Heed my warning: do not come and shop at this Best Buy if you are not South Asian, Asian, or Caucasian. This is what happened to me. Today, November 27, 2023, I had to pick up my online purchase for an Oral B io 10 series, which I was treated well because I purchased the item before I arrived. But it was the second purchase; that's why I am leaving this review. I saw that Best Buy was selling the io 5 series for $99.99 (on sale), so I decided to purchase this item for a family member for Christmas. When I arrived at the checkout, the line was long. I was sixth in line, and the line was moving slowly, so two more cashiers came to the front to help move the line. When it came my time to cash out, I approached a young South Asian female cashier, and she wanted to know about my online purchase. I showed her the receipt with my ID and informed her that I was only purchasing the Oral B io5 toothbrush. Still, as I remained respectful to the cashier (from India), she treated me like I had no right to be in the store. When it came time to pay, my 'Tap' on my debit card didn't work, so the female cashier shouted, "Your card is not working; insert your card and put in your PIN." Now, this is where it gets humiliating. The cashier proceeded to take the item off the counter and place it on the floor behind the cash so she could talk to one of her colleagues. Where I was cashing out, there were two other cashiers to the left of me with customers. After I paid, the cashier returned and said, "The payment went through." Then proceeded to bend down and pick up the item off the floor. I looked dead in her eyes, "Why did you place my item on the floor?" The cashier replied, "I have to protect the item." I snapped back, "From what? There are four people (two people at each cash), plus there are four staffers at the exit; how am I going to grab this and make a run for it?!" But I didn't stop there; I gave this cashier a piece of my mind. "Funny, I watched you cash out sets of two South Asian Families who bought a PS5 and an iPad, and the second Asian family bought a Macbook; you didn't take their items away when they were purchasing, but you took away mine. How would you feel if I treated you the same way? You came to my country, and you're probably an International student, who I am one Canadian who welcomes all newcomers because Canada is a meltpot of diversity, and you have the audacity to treat me like I'm a thief when I spent $460 with the item right in front of you?" She rolled her eyes and I snapped back, "Really, you're going to roll your eyes at me? What you did was wrong. Shame on you for bringing your racist ignorance into my country. And if the tables were turned, how would you feel if I treated you the same way? We are both women of colour, regardless of our ethnicity; how would you feel if someone, or myself, treated you the same way?" When I said what I said, I didn't raise my voice, I didn't yell at her, but I gave her a piece of my mind... I cussed her out without disrespecting her or causing a scene. The cashier took a step back and paused. She didn't apologize, but she stood there shocked. After I paid, I found a store assistant manager who gave me a $25 gift card, but I am going to another Best Buy location and return both the iO 5 toothbrush and the gift card. Why? I don't need her negative energy to be added to this Christmas gift. Plus, as I waited for the gift card from the assistant manager, I watched that same female South Asian cashier serving other South Asian customers waiting to cash, and she didn't take away their items while she went and spoke to her colleagues. She treated customers who looked like her with respect, so this cashier is racist, simple as that. So, to those who are reading my review, if you are not South Asian, Asian, or Caucasian. Please, go to another Best Buy; Black Canadians, all ages and genders, are not welcome at this Best Buy. Save yourself the humiliation.

I went to buy an IPhone 13 at this location. The Indian looking man at the front of the counter at the phone section gave me the worst service of my life. He frowned and challenged me with the worst attitude. He didn’t offer me a sit and he was just very rude answering all my questions. This employee also didn’t want to give me a $100 gift card which a different one offered me the last time I came in to make some inquiries until I asked for his manager and his manager gave me the discount. Why would someone come and by the latest phone and spend all that money and all you can do is act sad and bitter towards the customer? Best Buy you need to improve your customer service with your employees because there are other stores that sell almost everything you do. All we want as customers is good plain simple service with a smile and respect that’s all. If your reps are having a bad day I suggest you spot that fast and pull them off the floor so they don’t give awful services to people. I worked out of your store angry after making this iPhone 13 purchase and I almost thought of returning it so I can go someone else to spend my hard earned money. This is by far the worst customer service I have received by an agent in my entire life. 0 star is what you deserve.
