I am extremely frustrated with this practice. I’m giving it two stars and not one because I thought the techs, some of the receptionists and another vet I spoke to were extremely helpful with dealing with this situation. Ive worked at vets offices for years and currently work with an exotic vet. My dog got suddenly ill and they were able to fit her in the same day with Dr Lepkowsky which was great. Appt went well was impressed with the care while I was there. Unfortunately she was diagnosed with lepto so she had to be hospitalized. I was supposed to be called the same night with her bloodwork results to tell me whether she was in liver or kidney failure or if I had caught it in time. Never got a call. Waited til the next day and still no update. I ended up having to call them repeatedly to get an update on my dog and ask them to please have the doctor call me. Every hospital I have ever been to or worked at has always called at least once a day to update clients on their hospitalized patients. I finally spoke to a receptionist this afternoon (2.5 days since hospitalization) who said she would ask another vet to look at her bloodwork and call me. I don’t remember which vet called but they were very informative and apologized to me for not being contacted which I appreciated. They told me they would speak to dr lepkowsky and have her call me to give me an update when she came in today. She finally called me at 5 pm today to tell me “I think I forgot to call you about your dogs bloodwork but it’s fine. You can pick her up tonight”. Never apologized. Get there to pick up my dog about 45 minutes later and get to find out that my bill is $1300 which is higher than the estimate I was given. Turns out they didn’t include the exam fee or X-rays on the estimate. Explained everything that happened to I think the office manager and turns out only record if me calling was today when I called multiple times requesting updates and the doctor to call. Office manager told me that clients are supposed to call for updates but apologized that I wasn’t updated by the doctor (only clinic I’ve ever heard of doing this) and offered to give me $30 off my $1300 bill. Finally get my dog and the doctor gives me discharge instructions. Again never apologized or said anything about me not knowing whether my dog was dying or not for 2.5 days. The vet and vet tech I work with (exotic vet not dog and cat) both agreed that this situation was absolutely unprofessional and I was right to be angry. I appreciate the receptionist, tech, and other vet that helped me out and they did take good care of my dog but really wish I had been communicated with.
I'm tired of this place and currently looking for a new vet. We initially liked this place, and have had three pets treated here but now, I've come to realize that these people do not care about your pet, and this is a money making operation, full stop. There is nobody on the Bay St Animal Hospital staff who smiles, has any interest, remembers, or cares a about your pets -- from the front desk staff, to the vet techs, and especially a few of the doctors. Dr. Cohen prefers to relate his own back misery to your pet's pain and that's how he explains the expensive, yet inconclusive x-rays. Dr Gordon is the coldest, most arrogant vet I've ever had the displeasure to deal with. He muzzled my tiny dog and caused him (and me) undue stress as my dog does NOT bite. I found it quite unnecessary. Then, he suggested another round of x-rays that would have cost us another $150.00+ since their first round of x-rays a few months back apparently were insufficient... This place refers to your pet as "the dog/cat" or "the pet" , barely acknowledging your beloved family member. How would you like to take your child to the doctor and have the pediatrician refer to him or her as "the child"? This is how offensive it was, particularly after dropping another $200 of my hard-earned money on this currently expanding practice. The only vet worth a toot here is Dr Lepkowski, but this poor woman is clearly so overworked that you almost feel bad for her. Finally, I want to mention that most all the vet techs, while efficient enough, don't seem like the type who really care about animals. They don't remember you or your pet from one night to the very next afternoon. They ask you questions that you have to repeat again to the doctors (what's the point?) ... They have no bedside manner or sympathy with you or your pet. Now that our dog's out of the weeds with his last round of pain, I'm going to find another vet for our three pets. One that doesn't try to stick it to us every time we come in, one that cares about our pets, and one that we can feel confident taking our two cats and dog to without feeling like we're being robbed blind, or treated like an inconvenience.
My husband and I took our 14 year old dog here back in March of 2021. He was peeing blood and we were both devastated that the end was drawing near. We brought him to the closest animal hospital to us being Bay Street Animal Hospital. We got to the counter and I tell the receptionist why we were there and she immediately blurts out that we should’ve made an appointment. Obviously, we did not foresee our dog to be in this condition for us to make an appointment. So her comment was immediately upsetting. She saw our dogs state and without regards to how we were feeling, she was rude. Needless to say, she told us to wait. Shortly after, someone came over, looked at my husband and I and without checking our dog, asked us what do we want to do. She did not even offer to have our dog looked at by a veterinarian. Since my husband and I had witnessed our dog suffering, we were already considering to put him to rest. I had just thought, a professional would look at him first to see what was wrong. With confusion surrounding us on losing our fur-baby, we went into a room for them to start the procedure. Unfortunately, unlike most places that I’ve read about online or spoken to friends about; that give you time with your pet beforehand, this location rushed the whole thing. I was literally there crying hysterically and did not have a moment from the time we said ok to doing the procedure to the time it actually started. The doctor came in and within seconds it was done. I am writing this review because I felt the staff at this facility were just heartless. They did not show any sympathy or empathy for the fact that we were letting go of a member of our family. They were rude and everything was rushed. I would not recommend this place at all and if I could, I would leave them no stars. I feel like I’m leaving some things out but overall this experience was definitely not a good one. I regret ever going there and regret that my inability to process everything happening allowed us permit it all to happen that way.
Do not go here!!!! I took my dog for her first bandage change. They brought her out with no bandage and no cone. I was told she didn’t need a bandage and her cone was completely broken (which it was not , only unraveled). My dog then jumped on my lap leaving blood on my pants from her paw. The tech took her back into the back. I explained to the young lady at the front desk my dogs injury was only 5days ago and I was told at the initial visit to come every 5 days for 1 month for a bandage change. The techs failed to look at her chart before treating her and assuming she didn’t need a bandage by visually looking at her paw. Another woman with brown hair and glasses at the front desk interjected by yelling at me saying I was being rude. (The young lady I was talking to stated she did not feel that way and told the nasty human I was not being rude to her at all) This is the second Time I took my dog there and she was very nasty on both occasions. When I brought it to the Doctors attention. Stating I felt there was discrimination taking place in his office by the front desk staff…. he put his hand in my face exclaiming his son is African American and I need to stop. I returned the gesture asking him to get his hand out of my face. He then ran to the opposite side of the room yelling “now ur doing it back to me”! I left out the room feeling unsafe and attacked, afraid of the accusations the doctor would spew! I demanded my dog and a differ tech bought her out with the same ecollar( cone) we arrived with. I can’t make this stuff up people and sure would’nt spend my time writing this review if It didn’t happen. People need to be held accountable for their actions! I entered bay st animal hospital for help wit my pretty girls paw. Not to be attacked! To the two nice women at the front desk thank you for not attacking me like your fellow colleagues. Thank you for being honest about the circumstances and my actions!
