"I am very mad at the service provided by this post office"
"Great self service machines and one of the worst staff ever! They always seem to have problem with whatever I sent, so here are some examples: 1"
"Never have I come across someone as stubborn as Ashraf, the man who served me"
"Worst experience at a post office ever! Don’t go here if you still want to feel self-worth after your visit from doing a post office errand!! Me and my friend both got served by a very rude lady who at one point was refusing to give back my parcel as she has already printed a return label and then went onto dismiss us and shoved us for someone else to deal with as she “does not want to deal with us” and because we were apparently “wasting her time”"
"IF YOU ARE A TOURIST, I RECOMMEND NOT GOING TO THIS PLACE, much less going to ATTENDANTS RUTCH AND SARASH, I went to that post office to do a transfer test on my account in the morning with the attendant Ras she was very helpful and did her job perfectly without any problems ! As the transfer worked I went back in the afternoon to make another one but I had the bad experience that the RAS attendant was not there and I was very poorly attended by this gentleman and this woman called rutch in which they refused to make my transfer because I do not speak English very well, he made my transfer difficult due to the prejudice that I don't speak English perfectly! even though I said that I had made the same transfer earlier, and showing the receipt, he did everything to make it difficult, questioning me about things that are not in his interest, as I am a person who has traveled to several countries, I am already used to encountering this type of grumpy person with no patience to do the bare minimum of HIS WORK! where in the world is he getting paid for this!"
I am very mad at the service provided by this post office. My package came from germany so my partner, who this package was for, had to pay a customs fee. We've been waiting for weeks after and without any notice but by checking the package code found out that according to the delivery person the parcel couldn't be delivered even tho my partner was home the whole day and no concierge saw a delivery driver all day. The weekend after my partner went to the post office to receive terrible customer service, was told the package wasn't anywhere even tho everything said it's at the post office, after kindly asking one of the ladies checked the back for not even 2 minutes as if she wasn't looking and told my partner off and didn't want to help any further. Outside he met a delivery driver who was able to tell him that the package was apparently still in the truck of the original delivery guy, so he received a call to please deliver it the next day. The same scenario as before has happened. We called a week after hoping another delivery driver would just get it. After explaining the situation we were told to get a call back after they'd ring the depot and waited an hour. We called again and were rudely told that the depot can't be ringed (which is a crazy thing to tell the same customer) and were told a note was left behind. Another week passed by and no package, online tracking showed that the package hadn't been touched once. We call again and a nice guy tried his best to help us out, especially since he himself was confused as to why this package just couldn't get delivered. He left the office a note and told us it should be delivered within the next few days. Two days after we once again check ONLINE and see that, ONCE AGAIN, the package couldn't be delivered when we were, ONCE AGAIN, home all day!!!!!!! And to top it off it also says that the package is going BACK to germany??? I have never received such horrendous customer service from so many parties, only one person was nice enough to get the train moving and yet this is the result for absolutely no reason. Unbelievable
Great self service machines and one of the worst staff ever! They always seem to have problem with whatever I sent, so here are some examples: 1. I was sending a little baby blanket, packed it in a bag, bought postage online (always do), came to the office. The lady at the desk told me I can’t send it because this isn’t a small parcel (I bought a small parcel postage) because the (empty) edges of the bag were no fitting into her “iconic small parcel” box. I said that it isn’t a suit case and she can just bend them and it’ll fit and will leave some room for another small parcel. She said that she can’t do that (I know right, what an exercise!). Went to another post office - posted it with no problem. 2. I was sending a perfume to my friend in the UK. It was an unwanted gift - I took the cellophane off the box to smell it before I decided to give it away. I put the perfume in its box and then in one of the RM boxes, came to the Post Office. When a man at the counter asked me what’s inside, I honestly said that there is a perfume and Explained that it has been opened. He said that I can’t send it BECAUSE IT’S NOT IN THE ORIGINAL PACKAGING! Again, went to a different office, answered all the same questions with exactly the same answers, no problem sending it. Later I checked the RM policy and yes, you are not allowed to send perfumes in non-original packaging, meaning pouring them in different bottles etc. 3. A young lady told me that I’ll have Toby a £1.70 stamp to send a card second class UK - just a one piece cardboard with no envelope type of card (under 20g). I said surely, it used to cost less than a pound. She said that it can’t be right. I love that they have “no abuse or bullying” signs all over the branch. Maybe they should try to treat their customers that way?
