I just had a terrible experience at Bond Vet East Village. Perhaps I am wrong but I thought other pet owners should have this information when they choose where to bring their pet for care. I have been taking my cat to a different animal hospital for 12 years for her physicals and other medical needs. I decided to try out the Bond Vet several years ago because they are in the neighborhood and closer. They were fine but now a chronic condition my cat suffers from requires me to bring her back to the Animal Medical Center for all her care. I made an appointment for my cat to have her claws clipped at Bond Vet East Village this morning. We have done this several other times in the past year. I was called into the exam room and a vet who told me she was the director of Bond Vet East Village informed me that they would have to do a complete physical in order to clip her claws. When I objected I was told this was mandated by New York State law. She then walked that back and stated it was either Bond Vet corporate policy or covered by some medical guidelines. She was not sure. When I arrived at Bond Vet East Village I gave them the original paperwork for my cat's latest rabies vaccine in May (2023) from the Animal Medical Center. In addition, I informed the vets and other personnel that my cat just had her complete physical at the Animal Medical Center in May (two months ago). I left with my cat before she was examined by the Bond Vet East Village because I do not want to pay hundreds of dollars to get her claws clipped and have my pet receive unnecessary medical work. My elderly cat was put through stress for nothing today. Perhaps I am in the wrong. You decide where you want to take your pet for care. I am done with this company. Perhaps I would not be so upset if they told me we can not clip your cats claws because she had her last exam at the Animal medical Center and not here. They seemed anxious to make their money and it felt like a bait and switch.
This is the first time I am writing a negative review, that’s how bad this place treated me and my cat. This is the worst veterinary group I have ever been to. Extremely shady. They purposefully didn’t treat my cat and let him continue being sick so that I would have to come in again for another appointment (so they would double charge). I had told them he hadn’t finished a full round of antibiotics (I had only a bit left over from a previous stomach issue) and that he needed the full course, and to please provide me with the medication. Instead, they just gave me probiotics and said that if his diarrhea persisted, that they could call in the antibiotic for me. That was a lie. When it persisted and I asked for the prescription, they said I had to come in for another exam (over $100), in addition to bloodwork abdominal radiographs and fecal PCR testing (likely several hundreds of dollars, if not more). I instead took him to the Emergency Veterinary Group at midnight, and they quickly were able to provide me with antibiotics and my cat is now better. I wasted hundreds of dollars for probiotics that a) I could have gotten myself and b) did not work. BondVet is an unethical, scamming, and fraudulent place! Do not bring your pet there! They will let your pet continue to suffer and try to convince you to let your pet undergo unnecessary tests just to make more money!
Bond is good if you want your dog to get vaccinations or medicines. However, they are terrible if your dog is seriously injured or sick. I brought my dog in because it wasn't eating or drinking for 3 days straight. The vet ran an X-ray and told me that "there's a good chance theres something block its foodway to its stomach and that it was urgent and to take it an animal hospital". She also told me that surgery would most likely be needed. So basically, I spent $850, to have an evaluation and an X-ray to be told to go to a specialist because they're unsure of what the problem is. After that, I went to an animal hospital in which I spent $2,000 on fluids, medicines, and another Xray. After they took the second X-ray they told me theres nothing "blocking" his stomach and it's either pancreatitis or a bacterial infection. They then gave me super basic medicines for my dog to take. Moral of the story, Bonds vet misdiagnosed my dog, made me panic in thinking my dog was potentially going to die, and made me spend over $2,500 for a vague consultation. Again, if you need simple medicines or a routine check up sure, go here. But if your dog is severely sick, avoid this place at ALL COST.