I have mix feelings about this animal hospital. I brought my beloved beagle because he wasn’t feeling well. Although my dog was given a diagnosis and treatment, the doctor failed to tell me that his life was in jeopardy. I wasn’t advised that he was going to die in just couple of hours. My dog had an infection which was treated with antibiotics etc. The doctor had suggested for my dog to be hospitalized if I was not able to care for him. Although I initially contemplated on leaving him at the hospital, this hospital wanted to charge me over $3,000 for 2 days of hospitalization. When I told them that I couldn’t afford such a large bill, I was told “oh we made a mistake” “it’s now $2,000 and some change”. I politely declined because I’m not rich. They then brought it down to $1,500 but I declined again and ended up paying $873 for the day. To me this place seems to be very money hungry. They make up different numbers. Nonetheless, I’m glad I was able to bring my beloved beagle home which is 2 1/2 hours away since we no longer reside in Staten Island. Again despite of having high hopes for his recovery, my heart was crushed when my beloved beagle had passed away in my home shortly after arrival. I did not see it coming nor the doctor had signal to me that his condition was fatal. FYI he had an internal infection and pancreatitis. The following morning I called the animal hospital to inform them of my dogs passing. Even though they empathize with me, they quickly jumped to ask me if I wanted to cremate my dog. I declined since my husband and I chose to have my dog buried on our property where he will always be remembered and loved. Also I’m only giving this place a 2 stars because the front staff at this animal hospital was friendly but I don’t think I’ll be bringing my cats to this place. I’ll go somewhere else instead. This was my own personal experience.
DO NOT GO HERE. We took our dog here because he kept throwing up his food. I felt like he had an allergy since after we changed his food he was starting to feel better. When we brought him in, they recommended an xray to see if he had anything stuck in his stomach. They told us they saw an object in his stomach and he would need surgery. After explaining that I am out of work right now and that we have a newborn baby, we asked about any less expensive and invasive alternatives, we were told no. The vet, Dr Aanonsen said she understands it is expensive and would give us the barium series and clip his nails for no charge. We did not want to see our dog in pain so we said to go ahead with the surgery. They called us right before the surgery to let us know it would begin. I reminded them to please TAKE A PICTURE of the object they would be removing. I was told by the vet tech “ofcourse we always take a photo”. They asked if I wanted him neutered, obviously wanting more $$$ After we took him home we noticed he was still vomiting. I called 3 TIMES & NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK. When we brought him back in the vet Dr Stora told us that a biopsy was done on his stomach which WE WERE NEVER INFORMED. On top of that, they received the results and never cared to inform us. I was told that its because the vet who performed it, Dr Aanonsen was on vacation. After spending $5,500 on an avoidable surgery; our dog was diagnosed with IBD which is essentially an allergy, that I was questioning in the first place. Dr. Stora told me that the lifelong medicine for my dog is “ dirt cheap”. I was charged for the barium, and they never clipped his nails. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE. My dog was not treated with care, they laughed at how frightened he was to be there. I had to walk all the way to the treatment room with him each time because he was scared of the staff.
Wonderful vet and boarding facility!! I have an English Bulldog with very sensitive needs and she felt right at home at Bay Street. It was clear to me that she could sense the good vibes as she wasn't at all apprehensive or skittish as she has been other places. I took Bella in for a basic exam as well as boarding - both of which experiences were 5 star! Although not overly bubbly (which I could care less about), Dr. Cavallaro was incredibly thorough and professional. I felt very comfortable with how she examined and discussed Bella's needs. You could tell that she really had my dog's best interest at heart and also came across as somewhat of a perfectionist (cleaning Bella's ears & nails right there). Loved it. Also, the reception/boarding/vet techs seemed to really give personal attention to the dogs which calmed my nerves a lot knowing that Bella would get plenty of loving. I don't trust the doggie daycare boarding places... too many dogs & not enough supervision. I prefer that she is kept in a secure professionally monitored facility (someone is there 24hrs).. with plenty of attention/care - and that's just what I got! I called to check on her and they knew exactly who she was and when I picked her up she was so fresh - I had forgotten that they give dogs a complimentary bath. Seriously, she looked healthier than when I dropped her off - not even sure how that was possible, ha. Thank you!! Highly recommended :)
I have not personally brought any of my pets to this animal hospital & more than likely will not. My husband & I have called this place a total of 3x with questions of inquiries & each time the receptionist seems confused. I never asked for her name but it’s always the same one to answer cause I can recognize her voice, she always sounds lost & she sounds young. The last time my husband called was to find out if we could bring in our frenchie whose balance was off and had been tugging at his ear. Although it states online that this place offers 24/7 emergency care, we were told unless our Yoda was already a patient at their hospital he could not come in as an emergency visit which just made absolute no sense to us because in order to even become a regular if that’s the case every pet has to start out as a new intake at some point. I also called today to ask if they schedule c-sections & was told by the same young sounding lost receptionist that they did not but if I came in with her having complications due to labor or birth that then she could be seen, only for a second later she to say oh no I’m sorry my co-worker just told me that we don’t offer c-sections so if she came in we would send you to a specialist, smh make it make sense please, how do you not know what the facility you work for offers or not, someone needs to seriously retrain that girl ASAP.
I was bringing my cat Oliver here since 2014.. He was diagnosed with chronic renal failure.. I was bringing him every 3-4 months for blood work, urinalysis, medications. On February 19,2022 I had to put him to sleep.. The Veterinarian on call that night was cold and in a rush. She gave the impression that she wasn’t concerned unless she euthanized him.. just for the money. I was going to take him home and wait a couple of days, but she said if I bring him back there probably won’t be a Veterinarian to put him to sleep. How can you say this to a crying pet parent??? I wound up putting him to sleep that night because I was afraid if he got worse they would turn him away.. So in my mind she was in it just for the money. His regular Veterinarian, Dr Cavalerro was out for surgery.. To this day she has not called me with her condolences!! Seriously!! I took him there for EIGHT YEARS.. SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.. and not even a phone call. DISGRACEFUL! The staff handed me his ashes and said “I’m sorry”.. No compassion in their hearts. This verifies that they are solely a business and they don’t care about pets and pet parents.. My advice.. Find a Veterinarian office that actually cares for animals.. if I ever adopt another pet I will NOT step foot in that office again!