Never have I come across someone as stubborn as Ashraf, the man who served me. To start, he seemed nice enough, but didn't seem to know how to process my orders as he was scanning the first one 5 times before getting to grips with it. I normally print my labels through Royal Mail's click an collect and I'm guessing he hadn't come across labels like them before. No biggie, I was patient enough... up until the time he started to process the first of my several international orders. He said it needed a customs label. I explained that on the website you do this and fill in the form as otherwise it won't allow you to proceed. The barcode that it generates has this information. He looked a bit perplexed and just repeated that they needed a customs label. I explained again about having done it online and he ignored me and continued by saying they still need a label. Reluctantly I had to fill in customs labels which takes time and the whole point of doing it online is to avoid this. It would be nice if your staff was briefed on how online labels work as sometimes it seems as though the staff have no idea of how to process things so they resort to repeat what they think is the correct way to proceed. I'm sorry to go full Karen over here but Jesus Christ! Why couldn't he just ask someone else? Avoid this man at all costs, he's annoying.
Worst experience at a post office ever! Don’t go here if you still want to feel self-worth after your visit from doing a post office errand!! Me and my friend both got served by a very rude lady who at one point was refusing to give back my parcel as she has already printed a return label and then went onto dismiss us and shoved us for someone else to deal with as she “does not want to deal with us” and because we were apparently “wasting her time”. Furthermore, she said she “could not be bothered” to explain to everyone in the line one of the issues that I was facing as I had told her she didn’t make me aware of this and if I had known prior all of this could have been prevented. But surely, as an individual who has been employed to work at a place where customer service is a top priority, this should be something she is bothered about? Alongside with all of this, I was spoken to with unnecessary attitude and felt very belittled, and if I’m honest it ruined my whole day after the encounter with this employee. Some people should be trained to speak to humans with decent respect, especially in this branch.
IF YOU ARE A TOURIST, I RECOMMEND NOT GOING TO THIS PLACE, much less going to ATTENDANTS RUTCH AND SARASH, I went to that post office to do a transfer test on my account in the morning with the attendant Ras she was very helpful and did her job perfectly without any problems ! When I first came into the store I got a lovely friendly welcome by Zarine/zarina, and for the rest of the my time in the post office she was really helpful, attentive, professional and never made feel like I was asking silly questions. I am not usually one to give feed back however Zarine went over and beyond to ensure I had all the the relevant information to make an informed decision about the package I was going to send. She was kind and compassionate, she seen the rain had made my make up smudge and offered me some tissue. As I packed my package I seen she excelled in communicating and managing other customers and made time to help her other colleagues. We need more people like her in the world. Her customer service really impressed me as did her patients with me. Lol Honestly I hope this gets back to her as i didn’t get to thank her enough. The branch is a nice one. It has many boxes and envelopes pens and papers to purchase if needed and even stations you can write on and couches to have a sit while waiting, all nice n organised.
I am writing this review on behalf of my sister. In March she ordered some items from Amazon to be collected there. The manager was very rude and refused to give her the parcels, claiming that she had not provided evidence even though she gave the GB and Amazon parcel reference numbers, and proof that a member of staff called Suresh had signed for the parcels. The rude manager smirked and claimed he would send the parcels back. My sister made a formal complaint to the Post Office who advised Pinfold St is a franchise and not a proper post office. So basically she would have to complain to the same rude manager which is pointless. A complaint was also raised with Amazon who confirmed parcels have not been returned so in short this manager there is a THIEF. Do not get parcels for collection there, because not every company is as courteous as Amazon and you will lose your money/items.
Went in to get my passport renewed, told me I had no choice but to pay for the paper form because of damage to the front cover. Paper form is £10 more expensive than the digital, plus also an extra nearly £10 in check and send fees and £5+ in photo fees. They also told me I need to get both my parents to sign my form even though I am nearly 30 years old. And that one of my photos had to be countersigned. I go home worrying about how I'm going to get all this sorted, go on to the Government website on passports, turns out I can renew even a damaged passport online and I don't have to worry about countersignatures. So the Post Office has literally tried to scam me out of extra money and gave me unreliable information. Do not advise for passport services, go online first.
