Bartell Drug; no longer Seattle's gem of an independent pharmacy -- is now the dreadful Rite Aid through and through. Just like other monopolies, their motto seems to be "we don't care, we don't have to." In fact it's worse: "we'll judge you according to what medication you take, what it's for, and put most of our effort into aggravating your peace of mind and health". It would take far less effort to do their jobs with professionalism, were that they were capable of that. Staff are snotty and dismissive, like doing their jobs is too much to ask. I find I can't talk to them because they talk over me while I'm talking. Then say they don't understand because I'm repeating myself. Then whine about needing to get off the phone, or away from the counter, without solving a thing. If you ever do need to get their attention, mention the name of a controlled substance and suddenly they fly to attention and the abuse begins. Especially from the vapid blonde male pharmacist who wears a giant cross necklace. Sadly I didn't notice his name; just his pungent bad attitude. They are not short staffed or overworked as some reviewers suggest. There are always 4 to 5 people working in the pharmacy, with two pharmacists. The root of the problem is Rite Aid, who has been lousy for as long as I can remember, no matter which state of the Union you're in. Do yourself a favor and forego trying to do business with these incapable, incompetent uncaring fools. I gave them a second chance, then cut my losses and switched to Bob Johnson's pharmacy in Greenwood. Their hours aren't as extensive but they get infinitely more work done and they are helpful, considerate and kind.

These pharmacist are really really really rude. They’re unprofessional, and they have people in the front who don’t have license giving medical advice. Lines are sooo long & they don’t answer the phones. They said that they turn off the ring sound. Today my sister went to order my father’s insulin and told her that the insurance didn’t cover it which he’s been having that insulin for quite a while now and we got a hold of the insurance which took us three hours and they called them and they had said that the insurance does cover, but they didn’t have any in stock until tomorrow. I go in person to confirm they have it and all I get is two unprofessional pharmacist. One told me I didn’t have to come in to confirm because he has spoken to the insurance and I told him the reason why I came in I thought it was safer to make sure that my father’s insulin was ready for the next day and the big Asian lady responded, didn’t he just tell you that it will be ready for tomorrow turned around and started smile. Iam not a joke and if you don’t like your job, then don’t be a pharmacist simple as that. This pharmacy has been giving us problems for years and has changed alot and always wasting peoples time not to mention my father almost died because they had someone give us false information that led my father not to be able to pick up his medication. Shame on these people!!!

I was freaking out because my blood pressure got so high, I felt like my eyeballs were shaking-and my head was pounding. After fighting through traffic-I realized I had no mask. Ugh. Luckily, the Bartells staff was friendly and efficient about getting me one. As I waited in the drop off (prescription) line, I overheard the rep tell a customer it would ready in 45 mins. Ugh. So, as I walk up, I explained I called in a prescription, sometime ago, and it was mostly likely put back because I never picked it up. I proceeded to explain to the woman, my current condition, and asked if I could have just one pill while I wait because my blood pressure was sky rocketing. She didn’t seem to happy about my request, and said probably not but I’ll ask the pharmacist. She immediately came back and told me to wait by the pick up window. The pharmacist immediately appeared with my full prescription and asked if I needed a bottle of water. She told me to just take the med and to please let her know when I was leaving, so they knew I was okay. In the time that it has taken me to type this review, while I sit in my car-I am starting to feel better. Thank you to the staff member that understood the severity of my situation-I’m so grateful!

Bartells was great before it was bought out by Rite Aid. I could normally expect my prescriptions to be ready at the time (many times even before) the automated system told me it would be ready. I requested my medication to be ready by Saturday at 10AM, Monday at 11AM only one of them were done for some reason. I was told it was due to staffing shortages, which I understand. I didn't get an estimate of when it'd be ready so I went back and asked someone else, she told me it was being refilled at another location and would "take a while", I let her know I am completely out of these medications and need it TODAY. She told me to wait 30 minutes, so I came back 30 minutes after and it wasn't even looked at. The pharmacist said to wait to get a text, even though I stopped getting texts when rite aid took over so I likely won't be getting that. I asked for an estimate and he said "probably this afternoon". I asked if I wanted to switch to a different pharmacy should I have them contact bartells, she said yes. I went to the Fred Meyer and they even said they never answer the phone and the voicemail is full. This is absolutely unacceptable. You are messing with people's LIVES.

AVOID this place!!! I've been a customer for a 1 year but looks like they were terrible before and getting worse. I was still letting things go through like: - Pharmacists never answering phones - Prescriptions ALWAYS LATE - 30+ minutes in line each time you go just to get a: "we didn't receive anything", "you need to call your doctor", "your prescription will be ready tomorrow" (instead of two days ago) - Messing up refill orders - Messing up delivery orders (no address confirmation) - Awful customer service and communication about when your medication will be ready - Unresponsive mobile app Unfortunately today I had a bad experience with "Susan". While trying to get a solution (very calmly and understanding that it could be someone else's problem) to my unfulfilled order. She acted very defensive and upset, just repeating what she had in her screen and finally calling a supervisor yelling: "we have an argument here!!" so the full pharmacy will get that I was a problem for everyone and not a customer. Why do they have to be that rude? totally unnecessary. I'm moving to Walgreens.