I am giving one star as no star is not an option. I bought INSIGNIA fridge/freezer and it broke after 2 years. I bought extended warranty. It will take like 30 days until I have the fridge repaired,and imagine being without fridge this long with three kids even though I bought extended warranty. So be aware for extended warranty and how best buy sells you that as being a sweet deal. It is far from it and trust me if I have known this I would never buy it. It took 5 days for service department to call back, then 3 days until technician came, then technician submitted the claim with the part replacement request, and service review did not even acknowledge and another 4 days pass. When I call to complain it willl take another 5 business days until service review responds back to my complain to go and approve the technicians repair request and on top of that it will take 3 business days to order the part and another 3 days to send the technician to repair the fridge. Ridiculous!!! I will be sending my bills of spoiled foods from my broken fridge as well as the take out food receipts to a claim department as they do not seem to care and escalate my claim. Not a happy customer!!!
My old laptop developed a critical hardware problem and had to be replaced. I went to Best Buy on Progress Avenue and ordered a new laptop from a salesperson named Danielle. She assured me that the Geek Squad could do a setup and data transfer while I waited as soon as the laptop was in. There was no way to make an appointment with the Geek Squad but I was told this wouldn't be a problem. I was travelling on business and needed the laptop for my trip so this was a selling feature. But it wasn't true. When we arrived at the Geek Squad desk they told me I'd have to leave both laptops with them and that they couldn't guarantee the work could be done in time for my trip, which was in 2 days. They were overbooked and understaffed. I left without having the work completed and have to hope that my old laptop will make it through my trip without failing. Recommendations - 1: Put in an appointment system for the Geek Squad so that your customers know when they can have service done. 2: Advise your sales associates not to misrepresent the truth in the interest of getting a sale.
Worst Service ever i had in my life, went to buy a phone iPhone 15 Pro Max. We had to port the sim from Rogers to bell we got the notification everything but then the Employer called Abishan he doesn’t know what he is doing, he asked us no to message any message and gave us a lame excuse by telling server is down so please come back after 1 hour he can’t do anything, after 1 hour we went back and another Employee told us that this could have fix at 2:30 only why would you come back, these kind of people have to improve, like we are not sitting Simple and we scarifies our day off to get work done and these people waste our time, irresponsible and worst service i had in my life, not gonna visit this place ever. And please don’t keep the id proof, he asked us to keep the id there and after 1 hour we came back he just left it on table and he is gone homie. How safe is to keep and give our precious documents on table. Irresponsible People. I would say please don’t ever go to this location to buy value able items. Don’t buy insurance if it’s not required. Salesman will try to sell you for their benefits. Poor customer services. Even salesman don’t know details about the product and fail to explain the features and facts about the product. If you’re eligible to claim your insurance they will send you to the manufacturer and waste your precious time and your insurance money. Some time billing receipts will miss some of the details due to cashiers misunderstanding and poor knowledge about product & procedures. Once I bought the MacBook Pro for $4000 with 4 year of insurance coverage they sent me to apple store for 1st year warranty to check my machine for repairs and to see what they can do on behalf of them and I waited my 3 days & insurance money to fix the issue. Salesman will not explain the product details if they think that you are not going to buy the product. Very poor customer service and will not not appreciate the regular customer. Very very bad customer service and will never buy the stuff from this store again.
Wish I could give zero star . WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE . They definitely need to hire a new manager . I was provided with information last week and this evening when I went there to buy laptop based on the information which I was provided last week the store manager told me our employees are well trained and they couldn’t give this information and the information you have is wrong information . Well as a customer I wouldn’t know what else do you offer with a laptop so somebody must have told me from your staff if you buy our membership this is what you will get free with our membership . So you must check with your employees before telling the customers let’s start it over again .. everybody’s time is precious and you should respect that especially when you are a manager . No wonder why this store has so many bad reviews already .. Quick advice : Treat your customers with respect and Best Buy has well earned name and Dnt ruin it by giving wrong information and worst customer service.
