I originally started seeing Carlos for FST during a particularly hard training phase under the advisement family friend. I figured a good stretch never hurt anyone so I would give it a try. I quickly realized that Carlos’s skills far surpassed all of my expectations! On my first session Carlos pointed out that I had very flat feet. This is something I had been plagued with my entire life and had simply accepted the fact that it would never change. After roughly 15 minutes of stretching and manipulating me to my astonishment I stood up for find that arches had miraculously appeared. I was completely blown away that this was even possible but this was only the beginning of the transformation of my mobility. Over the next few session not only where my extremely sore and tight muscles taking care of but I found myself being able to move in ways I never had before! I have had bad knees for years as a result of a motorcycle crash and lived with constant tightness and soreness witch made training legs especially uncomfortable. After seeing Carlos several times my knee pain is completely gone and I find I am able to squat much deeper, run much farther and train legs harder then ever before. It has been and incredible experience being able to work with Carlos over the past few months I can honestly say he has changed my life if ways I never though possibly. I would absolutely encourage anyone that is thinking about trying FST to contact Carlos and prepare yourself to move like never before.
I have been working out with Norm at Body and Soul for almost 6 years. I was looking for a way to get active and after my assessment with Norm I knew that I would benefit from this personal trainer. I also had some chronic issues with my neck and back. Norm designed workouts for me that accommodated my issues but kept me progressing. I was toning my body and increased my range of motion, especially in my neck. In 2013 I had a motor vehicle accident that set me back. When I was ready to get back to the gym, Norm did a better assessment of my status than the physiotherapist that I had been seeing. We got back to work getting me back on track. However, I was still having issues with my neck and back and had given up on physiotherapy. Norm suggested that I try a new physiotherapist who had just joined Body and Soul. That’s when I began to see Scott. Scott was able to determine the cause of my stiffness and pain and used techniques to improve this. My neck was “cured” after about 2 sessions. My back is more chronic. He assessed the workouts that I had been doing with Norm and suggested some revisions. Norm incorporated more low abdominal work into my workout which Scott suggested would provide more support for my lower back. Well it works. With my continued visits to Scott for my chronic back issues and the progressive strengthening of my lower abdominal muscles with Norm’s workout, I am in much better shape than I have been since the accident.
I started to work with Ayush shortly before my 51st birthday. My biggest concern was my fear when picking my granddaughter up off the floor or carrying her up and down stairs. I had issues with my shoulders and knees and was worried that I would stumble or something would give out while she was in my arms. Ayush performed a mobility assessment with me and started my work outs off slowly to build and strengthen problem areas. As my strength and mobility increased, Ayush challenged me with progressively more difficult moves. What I appreciated the most about working with Ayush was his attention to detail. He would demonstrate every new exercise while clearly explaining what I need to be concentrating on and he would not hesitate to demonstrate it as often as needed until he was confident that I had it. While training, Ayush would keep a close watch on proper form to ensure I kept injure free and received maximum results. His constant and enthusiastic encouragement prompted me to push harder and challenge myself further. In the three years I have been working with Ayush, I have accomplished things I never thought possible. I now have a grandson added to my life and I never worried while carrying him up or down the stairs. I have seen my strength, my endurance and my mobility increase far beyond expectations.
I’ve been training with Julius since July of this year. I’ve never had a personal trainer before and wasn’t really sure what to expect. I knew I wanted to lose weight, but more importantly I wanted a change in lifestyle. From the moment I signed up and had my first session with Julius, I started getting excited about exercise and changing my eating habits. Although I was self conscious at first, Julius and his team made me feel really comfortable and confident in achieving my goals. He knew I liked boxing and so he incorporated it in my weekly sessions. He also knows I love wine and so he makes me work extra hard when I have my week moments. He motivates me and challenges me and listens to my feedback. The best part is I not only lost 15 lbs, I continue to have fun and feel better about myself. Signing up with Body and Soul Fitness and having Julius as my trainer is the best thing I’ve done for myself in a long time. I highly recommend this gym, especially Julius - you guys rock!
I joined this gym specifically to work with a trainer to help me reach my goals and more importantly to learn proper technique. I have been training with Daniel since May 2017 and as someone who was somewhat new to the gym, he made me feel at ease and comfortable while introducing me to things I would otherwise have found intimidating to try on my own...such as the squat rack. The programs Daniel has designed for me have not only given me results, but have helped me to address some of my ankle mobility issues. He has been a great motivator and works to push me out of my comfort zone with a great sense of humour!. One thing I do really appreciate is his attention to his clients, not just during the "paid" sessions. He genuinely wants to see people succeed and has been great at being flexible with me when my schedule has been crazy to ensure I can get in to see him. I would certainly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a trainer.