Absolutely horrendous customer service. And by reading other reviews of this branch, it seems to be a recurring theme, maybe even with the same perpetrators. My wife went to return an item today and the Asian woman at the counter, around 30 years old, was absolutely rude. When my wife politely asked, "Wouldn't the old label of the parcel need to be covered?" The Asian woman snarkily replied, "This is my job. I do this every day! I know what I'm doing!" It's clear the staff at this branch do not priorise good customer service. Such rude behaviour. Was it because my wife was dressed in foreign clothes? Staff at this post office, learn respect.
The worst customer service I have ever experienced by Kully the 'manager' here. He told me to open up my parcel and as it needed to include another package, and then point black refused to seal it back up even though he had just sealed another ladys parcel for her. He then complained he was running around (doing his job) he was rude, stand offish, unhelpful and I am SHOCKED he is a manager here. He made me feel very uneasy and lacks the principles of basic customer service. I am shocked there are so many bad reviews yet they still continue to operate so vile. Imagine being that bothered about a piece of sellotape.
lousy.... lloyds bank told me they can accept bagged coins here. i always sort them into correct denominations, all these guys have to do is weigh them, then add them to my bank account.. guy who served me (after a 5 min wait) made every excuse in the book not to take the coins.. (when my bank is happy to do so)... there were a few older coins in the bags, but nothing major... then he starts questioning me (you've been here before right)? which i havent... it takes ages to save copper and silver coins, (my dad gives me them, too) god knows what his problem is... just dont go here guys, they dont give a damn.
I do not give a 0 in the review because it does not let me. the ladys are all rude and disrespectful, they had destroyed boxes on one side, which I used and even so they hinted that I had stolen them, they told me that I had to pay and I told them that I was not going to pay for something that was broken that I still did not They had to leave them there and that it was their mistake. I paid because I couldn't waste my time with that stupidity but they can't accumulate garbage and then expect the client to pay for it. horrible service.
This post office has loads of new features of a post office but sadly it doesn't ever seem to be able to cope with the high volume of people. Self service units work well but here are never enough staff about. Sadly this also means that place looks quite messy and the counter service is also slow. I've been here numerous times and it's always been the same. No sense of urgency. Suggestion: Use the Self Service instead of the counter. Often excess of 20 people waiting for the counter. Self service if your slow and methodical are easy.
I really can't praise the staff here enough! I came to renew a passport and having a medical condition it made having my photograph very difficult and obviously made me a little self conscious. Although Nadiene, working on the passport section was incredibly busy , she really went out of her way to support me , with the support of Suresh, a manager . I really can't thank you both enough , you both went above and beyond and the Post Office are truly lucky to have you as Staff . Thank you both again.
Staff were nice, but a self service post office!?! The tills are infuriating, are not intuitive and require the staff to take away the packages anyway. Mine and two other tills were demanding the attention of the poor staff member who was being run ragged. Felt really sorry for her. Tills made everyone's life more difficult, but I guess it's cheaper to run one staff member in to the ground than man the tills and have happy customers.
I have never been to this place without having problems, it should not be reliant on machines that don’t work and have to have staff run to them every 5 seconds. When trying to deal with a member of staff to get things done quicker and more efficiently I’m then just told to go to a machine. I understand that self service is great in a lot of places, and I use it more than staff in other places, but this place is mismanaged.
Today was my first visit, I can say I have never had such an amazing experience anywhere on my whole journey in the UK. Many thanks to Kully, Anne and Zarine who helped me a lot and I was so surprised that there are still amazing and kindhearted people in the world! I can not say how much they helped and supported me. Words can not express how grateful I am from them. Amazing experience. Thank you so much.
When you enter the General post office there is a number system so you know where you are in the order of what you are going there for, for example you want to weight a parcel, or buy stamps, filled an application for a driving licence. You can buy cards for birthdays, envelopes, pens, writing pads, etc. The staff are customer friendly. There are 2 entrances and easy accesses for people with disabilities.
Disgusting service! Needed to post something important. I asked the lady where the post box was, she said to just give it her and she would post it for me! Found out today that the important item I was posting never was received nor was it posted. This was three weeks ago. I feel really let down. There is important information in that package and now I have no idea what this girl has done with it!