Unpleasant experience returning an item. Customer serve rep, Sara and manager, sanu were not helpful and I wonder what type of customer service/solution training did they receive. Present customers remain future customers. Future customers in retail are important or are they. Competition is ou there or how easy Best Buy employees forget. Buyer be aware! read the return policy but that won't matter either. If I could provide a zero I would. We were returning a defective breast pump for a new mom and needed a replacement the same day. Best Buy said we don't care!! Thank you Sara and sanu. UPDATE - On July 28th I received a call from the store manager, Allan who was very personable, understanding and helpful in resolving my issue. He gladly offered a refund and I am very grateful to him. It was great speaking with him and would consider future purchases at his store. Thank you again.
Went to store to purchase a headset for Series X. They said it was in stock but wasn't. They offered to deliver next day, it never arrive. I called customer service for the delivery company and store but to no success. Nobody was able to locate my product or tell me when it would be delivered. Just said wait a few days and see if it turns up ? Really ? On Black Friday you are telling me to wait to see if it shows up ? Promised me a credit for all of this and never did. I called them to remind them but they gave me a run around. Still no credit. *** Followup 30-Nov-23: I called and spoke to someone who said the same thing. The product was ordered through the store so they can't credit me anything. They can't adjust delivery orders placed at the store. Still not very happy with the level of service.
They should teach some costumer service to their staff. A girl named “Daniella” was cashing me out today and she seemed like she hates her job. Didn’t said hi, bye or anything. Looking at me with upset face, when asked questions she didn’t answer. I mean she did right after 3rd time repeating. Not that she’s busy or talking with someone else. She just didn’t wanted to answer seemed to me. at the end when I said thank you have a good day, she literally rolled her eyes and walked went away and didn’t said anything. Hey dear managers, this is a high costumer service involved multy million dollar business. Please hire people who does have the capability to perform a fair costumer service and not give such a terrible time to me or people like me. Thank you.
"Best Buy Scarborough has earned my disdain with their abysmal customer service. My recent purchase was plagued by delays, and the staff's manners were shockingly poor. Attempts to inquire about the delay were met with indifference .It's disheartening to witness such a lack of professionalism, and I never gonna comeback. Calling people from back in line as they like . And finally 5 people will be there to attend 2 customers at a time. And if someone goes everybody follow them and nobody will be there in the counter. Spent around half an hour in front even i was in first in the que without getting a help from there side. Not even giving an eye contact. With the customer. Really worst experience wasted my time there in line.
What a horrible experience dealing with Sarah team lead at this Bestbuy. Tried to price match airpods with Walmart which was $20 cheaper showed her on my phone its sold by Walmart not third party and also showed her multiple stores has it in stock. Granted 2 of the 3 stores said almost out of stock but one store said in stock in green meaning they have plenty. This Walmart was only a 10 minute drive from bestbuy. She sat on the phone calling for 10 minutes confirming if they really do have stock claiming stock on websites are delayed LOOL. What an embarrassment of a leader in this BestBuy store. What a big waste of time. Literally drove to Walmart and just purchased the airpods for $20 cheaper.
Today, I visited Scarborough Best Buy. I asked 5 people for help and all of them were ignoring me by saying they were busy. One of them said what help did I need when I said I need some information about an Apple Watch he suddenly said he was busy and he left. I went to customer service and I said I asked 5 people for help and nobody helped me. Please tell me how can I get some help. There was an asian guy at the customer service and he was so rude and unprofessional. Instead of showing me how to get some help, he raised his voice and basically he told me to leave and everyone was busy so they could not help. I know customers are not important for Best Buy anymore but they make a big mistake
I went there to purchase a monitor . One of the licensed rep helped us answering a few questions and recommended one model. We went to cash it out and we realized that she provided wrong info in terms of speakers. Again we went back to her even without saying sorry, she recommended another one and said go to cashier and order to be shipped to your home. It’ll take one to two business days. At the cashier , he said it’ll be more due to your address. Again we went back to some one else and asked them to check if there is any in stuck and there was one. Finally we cashed it out. It was frustrating that even none of them apologized for bad experience after more than an hour back and forth.
Buying a new TV … gosh, where to start? It’s been a long time, and TV’s have certainly changed! I did some research and spoke to a family member, who advised me to buy 4K resolution, with a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a minimum of three HDMI ports. In addition, smart TV’s are the way to go. We went to this stand-alone location because it was the largest. We’ve purchased many big-ticket items from here before, but it took a long time to flag down a “blue shirt” employee. After discussing several options, the TV that we chose wasn’t available! Oh my! I can’t say I was entirely happy or confident with the service or advice, but we decided to call it a day, and visit another location.
