I brought my dog in for a dental cleaning at the recommendation of the vet. I’ve been bringing my dog there since a pup for about 7 years. During every exam, I was told my dog was in great shape and the dental cleanings can be pushed off until he’s older. At 7.5 years old, I took my dog in during November for the dental monthly special and within 45 minutes of dropping him off, the vet calls and tells me that my dog needs 15 tooth extractions. Not only was I extremely concerned but upset that all this time, I thought I was taking excellent care of my dog’s teeth only to be informed 1/3 of his teeth have to be removed. The procedure went from $550 to $1200. I requested the X-rays and any documentation from the procedure for my records but it’s been 2 weeks and the office staff have me in a holding pattern by saying the dental technicians have to send that file. Every time I call, the office person tells me that “there was no previous note” on file. I’ll happily share my Verizon phone logs to show how many times I called. Side note: scheduling and wait times are ridiculous, prepare to standby 30-70 minutes before your actual appointment. I understand we’re dealing with pets and sometimes things take longer than expected but it’s 2021… Find more staff or a better office management system to track and schedule appointments. At a minimum, provide an update of appointments that will be delayed so folks aren’t waiting forever with scared pets in the office. Find a different vet if you really care about your pets. I went to Juniper Valley’s vet clinic and they’re 1000% better

ZERO STARS. After bringing my pet here for almost 8 years I'm totally disappointed in this clinic. After just spending several hundred dollars in the last 3 months for teeth cleaning and tests. I had my dog groomed on Tuesday the next day he was shaking his head and scratching at his ear. I immediately looked at his ear and searched what the cause could be. All the symptoms of an ear infection. I placed some drops from petco and he seemed to be fine. I caught a flight out of the country but notified my dog sitter. The next day my dogs ear seemed worse. This is why I called HBVS. The receptionist said the Dr would call me back and she verified my cell number. I find out later the doctor called my house number. I called and explained to the doctor the situation. Not concerned sounds like he needs antibiotics. Then I was placed on hold to make an appointment, earliest is May 11th. So I have to wait 10 days with my pet in pain to get treatment. This is totally unacceptable and this is the last straw with this place. In the last years Dr Weinstein has not been there they are going down the tubes. They are money hungry and don't care about anything else. I will be taking my business elsewhere PLEASE OWNER CALL ME TO DISCUSS!!!!!!! TRIED TO TALK WITH YOU!!!!

EDIT: I have left their service over 4 years ago, yet some how, for a pet that died in their care, they are still emailing me about for appointments….was his life that small you forgot he died in your facility? I have been going here with my family and all of my pets for 15 years. And as this business changed hands, the care has declined. You deserve to be treated better. I was yelled at and hung up on by Francis, due to me interrupting her and calling her miss, instead of doctor. When I called back she said she'd do it again. I called at 6:30 to ask to have my dog seen for a wound, she was just discharged, they told me no they were closing. I said no you close at 8, Francis said oh I'm sorry, and corrected herself. First don't lie to your clients, secondly it's disrespectful to hang up on clients because you want the last word, and third it's about the life and concern of the animal, not your pride. I have had hour long wait times, staff talking about pot while I wait, rude doctors. And despite that I stayed because of family and how long I've been here. And the owner assured me I'd get a call back and never have. This is a terrible place. Don't subject your pet or yourself to this.

To be honest, I'm not sure if its the clinic or just the reception but they don't seem to care. On my initial appointment day, at the time of my appointment I was still standing outside in the cold as they have curbside appointments. 40 minutes later, still standing in the cold with my pet. They eventually take the pet in and say he's perfect. Days later I try to make an appointment for him because he wasn't well and couldn't get one. I called numerous times and each time she said just keep calling back to see if someone cancels. Clearly she could have taken my number and called me if someone canceled. Either way, I did keep calling back and she kept telling me the same thing. What bothered me most is that never one time did she ask what was wrong with the animal. I eventually went to a clinic in ozone Park and found the cat had an upper respiratory infection and conjunctivitis.

