We ordered a couch in April. We were told it would take 10-14 weeks. We FINALLY got the couch yesterday. The lack of communication between staff members is ridiculous and needs to be majorly improved! When we first went it, we discussed the possibility of a blue couch; however, we were still undecided until we seen the green couch in the showroom. We had met Alex upon our first visit and knew employees received commission. Still undecided, we left and discussed what would be best for our home. A few days later we called and were told Alex wouldn't be in for a few days. So we went in, explained we had been dealing with Alex and changed our minds from the Blue to a Green. We put a deposit in and ordered the couch. The lady that took our order didn't seem happy and tried to get us to come back when Alex was in. We live in Crossfield. Weeks went by and we called Alex to get an update on the Green couch. However, he assumed we wanted the blue couch and called to cancel the green couch (which was already built and we didn't know). He told us it would still be a few weeks. We called at the 14 week mark to get another update on our GREEN couch. This is when we were told that he called the manufacturer after our last phone call and had the blue couch fast tracked. We were not impressed! When I called the manufacturer to get more of an update on our couch and to make sure the colors were actually accurate, we were told they had 2 greens picked out for our couch and the cushions. The woman from the manufacturer was awesome with communicating with us and ensure the couch would get built correctly. We didn't understand how 2 greens were picked when we only choose 1 solid green for the couch. I had asked to speak to the manager multiple times but each time, she was not available. I had called the store a few times, only to be told Alex wasn't in. I'd leave my name and number and would wait a few days before calling back AGAIN. When I called again to get an update on the couch to see if it was finished. Alex had been on vacation when the couch was ready, and yet again the store failed to communicate with the customer. After approximately 20 weeks, we now have the couch we ORIGINALLY ordered. We absolutely loved some of the furniture pieces in the store. However, due to the lack of communication between staff and the customer, we won't be returning to the store.

We had been looking for a tv table for a long time. Having trouble finding a nice style with good quality and the right wood tone. We went to birch wood and found a nice style the trouble was finding the right stain, birch wood was amazing and let us take multiple samples home to find the right one. This made all the difference the stain we were going to go with would not of matched as well. Looking at the color samples and wood finishing techniques brushed versus the heritage planed cut? It appeared there were differences even though the salesperson said they were equal besides finishes. We also found some examples of the stain on furniture in the store to get a better idea. We went with the color that looked the best but a different finish then we thought we wanted because the color looked closer with this finish. Super happy we took our time because the tv table looks absolutely stunning the color is beautiful and it’s solid and well made. Due to covid there was a long wait 2-3 months to receive it. Extremely happy with the purchase!

We bought a peice here recently, and I absolutely would not return. We inquired about what appeared to be a dent on the front, and the staff have not been responsive. I was told that the dent was likely a "wormhole on the edge", and then received no further contact for 2+ weeks. We felt this explanation seemed unlikely, given there were no wormholes along any other edge it seems strange that any manufacturer would choose to place that side front and center rather than on the back. This seems more like eithor damage after production, or poor qaulity control from the manufacturer. There were other small quality issues that I would not have expected from a high end piece of furniture: uneven doors, scratches inside, gaps in the stain, a pebble on the glass door, etc. Overall we were not impressed for the price we paid. Update: after several follow-ups two months later the store has had someone come out to fix the dents.

I never do reviews, however I was looking for their address and saw the other reviews and frankly feel they are unjust and probably from a competitor, which is really tacky!! There are a lot of companies that sell only cheap china bought furniture, the quality of this furniture is second to none. My sister has a sofa passed down from their grandma and it's old.. The sofa is still in incredible shape. The quality and look of their new products are amazing and I am now in the process of buying all new furniture for my new house! Love it!! UPDATE: I bought my furniture 4 years ago, and it's been incredible. It still looks brand new and receive compliments on it every time we have company. Luke, I am sure they have a different lines like most companies, the birchwood label is all locally made. We ended up buying custom furniture to match our home and it matches perfectly. Greg

I don’t take the time to leave many reviews as a customer but I was motivated to do so after our experience with this business. We went in looking for a few pieces to finish our living room and kitchen. We paid for these purchases and were told 6-10weeks delivery for one coffee table and two bar stools. 12 weeks later we have still not seen our order. My wife has called more than once, receiving different reasons for what they were still waiting for and the excuses for the delay. This business has no interest in serving customers once they have taken your money. I have no faith I will receive our order and if we do, what condition it will arrive in. I will never go back and support this company and will go out of my way to tell anyone that is interested not to bother.

I purchased a beautiful sofa, loveseat and ottoman at Birchwood last summer. I have no complaints about the product or the delivery time, my complaint is about the service. I spent ALOT of $$$ in this store and was always very polite with my requests so I am not sure why I was treated so indifferent. The service was great until I paid for my purchase and then it was pretty much obsolete. Calls and emails placed were never responded to by Mora. I had to request a copy of my invoice THREE times before it was finally sent. Follow up calls that Mora said she would make were never done. . I am huge on service and this is one place I never received any and for that reason alone I will never shop there again.

I would give zero stars if that were an option. Birchwood Furniture has gone from superior quality furniture to sub-standard quality. After only six months, the fabric on our sofa set has become baggy, wrinkled, and worn looking. It looks a lot worse than our 30-year-old Birchwood set we still use downstairs. The customer rep insisted this was normal wear, and the solution was to add more fill to the cushions. Now it is a lumpy looking, wrinkled mess. DO NOT recommend!! Poor customer service. We should have purchased the Brick special, at least their sets last 9 - 10 years and they offer a complete replacement if there are any issues in the first year.

We took delivery of two sofas from Birchwood nearly three years ago (in early 2021), and still couldn't be happier with the quality. That they're made locally in Calgary is a cherry on top. Later in 2021, we also purchased a chair made by one of the other Canadian brands they carry (Handstone), and are totally happy with it too. And now, in 2023, we've returned for a Birchwood-made swivel chair, again having found that the Birchwood selection is good, and the quality seems better than comparably-priced options we looked at.

Beautiful Canadian made products. Purchased a couch and loveseat about 2 years ago. Awesome quality and look. Very happy to have something I know will last many many years. Treated very well by the staff and even after asking them to hold on to the couches for a few extra weeks once it was built they fecilitated that with no problem. Will absolutly purchase from here again!

Recently purchased a sofa from here and we had an amazing experience working with Birchwood. Everyone we worked with in store helped make our sofa purchase very easy and smooth. Love all the options and were able to find just the right one. Would recommend this to anyone and everyone who needs some new and high quality furniture!

I'd steer clear of here. I didn't appreciate their salesperson denigrating a competitor, one that was actually kinder and leaves customers to form their own opinions. In fairness (earning a second star), their manager was receptive to my feedback. They need an enforced code of conduct for their sales team.

We were helped by Alex and we really enjoyed our experience there. Alex never pressured us and was extremely patient with us. He answered all our questions with detail and great knowledge. I highly recommend this place! Ask for Alex! He's awesome!!!

I️ bought my livingroom furniture in 2008.... and when Sold all my furniture last year to downsize... it looked like the day it was bought! No sagging ... no wearing marks.... was still beautiful comfort. Wash it and live on it! Thank you !

I have been purchasing our furniture here for years. I love that I can customize the fabrics and I was able to make changes so the furniture fit the space perfect! The quality is exceptional and has stood the test of time!

This place is not a joke. Ignore any bad reviews. If you want high quality made in Canada Solid wood furniture give this place a visit. You always get what you pay for. Excellent service from sales and management.