Bartells, when locally owned, was by far and away the best pharmacy, and I have been using them at different branches for many years. After their sale to a national chain, they have sunk to the very bottom of the pack. They are always making mistakes with quantities of medications, despite my correct prescription and speaking to a person directly to request refills. The app does not work. The automated refill system and texts send incorrect information - I was told by pharmacy staff to just ignore them when they arrive. And, the lines! There was NEVER a line for all of those years. There is pretty much always a line for pickups now, and I have waited as long as half an hour. Staff is uniformly unhappy now because they are understaffed. I have told myself countless times since the sale that “today is the last time” I will use them. But, today really is the last straw - I’ll be happy to go to a different , better run national chain instead. So sad to see such a disastrous fall from the top for what was once a local gem.

I will never back to this location. the guy told me that they don't have my prescription and I asked him to double check and he still said they don't have it. I called my doc to confirm and they said they just accepted the request, a minute after I left the counter. I had to wait for the long line again and still being told to wait another 15 min after talking to another lady. She said they will call my name once it's ready. I was very close to the counter but didn't hear them call my name at all. Worst part was, After waiting 35min and talking to the guy again at the counter, he said I have this ready 10min ago. And he said he called my name. I was right there by the counter waiting and didn't hear my name at all. And I'm 100% sure he knew that I was waiting, right in front of the counter. If he knew that was my med, why didn't he just call me over in the first place. But instead, he made me wait another 10 min. What a waste of time. Don't pick this place to pick up your prescription. Horrible service.

This pharmacy has been a hassle for a while now. I’ve had trouble with them not billing my insurance correctly despite confirming it every single time and asking them to update the file so it doesn’t take so long at pickup. I have a medication that is literally life or death for me if I go without it more than a certain amount of time due to rapid weight loss….it’s been a week now without it. I tried calling 5 times today to try and get some help, but no one answers and the voicemail box is full. If you’re in any kind of rush, don’t stop here. I’ve never waited less than 30 minutes at the pharmacy to pick up and usually it’s an hour or more. I’ve spoken to staff at other Bartells who said they can’t find enough staff to hire there so people from other stores have to take shifts there and I honestly believe it given the way things have been handled for the last year or so. It was great when I first started using it but as soon as Rite Aid took over fully it’s been a nightmare.

Apparently nothing has changed in the last two years since the stores went downhill after the buyout. From what I gather, all of the Bartell stores are horrible now. I hadn't realized this as I didn't know of the sale and hadn't been living in Seattle most of the time. A prescription was sent to the Greenwood store by my doctor, I gave it a few days, and after receiving no notice by text, email, or phone, I called. No answer, left a message. Six hours later called back, no answer, left a message. They never returned the call. The next morning I went into the store, waited in line for twenty minutes only to be told they didn't have enough to fill the prescription and it would be at least five days before it could be refilled. They were obviously hurried, which I believe was the reason for the rudeness I experienced, but I don't care, the service sucked and they were rude. I told them to cancel the prescription and took my business elsewhere. Rite Aid ruined Bartell. It's sad.

Called in before coming, and was told the medication would be ready for 2:30. Came here until 4:00PM, told me the order was still not ready. Asked me to wait for 20 minutes. Waited in the store for 30 minutes and asked again, then was told to wait for another 30 minutes. Don’t trust their words. And don’t waste your time. More than 60% of my experiences here are a waste of time, either waiting for medication to be ready or coming here to be told I can’t pick the medication for out of stock, etc. My time should be wasted in this store forever, isn’t it? And many thanks for your cherish for customers’ time. Still waiting on the chair now, and have been waiting for 40 minutes. ——Update—— Finally checked with the stuff and was told the medication was ready, but got no message and no announcement of my name on the broadcast at all. Nice 50 minutes wasted for a medication that was told to be ready 2 hours ago. I’m so glad to enjoy my time on chair.

I just called 3 times and was put on hold without an opportunity to speak with anyone, total wait time of one hour. I gave up. I'm about to travel and require BP medication, the script was submitted to Bartell Drugs 4 days ago and no update. I'm going back to my provider to request the refill is cancelled and moved to another pharmacy. Their poor service has perpetuated since 2020 and only gets worse. I was very loyal to Bartell Drugs, it's sad to see this local company get flushed. As others have shared, do not send your prescription to this pharmacy. There are extended waits to get a prescription filled. If you have a true medical need, they may put you in danger due to their inability to fill it. Beyond the long lines and rudeness of the pharmacy, bottom line is they don't fill in a timely manner. My heart goes out to those that require their medications but can't get them filled.

OLD TIMEY DRS. WHO USE PHONES--I needed antibiotics for a dental procedure, so I checked "renewal" on the Bartells site, as they asked--it was a renewal. I also had my dentist's office called it in a few days before. The website said it was "in process" for two days. Finally, the evening before my dental procedure I went up there and they said, "in process just means that I'd clicked "renew" but they hadn't heard back from the doctor. I said that she'd called it in. The pharmacist said, well it could be we haven't heard the message if it's "an old timey doctor who uses the phone." I was furious. I made an emergency call to my dentist and she called them right then and there. Told me later that they don't listen to their phone messages. So lots of drama for what should have been simple. Bartells was never like this before Rite Aid took over. Looking for a new pharmacy.