Very gentle and kind staff. And very clean facility. Close to stuytown/pcv. They gave me time to talk about my cats behaviors and histories and really listened before they just jumped in and started to assess. They weren’t judgmental about my decision to house my non fiv cat with my fiv+ cat and seemed to be up to date on the research regarding this decision. They did offer to test my other cat for fiv which i declined because it really wont change anything and is just an additional expense for me, but they were respectful and understanding of my decision. Definitely expensive, but got a first time discount and wouldn’t expect it to be any cheaper anywhere else in manhattan. And in their defense the cats needed shots and labs which is always pricey! I am always careful to look at reviews… specifically how a business responds to reviews and I noticed Bond Vet responds respectfully and apologetically to negative reviews instead of becoming defensive like I see in many other business reviews. Props to them! Thanks Bond Vet for the great Vet experience! I am very happy with our experience!
I took my dog here for emergency care and was very satisfied with the vet who initially examined him however, it went downhill from there. No one called to follow up on him. I had to contact them several times to get blood results and was told they could not discuss them with me that only the vet could give them to me. This required several calls and after complaining I finally received a call from the vet advising me she had released the blood results for posting the day before and they should’ve been given to me. In addition, to add insult to injury I received an email saying that I had missed my follow up appointment. No follow up appointment had ever been scheduled because it was agreed at the time of the initial visit that the vet would get back to me to discuss the blood results so we could plan what the next steps would be. All in all, when you have a pet who is in pain from an unknown source, and you are anxious to help them and find the cause of this source Bond Vets care was completely unprofessional and unacceptable.
I know. I was skeptical too. Is this place any good? They probably over charger if they have that much advertising. I’m very happy to say that none of that is true! The team was VERY professional and friendly. The vet clearly new what she was talking about and explained everything too me. The rest of the staff was extremely friendly and excited to see my kitty. The prices where the same as any other vet. The only difference than a regular vet is that this place is supper ease to scedual an appointment and the visits go so fast! I felt heard and like my cat was properly looked at yet the whole ordeal took no time at all. Lastly there their facilities are exactly as described. With thought full touches like a good book to read while you wait (which isn’t long). The place looks like it jumped out of an Instagram feed except the people behind it actually hold quality.
Cannot speak more highly of this vet. Wow. We came in with Roo because we felt our old vet was looking to turnover patients as quickly as possible and lacked a lot of compassion when it came to handling our dog. BondVet is completely different. The staff were excited to welcome us, were incredibly focused on making Roo comfortable and giving us earnest and informed advice. The vet and vet tech went through everything top to bottom and we’re in no rush to get away until we understood everything. Roo was hesitant at the start of the appointment but because the vet was so accommodating, he quickly warmed up and was excited to have his checkup. A really lovely experience and we’ll be back next time we need anything!
Booked an appointment with a new customer rate of $25 for the exam only to be charged $125 by the end of the 15 minute appointment. When I asked about the price difference I was told "We stopped doing that deal 2 days ago." I had booked the appointment the day prior. I had to take my pet home but called later to clear it up and was given a refund the next day, but they are still advertising the promotion. The vet staff was lovely. Dr. Katz took great care of my pet and they were extremely professional and caring - but as a college student, a quadruple increase in price at the office isn't doable. If the regular exam price is affordable for you, I recommend them, but I will not be returning.
Bond vet is amazing. The atmosphere, the bedside manner… it’s all lovely. I always feel well taken care of. Having a sick pet is so insanely stressful but the wonderful people at Bond make it as good as possible. It is on the expensive side and it usually takes a while. But frankly that’s probably because the bedside manner is so good and they take time to answer all questions. I have had previous vets who mocked me for googling my pet’s symptoms. “Oh yes, go consult Dr. google”. The vets at Bond would never belittle a client like that. Dr. Sarah Zalinsky was so kind. Bond is now my permanent vet office. Plus they are open late and on weekends. Worth every penny.
I asked the price before I visited with my dog for an international health certificate and was told it cost 120.00. After the visit ( which took less than 10 minutes) I was presented for a bill for double that for 245.00. One charge for the exam and one to fill out the certificate. And what kept the live operator on the phone, BEFORE the appointment, from telling me the full charges? The tech told me it was a "miscommunication" - that I would have to pay for. I refused as I am a senior on fixed income. The doctor was unhelpful and refused to write in the exam notes that my dog was healthy for international travel. BEWARE - NOT TRANSPARENT ON PRICING.