Absolutely wonderful staff and doctors! Our beloved Lab Max was diagnosed with an a aggressive cancer after a tumor was found, removed and tested last August. He was given approx 4-6 months. The entire staff and doctors were so caring and supportive. They explained what our options were. We decided to put him on medication to help him stay comfortable since he was still happy and was having no problem with his daily routines. We were told what to do to keep him as healthy as we could ,what to watch for and that we would know when it was time. Well, he did great and enjoyed his life for 9 more months. It all happened within a week in May of this year. Everything we were told started to happen and we knew. When it came time to do the hardest but right thing to do a pet owner must go through, they were so wonderful, supportive and respectful . it was a very sad but peaceful process. We were so grateful to have him for almost 13 years. Also, reasonable prices, the emergency availability & flexibility is great, and forgot to mention, a wonderful Pet hotel. They took excellent care of our dogs when they stayed there. Thank you all so much for everything and we will be back hopefully this year with a new addition to our family :)
DR A IS AMAZING! So I have a 8 month old Corgi who has had a rough few months. After we got Sam we brought him to Bay Street for his first exam. It turned out he had Giardia (scared at first, but its super common). Dr A and her techs made us feel like family from that moment forward. A few weeks back after a long walk in the park our Sam was NOT himself.. We rushed him right over - the staff was amazing and it turns out our little guy likely ingested something on our walk that he had a horrible reaction to. He spent the night at the hospital and the staff were amazingly attentive and supportive. Just yesterday Sam woke up vomiting. I called and got an appointment for later in the day. Unfortunately Sam continued to vomit and out of an abundance of caution I rushed him to Bay Street. His vet, Dr A was there and immediately saw us. She did a thorough exam, and discussed options for Sam. Ultimately I decided to have her team watch Sam and run some tests. After 6-7 hours Sam was home. Likely a stomach bug- but my little guy is OKAY. The staff from the front desk to the Drs and all of the Techs are wonderful. I have heard people complain about this place because of price- but you get what you pay for. Highly recommend.
Awesome place, caring & compassionate in times of crisis...despite being completely over booked when I called, they were able to help rescue my new semi-feral kitten! I dealt with a wonderful staff upon intake...thank you so much Ashley, Rob & Megan (both), Sarah, Gabriella, Xiomara, Shayna, (sp?), Andre, Patty & everyone else (my apologies if I forgot anyone, I spoke with) who helped, to take care of my girl. When I arrived, I knew her injuries were life threatening & despite the severity of her wounds, they gave me hope & even went above & beyond my level of expectations. They not only saved her leg, but her life too, for that matter :) Thank you again, Dr. Donchik for helping my familiar, Trinity...third kitten, third litter, she also represents a lil piece of my mind, body & spirit...(not just another deja vu kitty from the Matrix, lol) So grateful that you went out of your way, to save her from becoming a three-legged cat too. The staff is awesome, accommodating & always professional...I’m so glad my gf referred me to this place, over the ones much closer to me...take the ride down to Bay Street Animal Hospital when you really need the quality & care for your beloved pet. They will treat your family well.
Overpriced and incompetent. I had my dog spayed here. When I asked the doctor when I needed to bring her back for a follow-up, he said I didn’t have to because they used glue which would dissolve on its own. When I got her home and inspected the wound, there were staples. Then, I needed to get her heart worm medication. I got her first two doses from them. I then tried to order a six month supply from Chewy. They wouldn’t approve, first claiming she needed a heart worm test (she didn’t), then claimed they would only give one dose at a time until she’s a year (her breed generally reaches adult size by 9 months) because the meds are weight based, then they approved the six month supply, then they rejected it, then they approved a three month from chewy, (chewy only sells in 6 or 12 month supply), then they said they wouldn’t give a prescription until she’s a year, but would send me 2 pills in the mail for $63. (Chewy was going to charge $123 for 6 months). I will NEVER use this place again. No one knows what’s going on. You get a completely different answer every time you speak to someone. I’m calling the licensing board to formally complain.
My senior dog was brought in for an echocardiogram scheduled at 5:00pm. When I arrived, I was informed he should be ready for pick up by 7:00pm. Nonetheless, I arrived at 6:50pm, and was told that he was not seen by Doctor Steve, since he didn't arrive yet to perform the ultrasound. I asked, how much longer until he arrives, and they couldn't give me a straight answer. My poor dog hasn't eaten or drank water for over 12 hours, since I was instructed not to give him anything after 7:00am. At this point, I wanted to bring my baby home as I already knew he was in distress, due to blindness and his heart murmur diagnosis, in addition to being hungry and thirsty. However my husband convinced me to leave him for his exam. Dr. Steve has no respect for time and the well-being of our furry pets. This doctor acted irresponsibly by not keeping up with his scheduled appointments while dog owners have to wait to be called at late hours to pick up their pet. Needless to say, if your pet is ever in need of this exam, you should go elsewhere to have it done. Especially if they are old with health issues!
It's so expensive. they can charge your anywhere from $65 to $85 on a Visit .they do crub side pick up.they will charge you the full amount of the $85 just for the them supposably checking up.With this curbside pick up your not able to see what the veterinarian is doing. even checking their vitals and examining your pet There will always be something new with with yourr animal that you will have to come back to pay another CO payment of $85. The free perks that they have include nail trimming on a cat they didn't even do that to my cat. I Spent over $345 just to get my cats are a means and a fecal sample. There is not a welcome packets that most veterinarians do Look around before you settle for this veterinarian practice their hours are good but their pricing and the customer service is poor this is a Good hospital for an emergency when all the veterinarians in Staten Islando are closed but i will still look in to the city if the is an emergency. I used to work at a veterinarian office and this is the worst
My son brought his beautiful Scottish fold to get spayed and she died in their care. She was a beautiful healthy 6 month old kitten. They did blood work before the procedure which showed she was healthy. When I made the appt the receptionist told me Dr. Cavallero would be doing the surgery. Turns out she wasn’t even there that day and Dr. Donchik did the surgery. When he called to tell us she died, he said she must’ve had an underlying condition. I don’t believe that. I think he was careless and gave her too much anesthesia. It was the day before thanksgiving and I think everyone there was in a rush to go home. Please do not trust Dr. Donchik with your pet. He has no compassion and tried to blame this on her breed saying that Scottish folds sometimes have heart issues. That was not the case. This is a common procedure done all the time on cats. I just can’t help but feel he is to blame. Unfortunately I can’t prove it because I was not in the room. I hope he loses his license. Stay away!