This review is for the pharmacy specifically. I’ve had good experiences with other Bartell’s locations, however as others have stated this one is especially bad. The staff here has always been helpful (only reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1), but I think they are just severely understaffed overall. The last few times I’ve come here there has been a 30+ minute wait in line. I rarely get calls when my prescriptions are ready, and trying to call them is useless as no one ever picks up the phone. Only once has someone answered when I called, and that was after being on hold for almost 30 mins. All the other times it just sends me to the voicemail inbox, which is always full and so you can’t even leave a message. Even if it’s out of your way, you will almost certainly be better off going somewhere else to get your prescriptions.

Just moved to the neighborhood and switched my pharmacy to this Bartells. Called them up after received a text message that my "prescription" was ready although I hadn't ordered one. They had a high co-pay listed when I clicked the link, indicating that they didn't have my accurate insurance info, which is Medicaid and has no pharmacy co-pays. Had to call 5 times before someone even picked up, the voicemail box was full. The woman was grumpy and when I said I would check the text message they had sent, since she couldn't locate any refill for me, she quickly said she would put me on a 'brief' hold - this during something that took me 5 seconds. Then she left me on hold until I eventually hung up. I will find another pharmacy in the neighborhood. For now I'm drving out of my way to get to the Bartells at Roosevelt Sq.

I have always used Bartell’s pharmacies and so when we moved to Greenwood I naturally chose the Bartell’s closest to our home— but after about a year or trying to fill prescriptions here I can confidently say DO NOT GO THERE under any circumstances. The people are really kind so I feel really bad writing this review, but something is so deeply and systemically wrong with that establishment. It’s almost comical— I’ve waited for over an hour, pharmacists and cashiers are always having technical issues & losing prescriptions. There are always miscommunications about when refills are ready, and it is absolute chaos every single time. I’ve never experienced anything like it honestly, could even be worth a trip just for the spectacle. I hope the nice, well meaning employees are able to find a better place of work!!

Like other reviewers have their noted, their parking enforcement is predatory and I don't know how they determine what is considered on premises but it needs to be evaluated. We received a ticket within minutes of parking here while picking up a few items in the store. Our receipt literally shows us having completed a purchase at Bartell's few minutes after the time of the ticket and were in and out of the lot in less than 10 mins. Where else could we have been? Furthermore disputing the ticket is only available by mail and what constitutes proof/valid reason to dispute left vague. This is a frustrating system to have to navigate and makes the whole property a no go for us in the future. Please take your business elsewhere, aggressive parking enforcement like this should be discouraged.

Kind of a strange review. I believe their name is Allen? Allan? Never in my life have I ever seen such kind professionalism from someone being openly attacked. I was astounded. I’ve been in customer service for 12 years and I was just humbled and wowed by how they handled the situation. The patient was in pain and angry and dealing with their own problems and I was just witness to it all. Whatever they were going through, I’m sure it was valid. But regardless the patient unloaded and was furious. Everyone saw it coming and held their breath as it went down. But Allen handled it like a complete champ! I’m bragging to my wife about it right now. I just, idk? Well done. You taught me something today and filled a bunch of perscrips serving Seattle while being under fire. You are a hero.

  • Jackie Alves

Unacceptable. I frequently call to verify that my prescription is ready for pickup (the text notification feature does not work) and get put on hold and I STAY on hold for upward of an hour at a time - just to verify if a prescription is ready for pickup! And the woman answering the phone is so rude! If I could move to a different pharmacy I would - my insurance doesn't cover prescriptions from Kroger/QFC/Fred Meyer anymore; but when I've had extra money, I've actually had my prescriptions sent to QFC (paying out of pocket full price) in the past because (if I can) I would rather pay full price than have to deal with Bartell's. They need more people answering phones and a better way to organize information - it's disorganized chaos every time I go in person.

  • Rajinder Singh

I never do reviews, but this place needs it. Rite Aid, you have absolutely RUINED Bartells. As a Seattle local I always loved Bartells. I have gotten my prescriptions here for years. The one star is for the few long time employees that still work here. The phone is answered maybe 5% of the time, so the only way you can talk to a pharmacist is to come in person. That then makes for long lines. I have spent 30+ minutes in line for each of the last 3 days trying to get medicine for my husband. If you are older, have limited mobility, or limited transportation- this pharmacy is not for you. Stay far away from here. Rite Aid, please do Bartells a favor a sell to another company that will restore the good Bartells name. Seattle locals will thank you.

  • Natalie Lomeli

Horrible pharmacy ever!!! I’ve been coming here for years and ever since they have new staff they have been horrible. They don’t answer the phone and one day I decide to go in and while I was waiting In line I decided to call and the phone rang but the sound of the ringer was off and there was a pharmacist next to the phone. Not only that they say the medication is ready a certain time and when I go in they say it’s not ready, having to wait for a long line for nothing. It’s been very frustrating! The only reason why I’m still at this pharmacy is because it’s the closest to my house. I shouldn’t have to change pharmacy for people who don’t want to work! Please do something about it!!! If I can give it zero star I would smh!!!

  • Camille Fioranelli

They have never had a prescription ready on time. I have gone in a day or two later to pick up and I still end up having to wait for them to complete the prescription my doctor sent in. Their notification system is also horrendous. However, the pharmacists have been very kind and helpful when it comes to billing discrepancies that have come about. So while I mostly have negative experiences when it comes to waiting in line for an hour only to be told my prescription still isn’t ready yet, at least the customer interface has been positive; although, I still would strongly advise people to go to a different pharmacy. I will be switching because I simply can’t deal with the wait times anymore.

