We brought our dog here because our regular Vet was all booked up and we needed an appointment asap and it was well recommended. Due to the Pandemic, you are not allowed inside so the VA's come outside and take your info, which is be fine but their system is totally sloppy and contributed to confusion after confusion with regards to our dog's treatment. Every time we showed up, no one seemed to have the information we had already relayed to person we had spoken with before and we would need to repeat everything as if it were the first time. They seemed rushed and not so concerned with details. Sometimes they are wrote things down, sometimes they didn't. There is an urgency to get you in and out I would venture to say they taking on more patients than they should. Unfortunately, our dog paid the price. After the first appointment on a Friday, we scheduled a biopsy for Monday and were given an estimate for that procedure. I dropped our dog off Monday morning with a scheduled pickup later in the afternoon. When I picked him, I was shocked to see the tech bring him out with a shaved head shaved with a 4 inch incision and was handed a bill for full surgery. I learned there had been a miscommunication (but no one could determine where) between techs and the Doctor and instead of the biospy, the doctor put him under with anesthesia and did full blown surgery to remove a bump. The Doctor was apologetic about the mix up but that was about it. The mass was sent off for testing. When I called for results I was repeatedly told by the staff that this particular doctor is a "mast cell tumor master" and always has clean margins so not to worry. Well sure enough, when the results came back from the lab, the margins were not clean, which okay, it happens but give patients an unrealistic expectation? And when they removed the stitches from the surgery, they reopened the incision and had to staple him back up.A follow up surgery to remove wider margins was scheduled for a week later. I was told this surgery would be basically free, but when I picked him up after the second surgery, I was handed a bill and the only thing we did not pay for was the anesthesia. Every other item was accounted for (which was no small amount). I did not expect a free surgery, but to tell me something is basically free and then hand me a bill that is very far from free is again just plain and simple bad communication. I have no question that these people love animals and do everything they can to help the animals in their care, but I also know through very real experience that there are problems here that need addressing. It's impossible for me to know if the care given to my dog was subpar, but I can say with complete confidence that the communication and professionalism of the staff throughout the entirety of our experience was terrible and made a difficult situation for both pet and pet owner exponentially worse. Needless to say we will not be taking our dog back to the Village Vet.
When Dr. Mos, Cisco, Nina, and the old team were there, the VIllage Vet was my vet of choice. I have been a loyal customer for 15 years. Its ownership changed a few years, ago, and in the last months, it has become a chaotic nightmare, with poor customer service as well as treatment. Here are some of the things that have happened to my cat and myself. When I said that I didnt want to wait 30 minutes after the appointment time) every time for my cat's hydration (which happens thrice a week), the vet tech I spoke with--Matt's response was -- my cat is a terrible cat. No vet tech should say such a thing. This is what it is like going there The front desk is like an a railway station there chaotic My cat has 30 minute waits for hydration Bills are wrong and I have to frequently call multiple times for corrections, and they dont always get credited My cat screams with their new vet techs other than with Christina who is outstanding. She never did so with earlier vet techs or vet techs at other clinics. I had to ask five times for a prescription for her syringes. She is on insulin. I was told, on several of these occasions, that there is no doctor there who can write prescriptions or that I simply can't get one. I asked for a shorter needle (30 units instead of 100 units) since I could get the .5 amount prescribed. The front desk told me that the vet said it was not possible. Eventually, a month later, when I met the vet and explained the problem, she agreed. But it took many failed calls and a vet appointment to make it happen. They put a dud free libre (instrument for glucose which is stressful for the cat) on her without checking if it works and sent me home without a working free libre knowing that it wasn't working. My cat was prescribed ear medication for bacteria ten days ago, and they told me that the pharmacy would reach out. I have followed up with the Village Vet, but they say to wait. Nothing so far. Her online prescription orders for food are approved after a week or two. Other vet clinics do it right away. The level of stress dealing with this place is high. For my cat and for myself. It no longer is the old Village Vet, run by Dr. Moskovitch. He still goes there a few days a week for surgery and appointments, but no longer owns it or has anything to do with its operations. Its not the same place.