1 star is way too much to be giving to this money hungry, money driven, non compassionate waste of land. I go there and none of the staff seems to really care. Then I get charged 4000 upfront after they take X-rays of my dog telling me he needs “emergency surgery”. What?! These “vets” have no idea what they’re doing. I could go on but the best past was when I asked the doctor “so I have to pay 2000 up front right now or my dog dies is what you’re telling me?” And all she gave me was a look and said “I mean I can try and treat his symptoms but yeah” DO NOT EVER TAKE YOUR PET HERE EVER! (EDIT: To add onto the rest if you think I’m buggin, I went to the animal medical center in Manhattan right on 62nd and York ave and I got a second opinion. The doctors told me he does NOT need any surgery and that he is NOT obstructed. THEY WOULDVE CUT HIM OPEN FOR NO REASON! SMH worst vet ever.)

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. I came all the way from Long Island with an appointment and still had to wait 3 hours to be seen. This is INFURIATING especially because they didn’t give me a time estimate. The staff was VERY rude and annoying. I was really irritated. I made the appointment for both my pets to get spayed and to get flea treated and both had to get emergency surgery, after the surgery they were throwing up and had gotten sick. After getting the flea treatment my pets had gotten skin rashes and irritation, my cats fur started to come off in patches and flakes. I had to sit the car with with my sick kitten and puppy. When I asked about pricing they gave me a definitive answer but after the procedure they raised it up to 5gs, it is unacceptable DONT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!!!!!

This is my 3rd pet I brought here. I have been with this vet for many years. They are friendly and knowledgeable and have a love for animals. The vet recently changed ownership. It is now owned by Dr. Rafael, who seems to have brought a lightness to the air. He is very kind and sincere. If your pet has a serious illness he will handle the case. He definitely helped me prolong my dog Ginger's life. When I brought her there she was in shock and dying. They diagnosed her with heart failure and took care of her and she did not die that day. They let me have more time with my precious fur baby. And for this I am thankful. They are also convenient with the covid restrictions, just pull up let them know you are there and they will come out and get your pet.

For dog moms there are very few (if any) people we rely on more than our vet. As my senior dog ages, I rely even more on Dr Davis and Howard Beach Animal Clinic. If I could give 100 stars I would. I cannot say enough positive things. The staff is kind and responsive and helpful and genuinely caring. The hours of the clinic make driving there from the UWS convenient and easy to schedule appts. Dr Davis is one of the most treasured human beings we know. She is so sincere and patient and truly goes above and beyond to care for my dog. I would not drive to Queens if not for her and the staff. I feel confident and safe that my dog is in capable and intelligent hands and they have his true best interest with every visit.

Dr. Davis is the WORST vet ever. I do not suggest bringing your pet to her. My cat was terminally ill and she disregarded it with IBD medications. I watched him deteriorate over the course of a few months with little understanding of what was happening. I took him for a visit frequently hoping for some more information on what was for sure going on with him. She would disregard us after almost every appointment without telling us how it went or what occurred, just telling us to call back another day. It was not confirmed that he had cancer until the day before he died. This vet, specifically, only cared about money. If you love your fur baby, take them elsewhere or have them see another vet at this clinic.

Simply put , they’re wonderful. I’ve been with them over 8 years. Never had a bad experience. They treat my dog with the most sincere care. They’re very honest with me and i feel completely trusting and comfortable with the office staff, and Dr Roufail is an absolute gem!!. Nowadays everyone is so short tempered, and they’re so quick to post negative reviews. I found that communication is key and courtesy goes both ways. I respect them and they respect me. They’re great at what they do and i won’t go anywhere else. Number one priority is how they treat my dog . And they’re A+ in how they take care of my baby! Their prices are fair and they will work with you whenever possible. Super satisfied!

I brought my new Pomeranian puppy there today for her first vaccines and check up. I mixed up the date of my appt so instead of sending me home they let me have a same day appt for a small charge. I was grateful for the option considering it was my error. I honestly waited no more than 5-10 mins and was seen. Dr. Tracy was kind and efficient. She answered all my questions and handled my puppy so gently. She had a tech assisting her that was also very gentle with Sadie. The prices are so reasonable and transparent. I’m very happy with how accommodating they were despite being very busy today. Also the office looked and smelled clean!