Worse costumer service, like girls at mobile sections just talking with each other for long time i wait for like 15 minutes after that i buy smart phone and they forgot to register me , after week i can't able to use my mobile data then they tell me "sorry we forgot to register u" but main thing is that i buy the mobile on sale they said now the plan is no more, ask for manager then the "Sonu or Sone " i can't remember the name properly , he is soo rude and too much ego He said " you wanna buy mobile or not , if not then get out from the store " i feel like Discrimination at that time , i pay and get nothing . Holly was one of the greatest workers I experienced by being at Best Buy today she took the time to help me had my best interest at heart listen to me and gave me heartfelt advice that catered to all my needs and concerns. She is a phenomenal speaker and communicator and sincere in everything she does and knows how to take care of her customers if it were up to me I say she needs to own the whole store or run several she does an amazing job and is humble at what she does. God bless her. She helped me get a laptop and took me around and gave me a tour and run down of which one's were best for my needs she took a lot of time just for me. Elevate her.
This is my favourite store from both a personal and business perspective. Firstly, the staff at this location are exceptional - friendly and super knowledgeable. They take their time with customers and are thorough with answering your questions, you don't feel rushed or that you've bothered them. The selection they have is also amazing and the store is always clean and tidy. I did a massive business purchase from them so a special shout out to Luchi, Maaran and Sai for everything I've put them through so far! A huge thank you from the bottom of my heart and I really do look forward to more purchase opportunities!
I posted my rating a few years back. Let me add the following: I am generally pleased with the service at this Best Buy location (Progress Ave - Scarborough). What I've learned since that rating, is that you cannot call the store directly. In my case I need to speak with the specialist who sold me a high-end product. The only way to reach him, is by going back to the store. Their direct line (yes there actually is one), will not let you through to the store. Poor customer service and a colossal failure by Best Buy in long-term customer retention. If they keep this up, they may go the way of "Future Shop".. SMH
Possibly the worst Best Buy I've ever been to. Associates are impossible to find. There may be a couple of super dedicated folks I see who are running around proactively helping out customers while the rest are just chatting away with other associates. When I did get an associate and asked to look at some products, they stood over my shoulder as if Darth Vader was breathing down my spine. I felt as if I was being treated like I was about to steal something. I get it there is security issues, but this makes for a terrible customer experience and no other Best Buy I've been to is this ridiculous about security.
Ordered Philips multi-groom trimmer from this store on 25th November. They said it will be delivered within 3-5 business days. After 2 days I am getting an email saying it’s back ordered and will be shipped on 21st December. Can you believe it!!!? When I contact customer service they are coldly saying you can cancel the order and get the refund. What about the time I wasted waiting in the line and all the time I waited for the order? And also, all the offers from other vendors are gone now. Are you going to pay for the extra money I am paying somewhere else. GUYS DON’T BUY FROM HERE!
Unfortunately, I didn’t have a good experience with this store so far. I’ve bought an laptop, and after the persistence of the salesman, I bought also the membership assistance. He told me I could take my computer in 2~3 hours later. But he didn’t tell me the store would close 1 hour after my purchase. Even though I emphasized that I needed the laptop in the same day. He said me they would send me an email up to 3 hours for sure! But guess what? No email, no call, no laptop, store closed, prejudice and stress instead.
Worst customer service by Mark & Gigi in the phone department. Mark had no idea about plans and deals, without telling me about offers he started filling in my bill information. Very bad attitude and had to wait more than 2 hours and still haven’t got any service. Told the supervisor Luchi about it and she just disappeared after that. I recently bought $1600 worth of products from you guys, now I’m gonna return everything to you for your worst customer service. The manager wasn’t available at that time in the store.
Please sell value, rather than product. I had a very bad experience with this store especially with the home appliance. I bought stove from this store, sales manager mentioned it’s good, but the oven not working from day 1. When I reach the store store manager she ready to replace, but the guy who sold he asked huge amount for replacement. He never feel and agree that he cheated me. Team please make us to come to your shop based on the trust, and these sales people ruin everything whatever you earn.