Dr. Moscovich is truly one of a kind! He saved my pup many years ago, and I have been going to him ever since. My dog all of a sudden developed a back issue that got so bad that he could not walk anymore. My old vet prescribed a whole bunch of meds and treatments that lasted for months, during which his condition deteriorated. Finally, she gave up and send me to a neurologist. The neurologist watched him attempting to walk down the hallway and said that he needs an MRI (10k) and while the dog is under, he might recommend a spinal surgery (10k), and I will have to make a decision on a spot. I was hysterical, to say the least. I called my friend, who recommended to get a second opinion and send me to Dr. Moscovich. Dr. Moscovich reviewed the paperwork and right away determined that we were given wrong medication and wrong treatment. He prescribed something different and told me to put my pup in a crate to limit movement. A month later my dog was running around like nothing ever happened to him! Dr. Moscovich was literally God sent. Throughout the years, he was able to pin point the issues spot on, and always had solutions and recommendations that were least invasive and reasonable and not expensive. He never pushes surgery or anything your pet truly does not need, which is rare in NY, as you know. A lot of doctors are all about money making. Seeing him interact with my pup and other pets, he has such a connection with animals, it's unbelievable, it's like he hears them talk to him. His staff is also amazing. Nina is one of the most compassionate human beings I have ever met. They will work with you on any issues or scheduling conflicts you might have. I just cannot say enough of positive things about this practice. Highly highly highly recommended!
Dr. Moscovitch’s staff is great. Very attentive and cared so much for our senior dog. However, Dr. Moscovitch’s career has been long and the times have passed him by. He incorrectly read an x-ray as hip dysplasia when in fact, the dog’s hips are in pristine condition for his age. We kept coming back to him month after month saying that something else is wrong that his problem isn’t his hips. Moreover, the labs showed abnormal urinalysis results, yet the doctor kept recommending antibiotics to put a band-aid on the problem as opposed to solving the issue at hand, even thought we kept pleading with him something else was happening. In the end, Dr. Moscovitch’s mis-diagnosis of hip dysplasia sent us in circles chasing our tail for two years until we found the root of the issue from another vet: prostate cancer. Because it wasn’t detected when we kept letting him know about it, the cancer spread to the lymph and spine. We are about to lose our furry friend and Dr. Moscovitch completely failed us, and, sadly chastised us for daring to question his (proven wrong) diagnosis. His dismissive demeanor, when we dared to question his diagnosis, has caused our dog excess suffering. As dog owners, his lack of clincial expertise caused us great emotional distress and thousands and thousands of dollars financially. Kudos to his staff - they are amazing. Dr. Moscovitch is only qualified to treat the simplest of diseases or routine yearly check ups.
This is the most unprofessional place I have been. They had positive lyme disease results for my dog and never informed me. They claimed to have left a voicemail a month ago which I never got - maybe because they never left it or left it at the wrong number? A month later I called to get invoices and they told me about the positive results. I said I was upset about not getting a followup call for positive results (most places don't call for negative results so I assumed we were ok) and the manager told me not to tell her how to do her job. They had positive results for over a month and never bothered to make sure I got the message. Further the manager yelled at me, but insisted I was yelling at her. When I mentioned I was a paying client she said that I did not pay her but rather her checks came from the office. I am shocked that a business like this exists in the city. In addition they were over 30 minutes late for the appointment I had a month ago. The doctor came out and said he didn't see any issues on my dog's skin, and then I showed him hotspots he has missed. These were large infections on my dogs skin, how could this have been missed? Please do not go here. The service is not good and the staff is the most unprofessional I have experienced. I do not know how this place has good reviews. You can do much better in this city where competition is high. PLEASE READ THEIR OTHER 1 STAR REVIEWS.