I highly recommend, I was extremely happy with the service provided! From the moment I called to schedule an appointment for my 7 month old pup with a mysterious rash, everyone was so friendly, compassionate, professional and informed (ready to answer questions). They took fantastic care of my baby and made sure I was well educated on the medications that were prescribed. The doctor took her time with my dog, which stood out the most to me because more often than not in NYC everyone wants to hurry on to the next customer. I also noticed at the front desk they had a candle and a sign stating "If this candle is lit, please be considerate and keep your voice down as someone is saying, 'goodbye' to their loved one". I was touched by the sentiment and extra detail they put into making everyone feel comfortable even for the worst of visits. Also reasonably priced, $65 for the visit with complimentary nail trim (I think they also clean their ears and eyes if need be for free).
I’ve been to many vets in Staten Island Dr. Parker at Bay Street Animal Hospital is by far the best . His bedside manner is excellent. He explains everything and doesn’t push for things you don’t need. I recently had an emergency with my dog that i was unsure what needed to be done i called the office which was already closed but was able to speak to someone who was taking calls , she was able to get in touch with Dr. Parker within minutes . I can’t thank him enough for giving me that excellent service and peace of mind. I originally called the emergency vet on victory when Bay Street was closed they wouldn’t even let me speak to a Vet they told me i needed to bring my dog in no questions asked . I decided let me just give Bay Street a call maybe they’d at least let me speak to a vet which to my surprise i was able to speak to my Vet . A conversation that took minutes and just a few questions saved the night and definitely saved me money . Thank you Dr. Parker
We've been taking my dogs there since before I can remember and honestly, it has a heartwarming staff, fantastic facilities, and amazing doctors. They not only go above and beyond in care (clipping nails and cleaning ears) but they remembered which of my dogs was which, and are more than happy to answer questions my younger sister has (and she has a lot). Even before my current three dogs, we took my first dog there. They cared for her from one year until the end, and were always careful about the arthritis she had and were very happy to see her. Even in boarding, they remember to keep two of my dogs together (as they have separation anxiety) and are always watchful and mindful about their needs. They even check the wrinkles to make sure there's nothing wrong we can't see (as I have three pugs). They pay special attention to my blind and deaf dog, and I've never seen any vet's face light up the way these do when noisy dogs come in. I recommend wholeheartedly.
I have been using BSAH for almost 20 years. That alone should tell you something. They are an excellent state of the art facility. The Doctors are knowledgeable and compassionate. The staff are welcoming and always helpful. I've boarded my dogs there as well and in all 20 years, NEVER have I been dissatisfied! I also rescue, I bring my rescue pups/foster pups there as well. I had a pup (who has now since passed) with special needs, they never took advantage of me financially through testing unnecessarily, it was just the opposite. They were very upfront about what I would be looking at financially and if it was necessary or just to "satisfy my need to know, which won't change the outcome ". I appreciate their honesty, loyalty and love for all animals. I wouldn't recommend any other place. When my special needs boy passed on, they cried along side of me. They showed grace and compassion in a beyond difficult time. That's why I will always use BSAH as my vet.
DO NOT GO HERE!!! This place is absolutely terrible and a complete waste of time and money. My dog was bought in on Monday for vomiting and lack of eating. They too x rays and gave her nausea medicine and sent her on her way. No problem. My dog continued to vomit and not eat and we took her back on Wednesday and they admitted her overnight. Since we left her there I only was able to speak to a doctor once in 24 hours. I wasn’t able to ever get an accurate update on my dog while in their care and that wasn’t until we had to force early discharge Turns out they did nothing that the doctor said they would. No ultrasound. No sending X-rays to a radiologist. And it took them another 24 hours just to email me the medical records. Every single one of the receptionist are rude and you can tell they are there because it’s a job and they hate it. If you want to waste your money, your time. Get poor care and rude service then go here. Otherwise avoid at all costs.
Let me start by saying that I brought my dog in from The Bronx at the recommendation of a friend who has used Bay St for years. I took my dog in for an oral mass removal. We initially saw Dr. Cohen and he was very kind but was out of his element. He recommended his partner Dr. Cavallaro who saw my dog the same day at no additional cost. Dr. Cavallaro explained the risks and agreed to do the surgery. During the surgery, I received live text messages from Dr. Cohen with updates. I picked her up the following day and the vet tech was very thorough. The bill was less than the quote and my dog has recovered very nicely. The first vet that saw her recommended a specialists from Animal Medical Center in Manhattan. This is my second dog so I am familiar with their ridiculous pricing. I brought her to bay st because I was told they provide quality care at affordable prices. We are 2 months post op and my dog is doing great. Dr. Cavallaro is a gifted surgeon.
I went to Dr Leokowski a few months ago for a problem w my dogs eye. With an appointment I waited 2.5 hours to see someone w a 14 yr old lab. We did about 600 bucks worth of tests and she left me a long VERY technical voicemail w no diagnosis and words no highly educated person could even understand. And saying some tests needed to be done again. I asked for a call back for an easier explaination and never got one. I just brought my dog in who had a seizure today. Made an appointment for 920. I explained I had a highly nervous 14 yr old lab and last time she stayed there for 2.5 hours she couldn’t walk the next day of exhaustion. I went in , waited two hours and left without seeing anyone. They also tried to get me to pre commit to a 480 dollar test when I never even spoke w a doctor about my dogs issue. The over booking is a major problem and the non diagnosis for 600 is even worse. I’m not the type to leave reviews but this place is the worst.
The truly touching kindness that the doctors and staff at this location show is unparalleled. My daughter walked in with her heart broken and her beloved Scraps in hand. Despite Hoping for a better outcome he was so sick.. Our Kitty was old and broken but they tried everything and were so thorough and gentle. The honest and kind veterinarian spoke to us like family. He told us what a doctor would say and also what a father would say. They did not try to gouge us for more money, they did not attempt to fight a losing battle, and they did not overcharge us. They worked hard and in the end they held our beloved pet with us as we made the impossible choice to let him pass peacefully. From the front desk, to the phone, to the reception, to the billing, to the heart felt Veterinary techs and doctors There is no place I trust my pet with more than this office.
Last week, my husband and I had to make the awful decision to put our almost 14 year old pug to sleep after a short battle with an illness. At the time his regular vet wasn’t available and insisted that we take him to the hospital in Red Bank, NJ. This for us wasn’t an option as we felt they would have pushed us to prolong the inevitable. He was having trouble breathing and we just didn’t want him to suffer anymore. Bay St took us right in. They were so kind and caring, from the girls at the front desk to Dr. Cohen and the tech. Not only did they give our baby peace, but they gave us peace as well. I was so nervous that I wouldn’t be able to be with him during the procedure. I wore a mask and they gave me as much time as I needed to be with him. I can’t thank them enough. We will never forget them or the kindness that they have shown us. ❤️
My cat had a urinary blockage Dr. Ashley Aanonsen was the vet who worked on my cat and they wanted 3,191.00 to unblock my cat I couldn't afford it so I asked for him to be put to sleep because I couldn't see him in pain. This horrible woman told me she could unblock him for 600 dollars but he had to go home same day. This was pointless and my cat was obviously still blocked and she stole the 600 dollars I really couldn't afford. Now I have to put my cat down and it will cost me another 400 dollars I don't have. I called to speak to the manager Gabriela and she said we have to keep the lights on here too. So we can't do no favors. This place is evil and they only care about stealing money and giving false hope. Do not take your pets here. I love my cat and seeing him in pain is horrible. My cat just died as of 7 pm because of this place.