This was my first time at Bond Vet, I was referred to them by my current vet as it was urgent to see someone today and my usual had no openings. I was very happy with everything from service to the location. They took great care of my cat, the receptionist was very kind and welcoming and the waiting area and private rooms are comforting and modern. During the exam everything was very clearly explained to me with multiple options. I did not feel pressured to pursue a treatment plan but was presented with every option. Overall had a great experience and if they were closer I would probably choose them as my primary veterinarian.
I originally selected Bond Vet due to convenience of access, but after my first visit, I couldn't be happier with my choice. The Dr., the Techs, the Administrator and the set-up of the clinic are great, and work toward welcoming both the pet and parent. They genuinely love animals, and manage to keep the place looking and smelling clean despite the many visitors. Always, working to keep the animals needs met, and the pet parent informed. This is not hype, and this was on the first visit. I also liked that they were conscious of my costs, and kept me informed as we went. It is a win for me.
Highly recommend. We loved our previous vet, and when we moved we were scared to try some place new. Bond Vet is close to our new apartment, so we tried them out. Since taking our beagle Carl to Bond Vet, we’ve been very pleased and are equally appreciative. Everyone from the staff at the front desk who check you in with one hand and hand out treats with the other, to the nurses who among other things miraculously cut growly Carl’s nails, to the vets who thoroughly explain each procedure and its potential outcomes without scaring you, everyone there provides great care.
I took my puppy in for his first ever vet visit, I called to make my appointment and they were able to fit me in the next day. I was impressed as soon as I walked in it was very clean and inviting. Each person I spoke to was extremely helpful, and Dr. Katz was amazing in finding out what he needed done and giving so much helpful information for a new puppy. They also have tons of treats for your pup after your visit and sent Buster & I home with a first visit goodie bag! I will be back in a few weeks for his next shots and will definitely recommend to other dog owners!
SO excited about this new location opening up right near where we live! When I first got my dog last year when we were in Brooklyn we went to the Cobble Hill location, but this new spot couldn't have been more convenient. At both locations though, Bond Vet is consistently phenomenal. Its clean, comfortable, the staff is great and friendly, and though my puppy was so scared at first he peed on the table, he was quickly made to feel at ease. Shots were easy and painless and he got lots of treats! Here's a picture of him sleeping off all the vet excitement.
My cat was showing signs of a UTI late on a Saturday afternoon so I brought her to a nearby Bond Vet. Although there were no appointments available until much later, I was able to leave her for a doctor to examine in between other appointments. The doctor called me with the exam findings about an hour later. When I went to pick her up, the doctor was available again and I was also able to speak with a nurse. Next day they sent me an email asking how she was doing. I really appreciated how they accommodated me and my kitty and the follow up as well.
My dog comes happy to the vet! He looks forward to the delicious treats at the entrance and gets to relax a little in the beautiful waiting area before he’s seen. We came twice for a walk-in visit for tummy issues and a second time for a scheduled vaccine and the service was amazing. I could go with him for the general checkup and the vets take the time to listen and explain everything you need. Good value for money, easy yo make an appointment or walk-in late in the evening and weekends, so this will be my go-to vet from now on.
We have been to Bond multiple times for multiple animals, and always have a good experience. Our senior dog was treated with care and kindness before her passing, and our puppy has been a few different times for numerous health issues, and they always are upfront and honest while providing as much information as possible. As strange as it is, our dog Bleu enjoys going to the vet and is excited no matter the reason we are there! The space is also clean and welcoming, while maintaining a modern vibe.