Dr. Moscovich has been my vet for almost twenty-five years. There’s no one I trust more. He is kind, compassionate, and will always give it to you straight. He’ll always act as an advocate for your pet and will gladly explain every detail to you, so that you’re able to make an informed decision on all matters big or small. He always affectionately scoops up my cats, “little sweetheart” as he calls them, and snuggles them as he does his initial inspection. He genuinely cares for my babies as if they were his own. Dr. Moscovich is not only well versed in medicine, but also common sense. He recommends smart solutions to everyday issues, like litter up a nostril, and avoids unnecessary procedures or anything that may further stress out your animal. The Village Vet is a special place comprised of a professional, passionate and dedicated staff. Everyone from reception to the technicians are warm, empathetic and caring. Nina specifically is a star. She’s even come to my apartment in order to show me how to give my cat IV fluid. They selflessly give out personal cell phone numbers and ensure that you always have someone to turn to and guide you in case of an emergency. I can’t speak highly enough about the Village Vet, I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my family.
Wouldn't recommend to anyone who cares about their pet to visit this clinic. We've brought our kitten to The Village veterinarian to get neutered. When we got a phone call from the doctor that the surgery went well, he said that he may cough for a day or two because he was intubated. When I got my baby back his both paws were excessively shaved and he had many little injection marks and huge bruises all over both front paws, obviously they didn't care how many times they can stab him with a needle! But this was not the biggest concern. After we got home he couldn't drink at all. He would start coughing without a break. I had to give him water through a syringe for several days because he wouldn't touch the water bowl. We tried contacting the doctor several times, they would say that the dr is not in the office and that the nurse will ask him to call us tomorrow. Well, guess what? They NEVER got back to us. Also, wouldn't recommend for another two reasons: the wait is just ridiculous! It took me about half hour in freezing cold weather to drop off the cat for the surgery in the morning, before they even officially open! The surgery took place over a month ago and still can't get a doctor to call us. Highly avoid this place if you care for your animals...
BEWARE OF OLDER REVIEWS! Most where posted before the practice was sold to this new group. The new practice, and it's office manager, Laura Mescallado, do not know how to run a vet practice. Incredibly unresponsive and rude. I was exasperated after calling for over 1 week to have vet food approved for my 16 year old dog who has been on the same dog food his whole life. I just saw Dr. M (WHO WE ADORE!) 2 months ago for a $1,600 dental with full blood work and exam (very expensive, even for NYC but we are loyal to Dr. M!). No reason not to approve the food. I was assured they'd approve the food for 1 year... but alas, every time I went to order food, it was a run around to get it approved (they were trying to get me back to the office to charge more $$$ after I was just there "have you been seen recently? We can't approve unless you were seen recently"). This last time it took 2.5 hours of hold time, over 1 week of calling, to get this practice to approve the food with Chewy. They put themselves on a "do not call list" with Chewy because they don't want to get phone calls from them about food... but they don't approve the food! IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME, GO ELSEWHERE! Love Dr. M... would follow him anywhere.
I would like to share my experience with Village Vet and their team. I took my very ill fur son ‘Loyalty’ for care @ Village Vet and the vet was extremely caring to my dog. The vet and a staff member named Nina treated my dog as if it was their dog. They tried so hard to keep my dog alive, they ran tests after tests. Nina was so knowledgeable, I assumed she was a vet, she assisted the vet so professionally and patient. They kept my dog for a few nights to work on keeping him alive. I remember Nina calling me and updating me on all his labs and his progress, one night she called me and stood on the phone with me as I cried and cried for my dog. She told me they are trying their best. When the final day came for Loyalty to get put down, they called me with such pain in their voice, I knew they tried all they can. Nina and the vet allowed us to spend time with him before he goes over the rainbow bridge. I have owned dogs my entire life and Ive been to countless vet clinics, hospitals etc and Village Vet is the best!!! The way they treated my fur son and the genuine display of concern surpassed my expectations. I would like to thank the entire staff, special gratitude to Nina and the vet.