I had a nightmare with posting a package to Germany which then got returned to Birmingham. Ras served me and was extremely helpful and I was able to repost my package with no hassle. It makes all the difference when the staff members are helpful and aim to serve members of the public as best as they can. Thank you Ras for turning a potential stressful situation into a pleasant transaction.
Appauled at the attitude of a female staff member,,who thought it was ok to embarrass my daughter who is a polite and upstanding member of the community! Manager apologetic, when I spoke to him the following business day! Thank you. If there is zero tolerants for customers, why do the female staff think that they can be rude to customers,?,... I also received a frosty welcome on arrival.
Post office is located by the town hall, You get a ticket number on arrival from the machine after you have selected the reason you are visiting. I went in this occasion to get some stamps from the display cabinet. They had the ones I wanted in stock They sometimes have better deals on the collectable coins that are available from the Royal Mint (worth having a look)
"We don't care" the Customer Service Advisor ACTUALLY said when I went to COLLECT my parcel that should have been DELIVERED three working days ago. The subsequent REDELIVERY I arranged has been totally IGNORED and when I visited this post office I was a advised of a 35 minute WAIT - Absolutely SHOCKING customer service. This company DO NOT deserve to be in business.
I faced considerable issues with this post office. Despite paying customs fees, my package went missing, and when I visited the post office, they insisted it wasn't there. Despite my repeated complaints, the staff's negligence led to my package being sent back to Germany. The service was frustratingly incompetent, and it left me extremely dissatisfied.
I gave the employee expired notes and NI notes. She counted them and told me there were £60 and when I was questioning it, she said: no £65. She counted them again and said £90. I counted them myself but at this point, I was doubting the honesty of your employee. I counted it and there were £90… but I was now doubting if any notes were missing…
There are so many people in the queue that it takes forever for me to post stuff or even buy things from this branch. What are the staff thinking at this office when only 2 counters are open yet there are 6 in the whole post office itself?! Sort it out and stop making people wait so long to do basic things as its not fair on us your customers.
I’ve got nothing but good things to say and compliments to the staff. I know it was a quieter day but even so, the lady helping this idiot male was patient and attentive. Very professional. The shop was easy to find on Google and obvious at street level. They seem to have everything organised and sufficient staff. Well done team!
This place is normally busy yet it is quite efficiently managed with the help of ticketing system. The staff is easily available for assistance and they have sufficient information to assist each customer. Comprehensive range of services usually fulfill all type of customer needs. The best post office in Birmingham city centre.
Got there near the end of the closing hour on a very busy Sunday to return my Amazon item, Ruth and Ras, the two staff there, were very helpful, patient and professional. The queue was long and it was the end of Saturday’s working shift, but they were still friendly and didn’t make me feel rushed at all. 5 stars
It was a pleasant experience with Zarine from Birmingham Post Office. I am a tourist and my first time have to deal with delivering a package. Zarine helped me almost everything. I am so thankful to Zarine. She has a kind heart and her customer service was top notch. Thank you Zarine A tourist from Malaysia
I dont have to beg to get my money through job centre that sent by letter. The staff checked my id twice as if i was a lier. Didnt even make me speak to the manager. Just stood there looking at me. I find it strange when the staff dont want give good service or treat people with respect.
Went in today to renew both my Driving Licence and my Passport. Couldn't believe just how smoothly the friendly staff at Pinfold Street Crown Post Office made this process, especially as I has been anxious to get these tasks done as soon as possible. I shall definitely go there again!
Staff need re-training. One of our customers took a Freepost return to them over the weekend which they wouldn't except as per no barcode! Made her feel embarrassed! You do not need a barcode, we pay for a yearly licence for our Freepost address! Complaint made to the post office.
We would like to specifically thank Eid for his superb customer service. He went above and beyond to ensure our parcel of presents was packaged and sent, kindly gifting us a bag and pen that fit our parcel after we purchased the wrong bag. He was extremely helpful and generous.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Post Office on Pinfold Street in Birmingham and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. The level of customer service was exceptional from start to finish. The staff were polite, friendly, and incredibly helpful with all my queries.
Suresh was absolutely wonderful and super helpful! He helped with my driving licence renewal and ensured the process was smooth and seamless! Thank you for being you Suresh! It makes such a difference to deal with such a professional! Have a fab Xmas and new year. Manjit
Ash is the most friendly and helpful person I’ve ever dealt with at this branch. Nice to meet people with manners, who go that extra mile to help customers send their parcels in the best and secure way, at a good price! Thank you Ash, keep up the great customer service.