I had a great experience from the first phone call. I called in to make an appointment and I spoke with Josephine (i think her name was) she was very attentive and kind and answered all my questions. She also seemed genuinely concerned for my baby which made me feel good. She got me in right away! (I called at 5:00pm and was given an appointment for 7:00pm the same night) So I brought my baby in for a sick visit for the first time tonight and we saw dr. Lepkowski, she was very kind, imformative, and great with my fur baby. I was in the waiting room for about 20 minutes and the rest of the time was with the tech and the doctor in an exam room. We got some medicine to take home and hopefully my baby will feel better very soon. They also have GREAT and very convenient hours. Open early and close late. Would recommend them all for sure.
ZERO STARS!!!!!! Took my Pomeranian there last night (1/15/22) for an emergency visit as she had blood in her stool and vomit. They made me sign an estimate sheet on how much the visit would be. $85 for office visit. $160 for blood work. I end up walking out of there paying $450 with no medicines because of how expensive they were. They told me she had no fever when the nurse didn’t even check her for fever. And worst of alll they destroyed the fur on her butt. I use a special groomer to keep her fur round and silky. When I mentioned to girls of her damaged fur…they just sat there & couldn’t care less!!! Gross. Now her backside is completely destroyed!!!! NEVER AGAIN WILL I OR ANYONE I KNOW STEP FOOT IN THAT PLACE!!! Today I’m taking her to my regular vet for meds. I did learn something…..Richmond Valley Vets are amazing!!!!
I am so grateful for the doctors and staff at Bay Street Animal Hospital. My cat had a large lump on him. Our vet that we have been using told us that they were not equipped there to help him and said to try an oncologist. I was speaking with Cheryl about him, and she asked if we would like to see Dr. Cavallaro? When we went in, the doctor explained about what my cat had, the difficulties, possibilities and different things that could be done. She explained things very thoroughly. I felt like she knew her stuff and she wanted to try to help him. He's 7 years old, strong, lovable and family. Dr. Cavallaro did the surgery and they have been taking care of him. They are very kind. They said that he is so lovable. They have been wonderful with him and I am so thankful for all that the staff had done for us.
Having only been there once I'd say it's a busy practice with a competent and professional staff. Parking is also available. My issue is with the medication I purchased. This office charged me $435 for 2 boxes (12 month supply) 44.1 - 88.0 lb Simparica Trio. I blame myself for not asking for the prescription instead. The same drug is available at Chewy for $168 per box or $336 for 2 boxes, maybe even cheaper elsewhere. It's my fault for not shopping around, I believe that the Vet practice should not be over charging the same customers that are already paying for the veterinary care. It reminds me for a mechanic that repairs your car then clobbles you with a high price for the parts that they get at an even more discounted price. I truly wish this practice would change.
On the advice of a SI Facebook group I went to Bay Street Animal Hospital and my dog was seen by Dr. Cohen (no relation) Unfortunately my dog has a fast growing tumor and we discussed options. He said that at her age and the aggressiveness of the tumor he would not recommend putting her through surgeries and chemo, that may or may not work. He was amazingly kind and compassionate. Got me bottled water and cared for me as I was feeling lightheaded. I highly recommend this practice, especially if Dr C is working. **I went to a fancy competitor in NJ, just 2 weeks earlier, for the same issue. I spent 1k and never saw the vet once. She only called me by cellphone. Clinically that may not affect the care of the patients, but on a human level, owners need some care too.
Found ticks on my puppy head and the neck , called in and the girl said bring her in. While there they put a tight leash around her neck and took her in , girl comes some time later to ask where the ticks were and I already explained to her where exactly they are. Ok, told her again. She goes inside, comes out with my puppy to ask me to show where the ticks are again. Ok Then she start pulling my poor girl inside again and of cause she doesn’t want to go in again. Girl is start pulling so hard that my puppy eyes are got full of blood and she start suffocating. I got up fumed at that employee of the month , took my puppy and left. Never again I am coming in. NEVER AGAIN.
DO NOT bring your animal 2 this hospital in an emergency!! MY Olivia needed 2 be seen, AND, NEEDED AN APPOINTMENT!! Wanted 2 bring her in @ 6:15pm, only 8pm available. Had appt. next day morning, found my angel DEAD in the morning!! This place is only about appts! GOD SEES ALL, and, whomever did this w/APPOINTMENTS w/MY OLIVIA should SUFFER, how SHE SUFFERED!! Long time customer, too!! BTW, this is an animal hospital, w/24 hr care?! You should be able to bring your animal in ANY TIME! Have been SPREADING THE WORD TO EVERY SINGLE PERSON I KNOW WITH A PET, and, they are GRATEFUL for the information. HOPE your so-called" hospital goes OUT OF BUSINESS!!
We have used Bay Street for years and would not go anywhere else. The doctors and staff are the most warm, caring people. Each animal and person is treated as an individual, everything is explained, the equipment is state-of-the-art, help is available 24/7, and they have worked with us to keep care within our budget (not always an easy thing). Doctor Cavallaro is especially wonderful, but Doctor Cohen is excellent, too, and when circumstances have resulted in our seeing one of the other vets, they have been uniformly competent and kind. I recommend Bay Street whole-heartedly and without reserve. There are cheaper vets, but not better ones.
Wonderful Staff and Veterinarians. The younger female Dr is good for all-round Vet & Diagnosis. Dr. Cohen is the best with older Dogs. I love how he manages things with my Senior Dog, Buddy. Understanding that some tests, treatments may not be warranted due to their age, and doesnt make you feel bad if you don't run every test. He let's you know what he would recommend most and what can be skipped because old age is old age. There's not much you can do to stop them from getting old, just maintaining their quality of life as much as possible for as long as possible. Also love that they are 24/7 Facility, as this comes in VERY handy.
I rushed my lifeless cat Johnny to Bay Street Animal Hospital. The staff immediately attended to my cats needs. Dr. Cohen took all the necessary measures to support my cats body to sustain life. My cat remained at the hospital for 6 days. Dr. Cavallero and Dr. Cohen along with their amazing & caring staff SAVED my cats life. I am certain that if I had taken him anywhere else, I would NOT have brought my cat back home. Bay Street went above & beyond by administering the right treatment plan. I am forever grateful that I have my cat back home with me & doing great. This is the place to go for emergency & life threatening situations.