Went there yesterday to get new Sony headphones but they gave me an open box product. I wouldn't mind buying an open box product at all but they charged me full price for it and wasn't upfront about it. New Sony headphone always come with the cable wrapped in white tape but this one was not. There was so much dust on it like it's used. The ear pads smelled like sweat. And to make things worse, previous user already named the headphones. Took me so long to clean and get rid of the smell.
I called some stores, did research online to buy a fridge of my budget. No help, no assist. Then I went to this Best Buy of Scarborough Town Center. One young man helped me a lot very professionally. Then came cashier Nave. This lady helped me a lot, scheduled a delivery, that worked perfect for us. They delivered the new fridge and took the old fridge out right on time. Their respect for other's time and convenience is immense. Kudus to Nave for her excellent customer service. Live on.
I purchased a laptop from Best Buy a few days ago. Initially I wanted to check out a few places but the exceptional service I received from Bassam made me feel confident that I was getting the right product at a great price. Bassam was knowledgeable and asked all of the right questions to ensure I was getting exactly what I needed. The selection of laptops was amazing at this location and the entire transaction was smooth. I highly recommend going to see Bassam at the STC Best Buy.
Walked into the store and knew exactly what I wanted to purchase and showed the employee working at the door and he told me it would be behind the checkout. After waiting in line at checkout I was told I had to pick it up at Geek Squad. After picking up the item at Geek Squad I was told to line back up at the front checkout (after waiting in line at Geek Squad). Waited in a total of THREE lines just to end up where I started. Worst service ever I have experienced in a Best Buy.
My recent experience at Best Buy Scarborough was absolutely terrible. I had to wait for over an hour without any customer representative available to assist me. It was completely frustrating and unacceptable. What made matters even worse was that they billed me for a laptop purchase without providing an email confirmation or even the name of the person who processed the transaction. This lack of communication and poor customer service left me extremely disappointed.
Martin and Sanu are useless employees. Customers were not taken care of well, I do not suggest anyone requesting for their assistance. I saw something on sale, requested for it and was sold. However, Martin gave me the wrong product and didn’t compensate for selling me on the wrong product. He brought Sanu to help and they were completely a waste of time. Neither of them were helpful, thanks for wasting my time. I DO NOT SUGGEST PEOPLE COMING HERE
One of the big store bestbuy I ever visit Not a lot of selection here for computer & camera but tons of selection for TV & phone Some of the employees was really nice, our sale person even help us carry the TV all the way out to our car but overall experience was slow. Most of the employees was gathering in the middle and chatting. Price was good- a lot of products is on sale for affordable price. We bought a 65 inches Sony TV for approx $1k7
It's a good store, tho they sold me a 3D Printer that does not work!!! Will be returning it. And ontop of that they have the music so loud that I could hardly hear the employee until he had to go and turn down the music, and while I was talking to the guy another employee started turning it up again!! Very poor customer service in that area. Turn off the music or have a better one that won't be an issue for people that are hard on hearing.
This is the worst Best Buy ever, I got Apple Watch and it didn’t even turn on, the next day I went there again I got the new one opened the box beside them and the second one didn’t work as well. And the girl helped there was still trying to turn it one even tho i was saying I need refund, she was so rude and saying to her friends “wasting of time” they wasted my time. And didn’t even apologize.. I don’t recommend at all guys!!!
This is THE WORST Best Buy for customer service. Standing and waiting 20 minutes for someone to help us get a laptop. And then when I finally found someone I got the old “sorry I don’t work in this department”. They said they called someone but again, another 15 minutes and no one showed up. At that point we just walked away. They might have a varying array of products, but good luck getting someone to help you with it.
Though this was my first ever visit to Best Buy. The store is huge and has numerous options. I was here to purchase a laptop. After an hour of brainstorming session and some quick usage I was able to decide to purchase a good suitable machine as per my needs. Both the sales and customer service staff were polite and they were able to help and support the queries which were asked. Overall a 5 Star.
Great customer service from Madeena! We went there to purchase a new phone&number as an add-on line last week. The store lead named Madeena helped us clarify our queries and answered all our questions with a beautiful smile. Also, she informed us about their offers, helping us to grab better deals. She showed great patience and was very professional. Great experience from the whole team!!!