  • Confidential Val

I tried SO HARD to give my business to Bartells over Walgreens but alas after so many fails - I am going to have to go back to Walgreens. On this occasion, I called my prescription refill in the day before I came. It was to be ready the day before. I come the next day to pick it up. I wait in line for 20 mins only to finally get to the register and be told that they need 20 mins because it’s not done. So, there was ZERO reason for me to call it in a day in advance. Anyway, this has happened before. DONE. One quick update: the staff tried really hard to get my order complete and get me checked out. I don't think it's the staff's fault but perhaps they are just constantly understaffed.

  • John Martinsen

Update: This location seems to be going from bad to worse. The pharmacists are so inattentive and disinterested that it seems amazing they could be bothered to finish their education. Bartells may have lasted a hundred and thirty years, but these guys would be hard pressed to keep customers for a hundred and thirty days. Great location and the pharmacists and overall staff are great. Unfortunately they seem to hire the most inefficient, incompetent, and inept people available for the pharmacy counter. Picking up your prescriptions takes forever and usually involves at least a couple of mistakes and re-do’s in what seems like a pretty simple process. Had to switch back to Safeway.

  • Dennis Kapoyos

When I first started going to this pharmacy 4 years ago, they were very good at filling on time. The last 6 months have been terrible. They never have the prescription ready when they say it will be ready and they won’t even start until you go there. Then, the story is always we’re working on it, and it will 45 minutes to an hour which means repeated a trip. This last time I have them 5 days to fill the prescription only for them to say they are still working on it. That’s not acceptable. I am no longer taking my prescriptions to this pharmacy. I get that COVID has a large impact on staff, but what is not acceptable is dishonesty. Please avoid this pharmacy for your own good.

  • Gerald Sirchio

The pharmacy seems to be always busy, I do not recommend transferring your prescription there and they never answer the phone. I'm not trying to give a bad review. I think they just have too many customers for them to handle. I just tried calling again today and this is the 5th time in the last 3 weeks that I've tried calling and nobody answers the phone. Besides the fact that when they're almost closing, there's a line almost out the door waiting on the pharmacy. They're just overworked. ** More to add. I just showed up today at 6:53 with nobody in line and I got turned away because apparently you can't get your prescription unless you're 15 minutes before they close.

  • Kris Weber

It is outrageously irresponsible to have a voice mail stating that the pharmacy is open until 10PM when it is actually open until 8PM. It's not the end of the world for me to go without my prescription tonight, but what if I had been picking up morphine for a relative in hospice or some other life or death situation? If the voice mail were accurate, I would have arrived at the store before 8PM. Apparently the pharmacists at the Greenwood store (who I have always found to be great, by the way) have no control over the situation because only "corporate" can change the voice mail. But whoever is to blame, this is really unconscionable for a PHARMACY.

  • Stephen O'Bent

Incompetence and mismanagement reign at the pharmacy - the last several times we've tried to get a prescription filled, we've received a notice that it was ready, only to be told in-person that it'd be another several hours with no explanation or apology. I'm not usually one to write reviews, but my dog just puked everywhere because I couldn't get her cancer meds despite multiple attempts and assurances that they'd be ready for pickup. Never had any issues in the main store; they seem great. I don't know what's happening at the pharmacy but I'm done hoping it's gonna get better and I'm switching future prescriptions to a different location.

  • Ernest Popescu

Stay away… inevitably and without exception, they will disappoint you. They have an automated system for prescription renewals, the system makes “ready-by” promises - which are never met, e.g. yesterday my prescription should have been ready after 4, according to THEIR system. I show up around 5:30, wait in line for 20 minutes. Only to be told the prescription isn’t ready and to wait another 20 min. Why even have a system!? The lines are long, the staff is slow, they’re completely unreliable. AVOID this pharmacy and spare yourself unnecessary aggravation. I’ve given it many chances, but this was the last.

  • Elisa Wirkala

Huge lines and no one to answer the pharmacy phones. The pharmacy staff here is seriously overworked and I’m sure the pharmacists and team are exhausted by the huge lines and upset customers. Still, that’s no reason to treat a customer badly when they need assistance (most pharmacists and staff have been good, for the record, but today was highly unpleasant). To top it off, the store manager said some incredibly inappropriate things to me and another customer while we waited in line yesterday about people on government assistance and how “no one wants to work these days”. Totally inappropriate rant.

  • Rose A

The pharmacy never answers the phone. After trying a half dozen times they pick up and immediately place me on hold without giving me a chance to speak. I was on hold for over 25 minutes and then just gave up. This has happened more than once regardless of the time of day that I call. Never can leave a voicemail because it’s always full. Do I really have to drop in just to ask if my Rx was received? Then if it’s not there or not ready, I’ll have wait half an hour or more, or come back altogether. There has to be a better way. Other Bartell locations seems to answer their phone more.

  • Christie K

I tried to mention to the pharmacist that I had tried to get them to transfer my prescriptions. He immediately told me "he wasn't going to deal with my attitude and walked away." He then made a huge fuss to other pharmacists that he needed someone to "deal with this person." I just left. What BS. There's not even anyone you can speak to about the disrespect. The corporate customer service line states that "they are ko longer taking feedback on this location." I wish I never had to deal with them again but since they won't transfer my prescriptions I have to for now.