I received the best and most compassionate care for my dog Dexter and my cat Max. Starting with the front desk staff, to the technicians and every Doctor we have seen at this practice you are shown how each team member truly loves their job. My dog and cat were both administered X-rays and blood tests and we were called to go over the results and the course of treatment that followed the diagnosis. The hospital is exceptionally clean and all of the tests were performed on site. The fact that I was able to get an appointment the next day and that they are open weekends and late evenings makes scheduling an appointment stress free
I highly recommend that you DO NOT leave your dog at this establishment. I left my dog here for three days. When I picked him up, he had a chemical burn below his nose and lost 4 pounds because he was not fed. To make matters worse, the staff was not transparent about what happened. They gave me the run around and refused to show any documentation on how they cared for my dog. When I returned home, my pup began to bleed. Since I had no idea what happened, I had to return to them so they could care for him. Even then, they were still lacking transparency. This place is careless, unprofessional, and dishonest.
I’ve been bringing my dog here for over a year now and they are absolutely great! I’m not sure why they have so many bad reviews. Everyone has always been so nice to us, one of the receptionists gave my dog a small toy to play with while he was waiting to be seen and he loved it, she even let us keep it after. We have brought him here for regular office visits, bloodwork, ankle sprains, neuters, and vaccines and they are the BEST. They even trim my dogs nails for me, all you have to do is give them a call before you go to make sure they have availability for it! I cant say enough great things about them :-)
Best animal hospital I have ever been to. They did all they could to save my Yorkie Bella. She was very sick and they wouldn't stop till they knew exactly what was wrong with her. My Yorkie went blind front one eye and then both eyes. She didn't want to eat nothing. I thought that was it. But they didn't give up. On a Thursday I got a call that my Bella was eating and they think was able to see. I brought her home and they gave me meds to help her and as time went by she was able to see from both eyes. She is truly a miracle. Thank u Bay street animal hospital and staff. Best doctors and techs ever.
For many years, and for many pets, we have been customers at Bay St. Animal Hospital. The most skilled, professional and compassionate doctors and support staff are here, at any time of day or night. The team at Bay St. works together to provide your pets with the best care, and is always available to answer questions or give explanations. Clean and well appointed office, flexible appointment times and free parking are some of the other advantages of Bay St. Animal Hospital. And they also have grooming services and overnight boarding, both of which we have used over the years. A great facility!
i would give this place no stars if i could. Such a horrible doctor. my dog oso had a tumor around his rectum. We would take him for check ups and tests every 6 months and they never detected it until we told them about it! All those expensive appointments and tests were BS! A tumor doesn't grow overnight! unfortunately by then, the tumor was too big to fix. it got so bad to the point to where he couldn't walk up & down the stairs and could barely walk. We had no choice but to put him down. please don't bring your pet here, I would hate for someone to have the same horrible experience!
Took my cat there today for his first checkup and they were so wonderful with him! The vet tech handled him beautifully (which is no easy feat because my cat is VERY large in stature) and the doctor was so good with him. She explained everything and showed me how to administer his eye medication easily. The receptionist was very sweet and accommodating. I am so pleased with how well everything was handled and will definitely make this my permanent vet clinic for my boy. Thank you Dr. Cavallaro and the vet tech(I wish I got your name!) for being so great with my Gomez!
Luv the experience every time I come here. Dr. Cohen is always knowledgeable when it comes to your pets. Staff is so kind and respectful to all guests. One thing that was a little disappointing was how the front desk manager was talking to other employees. She seemed a little harsh talking with a lot of attitude with an older lady that was answering calls. I find that a bit disrespectful and to do that in front of customers that is definitely not professional or kind. Other then that I would highly recommend this place for the care and services.
We have been going to Bay Street Animal Hospital for many years.Every single cat that we have owned for almost16 years including every stray that we brought into them have been treated with love and affection. Most recently our cats have been seen by Dr.Justine Candrilli. She is wonderful!!❤We love her and Dr.Cavallaro who also treats our cats...All 4 of them.!❤We love the staff big shout out to all of them..Especially Cheryl , and the newbie Victoria who helped us today.Love them all...Thank you for helping us and loving our pets❤
I spent close to $1000 on blood and allergy tests for my cat and I have been unable to get in contact with the vet for more than two months. I begged for the doctor to send an email at least going over the test results and to tell me what the next steps are and didn’t even receive that. They always tell me someone will call and a week will go by and no one will reach out and then I call again and get the same treatment. I will make sure to let everyone know about the horrible treatment we have received, definitely not going back there.
I have been coming here for years and the prices have gotten to be so unreasonable. They have expanded and their rates have skyrocketed. 80 dollars just to walk in the door. Everytime I walk out with a bill over 400 dollars. And then they tell you you need a recheck and charge you 60 to walk back in the door and find more things to charge you for. And then have the nerve to say they trimmed her nails no charge. Really? There are plenty of good vets on S.I. Do yourself a favor...stay clear of this money making factory.
We have been going to Bay St. Animal Hospital for over 13 years. We have a Dachshund named Rummy who has been there for medical reasons as well as boarding. Everyone is so friendly and always greets Rummy with a big smile when he shows up. They go out of their way to ensure that Rummy is taken care of when we are boarding him. When we’re their for medical issues, we always have the information we need before leaving to ensure he gets a speedy recovery. I would highly recommend Bay St. Animal Hospital for their pet.
Dr. Cavallaro is by far the best vet I have ever had the privilege to see. She is thorough in her examination of the animals - moving beyond the particular complaint that brought us there. When she is unsure of a proper dose for a small or large animal - she looks it up and writes it down so we don't over or under treat a pet. Every time we see her I ask lots of questions and she answers them all - very patient and informative. If I could find a primary physician for myself who is this thorough, I'd be thrilled.
The staff at Bay Street Animal Hospital are amazing! From the Drs, Techs and receptionists! My furbaby has been a patient of theirs for 4years and 2nights ago he was excessively throwing up. I took him in as emergency and was seen promptly. He was admitted, diagnosed and treated for pancreatitis. I went back and forth to be with him and the love they showed my Niko was exceptional!! The care he received while being treated was amazing. I can't thank them enough for being such amazing people. Cat Staiti
Ive been to this practice 2 times now, and both times Bay St Animal Hospital has taken great care of my cat! One time for a cheek infection from a bite, they cleaned her up good and gave her medication and advise me on what spray to buy to sterilize the wound. It healed perfectly. Another time I brought her in for loss of appetite and they examined her thoroughly and agreed it was her gums/teeth giving her problems. They gave her a steroid injection and my cat felt better almost instantly. Go here!!!