Most of the items are either out of stock, or do not meet customer requirements. I just went to purchased Seagate Hard Drive 1.5 TB, she checked nothing found. She went inside and brought 2 TB, said it's almost same priced. I said ok. She brought red colour. I said I want black. She went again, black was out of stock. I ended up buying 2 TB red rather than 1.5 TB black ;)
Bestbuy Scarborough is probably the best Bestbuy I've been to. They have an actual camera booth with professional sales guys who are actually photographers so they know what they are talking about. They have the latest Canon, Nikon, and Sony This helped me making a critical decision to switch to mirrorless cameras and keep my glass from the old system I had. Well done

He answered all of my questions and provided meaningful insights and guidance into what TV to purchase for my specific needs. I was very happy with my purchase. This location has gotten worse over the years with some new associates who have absolutely zero customer service, and are just plain rude! I was once a frequent customer, but now I try to avoid this place at all cost! I can see why so many of the better associates left, with some of these toxic employees still lurking around. Too much attitude, no substance.
Shafi the Geek squad guy was amazing, he dedicated his time as if he was buying something for himself, he explained everything thoroughly without even rushing. One of the best customer experience in Canada. Haroon the customer advisor who checked us out with patience and didn't rush even though the store was officially closed for public.
Worse location. Delivery was attempted 7 times and each time there was an excuse and taking the fridge back to their warehouse Twice it was Dent and damage . Finally the order which placed in August arrived 2 weeks.but with missing panels. And they keep making excause.never place an order from this location.very un professional staff

I had to wait for at least 30-45 mins to get an Associate to buy a Galaxy watch. And, I could see some associate literally free n chatting but not helping.
They take geek squad warranty of mobile accessories, but they don’t have accessories like the tuffen glass also and they are like they are not controlling inventory. It’s not in their hand and does not take any responsibility for that. Worst customer service ever. Very much disappointed by store and their managers.
Tharshika was very helpful in supporting us with the mobile purchase. We visited the store during boxing day and it was heavily crowded. She was so patient and handled us with utmost customer centric nature. Would strongly appreciate her empathy and knowledge to help us all the way. Kudos to BestBuy!
Needed a new tv for Mom to watch the leaf game. Ron was amazing at the Progress & 401. Very knowledgeable, patient and kind. We actually left another Best Buy store, not getting the assistance we were use from Best Buy in the past. Happy we decided to go to this location. Thanks Ron You’re awesome!!
Weird and rude staff especially the hijab wearing team lead. They need re-train that the return policy is there for product return if customer doesn't like it. Worst experience as a customer till date best buy needs to look at these associates causing customers feel uncomfortable and disrespectful.
I bought a game that turned out to have some issues and didn’t run well at all. They were understanding and allowed me to return it with a one time exception. This is why I love bestbuy, I always feel like I’m getting the best price and the customer service is amazing. Keep up the great work!
Abysmal customer service. We were told to look for items ourselves. Someone eventually came to help, but when I needed more help, everyone disappeared a moment later. I didn't even want to buy something from there. They don't deserve my money. Decent selection of items though.
the employees are lazy and pretty stuck up if you ask me, 3 days ago i bought a samsung a54, and i said i want a dual sim and unlocked, that girl, just went a picked up a phone available, didnt ask me for color or anything, thats it she said now pay!! FYI, it wasnt dual sim !
I tried to return a scooter at this location and I was told by the manager that I cant cause its open but when I returned it at different location I didn’t have a hassle and I returned it successful. Manager needs more training instead of picking and choosing customers
Recently I went to Best Buy, ( near to STC) to buy a speaker. I waited for an assistant for almost one hour and that was a horrible experience for me. So please treat customers in a good manner and improve customer service or please add the staff headcount.
Great help, great customer service and selection. Asked for specs and prices on laptops and Sandeep helped me compare and contrast the selection fir the best gaming laptops that are of best value. Ended up getting what I wanted, the Asus ROG!!
Its been more than10 days that pre order has been placed and still no response/call from them yet. the answer is there is no stock or phone not received from Apple. carrier providers are delivering it faster then best buy. very bad service