  • Albert Shin

Do not come this pharmacy. Medications are never ready on time, the staff don’t pick up the phone, and you basically have to come in and pray they have your stuff ready, otherwise just come back. Oh and they don’t tell you when. Not blaming the understaffed pharmacists, just saying take your business elsewhere, then maybe there will be some accountability. Whoops a little update: the pharmacist lied to me to too about the doctor canceling one of the medications. You are messing with peoples lives and their long term health here. Again do not do your business here

  • Sarah A

So sad to see how the service here has deteriorated since Rite Aid bought Bartell’s. I’ve been trying to get a medication for a week, and have gone in 4 times so far. Every time I’m told “sure we can get it done today, we’ll text you”, and every time they don’t fill it. They seem to be over a week behind. The people here are friendly, but if you realistically can’t fill it today please tell me that instead of promising over and over again that it will be ready. This has been going on for months and this is the last straw. Don’t come here for your medications.

  • Angela Aspon

Store is great, the pharmacy is the worst. I’ve used Bartells for years and this pharmacy has turned into absolute trash this past year. I request a refill for a certain time online and it is never ready. Then when I am at the store to pick it up I am always asked if I need it today which I find incredibly rude. I’m here and I requested it for an earlier time so yes I need it today. Also when they do refill on time it shows in progress for days. I have no trust in this pharmacy and regret it every time I use them lately. And they don’t answer any calls.

  • Ln Gdn

Bartelle is a wonderful Family store with great store staff members who are always kind and helpful ..BUT the PHARMACY Service has totally deteriorated. Long lines, medications not ready despite automated message saying when pick up is due. When automated message says they will call, they do call your provider but will not call you if your Doctor did not call them. You will find this out late when you pick up due medication because they won't have it. Then they will suggest you call, leaving you with no medication. We plan to move our prescriptions.

  • Madellen Szymborski

The average wait in line for the pharmacy is 15-20 minutes. The last time I got my prescription filled, they gave me 29 pills instead of 100 like it said on the label. When I asked if it was the right amount the pharmacist looked me in the face and told me it was 100 pills (I counted, it was 29). I had to get back in line to tell them that no, actually, they’d given me ⅓ of what I needed, and then had to wait more while I waited for them to give me my other 71 pills and I’m still not positive they gave me what I needed. Do not go here.

  • Ourrias

I’m seeing lots of negative reviews, but my experience with Bartells Greenwood pharmacy today was positive. I needed Paxlovid, and it was the only pharmacy in North Seattle that had it. My Dr. called it in and when I called to check if it was ready for pickup, I waited fewer than 10 minutes to speak with a pharmacist. She informed me it would be ready in 10 - 15 minutes, so I sent my brother to get it. He reported that the wait at the pharmacy wasn’t bad. I’m very grateful they had the medicine and could get it to me the same day.

  • LInda Castine

Received text medications were ready for pickup 3 days ago!! Waited 30 minutes on line and told by rude cashier not ready!! She could not find me in the system for several minutes although I have been a customer for many years. This pharmacy used to be timely and efficient.. Plan to move my prescription to mail order! Initial 1 star was changed to 3 stars after pharmacist stepped in and was able to problem solve and provide medications. Downgraded to 1 star due to recurrent inefficient service. Always has wrong quantity

  • Rio Bolden Hall

The pharmacy assistant was totally rude and unprofessional and the pharmacist supported him in this. They told me that my long term medications were transferred to another pharmacy, so they could not fulfill them. They could have easily called the other pharmacy and had it sent back. But their only solution to me was to go somewhere else bc they were busy. I switched my pharmacy permanently tonight and will contact their corporate tomorrow. They were rude, dismissive and I was feeling horrible for lack of my medicine.

  • K C

Ditto to all of the above. After 2.5 years of filling rx's at least twice a week (would have been less if they actually had them ready on time), missed dosages to rx's not being ready even though refill requests were put in at least a week in advance the last straw was misgrossly over charging me for an rx. Insisting it was sent to insurance which it never was as I confirmed with my insurance company they should not have charged more than $25 I've finally lost my patience and they have lost my business.

I'm days without a medication that Bartells will not fill for me. I contacted my provider and was told there was no reason Bartells could not fill it. I could not refill online for mysterious reasons, I tried calling multiple times (no one picks up) and then finally went over there waited in line for 30 minutes to ask why. They then claimed that my provider had cancelled my rx, which simply isn't true. This was the final straw. This location has a history of long lines, late RX. Go elsewhere.

  • Dave R. (seabiscuit)

This used to be a nice drugstore. Friendly staff, a reasonable assortment of strange things, and really nice and efficient pharmacy staff. A while ago they were bought (CVS?). Things have gone down hill. The store and pharmacy seem understaffed, pharmacy is getting (understandably) less friendly and helpful. It's difficult to keep track of when the pharmacy is actually open (it used to be safe to assume 8am to 10 almost every day). Feels like this is being run into the ground. Makes me sad.

  • Dan Cumberland

I received a parking ticket without leaving the premises. While the store is fine, their parking enforcement is predatory. Take your business somewhere else. EDIT/UPDATE: After filing a formal complaint, I received multiple call backs from the Regional Retail Leader who has credited me with the cost of the ticket. While I still believe the parking enforcement company lacks ethics, I very much appreciate that the store cares and is willing to listen. My family will continue to shop here.

