Purchased an 18L Sunbeam 'Convection Bake & Grill' compact oven from Bing Lee online 12 September 2021 and collected from Chatswood store. Price was cheaper than other retailers and purchase and collection were convenient. Staff on the phone were friendly and helpful. Security guard at collection point was fine - just a bit robotic, but it's a boring job, so no gripes there. As for the product, so far it's working fine, and is a good compact size for our kitchen bench. Added bonus is it comes with a round baking tray for heating up a pizza, so there's a concave bit at the back of the device to cater to this. If, like us, you are using this device primarily to toast slices of bread for breakfast, you'll find it quickly heats to toasting temperature and cools quickly as well, once turned off. Don't be put off by the electrical chemical smell the first time you use it - this only happens the first time and you won't notice it after that. You may need to experiment a bit with the temperature as the dial set to 'Toast' with temperature dial set to max was too hot and quickly burnt the toast. What works better is turning the temp back to around 175 degrees from the full toast mode. Also need to experiment with middle or the rung below that for the rack, depending on type of bread, as with thick toast on middle rack (as recommended in the user guide), it can quickly burn on the top surface of the toast. You may well be thinking why's he using a compact oven to cook toast? Well, vertical toasters dry out the bread and leave it with a bit of an 'electrical' taste. A toaster oven on the other hand gently cooks with ceramic elements. Problem is the models sold on the Australian market last only around three years in toast mode every morning, and after this time the ceramic elements bend and cause a short, at which time it's time to dispose and buy a new one. We've never had an Australian-bought toaster oven that's lasted longer than 3.5 years. It's a different story in East Asia, where Japanese, Koreans and Taiwanese use 100V toaster ovens to toast bread and these typically last at least ten years before failing. But at this price (around $90) I guess 3.5 years isn't bad. I just feel bad for the environment - this rate of in-built obsolescence is a terrible thing for the environment. Good for company bottom lines though! Cheers, and happy bred toasting. p.s. If you need to roast a chook or veggies, get a full size oven, or at least a bech-top one that costs at least $200 and has decent insulation to seal in the heat.

Couldn't give 0 stars so had to give 1 even though it is not deserved. Declan is rude and should not be working in customer service. I went to return a soda stream that leaks when used as per the instructions, as soon as my fiancé and I walked in and the lady at the desk asked him to help us he huffed and puffed and rolled his eyes. I explained the issue and even brought a bottle of water so they could test it in the store. Declan tested it out the back then came out and said "Well yeah it leaks but if you put less water in the bottle it won't". Firstly thanks for the obvious unhelpful solution (I don't want a faulty product I want one that works), secondly I shouldn't have to change the way it is supposed to be used for it to work (which I said to him). He very reluctantly told me he could give me a refund but would not give me a replacement one (even though it was under warranty and only 2 weeks old). His colleague also kept saying "it's just going to keep happening with all of them" and didn't want him to give me a refund or a replacement. I ended up just saying I would take a refund as I just wanted to get out of the store as it was such a bad experience. The refund also became a big deal as I didn't have the original credit card it was purchased on as it was a gift to me and purchased by someone else. He sighed and rolled his eyes several times at me and made me feel like I was the issue. I will never ever go back to this store and he should not be working with customers, I assume he is the manager. Worst service ever and Declan sucks!

The service here is quite frankly terrible. The staff have no idea how to communicate with customers, and are clearly not happy being there. They have zero enthusiasm, it's like talking to robots. I'd brought in an item that was still under warranty, was told they'd take a look and get back to me ...I had to phone 3 times over the next week or so to get an update as they just couldn't be bothered providing the update they promised. Eventually, when it was determined that the item wasn't working and needed to be refunded or exchanged (again, after I PHONED to followed up)they told me it was an online order so the online team would have to process it. The refund didn't come through even after two weeks so we went back into store and were told it's not their fault, it's online teams fault. Eventually managed to argue it out with the staff member and after 2 weeks finally got the refund. Honestly, if your internal processes are broken, don't make it the customers problem. Will most definitely not be shopping here again, and will avoid Bing Lee altogether. Jb hi-fis customer experience is far superior, I'll take my money there thanks.

I tried calling Bing Lee Head Office to lodge a complaint only to be told I could not speak to a person but would have to would have to email them - no thanks, Head Office not interested enough so I posted here instead. The more people that avoid Bing Lee Chatswood the better - their staff do not deserve a job and the store does not deserve to stay in business. I can however, highly recommend Bing Lee at Moore Park, where the staff were very friendly, polite and helpful, making the exchange without fuss.