I started training with Ayush in March 2016 to get in shape for a friend’s wedding. The wedding has come and gone, but fitness has remained a part of my daily life and I’m grateful it has. I used to look at each session as a chore, but due to Ayush’s encouragement- this is not the case anymore. I now look forward to each workout, and find myself excited to meet the challenges that are set in front of me at the gym. Ayush has a vast knowledge of his profession. He helps me reach my goals by setting short and long term plans that are easy to follow. He has also helped me reach realistic nutrition and weight loss goals. Although I still find the workouts incredibly challenging, Ayush pushes me to test my limits without pushing too hard and knows when those limits have been reached. I highly recommend Ayush to anyone looking to try out personal training, he is very good at what he does and I feel fortunate to train with him.
Body and soul fitness is a great small gym! All the equipment is very well taken care of, and everything is high-end. There are lots of squat racks, tons of plates, dumbbells, cardio, and regular machines to do every exercise you want. The gym also has a turf area to do movement exercises or to foam roll on which is nice. I went to the gym during covid, so you had to book your time slot online ahead of when you went. It was easy and made sure the gym was never busy. The gym never had over 3 people when I went which great because I could use any piece of equipment without having to wait. They also provided a towel and cleaner to wipe down equipment after use, so everything stayed clean. John the manager and the other staff are super helpful and will help you with anything you need. Overall, the gym had a really friendly atmosphere, and I always got a good workout in.
After trying their Eglinton location and being absolutely repulsed, I decided to give this location a try as it's closer to my work. Upon walking in, you're immediately hit with an awful stench of body odour. You make your way to the change room and the floors, benches, sinks and showers are filthy. You quickly change your clothes careful not to touch anything and enter the gym floor. The equipment feels sticky to the touch because of sweat and God knows what else that hasn't been wiped in ages. Forget about doing weights because there's always some trainer with their clients taking up all the space completely ignorant of your presence. As a member paying upwards of $200 a month for a membership and training sessions, the least you can expect is some respect on the floor never mind general cleanliness. I'm taking my business elsewhere.
I have been seeing Scott Symonds who is a registered physiotherapist working out of the Leslie Body and Soul for a couple of years and I have referred friends to him. He is quite honestly amazing. He is very good at figuring out what is going on where other physios and allied professionals have failed. He is incredibly good at developing a treatment plan and tenacious in his commitment to really making a difference. The fact that he works out of Body and Soul means that, when appropriate, you can use the equipment and space there to complement his hands on treatment. Scott is charming , personable, and professional. Mostly I am grateful for the enormous improvement in my physical health and his commitment to seeing my full recovery.
Body & Soul is a small and cozy gym with friendly and highly competent staff. Every trainer will eventually learn your name and help you out, even if you come for a solo session. The equipment is new, and the floor is never crowded. I believe the other reviewer works for a competing business - I don't know about the odors on the day he came in, but the equipment is definitely new and well cleaned and maintained - so that part of that review is clearly a lie. Also, the only two pieces of information on that profile are two negative reviews of Body & Soul - no other personal info. I highly recommend getting either a personal trainer or membership at Body & Soul. Before you do, walk onto the floor and check the equipment for yourself.
Ben and Carlos at Body + Soul are first class. The facility is top notch, too. I travel a lot for work, and I'm staying at the Westin Prince on York Mills Road for this trip. Travel tends to kill my ability to do Crossfit WODs, and the Westin is no exception. The claustrophobic Westin Workout room just doesn't cut it. I looked for a box nearby and checked out Rev MMA. The facility, price and available times just didn't compare to Body + Soul. If you are in the habit of doing your own WODs, or if you want a personal trainer to get you started, Body + Soul is ideal. Good racks, bars, bumpers, kettlebells and a clean, well-lit space made my day at Body + Soul. I'm a repeat customer for sure.
I've been training at Body and Soul for 3 months and i have to say I'm impressed! The equipment here is great by my standards (i used to train in my school's weight room where i only had access to a power rack and a few machines and a couple plates) The free weights, Power racks, and machines are all high quality and are very clean. the staff here are incredibly friendly. There are plenty of cable attachments and cable machines. there's usually only a couple people in the gym at a time which is great because you never need to wait to use equipment. All in all great gym for it's price, definitely recommend.
I've been working out at Body and Soul for the past 10 months. The gym equipment here is pretty good, there are free weights, power racks, and all types of high-quality machines of a high quality and gym is EXTREMELY clean and well maintained, no matter when you go day or night. The staff here are incredibly friendly and polite. There are only ever a couple people in the gym at a time, which is great because you won’t have to wait for long periods of time to use equipment. The only downside for me was the lack of exercise classes, like spin or aerobics. I would highly recommend this gym.
I loved this location. I would have continued to go, if I had not moved away. The gym was always clean and in excellent shape. The hours are great too. Another thing I really enjoyed about this location and gym is that when I signed up, they did not try to sell me a fitness plan or get me to sign up with a trainer. This is one thing I really dreaded about gyms, and have stopped me several times from signing up. At my sign up, they quickly got me my fob and gave me a tour and let me go workout. Overall a great experience and i highly recommend this gym.