Trashy service from front desk. One day I came in to pay and was a $60 short. They let me go home, drop my pet off and pick up some money. I came back an hour later and paid my bill. Fast forward a few years later, I send my wife for our pets. We were short $60 and they wouldn't let her leave. She hadn't even left the examination room when they were already pressing her about the money. They were very hostile towards her. It hadn't even been 30 minutes by the time she settled the bill.
just wanted to follow up. initially I had a bad experience but after being contacted by the hospital and explaining to them what my pet and I experienced on the initial visit we were told it would never happen again and received money off of our next visit. this was the one and only bad experience we had and it was fixed immediately. we will continue to use bay street animal hospital as the place to bring our dog. very friendly staff and very quick to fix the initial problem we had
So today June 14 of 2019 my little Pom was refused service from patty the front desk for anal gland expression. I did not have the paper work on hand to show his immunization history and Patty did not want to call his primary Vet to get the paperwork to prove his is up to date in shots. So my little Pom was suffering and Patty was smiling say if you had the paperwork it’s free. Patty you your a low human being. Good luck bay street animal clinic, I will never step foot there again.
At 11PM last night my cat had an emergency. Even though I was not formerly a client of Bay Street Animal Hospital, they were the only ones open so late. After speaking to a very kind receptionist, they allowed me to bring my cat in. Even though it was so late by the time I arrived, they did not rush us at all. Dr. Lepkowski was able to handle the situation immediately, and truly went above and beyond. I would not hesitate to bring my pet there again, and highly recommend them to
Dr Parker and Vet Tech Johnny have been nothing but amazing to my Foster and I. My Foster dog Martha needed some medical attention before she can become adopted and they have been so warm and gentle and giving towards her I cannot thank them enough. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful and the facility is clean, updated and very well ran. Thank you Bay Street Animal Hospital for all of your hospitality and work with Doreen at For Blake’s Sake Animal Rescue.
Thank you very much to all the staff!!! Especially now, working at such hectic times! My beloved cat was extremely ill, he passed away, but nevertheless, I still feel enormous gratitude to Dr. Theresa Cavallaro and her assistants, all receptionists, and to all those who I didn’t have a chance to see or to talk to for professionalism, compassion, love to our little members of family, and great respect to the pet owners! Be Blessed! Be safe!!! Nataliya Ivanova
The staff at the Bay Street Animal Hospital has been outstanding. We recently transferred treatment of our dog and our cat there as they had chronic problems which others had difficulty getting a handle on. Dr. Lepkowski diagnosed our pets' problems accurately and treatment thus far has been excellent. All of our calls and concerns have been addressed. The front office and tech staff is responsive and all messages are communicated. And the price is right.
Bay Street Animal Hospital is the best vet on Staten Island. We have been taking Buddy there for 13 years. Dr. Cavalaro and Dr. Cohen are amazing, as well as all of the other doctors in the office. The staff is amazing as well. No matter who you are in contact with in the office you can rest assure they have your pets (and your) best interest in mind when taking of them. You aren't just patients, you are family. We love Bay Street Animal Hospital.
From booking to the actual appointment went great! One of the techs Johnny was so helpful and understanding. Our dog gets extremely nervous and anxious at the vet, and he did all he could and more to make her comfortable. Dr Aanonsen also is wonderful! She makes you extremely comfortable, and is very thorough, she knows how to handle your pets well, and makes sure all your questions are answered. Thanks to you guys for treating us so well!
I'm so happy to have found Bay Street Animal Hospital. I have two cats who had not been to the vet for years. One is a particularly fractious cat when it comes to vet visits and, over the past ten years, no other vets could (or wanted) to handle her. Doctors at Bay Street did, and did it well. Both were treated for ailments that became acute within a one week period and now they are thriving. Kind and caring vets and doctors. Thank you.
I have taken my beloved Lucky for cremation back in February 2015 and paid $261.00 with ashes returned in a cherry wood box. 5 weeks later I dropped by to find out if the ashes came back and they told me that my baby had been cremated in a group and no ashes are returned with that service. I was devastated when they told me that so I requested to have my money refunded, which they did. I will not take any living animal there.
We've been with these doctors for over 20 years. Every level of service is excellent at Bay Street Animal Hospital. There's a relationship that builds, unmatched at other practices while professionalism is maintained. They'll never force something "just because" and tailored treatments for our "very sensitive" and highly allergic pup from DAY ONE. It's a joy to be a part of the Bay Street Animal Hospital "Family."
This place is a disgrace. They are rude, unprofessional, unsympathetic and it’s all the staff. From doctors to the absolute most unprofessional front desk staff I have ever come across in any business. Do yourself a favor if you care about your animal go somewhere else where you can be treated with dignity and respect. The front desk staff couldn’t care any less about you or your pet.
Professional, friendly staff, the facility is always fresh and clean. I've been a client thru several dogs over 15+ years. Dr Cavallaro is a highly skilled surgeon and has always been kind and caring with an understanding for the individual animals needs and the clients desires. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone having a pet in need of veterinarian.
Wonderful! The entire staff works together to make you and your pet's experience as stress free as possible. The receptionists work hard to provide the answers and medications prescribed by the doctors. The technicians provide skilled care to your pets. The doctors are amazing and their knowledge and skill can not be matched by any other facility on the island.
I took my dog for a scheduled appointment first visit they said the vet had a emergency surgery my dog was not seeing at all very unprofessional and rude don’t care about your pet never will go back there again thankfully we found a very caring. Animal hospital it call animal health group on 2300 hyland Blv way better than this place and more caring vet
This is the ONLY animal hospital I trust to treat my pets! I drive over a half hour just to bring my pets here because I appreciate the quality of care they provide. Dr Lepkowski and the staff are always very friendly, caring, knowledgeable, and sincere. You can tell they really love animals and try their hardest to make sure they receive proper care.
The stuff are lying to you. When you bring your pet, first they explain you differently but When you checking out the prices are changes. They charge you more. They are giving you different information. They charged me 85$ without informing me. The examination of my pet costs 85$ which doctor did not examine properly. I do not recommend to go there.
Would occasionally visit for my cat and loved it. Then I just recently adopted a puppy and they have been more than helpful on making sure my lil guy is healthy. Not the pushy kind of place that wants you to buy the stuff they get commision on. Great friendly staff and wonderful appointment system so there is no waiting around. Thank you guys!