Worst customer service ever. I purchased a washing machine from them only to discover it doesn’t work, I went into the store and was very rudely told I had to contact online customer service since it was an online order. The employee i talked to was very rude, didn’t let me finish explaining what was wrong with the machine and sounded like he did not want to be there. I then contacted customer service and was told I had to speak to the Chatswood store as I selected the in store pickup option, so I rang the chatswood store and I suspect the same employee answered the phone, kept interrupting me as I was speaking and spoke to me in a very rude manner, he told me there was nothing he could do and that I have to go and contact the manufacturers of the washing machine (which is illegal under Australian consumer law), not only did he blatantly refuse to help me, he hung up the phone right after he told me to contact the manufacturer.

We organised to order a Fridge to be delivered to Potts Pt. We explained that the lift was not working and that we needed it to be taken up 6 x flights, we were happy to pay extra. Salesperson said no problem at all, and after 5 x phone calls we went ahead and ordered and paid for the Fridge for next day delivery. Next day the Delivery person arrived at the building and refused to deliver despite our very clear arrangements. Refused and left with the Fridge! Called Bing Lee back - had to wait on hold for over 2 hours listening to the ridiculous/repetitive ads by Yenda and Lionel. In the end they said they had on-sold the fridge to someone else by the next day and no longer had anything so had to refund the money! What a waste of time and effort, why not be upfront and say we cannot accommodate the request instead of promising and not delivering, literally!

Very helpful service and quick delivery next day. The appliance I bought (a 50kg gas stove) was unfortunately damaged in transit (these things happen), so a quick replacement was delivered the next day. Their recovery of the problem really impressed me, so in a funny way, this transit damage actually impressed me with their customer satisfaction commitment. I'm now done forever with "The Good Guys" at Chatswood >> they were under major refurbishment, major road works outside meant parking difficult, 30 min wait for a person to start serving me, and then wanted two weeks to deliver and were more expensive Bing Lee, you're awesome

I Bing Lee seems to be misleading customers. I placed an order 2 months ago for delivery on the Feb, 21st. On the 19th I've got an email telling me there is a delay. Meanwhile, on the website the delivery date for new orders was, like, 15th March. My order didn't arrive on the 15th of March either. Currently, the website promises delivery before the 9th, April. Yet the customer service rep wasn't able to tell me any update on availability of my order. I'm not sure how good this business model is, but what Bing Lee did is keep my 1600$ for two months interest-free. I'm never shopping there again.

Worst service and experience ever!!!!! Placed an order 2 months ago but didn’t receive the item at all. Whenever you called to check the estimated delivery time. The rudest guy: Kevin keeps finding excuses and when I requested a refund, he told you sure, go somewhere else to buy!!!!! Hang up the phone DIRECTLY! Never seen this terrible attitude, and even he said he is the store manager . Turn around I ordered it from Appliances Central, only 1 day I received it!!!!! Why would I buy things from Bing Lee???

Rude staff who have absolutely do not know the definition of 'quality customer service'. Just shop at JB Hi-fi instead! 1) Once went in with intent to purchase fridge/tv, the whole shebang for my new apartment. As I was negotiating pricing the rep suddenly sat down with his hands behind his head and began watching one of the TV's on display (??) 2) Had to return a product (completely sealed & unopened & with receipt). The guy opened it to inspect and then had the audacity to go 'sorry we can't refund you as it was opened' (???)

Went to buy a tv remote the staff were friendly and helpful a staff member who served me said that if was the wrong one, bring it back and we’ll refund you the money and as it turned out it wasn’t compatible with my tv and I return it and the staff were only too happy to refund the cost of the remote I’d have no hesitation in shopping here again

Excellent shopping experience. Rosemary was very helpful when I came in to collect my purchase and I enjoyed talking with her. When I asked about another item, she was able to locate it and the checkout process for both items was smooth and fun. Rosemary has a good sense of humour and even laughed at my Tetris joke. Every time i walk in to this store, even if it is super small, an eye hawk security guard will follow you and watch u eagerly. So instead of settling ur mind to the items u want. Purchased a 7kg top loading Simpson washer from Maricel at the Chatswood store. She was very helpful and accommodating. Delivery was arranged without a hitch and the delivery people gave 45mins advanced notice of arrival. They were quick and efficient. Product tested and so far so good. Excellent overall experience.

Check the price first before you paid. Otherwise even you find out other places have lower prices, they will not let you return or give you price match at all. Also the staff in the front door is not friendly and he don’t know how to do customer service at all.

Bought a Samsung external SSD, using click and collect. I didn’t read the instructions fully and arrived too early. The man that served me was great, he found the item and I was on my way in 5 mins. Very nice about it too. I’ll use them again

Pretty disappointed! Purchased an item on EBay from Bing Lee and used the 15%promotion offer and then they email a couple of days later to tell me they don’t have the stock. Now the promotions is finished on EBay. Thanks for nothing Bing Lee!