Some of the girls that work there can give an attitude, not all but I’ve experienced it yesterday with one girl. And also I feel by now we should be able to come in with our pets. Every where else u are allowed in. Why not here. I understand the waiting outside but when it’s ur pets turn we should be allowed in. As I was there yesterday we noticed the mail man was allowed in and he did not have a mask on nor did the 2 girls that congregated with him. I noticed it and so did others waiting outside. I really feel it’s time to find a new veterinarian. My puppy has an issue but as soon as she is done we will go elsewhere

Instead of being honest with there clients about there sick pet , they lead u on knowing the dog is terminal jus to make money off the pets owner. My dog had 10 seizures in one day. I went to vet to have her put to sleep cause the seizures changed her. But the vet some how convinced us she was ok and to give her seizure medication. 2000$ later after medication and vet visits and I still had to put her to sleep yesterday. Crossbay veterinary are not honest they'll take every last cent knowing your pet is dying and will try make u change your mind about putting your pet to sleep knowing the pet is terminal

I truly don't know what I would without Dr. Ashley Davis. She has an unbelievable empathy that is not seen in most veterinarians so you really feel that your animals are cared for. She's also an excellent diagnostician; always making the extra effort to go beyond a text book diagnosis and find out what is really wrong with your pet. My 17 year old dog would not have made it through his senior years without her and the compassion of Howard Beach. If I could give this practice more stars, I would. If you're looking for a place that doesn't see just money signs, Howard Beach is that practice.

I been waiting to be part of the Howard beach family for a long time now, I told in the beginning of Covid there was a waiting list for new patients but it was worth it. Being a mom of both a shih tzu and frenchie puppies under 6 months is a lot of work. This clinic is so responsive and reliable and so far my wellness checks have been in and out, prices are great too. being a pet owner for over 20 years by far this is the best clinic I have went too and I will never go back to anyone else.Thank you for taking such great care of my babies

Took a friend to pick up medicine for the cats. It took them 1 1/2 hours to get that accomplished. She says the doctors are great but from my point of view, I wouldn't being my cats if it takes almost 2 hours just to get 2 medications that she called ahead before. I can understand you were busy (there were alot of pet parents outside but still medication, should only take 2-3 minutes to get together. Someone couldn't take 3 minutes and get us going on our way. You're failure to do something so simple will keep me from being a new client.

I had to update from 5 star to 1 star. Horrible service at the front desk. Rude, obnoxious and despicable . How can human being behave in that manner? She was rude to the customer before me then she told me off for no reason. Avoid this place like you would avoid the plague and spend your money where you are treated with respect. The doctors are good. However, you cannot bypass the rude manager/secretary who’s ready to kill your 4 legged family. She has access to every pet so I wouldn’t trust leaving my beloved furry baby there.

Howard Beach Animal Clinic, Dr. Rafoul, Dr. Davis, the entire staff are Simply the best. Five stars are not enough I give them ten stars. They really love what they do. An asset to the community and affordable. I am a Customer for 18 years. Recently, I had an emergency my dog Buster almost died. Buster is a 5 year old toy Chipin. He is sweet, intelligent, beautiful personality. I rushed him there and they saved his life. Dr. Davis and staff worked on Buster and he survived. Thank you, Dr Davis and staff. . The veterinary's office is amazing and a special shout-out to the entire veterinary team especially dr. Davis who helped me through everything when I first arrived there I had already been told by several vet offices that they could not see me today this was the only office that told me to bring my dog in because she instinctively knew what was wrong from there she helped me get through the process explained what was happening to my little girl. And made sure that my dog was better !! I m forever in their dept and Thank you ❣️

Iam grateful to have taken my cat Sherra to HBV to have her done there, Sherra had a successful surgery and I like that everything was explained to me pre/post and also they let know the prices and the Dr.'s,technicians,staff and receptionist were all friendly and professional and also I called the after hours Dr.and they answered right away and thank you Dr. Tracey and Dr. Rodriguez who preformed the surgery for Sherra and Yes I would definitely recommend HBV to others who my be looking for a vet to take care of their pets

I’ve been here multiple times for my animals. I work in patient care so I am very much aware of the office work flow. With Every appointment I’ve had, I am never seen on time. I’ve unfortunately waited over an hour for my appointment to be told “someone else is ahead of you”. The scheduling is poorly done. I lead a busy life where my day off is to care for various appointments. I don’t appreciate the lack of consideration with others time. I hope it handles better. Until then, I will not be coming back.

Amazing service at Howard Beach Animal Clinic! My dog had a bad accident and my friend rushed him to Howard Beach because that was his vet for his dog. The vets tended to him within 5 minutes of arrival and they have taken such great care of Sir Blue throughout the healing journey. Dr Davis and Dr Raphael are both attentive, to the animals and their worried parents. The staff is courteous, professional and welcoming on every one of our visits. I would definitely refer this place to an animal owner!