I went in to exchange some currency, but found out that the rates on display are for sums greater than £1000; the actual rate for (normal) lower sums turned out to be more expensive than anywhere else (I checked two banks and TUI also). Talk about public service. .
Have used the post office many times and each time i have managed to be insulted by a member of staff assuming i am incompetent or alternatively being unable to help when asked. The queues are always long and there are often people just hanging around in there.
Nadiene was super great in assisting me with the local parcel delivery, international stamps for post card and a claim form in case my 1st class parcel sent 3 days ago, was not yet attempted for delivery ( fingers crossed ) Devendra from Trinidad …
Went in and needed to take in parcels, apply for IDL and SIA badge and buy some foreign currency. Saw a lady called Maz who was so friendly and helpful. Not like the usual disinterested service I receive elsewhere. She is a credit to the organisation.
This post office was good before not now. Staff let people push in the queue. Even when you have a ticket waiting for your number to be called. After staff letting people push in the queue I will not be going back here out of order!!!!!
I was helped by Eid at the Birmingham post office! He was amazingly helpful and very patient especially considering I had way over 10 parcels going to all different destinations and had to come in on a busy Saturday morning!
Ras was amazing , best service. Very efficient professional and knew everything. Made sure I was attended too and solved my query straight away. More staff like Ras would make every company number 1. Best service till date.
Nothing to complain about. I went to this post office on a Saturday afternoon. It's located in the Birmingham city centre. It wasn't too busy so everything was quite quick. The staff I met was really nice and helpful.
Couldn't get the hang of the self service and was in a muddle. However, a very helpful member of staff came to the rescue. If this branch has half as many as helpful staff then they will be doing great. Cheers, Del
Staff are pretty nice but they've closed the self service section meaning everything is now counter service. Be prepared to wait. Unfortunate that it's gone downhill - dread any return that has to go back by post!
horrific customer service. middle aged blonde lady served me today and was so rude, she obviously just couldn’t be bothered and would rather get on with chatting with colleagues. unprofessional service
Nadiene at Birmingham city centre Po went out of her way to help me post parcels with unreadable postcode she looked them up for me to make sure they went to correct address with a lovely smile too
The staff are always very helpful and upbeat despite how hard it must be working there. I would especially like to mention Nick Carroll and Ruth who were peerless examples of professionalism.
Raz K was really helpful in the Pinfold St. Post Office today. She steered me in the right direction with my parcel and cards, and was thoroughly efficient and friendly. Thank you!
Pleasant transaction , nice people and i appreciate their work ethic. Sometimes it is super busy and I hope the management gives the staff the recognition for their hard work.
I went to the Post Office on Pinfold Street in Birmingham on the 18/11/2023. Great work by the staff. Really kind and helpful, I received help to finish packaging my parcel.
Really lovely manager I think his name was Kully? He really helped me send my parcel over last Christmas and I really appreciate his time. Fantastic branch and very clean.
Very busy. Not too long wait. Comfortable seating. Great service by staff member Eid. Run a business so had a lot to do at the counter. Very competent member of staff
I usually hesitate to visit the post office because of unhelpful staff, my recent visit changes my mind. Very friendly and helpful! Thank you Zarine. You are a star!
Open 9-6 when everyone is at work!! So annoying that you have to queue all lunch hour or hopefully get seen prior to 6 o'clock close. Why aren't they open earlier?
Eid was very helpful despite the amount of people in the shop. He was managing 3-5 people at a time effectively. Thanks again mate would of struggled without you
Ruth was outstanding. Very professional and patient as I waiting for a renewal of my provisional license. I think people like her are gold to this service!
Zanne really went above & beyond for me around 12:30pm Tues 12 Dec, when I totally messed up trying to send two parcels at a self service till. Thank you!!
Bit of a wait for some stamps until one of the staff pointed out the new self service machines, brilliant! Select on screen and it just prints them out.
Had couple problems sending back my drivers license. Suresh attended to me and make sure I got it right!! Excellent customer service suresh …
It was a super smooth experience. We were helped out by Zarine who helped with my international parcel. She was super helpful. Thank you soo much
Had over 27 items to be posted EID was very pleasant and patient, and gave conversation throughout, thanks again for your good customer service.