Very nice boutique gym with courteous staff and patrons. Mike is a great trainer, very knowledgeable and professional. He helps my parents to achieve their goals with a supportive and resourceful approach. Even my dad who seldom workout comes back with a lovely smile every time after attending the training session. The monthly fee and personal training are on the high side, considering there is no group class or a pool. If you like a small gym with less patrons and don’t mind to pay, this is a good option in the neighbourhood.
I have been with Greg as my personal trainer at Body and Soul Fitness since August of last year. He is very knowledgeable and flexible in designing a workout program to achieve my goals. He spends the time to develop proper technique and is very attentive to details…almost a bit of a perfectionist but in a good and motivating way. I highly recommend Greg as a personal trainer. The Leslie location is a great facility with many equipment options. Never busy/crowded. I prefer this over the larger, more commercial gyms out there.
Competitive boxer who’s teamed up with Julius to help me get me and my body back into shape for the ring. Julius and I have been working very hard the last couple weeks, he’s very knowledgeable , attentive , showing me benifical excersizes and stretches that have my body feeling brand new. Julius has everything you want in a trainer, and I would most definitely recommend him to anybody looking to make change and needs that extra body to help motivate them.
Love this gym! It is very clean and the staff are welcoming to newcomers of all different fitness levels. I’ve been training with Vicki for about 9 months now and have had only great experiences. She is extremely encouraging and her workout plans are suited to meet my needs and goals. I would definitely recommend Vicki as a personal trainer to anyone looking for some great motivation and personalized workouts.
Ayush knows the body - it's processes and limitations - better than any trainer I've had. He successfully redesigned his training program to help me work through several self-inflicted injuries and kept me going when I wanted to back off. Besides being very hardworking (and making me work hard) he's also funny and interesting to talk with. I look forward to every session with him. Thanks Ayush.
This is a great small gym. Equipment is well maintained, they have some top end machines and recently upgraded to even better ones. Even when it’s busy, there are always machines free and plenty of place for everyone to train. All of the members are very friendly to eachother. This place is really clean and staff are helpful. The only disadvantage for me was they do not do any gym classes here
I've been working out at Body + Soul Fitness Leslie 3x a week for 3 years! It's always clean, tons of equipment, the perfect size, not too many people. The trainers are knowledgeable and friendly. I've been training with Scott Cliff for over a year, he's kept me motivated and helped me take my fitness to the next leveI. I always look forward to our sessions. It's great to be back at the gym!
My new gym!! Switched over from goodlife and haven’t looked back since. Lovely staff, it’s always super clean and I love the windows that add natural light! They have everything I need and more for an amazing workout. Great access to parking and super close to the highway. I’m sad they’re closed during corona but you better believe I’ll be right back there when they open!
Was a member at this gym for a long time. Very overpriced with below average equipment and barely any machines. Trainers are always in the way and taking up ridiculous amount of space sometimes reserving equipment they are not even using! I would not recommend this gym for the high price to equipment and god awful person training i personally would never pay for.
There’s not many nice gyms in the area that allow day passes, so knowing this was a member’s only gym I decided to give them a call to see if they would sell one to me, and luckily they did! The gym is super clean and spacious, and has literally everything you could need! If I lived in Toronto I would deff be a member here.
Amazing gym. John (manager) and the entire team always greet me with a smile. Very friendly staff but not over bearing. Towels and equipment are always fresh and clean. It’s very quiet noon-4pm during the weekdays. Very busy 5-8pm during the weekdays. Scott Symonds is their onsite physio and he’s worth every penny.
I really do love this place, it's my second home in the city for sure. Fun and challenging classes, top notch instructors and facilities. Being a member here, I've seen results in my energy levels, in how fit and toned I am, and how motivated I am to stay active and healthy because I just want to keep coming back.
I have been doing personal training sessions with Vicky at Body and Soul for 2 months. The gym is always spotlessly clean and is a welcoming place for a workout. I highly recommend Vicki as a trainer - she is experienced, knowledgeable, motivating and always sporting an encouraging smile.
Started my fitness journey last November and the results are superb. Thanks to the help of my trainer, PJ. He made sure that I will be able to reach my fitness goals and helped me a lot all throughout my journey. I highly recommend PJ! The gym has the best location and equipments too.

Amazing facility with top of the line staff. This gym has a “community” type of feel to it which I truly enjoy. I had to cancel my membership because the commute was pretty long but if I was in the area, this would definitely be my spot!
If you are looking for a customized training program with a caring but focused personal trainer, ask for Aran. I had a major car accident in the summer of 2022, and Aran has been a great support in my road to recovering from my injuries.

I have the best trainer here that I’ve ever had. All the trainers seem very good. It’s a very friendly community gym and has meant so much to me for the past 15 years since I moved to this neighbourhood.
Small gym, never crowded, and equipment is always available. Friendly staff. Contrary to the other reviewer, I never found the gym or change rooms dirty. Overall, the facilities are well maintained.
Ayush is motivating and keeps you on track! Great personality and has great knowledge in training. I have increased my fitness levels and have become stronger since I have been working with him.

It's the perfect home gym away from home. It's small, clean and cozy. They need another set of KBs, but other than that, they have everything to crush a good workout.