  • Melissa Quintanilha

Worst pharmacy around and I’ll never be back again even though I’ve been a customer for years. Nobody ever answers the phone, forcing you to come in person. Then when you come in person, the lines are always huge. And now, to top it off, they close at 7pm even though both the website and phone prompt says it closes at 8pm. And the staff doesn’t care if you need an emergency medication that same night. Complete disrespect for the customer. I’d give zero stars if I could.

  • Andres

This location: - Poor customer service. - Rude employees. - Understaffed. Bartell's as a company: Online prescription system is horrible. After booking a COVID vaccination appointment more than a month in advance in preparation for a work trip, they cancelled it one day before the appointment. I ended up getting COVID during that trip. If circumstances are out of your control, fine. Just be honest with customers. Don't promise things you can't follow through on.

  • Dennis Galvin

I really want to like this place and give it lots of five star love. The pharmacy is understaffed compared to a few years ago. The phone renewal system works decently, but the last several prescriptions haven't been ready when promised. The rest of the store is great. Adequate staffing and products usually in stock. Staff everywhere are very courteous and helpful. Good selection, reasonable prices and they're doing well at the small chain store vibe.

  • Coriann Presser

If I could give them zero stars I would. Since being bought-out this location has taken a nose dive into the ground. I'm currently standing in a pharmacy line of 19 (!) with many waiting on the side for prescriptions that they were told were ready, but aren't. Whats worse, if I leave and come back another time the wait will be worse or try over the lunch hour and the pharmacy will be closed. Try anywhere else before using this pharmacy.

  • Taylor D. (Pet Sounds)

Is their pharmacy website a social experiment? Why even have the option to refill your prescription online when it goes nowhere each and every time? Getting anybody on the phone or talking to a tech in person is next to impossible so you’d think their website would be efficient. Do they just not feel like refilling prescriptions or contacting your doctor when you request them to? I guess this is why Amazon is taking over.

  • Elizabeth Shimp

Should be minus 5 stars. My prescription expired, called my Dr to fax one in. I was told Bartells requested it and it was faxed on 1/12. It is 1/21 can't order by automated system. Called pharmacy 5x no one answers. Left 3 messages and no one has called me back all week. Certainly glad having my prescription filled isn't urgent nor life threatening. Worst service ever! I highly suggest using any other pharmacy

  • Litsa Dremousis

The pharmacy says they’re at least five days behind. One of the staffers told me that no one will work in their pharmacy and that the pharmacists rotate in and out from other stores. It took over an hour for me to get one of my cancer meds that my prescribing physician phoned in on Tuesday. Many customers were complaining and the staff looked exhausted. I’ve included the line from when I left:

  • Aga K

This place has gone down the hill. I've had a prescription in progress for the last 4 days. I needed it yesterday. Came in to wait in line for twenty minutes to be told i need to be back in an hour and that it's not their fault it's late. I also called multiple times today to check on it but not once did someone pick up the phone. Moving my prescriptions elsewhere this place has gotten awful.

  • Aimee Donaldson

The WORST pharmacy on the planet. Prescriptions are constantly late. Phones are rarely answered and if they are, you’ll be on hold forever. Allison the pharm tech needs some customer services skills training as well as the female manager who HUNG UP on me when trying to get vital information. I’ve already called corporate. When will bartells actually take actions against their employees?

  • Ru Mahoney

Spare yourself and don't use the pharmacy. They've had our perscriptions for over 48 hours. FINALLY got a text they're ready. Drove over and they only have 1 of the 2 done and they're closing in 15 minutes. Sometimes people urgently need medications. Now waiting to a third day is just ridiculous. This is always the case with Bartells. Absolutely switching to a different pharmacy.

  • Cody Sumrall

They're genuinely the worst. The staff used to be helpful even if the store itself sucked, but now the pharmacy staff sucks too. Transfer to literally any other pharmacy and you will have a better outcome. Edit: Elma is back, and she’s always awesome. It seems like the normal pharmacy staff is back, and they’re way better than the guys they had running the toll for a few weeks.

  • Kendra Kainz

Terrible customer service! My experience with this pharmacy (multiple times) has been; EVERY time I call in my prescription in advance ( 12hrs, 24hrs, 48hrs)...it is NEVER ready and I'm left waiting longer than I should. What is the point?? I'm never using this location again. You are better off having your prescription mailed to your home or switching to another pharmacy.

  • Anabel

Do not use this store as a pharmacy - it is impossible to reach someone on the phone because they are terribly understaffed (not the workers' fault) and obviously have terrible upper and corporate management who don't care. You will not be able to get your prescriptions on time. You will not be able to reach someone on the phone. Wait times in line tend to be 45 mins +.

  • Joey Carson

Just go in and experience the long wait times, the lack of ever answering the phone, having your prescriptions not show up for delivery, pharmacy staff who are uninterested in the unique problems you’re experiencing with their services, the junkies stealing medicines off the shelf right in front of their security. Can’t wait to change pharmacies. This place is a joke.