I’ve had pets for over 40 years and I’ve seen many veterinarians. I give Bond 10 stars. The staff is knowledgeable, sincerely caring about both the pet and the pet owner. I felt comfortable from the moment I walked in. The entire staff is sincerely pleasant and caring. The best veterinary experience I’ve ever had. (And I was told my pet would be passing soon. He was 18 and lived a blessed life. I brought him back when it was his time. They were so gentle with both me and him.)
This was our first time visiting the new Bond Vet at the East Village location. The staff was so friendly and showed genuine concern for my Misty Rose and her ear infection. The waiting area was well lit and they have a snack bar full of dog treats. Dr Bunni Tan and her assistant were so gentle with Misty Rose. I appreciated how Dr. Tan patiently explained to me what was going on with Misty as I was taking notes for myself. I will definitely be coming back again.
As a 1st time patient I can say we had a warm welcome from reception, as well as from all of the medical staff and their assistants. They have a very organized, Knowledgeable And pleasant demeanor, as well as friendly bedside manner. They are thorough, kind and caring and provide you with a next day follow up regarding your pets status which is very important. They are quick to give lab results And are available for questions. I highly recommend Bond Vet!
I went for the first time today with my cat, they booked me for the same day and the place was clean. Vet & vet tech took good amount of time with my pet, made recommendations and answered questions. They do offer 3 year cat rabies vaccines btw! Super clear free structure and no pressure to pay for what you don't need. I will note that their vaccine cost is way higher than say petco vets. Free snacks for dogs v cute
My Regular vet was booked up and I needed to get my new kitten in to be seen last minute. They recommend that I go to Bond Vet. I made an appointment and the whole experience was great. They were efficient and compassionate. Better yet my kitty is doing much better. While I plan on keeping my primary vet, Bond Vet is my new back up. Thank you! Update: I've been so happy with Bond that they are my new Vet!
Vet and the vet assistants were knowledgeable. They were patient with my dog and took their time to understand the situation. They answered all my questions and developed a comprehensive care plan. They did not push any procedures that I preferred not to administer. Pricing was transparent. The facilities are nice and I appreciated the ease of appointment booking and their digital medical record system.
I was able to get a same day appointment after work hours, and the staff were very nice. They were kind to my cat, explained my options for tests to be done, were transparent about pricing. They take Care Credit, which is a big help. The first visit is 25$, an excellent deal. I have a local vet that I feel a loyalty to, but it was nice to have a reliable option for this and other urgent situations!
I'm so glad I found Bond Vet! From the moment I walked in I knew it was going to be a positive experience. The office is bright, cheerful, there's treats everywhere, and the front desk staff are friendly and efficient. Dr. Tan thoroughly checked my dog Penny and explained everything in detail, including all her meds. I feel Penny is in the best of care at Bond Vet. Don't hesitate, book now!
Every staff member at BondVet is exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They're like the Apple of veterinary clinics--totally focused on providing their customers and pets with the best possible experience. They're extremely patient with my pup even though he gets a little anxious during vet visits. I'm so glad they're around and I can't recommend them highly enough!
I brought my puppy to his first vet visit at Bond today and it was a wonderful experience! Amanda at the front desk was so kind and welcoming. The waiting area is so cute. The staff was friendly and made my little guy feel comfortable even when he was suuuuper nervous. They even gave me a cute little puppy welcome tote bag filled with treats! I’m thrilled with my experience
Bond Vet East Village is great! Everyone is so nice, caring and professional. The staff shows genuine concern and doesn’t rush appointments. It’s easy to make appointments online, and the waiting area is clean and well lit, and stocked with treats. My girl Billie loves going there and regularly tries to maneuver our walks past the vet so she can go in and say hi!
My dog experiences skin and hair loss issues. I tried Bond Vet last night and was very happy with the visit. Setting up the appointment online was a breeze, the appointment started on time ( that has never happened at any other vet practice) and the doctor took time with me and my dog to get to the root of the issue. I will definitely be using Bond moving forward
I love that appointments are very easy to schedule online and that I can schedule same day. All the staff here are super nice and they answered all my questions! I like that they email you for an update after your visit. It is definitely on the pricier side but it is worth it if you need to have your pet see the vet right away. I will definitely come back again.
