Extra friendly, love the feel of this place. I walked in and it was a bit busy but I felt well cared for. I watched as they greeted regular after regular (always a great sign) and new customers who by the way we're treated so well (I'm sure that many of those decided they want to be regulars too.) The pour over was delicious, my server who made it, gave me a coffee which was tasty and enjoyable, I suppose some of that was the bean and roast, but she also knew how to pour a good brew, timing matters! I had one of the last pastries, I didn't expect much but realized that they also just had a huge rush as it was still quite fresh. I had a drip coffee to go a little later and it was also fresh and tasty. Super friendly, I felt better leaving than when I entered. I will always go here when I'm in the neighborhood!

Best coffee on Southport- and we’ve tried it all! All served up by delightful baristas who seems genuinely happy to see you. Admittedly, I live around the corner so proximity helps, but we are here at least once a week. Only nits - Decor feels like a Halloween atmosphere which works in October but isn’t ideal for the other 11 months. Less skeletons, please. Also, I wish they still had better pastries or more variation in the breakfast options. But, it is a coffee shop. And the coffee is great! (Starbucks folks - Just stop and give this a try. Worth the extra $1.)

I am always here with at least 1, sometimes three or more children. There is space to roam and they are sweet to them.

My group and I we’re looking for a coffee spot as a midday pick me up before heading back to the suburbs and this cute cafe came up nearby. It was a group of 8 of us celebrating my birthday and as we walked in Giuseppe asked us what the occasion was. It was my birthday and they immediately said my drink was on the house. I wasn’t expecting that but it was such a kind gesture!! They made me whiskey cold brew and it was delicious!!! They even gave me a leftover shot of whiskey and played “happy birthday” on their speakers & had the whole place sing me happy birthday. What a wonderful experience! All my friends had such a great time and Giuseppe took a cute group pic of us before we left! Thank you Kyle, Leonardo, and Giuseppe for making me feel so special. We hope to visit back the next time we are in the city!!

Coffee here is high quality and the staff is nice. $5 for 3 tiny macaroons was pricey, but can't say I'm surprised. My biggest complaint is likely what they pride themselves on: in-house roasting right at the counter. Beans were roasting throughout our visit which meant the entire place smelled like something was burning and it was quite loud. This may be a good tradeoff for those who truly need coffee fresh off the roaster, but for normal people this is a nuisance (not a selling point). I'd be happier drinking coffee from a large supplier but enjoying my morning in peace.

This place is amazing in every aspect! First of all the people who work there. Joseph is very friendly and knowledgeable and it shows from the moment you walk in. We ordered a pour over coffee and he demonstrated how to prepare it correctly and explained every single step so we can try this at our own. We also purchased a bag of freshly roasted beans there to enjoy them at home. This was the best coffee we've made in a while! Secondly, the drinks and food. We loved everything we got! And last but not least the cafe itself. You can see that it's a well loved, warm and creative space. Love the art! In conclusion if you love good coffee, friendly people and supporting local and family business, be sure to check out Bombastic Cafe!

A great neighborhood coffee shop with one of a kind atmosphere. You’ll quickly fall in love with the playful decor and find fun little surprises throughout the shop. My go to is a caramel latte although you really can’t go wrong with any of the drinks on the menu. Have yet to try the food but that just gives me an excuse to go back!

Lovely cafe in the Southport Corridor! They have a really nice coffee selection AND non-dairy milks (which is always a plus). We stopped in on a whim one evening to grab a cup of coffee to help warm up our hands while out for a walk. I got a latte with oat milk! Yum! They even have a full bar that you can spike your coffee with!! I look forward to visiting again post-pandemic when I can spend some more time inside and relax. Definitely glad Bombastic is part of the neighborhood.

Awesome little coffee shop! They had just about every drink under the sun. I wanted a matcha latte, but they were fresh out of matcha, so I went with a (vegan) chai latte. We also got a jasmine tea. Both were wonderful and the staff were very friendly.

Coffee was okay, very bitter. I didn't try any specialty drinks, maybe that's their strong suit, to cover up the bitter coffee taste. I do want to criticize the pastry storage. It's on display right next to the payment without any coverage. I don't know how much saliva might've gotten onto them because that's where the order takes place.

So glad I popped in here while waiting on my car being serviced around the corner(ish) at Ashland Tire. Great selection of really creative beverage options, super friendly staff, and nice space with local art. Love that they have fun cocktails in addition to traditional coffee goodness. My chai latte was delightful! Definitely a keeper!

This place is adorable, and they have the BEST cold brew in the city in my opinion. This coffee shop is the best in the neighborhood. It serves as a beautiful art gallery as well as a fantastic cafe. Giuseppe at the front counter is the true definition of fantastic customer experience. He was so helpful and made everybody feel welcome. Serving coffee with a smile and we will definitely be back because of him!

I love this place so much!!!! The people here are the friendliest baristas ever who always take the time to ask you about your day and go the extra mile in making your drinks. A super chill place to study with lots of sunlight, art on the wall, and big tables to work at. A gem to find and a regular study spot for me!

Bombastic checks all the boxes. First, it’s the only place in the city that I know of where you can get booze in your coffee. The baristas are friendly and knowledgeable, but never condescending or pretentious despite the level of care they put into making the drinks special. What more could you want? Cheers!

Good coffee, great service and vibe. Wifi is available if you ask, and the indoor and patio seating are both nice places to just chill, read, and enjoy a pastry. Bombastic was my go-to coffee joint when I lived nearby, and their beans are always good (and available for purchase to take home a bag).

I love this place so much!! I haven't found another cafe who serves macadamia milk which was a super exciting find. The staff is so friendly + helpful and I love that I have the option to dine in so I can sit and study. I feel like this is definitely a hidden gem, I will continue coming here!

I didn't like my visit. The music was way too loud, my coffee was subpar, and they did a lot of small things wrong (e.g, not having napkins available for customers). It 100% seems like a landlord had unrented property and said "screw it, let's slap together a coffee shop so I can break even."

This place is great. The baristas are very kind and easy to talk to and our coffees are always perfect. It’s just a straightforward neighborhood coffee shop. No frills - which I appreciate! We’ll continue to come back and would encourage everyone to support this spot and their staff.

Best coffee I had in Chicago hands down ( it was latte). They roast their own coffee and the baristas knew what they were doing unlike many other places I been too here in Chicago. Highly recommend if u want the perfect cup of coffee. Also the Vibes are nice and chill inside.

I'll start with 'WoW' the guys working here we're extremely calm and attentive. The service and engagement was more like a 5 star restaurant than a small coffee shop. This is definitely how a small business stays in business by having great people and hospitable service