  • Abhishek Choudhary

Just don’t even bother if you need a prescription. It’s so understaffed it’s not even funny. I guess it is a little funny how bad it is. Before they even start processing a new prescription you need to come in and request it. Yes, even if they already got it from your dr. And they never pick up the phone. Literally ever. The line is always 30 min deep minimum.

  • Jill Chiang

I should have read the reviews before I came here. Don’t fill your prescription here - other pharmacies like Walgreens and CVS are organized. They had well over a day to fill my prescription and didn’t even have my name in their system even though my doctor’s site was clear as day that it was sent to them. I’ll avoid this place at all costs for medicine.

  • Kip Simmons

Auto- refill failed. Manually requested refill in app for pick up in four days. Seven days later, not filled. Calling didn't do much good because they are so short-staffed. AGAIN! Customers tonight were furious because of long lines. AGAIN! And gate closed at 7 PM with over 10 people still in line. The Greenwood pharmacy needs more help from corporate.

  • Kevin Lederman

If I could leave zero stars I would! Once a proudly owned family business that provided great service, this place has become the WORST since the Rite Aid buyout. Called 3 times today to see if prescription was ready - no answer. Went buy this evening as website says Pharmacy open to 8pm, only to be told that they closed at 7:00. What a mess!!!

  • Eva Malonis

I’m going to go ahead and add to all the negative reviews and say that Bartells is absolutely, inexcusably horrible. If they can’t do the bare minimum they should close. Why are they still open giving people false hope that they can get their medication in a reasonable time? I hope they get sued and the whole company closes for good.

  • Melanie Davis

This is by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They will NOT answer their phone, they are at the very least 5 days behind, and they consistently mess up my prescriptions preventing me from even getting them. Do NOT use this pharmacy unless you want to be stressed out and angry every time you need your medication.

  • Rachel Tompa

Unbelievably rude staff at the pharmacy. They are constantly out of medications and snark at you or hang up on you when you dare to ask when your prescription might be available. Pretty incredible that people this rude and uncaring have found their way into not only the customer service industry, but the medical profession.

  • Troy J

After waiting 16 hours for an emergent prescription to be filled, I waited in line for 1/2 hour to be told that the person in front of me would be the "last person before lunch". I came back an HOUR LATER. Waited in line for ANOTHER 1/2 hour to be told that they would have to text me in an hour or TOMORROW! Do not go here!

  • Jeremy

Severely understaffed, nobody to answer phones, or return messages. The line is regularly 10+ customers long. Try Bob Johnson pharmacy up the street. They answered my call immediately and at worst their queue is 10min long. Any suggestion by Bartell’s suggesting this is not typical is either misinformed or disingenuous.

  • Mackie Johnson

Everyday this week I have been attempting to contact the store manager, I think the managers name is Mamda or whatever but when I go into see them they are never there but are told the manager is supposed to be there between 8-5. I also call multiples times a day and still no call back. Who is the district manager???

  • Joy Hawkins

I hoped to get my flu vaccine at Bartell's - as I usually do - however you cannot schedule at the Greenwood store online, cannot get through on the phone. Reaching out via email elicits a response from Rite Aid Corporate who reports they have no way to help. I used to love this store - before they were bought out.

  • MANISHA BHAT

I work at a Dr. Office and I had to call the main # to be told that the pharmacy does not answer the phone, they take messages for the pharmacy and when they are free they will call me. Very upsetting as my patient needs her medication and I need to confirm with the pharmacy some information. What a shame.

  • Valerie Conlon

Really should be zero stars. The pharmacy is impossible! They won’t answer the phone, then you wait on line never less than half an hour only to be told that a prescription that you absolutely must have today can’t be filled until tomorrow. ‘Not gonna happen’ is what the guy just told me I am hopping mad.

  • Hannah Roth

Impossible to get ahold of anyone. I’ve called for days, left voicemails, even contacted their customer support line to get someone to confirm that my prescriptions for surgery tomorrow were filled. After calling a handful of times again today, someone finally answered. Would not recommend this pharmacy.

  • Elise

Pharmacy is a mess. I've been waiting on prescriptions that are 2 weeks overdue. Thankfully my life doesn't depend on this prescription. I've called repeatedly, but mailbox is always full. I haven't had time to go to the pharmacy to wait in line for 45 minutes in-person, but that will be my next move.

  • Kristina Dykstra

This pharmacy has gone done hill since the Rite Aid acquisition. No one answers the phone, there’s always a line of people waiting to pick up, another line of people waiting who thought they could pick up but was told to wait, and the drop off window always closed. I recommend going elsewhere

  • Arne Biermans

This pharmacy is terrible. Call in a prescription and get a confirmation call yet it wont be filled when you get there. Call it in 2 weeks prior and it won't be filled. They don't pick up the phone, they can't be bothered to answer questions. This pharmacy absolutely SUCKS on so many levels

  • Dave Z

Waited 15 minutes only to be told "we're working on your prescription right now." What are the chances that having been submitted days ago, they just happen to be filling my prescription "right now?" No one likes being lied to, especially if it means they have to wait in line *again*.

  • David Ross

There's something going on with their prior authorization request system, where insurance says they've granted approval but the pharmacist won't fill the item. I've been there multiple times, with no change. The staff are good, if overworked/understaffed, but something's gone wrong.

  • Avery R

Even if they correctly fill your prescription (unlikely) the pharmacy makes the DMV look speedy. If there are more than 2 people ahead of you in line, LEAVE you will be there a half hour. Their ineptness would be comical if it didn't involve people in need of medications.