Such a clean and well organized place - the staff is unbelievably kind. The Vets here are so helpful and just clearly have experience/know what they're doing. I would highly recommend Bond Vet to other pet owners and their pricing is fair, especially for the city! They have treats for your pets and some accessories/wellness items for purchase too! 10/10
I absolutely loved the care that my dog received at Bond Vet. The staff members were communicative and explained what to expect with my dog's first visit. The process was seamless and I enjoyed the portal and text features that enabled you to track your appointment. Overall, it was an incredibly positive experience and I can't wait to come back again!
This is 3rd visit with Bond Vet. Each time he has been seen the staff has been very friendly to my pet and myself. The atmosphere is very calming and relaxing. In addition the wait time is not long. Also, the veterinarian is very informative, and has answered any and all questions and concerns i have. Bond Vet is primary care doctor
Very disorganized and unclear procedures, no transmission of results from tests and led blindly to spend a bit more! Because the doctor did not respond in a timely manner suggested my cat come back in for additional blood work a week later. I would strongly suggest going to a more local and animal centric veterinarian.
Super friendly staff! Very caring with our cat, helping to keep him calm throughout the visit. I appreciate the thoroughness with his exam, as well as the thoroughness explaining the exam and the cost for each part of the exam. Office was also nice and clean. Very glad to have made Bond Vet our cat’s vet!
I will always trust Bond Vet! My dog is older and they have been extremely helpful, thorough, and compassionate in helping me navigate caring for a senior dog. It is so easy to make an appointment with them and they are very flexible. Their office is welcoming and clean. I cannot recommend them enough!!!
I took my dog Winston for his first visit to the newly opened Bond Vet in the EV. The staff was super friendly and helpful, the interior was sparkling clean with lots of treats for dog/cat owners while you wait. Would highly recommend this to all pet owners in the area!
I never expected to like Bond Vet, I love this place. Dr. Katz is amazing with my dog Hanako and educate me in the problem and process of my dog's health issues. The vet nurses are all very friendly and amazing as well. I am very happy I found Bond Vet-East Village.
Staff is super friendly! Multiple staff came and gave pets and treats to my pup- she literally drags me in when we pass Bond. Knowledgeable and breaks everything down for me so I feel like I understand and have more control over what’s going on. 5 stars all around!
Brought my cats here for the first time since I just moved in. Incredible Vet! Fast, clean, and kind. Charity and Dr. Schreffler were very professional and answered all my questions thoroughly. Will be back (but hopefully won’t have to).
The staff here is so incredible, my dog tries to go to the vet every day, just to hang out. It’s not for the treats; it’s the people! And this is after heartworm treatment! Only a truly caring staff could engender that kind of loyalty.
The best! I love my dogs vet. I love how attentive he was with my Coco and how first before examination he talked to me about my concerns. And explained to me on how he can help my dog and I feel that she's in good hands.
This office is one of the best. My dog looks forward to going to the vet. All of the doctors and nurses I have met with are kind and provide you with guidance and insight to maintain my dogs health.
Truly wonderful care - the Bond Vet staff I’ve interacted with have been extremely capable, patient, kind, and thorough. Very organized and easy to book and communicate with online.
We've been taking our pet here for a few years now and we love it. The staff is kind, thoughtful and always goes above and beyond in making our visits as smooth as possible.
Love the vets and front desk people. Just way overpriced and tend to do unnecessary tests. Unfortunate that corporate greed tries to get every penny from caring pet owners
We took our newest kitten Emma there and the staff was so polite to her and us. We’ve made them our primary Vet. This is her at in the vet’s office.
Always an amazing experience here. My dog doesn’t love the vet, and they make her so comfortable. Free treats and balls helps so much.