The staff and the doctor at that place are thief I walked in Sunday with my cat who has an ear infection, they told me it will cost $250 for everything at the end they end up charging me $500 than I bought him to change the bandage and they want charge me another $175 what a thief are they I will never go back there anymore you you should too
I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Cohen! He diagnosed my Bruno and treated him properly when other vets have failed him. Thank you for helping our pup who is now home with us! Your patience, expertise and kindness does not go unnoticed! And thank you to all of the staff at Bay Street Animal Hospital who have helped along the way :)
- I had to wait almost an hour after appointment time - Veterinarian did not make even basic exam they charged me for - I had to push veterinarian to listen me and say what is wrong with my dog - They charged for 4 pills but put in the box only 2. The experience could be much worse but I will try to find place better than this hospital.
Do yourself the favor .. if you can avoid coming here. DO IT . “Doctor” Theresa Cavallaro really is by far the most unprofessional individual I have come across. She really exemplifies what you don’t want in an individual that is in the care of someone else. Just avoid coming here if you do, make sure you do not get Theresa Cavallaro.
As always, the staff and doctors at BSAH are calming, they listen, are helpful, and willing to share their knowledge and thoughts on my dog's issues. Dr. Candrilli went above and beyond in her care of my (older) dog, and put a plan in place to ease future pain and discomfort. I highly recommend Bay Street Animal Hospital, as usual!
This is my go to place for all my pet needs! Not only do they have hands on doctors ready to help at virtually any time, but the nursing staff is always accommodating and welcoming. Plus my cousin Heather works there and helps with information on upcoming checkups and meds. Also, they take CareCredit! Great hospital, hands down!
My Columbo is going on 16 and the only reason he is still with us is because of the care, love and skill that Dr Cavallaro and the entire Bay Street Animal Hospital staff uses every day to help the animals in their care. I don't have the time or space to list each, but please know that Maryann and I appreciate all that you do.
Dr. Lepkowski saved my beloved dog, Karma, when she was diagnosed with IMHA. She answered every question i had, even the crazy ones and never hesitated to consult with other Veterinarians about Karma's condition and treatment. The prognosis for IMHA is not a good one, but my dog is still alive and thriving thanks to BSAH!!!!
I have only good things to say, from receptionists to the Drs, very professional knowledgeable people who didnt try to beat me over the head with unnecessary tests and blood work. Asking me if I had any questions and taking the time to answer them all. My cats will be patients here for a very long time. Very affordable also!
Dr Aanonsen is a wonderful vet. She is caring, knowledgeable, empathetic and kind. She has taken care of all our Greyhounds,, in good times and bad,,, stayed with us when our fur babies crossed the rainbow bridge and mourned along with us. She absolutely loves all animals and taking care of them. We trust her implicitly.
We have been bringing our Labs here for more than 20 years. The staff is friendly and extremely competent. The hospital and boarding areas are clean and bright. The veterinarians are well trained, informative, and personable. I highly recommend Bay Street Animal Hospital for all your per needs.
Even though I needed to say goodbye to my 14 years old cat Suri , this hospital is a really good one.All the doctors and staffs I came across with very nice and compassionate people! I would give them 10 stars if I could ! They gained a customer for life ! Thank you Dr.Cavallaro , Dr.Cohen !
The staff here is very grounded and great. They're easy to talk to, very happy and helpful, and they're always willing to take a call and give advice. We had to visit the doctors a couple times and they've always been fantastic and extremely knowledgeable. I can't recommend them enough!
Been going here for past 7-8 years, they were excellent and very compassionate with my previous dog, which made me trust them when we got a new puppy and i can not complain. Dr, Gordon is excellent. scheduled appointment always happen on time, they call you back with all the results.
don’t go here. don’t give them any business or money. they claim to be a 24 hour service but when we call the night my dog is dying they don’t answer until the tenth time. if i could give zero stars, i would. there are plenty of vets on staten island don’t choose this one
The one receptionist Sh.... is very rude and not professional, all rest of the staff a professional and nice. This is not my first contact with her she is a manager on this office. I spoke to the owner told him about my experience but she still on the front deck.
My cat had a dental problem, it was growth removal and 10 teeth extraction and biopsy.. all stuff in the hospital is amazing, Dr Malgorzata Banaszek Lepkowski is the best!! She did surgery at. 11 p.m. and she called us few minutes after she did it. Amazing! !
They actually care about the animals here and go out of their way to give them the best care. I am beyond grateful for everything they do and this is literally the only place I’d ever feel comfortable bringing my pets. These are people who LOVE animals!
BSAH is an Island Oasis. They have a highly professional and a compassionate team who care for the animals as if they were their very own. Staten Island's animals are "lucky dogs," and cats. :) Highly recommend the Bay Street Animal Hospital.
I would like to thank Dr.Ashley & Dr.Theresa and the amazing team here for saving my dog cannon's life. He went into an emergency surgery due to swallowing an object that we did not know about at the time, they did x-rays and blood work to
Too expensive and unfriendly staff our dog did not feel well and we brought him there and the doctor put Fluid in his arm she made some type of blood work and we paid $445 in half an hour and the doctor sent our dog home and told to us to
They truly care about your pet. We got great same-day service and were acknowledged with some concerns we had for our pup and are working to help us help him (instead of being brushed off from other vets in the area). Highly recommend!!
I took my beautiful cat Rascal who ended up being diagnosed with kidney cancer :(. Dr Lepkowski helped me through this difficult time, there was nothing that could be done for my beloved Rascal but it's the fact that she showed me her
I was a patient of Dr Cohens for years, currently found injured stray and am willing to pay expenses but asked if they could offer a discount ... they outright refused ... What happened to humane ... caring ... vets... I was a paying
Dr Anenson and the vet techs and girls up front were absolutely amazing. The situation was horrible for us but they made it more pleasant for us. So sweet and comforting. I Will absolutely go here from now on because of them. Tysm
We brought out Xolo to get staples on one of her paws and she was treated very well and in a timely manner. The staff were gentle and caring, especially Dr. Aanonsen. We are very satisfied by the quality service that we received.
Received phenomenal care from this practice. I had tons of questions and the nice tall blond was very accommodating and understanding. Her sweet and caring demeanor has helped me feel better about the care my baby needed !!!
Cheryl and the Staff at Bay Street Animal Hospital are always so helpful and amazing!! Cheryl goes above and beyond to make sure your pet has the best care. They truly care about your pet. I highly recommend them.
The office Manager is straight out rude, the Veterinarian I saw ran all tests and x-rays and still can’t come to a conclusion. Hence I have to see another vet, for a second opinion after I spent a $1000 not happy.
I just want to thank Dr.Cohen for the wonderful job he did with my Lola, his diagnosis was on point and the medication he prescribed my Lola is feeling much better,Thank you so much for giving back my little girl.