Have had pets all my life and experienced many vets (of all kinds and qualities– and I empathize that it isn’t an easy profession). There are indeed lots of great vets out there but this was the best vet care experience I’ve ever had (and during a particularly stressful time for me). And the support staff is also awesome! Thank you Dr. Davis and team for looking after my little old lady pooch with such personalized thoughtfulness, even while you were so busy :)

Very informative and professional. The doctors do not try to rush you out to get to the next client, they answer all questions thoroughly. If you just got a pup or even an older dog, go here and they will guide you through everything you need to know. Also, the waiting room can get packed, but I have always been out of there within 45 minutes of arriving. Every client there is super nice and will socialize during the wait, which is a major plus.

I’ve been taking Bruno to Howard Beach Animal Clinic for a couple of years. Appointments are easily attainable and the waiting area is clean. If you prefer to wait outside you can let the front desk know with a phone call. The vet calls you which minimizes wait time. As with any business ask for pricing prior to having your pet undergo any test. My bulldog has a thyroid disorder and while his meds are $7, full labs come out to $308.

Brought our kitten there when she became suddenly sick. Dr. Davis and Shannon were amazing. Dr. Davis was so kind and explained everything to us over the phone. She was very thorough and made sure that our kitten was coming home feeling better. Shannon was great with our kitten, who isn’t used to new people and can be a little aggressive. Shannon trimmed her nails and made her comfortable while she was being examined.

Hands down the best veterinary service. The most kind and compassionate veterinary service in which my dog is actually not scared to go to. They give you the best service and options available to keep your little one running healthy and strong. I've had some complications with my baby a few years back and they helped me hand in hand to have him happy and healthy again at 15 years old! I can't thank them enough ❤️

Clean place, nice and helpful. They had care for my cats from kidney disease, heart disease, teeth problems.. At times I had emergencys, and was seen right away. All the doctors are great. Sometimes the wait to see a doctor is a very long. Too long for the animals. When calling I understand sometime it a wait, but when they say we will call you back. It not happening. They need not to overbook the appointment.

My dog has been treated so well at this establishment. Dr. Rafael and Dr. Rodriguez are wonderful blessings.! My dog suddenly had a serious illness. It was very scary, but they immediately started her on medication. Then began testing. They took such good care of my baby. In 2 months they brought her back! I am so grateful beyond words. I wouldn’t bring my dog anywhere else. They are lovely and caring ! ❤️❤️❤️

Have been bringing my dog here for a 2 years and recent experience was just too much. The staff is rude. Doctor that was supposed to take me in was trying to overcharge me. They messed my appointments several times and finally gave me last appointment that I was late under 10 min but they wanted to charge me more for that reason. I just can’t believe how rude and unprofessional and greedy they have become.

We Make the Long Drive Over and Over Again From Connecticut Because We Feel That They Are the Best Veterinary and They Take Such Good Care of Our Pets . They Use Both Modern Medicine and Will Take an Holistic Approach as Well. We have Five English Bulldogs , One With Special Needs. I Would Never Want to Take My Pets Anywhere Else!

Please do not go here for procedures; they charge a ridiculous amount of money. For example, I got an X-ray for my pet and a couple of shots; it was $525, and the doctor told me to get an x-ray, and after the results came in, they told me that they didn’t even know what was inside my pets stomach what was the X-ray for then? What a waste of money. Don’t go here for procedures find a cheaper one.

Dr Roufail and his staff was amazing. They were able to fit me in as an emergency due to our situation. He was attentive to Drama's needs and she responded to him with no issues. We were lucky to have him care for her! Wouldnt ask for any other Vet! Thank you all for being so great during this insane time. Drama is doing well and I can rest easy knowing she has a fantastic team behind her!

I have been taking my dog and cats for 5 years. The front desk staff is very nice, very efficient. The vets and vet techs are kind very knowledgeable. Treat all my animals wonderful. I have boarded both my cats and my dog numerous times and they have great accommodations good food. My dog has walks playtime and always a bath coming home smelling fresh! The prices are very reasonable

Howard Beach Animal Clinic is the best clinic I have ever been to. The veterinarians are all extremely knowledgeable and so kind also. The facility is very clean. When you bring your pet there, you know you are in good hands. The staff love animals and it shows. A big plus also is that they are very fair with their prices, leaving you and your pet feeling very satisfied.

