined and the experience isn't special anymore. Also, the shoes I bought are already starting to fall apart. I have contacted customer service about this as well.

I have quite big orthotics that take me up by a couple of sizes to get them in and I needed a more rounded toe that most shoes. Tried on a number of pairs until we got a fit. Very happy. It was such a lovely experience in the physical store. My first time shopping here and I wish I know about this shoe brand earlier. Pleasant experience dealing with the staff while buying leather boots. They are highly informative and knowledgeable and extremely attentive to your needs. Incredible service both online and instore. They were so patient and accommodating when I needed shoes for my wedding. Had issues with sizing and they were quick to send a replacement. So rare to find beautiful footwear in a wide size 41 and still feel like a princess. The quality is so good I went back to buy 2 more shoes for work!

Great shoes (versatile, can dress up or down, neutral tonne, easy to mix and match, comfy). Not exactly the cheapest though, but you get what you pay for. I got some help from Bernie at the King St store. She was super helpful, accommodating, and professional. Bought 3 pairs at the end, and will definitely come back.

Efficient and swift service. I came to exchange an online purchase as the style did not suit me. The new style was not available in my preferred colour however a pair was located elsewhere and delivery organised. All info was linked to my mobile which made the process so quick.