  • Olga Buiter

Don’t tell me the wait time for my prescription (which was called in the day before) is 20 minutes when in reality it’s 45 minutes. Or more, I’ll never know because I left without the medication. I wish I’d read the other reviews before going, what a waste of my time.

  • Cedar Anne

worst pharmacy ever. they never pick up the phone and you can’t even leave a voice mail bc it’s always full! i waited in line for over 30 mins only to find out my meds weren’t ready and they were called in 5 hours ago. awful service i’d give zero stars if i could.

  • Alexandria Torres

Pharmacy unfortunately won’t return or answer calls. RXs sent in weeks ahead of time and go unfilled. Rude when you go in person to ask about the status since they won’t pick up the phone. Have been going here for 2 years and this week sent my new RX to PillPack.

  • Carl Frost

Really tired of calling in a prescription and being told it will be ready by noon and when you stop at 2PM it's not ready. Happens way too frequently. Clerk says system isn't good for estimating time. Well then let's say you fix it, it's not something new!

  • Sapphira Glemaud

honestly, just the worst. NEVER picks up the phone, mailbox is normally full, never calls back … plus rude in person and over the phone … god forbid you need something fixed on your prescription in under a month Update in Oct. - still the absolute worst.

  • Alicia Jones

DONT EVER USE THIS STORE. THEY ARE RACIST AND RUDE. THEY MISMANAGE THEIR TIME AND MANAGEMENT DOES NOT TAKE COMPLAINTS SERIOUSLY. We have used this pharmacy for years and going forward we will never purchase ANYTHING from Bartells. This was unacceptable.

  • S. John Calise

Never waited less than 15 minutes in the pharmacy line, and when you finally get to the counter your prescription isn't ready, of course. Had basic prescriptions called in that were still not ready 12 hours later. Worst pharmacy I've ever visited.

  • Craig Thayer

Ever since Rite Aid bought it the service is terrible. They don’t answer phones, or listen to messages, so you have to go in for anything. The pharmacist actually said today -“I recommend you go to a different pharmacy, we are so understaffed.”

  • Ryann

Not the employees fault, but the pharmacy is definitely over capacity. I waited an hour for a prescription in the store unnecessarily because they forgot to call my name over the intercom. Do not recommend coming here for your prescriptions.

  • Meter

3 days to fill simple prescriptions. This is scary for a healthcare provider. 16 people waiting in line for prescriptions. If Bartells can’t fill prescriptions in a timely manor they need to stop taking prescriptions and close the pharmacy!

  • Extra

I will be careful of thinking to fill your prescription here. These pharmacist are very negligent and you can tell they hate their job. I get it they are very busy and get pressured a lot, but if they had a little bit more professionalism

  • Nathan

DO NOT GO HERE. Go to Fred Meyer next door for prescriptions, vaccines, and anything else. This place is slow as hell and they'll tie up your insurance while you try to get them to release your prescription so a better pharmacy can fill it

  • Jeff W (Jwhit)

If you're in pain and you want to die... waiting on your prescription here will likely fill the time until you do. They never check their messages for new call ins, never check faxes, don't fill a single prescription until you show up for

  • Shannon

This pharmacy is a complete joke! They never answer their phones, and when they do they are completely rude. One of the taller gentlemen there once made an out loud joke about my insurance situation. For one that's not HIPAA compliant! I

  • Nick Herrera

Called multiple times to check if my medicine was ready with no one answering the call. Feeling very sick I finally decided to go over there after 4 hours of waiting just to find out it still wasn't ready and I had to wait another hour.

  • Lacy Bruce

3hr wait for prescription when originally quoted 1hr. Prescription common and needed urgently for baby but they absolutely did not care. Walgreens isn’t great but it’s far superior to Bartells - where we will never be coming back to

  • Kirsty Stuart

People have to understand that it is hard to find good employees. Considering short staff, I had great experience with the staff. Remember it took 2 years for the pandemic and it is going to take at 2 years to get back to normal.

  • S You

Staff ignores customers, walks away to avoid them. Nothing in stock. Don’t even carry pharmacy essentials. Fred Meyer across the street has actual pharmacy goods. Like iodine and gauze. What pharmacy doesn’t carry these things?!

  • Joel Gombiner

I received a $49 dollar ticket for parking at this store. Platinum Parking LLC rejected my dispute, despite the fact that I provided receipt evidence. I won't be shopping here in the future. Be careful if you plan to shop here!

  • Diane Dieterich

I’ve had my last straw with their pharmacy. Prescriptions are never filled on time, long lines when you go to the store, and no one ever answers the phone. So sorry to see Bartels go down so drastically after its sale.

  • Reed Gunsalus

Awful pharmacy. They will not pick the phone up. Other Bartells will ask you to go in to get your prescription transferred because they can never get in contact with this location. If I could give it 0 stars, I would.

  • Brendan Berch

This Bartells location's pharmacy averages 5-10 person lines LITERALLY every time I visit. I do everything in my power never to fill my scripts at this location as I know it'll be 30-60 mins lost just waiting in line

  • Lisa Zook

The pharmacy is so frustrating. Prescriptions are never ready when they say they will be. The line is always long and they act annoyed that you’re even there. Suggest trying other places for your medications!