I had been going to HBAC for over 25 years. Dr. Weinstein has taken care of 3 of my Labrador Retrievers. The staff and doctors @ HBAC are always there for their clients. They are committed professionals who care about every patient. The doctor's expertise in diagnostic issues are rivaled by none. I will be a client of theirs forever. Thank you doctors and staff .

I have three fur babies and each one has received the best care. The vets are all professionals and show the utmost care for our babies. They also have patience with us parents. Dr. Roufael is amazing and will help your animals. Front desk service very unprofessional, unorganized, raising their voice and speaking in a frustrating manner. They make you feel it is not worth it to come up. The only reason I continue coming is because Dr. Roufael makes things straight when he finds out these non sense and how they treat customers.

I have been coming here for over 30 years.Everyone at HB Animal Clinic has been wonderful to my pets. One of my dogs had a surgical procedure and from the doctors to the assistants and office manager they were all kind and gentle. Dr. Rafuil and his staff of doctors were both attentive to my dogs' needs and answered any questions I had. Bravo!!

Came for a check up on my two month old Maltipoo. She wasn’t eating and kept throwing up. They took great care of her, ran tests, and got her to eat her food. Now she has a great appetite and she’s keeping all her food down. The vet explained everything to me clearly over the phone. Great customer service and friendly staff! Will continue to go

I cannot thank enough the doctor from Howard Beach Animal Clinic. I came to the clinic for a second opinion because the other vet wanted to perform a surgery on my cat (they told me she need biopsy and her teeth need to be removed). It turned out my baby was misdiagnosed and didn’t need a surgery or any treatment at all.

Best vet I've ever met in 11 years of being a dog owner. explained everything very thoroughly. took his time. The tech was great too. She told me about a movie about a dog with Addison's disease just like my dog (Dog Gone on Netflix) which I promptly went home and watched. Love this office. I'll be back every 28 days !

I have been bringing my pets to the Howard Beach Animal Clinic since 1990. In all that time I have never had a bad experience. The staff is very knowledgeable and professional. During difficult times they were very compassionate and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend their clinic to my family and friends.

This veterinarian practice is very patient oriented (a beautiful change from what I experienced at another vet regarding my cat during an emergency situation). The staff is so friendly & they were able to get my cat Leo in for an emergency visit. He is going to be there for 3 days & I know he is in good hands.

Great animal clinic. I feel like they take all of my concerns very seriously. They are a bit on the pricier side but the service and care match the money that you have to dish out. I just wish that they had additional payment plans for people with bad credit or an in office payment plan.

I've been taking my furbabies to Howard Beach Animal Vet for 12+ years. Recently had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Monroe and she is great! She took her time reviewing my concerns and made sure I was comfortable with the approach for my babies care as they enter their advanced years.

They have a wonderful staff, they have such patience with parents of pets that are anxious and upset. The vets are caring, loving and supportive. Dr. Roufail is.my hero. He treats all his patients with loving care. I recommend this veterinarian service to everyone.

Dr. Weinstein the vet to see if you want your pet to have the best. He is knowledgeable, skilled, and wont take you to the cleaners. Dr weinstein retired and I have never and probably will never have a better vet. I hope you have a wonderful retirement.

They only care about money. They charged me $95 for an "emergency visit" just bc i was ten minutes late to my appt that i scheduled 3 weeks in advance. If you really care about animals you wouldn't make it impossible for people to give them regular care

HOWARD BEACH veterinarian is excellent. The staff are so kind and professional. The doctor is so caring and so attentive to my puppy I cannot thank her enough they are wonderful! They are five star all the way thank you so much for everything you do.

What a good experience came with what we thought was an emergency and Dr Tracey and staff were very attentive and informative. The wait wasn’t too long and the facilities were clean and well kept recently renovated and ample. Definitely recommend

I have been coming to Howard Beach Animal Clinic since I bought my dog at 6 months . Benny turned 16 years this august 2022. The doctors are great and the staff is so considerate. I highly recommend them to anyone who has pets. The best.

Our dog was vomiting and had diarrhea. Both had blood in it. We called HBAC and they were able to fit Millie in--for a fee of course--but still we appreciated they could see her. They checked her, gave her all she needed and she's fine.

I love this place and the people who work there. They are amazing people. I personally love this place dearly. If you want to save money and get good quality vet care Howard Beach is a must. No other vet care about you like they do