After being on vacation my Chihuahua and I returned to NYC and due to her failing health, we immediately had to go to see her vet. Dr. Moscovich, at the Village Veterinarian. Dr. M. is an amazing and extremely talented and perceptive doctor, plus my pup loves him madly. At present, Dr. M. is taking care of the dog's heart condition and severe pain due to what may be a Cervical Disc Disease (IVDD). Dr. M. has her on a regimen that is doing away with her pain and is greatly enhancing her mobility. My one problem with the Village Vet. is that the office manager, Nina, is no longer there. Nina held that office together and knew and guided everything that was going on. She was always very helpful and supportive to both the patients and their owners. During our recent 2 visits, I felt the change in the environment. I stay with Village Vet because I trust and believe in Dr. Moscovich but I dearly miss Nina. When will Nina be returning?
Such a special place ran by amazing Nina, who will go the end of the world for her patients. She has been our rock since 2016, helping us with emergencies, travel and routine checks for our little Frenchie. As many Frenchie owners know, frenchies are mega sensitive, so having someone who is so dedicated to turn to in times of stress is so great. Nina will pick up your call any time, remember the history of our pet at any time although she and her team tend to hundreds of pets, and pick up from the last checkup like no time went by. She has such a big heart and she cares so much. In a city as big and constantly changing as NYC having a place like the village vet to take care of your dog is such a blessing, as they make it feel like they are part of your pets extended family. I truly recommend them to anyone with a pet, and I thank Nina and her team for all the love and care they gave us through the years.
There are absolutely no words for the PHENOMENAL care provided by everyone at the Village Veterinarian. Nina, the fantastic practice manager, was like godmother to my sweet Simba from day one, providing personal, loving care for my boy for years and working so beautifully and knowledgably with everyone on staff to provide a calm, smooth, family-like atmosphere in the well-run office. Dr. Moscovich, with his incredible expertise and super fun, super sweet nature, always put me and my pup at complete ease while providing thoughtful, comprehensive care. Cisco is the sweetest, best vet tech and everyone in reception is wonderful. When you have a pup who actually wants to stop by the V-E-T to see his human friends, you know you have found an incredible practice. Thank you Dr. M., Nina, and everyone for being my boy's life care family. Love you all. <3
I should have written this sooner, and I apologize to the Village Veterinarian team. I cannot say enough amazing things about the Village Veterinarian. First off the staff/ front of house/ back of house/ vet techs / nurses/ doctors they are kind, patient, knowledgeable, compassionate and care about all the animals. They are extremely busy and juggle many different kinds of clientele with poise and grace. At the helm of this well oiled machine is my earth Angel Nina. She is magic , she can handle any situation, wears all kinds of hats, is the kindest soul. She is patient, very supportive, understanding and loving. My cat would not be alive today without Nina’s astute intuition . She will go to any extreme for her staff or fur babies. If more people were as dedicated and truly considerate like Nina , the world would be a better place.
I only came here because we got a free visit coupon but a little underwhelming. The vet I got was some adjunct who isn't even listed on the website. It felt like the vet assistant knew more than the vet did. The exam room was the size of a closet so it only fit 3 people in which means despite me coming with 2 people, only one of us could be there to speak to the doctor. I asked some questions about my pet but was given vague answers and criticized about the kind of food I feed them...even though the food I feed them costs $1.25 a can and is not cheap. The receptionists were super nice though, and they did get me a last minute appointment so for that I am thankful. They're over an hour away from where I live though, so unfortunately the experience will leave me looking for another vet that's closer to my house.
We had an excellent experience, as we usually do. Dr. Moscovich is the East Village's Dr. Doolittle. Nina is simply amazing. I called Saturday morning for an urgent appointment for our cockapoo, and she took us right away. We saw Dr. Cantor, who is expert, calm and caring. To top it off when I accidentally left my phone at their office, Nina called my husband to say she'd drive it over to our place because she was leaving work in 45 minutes. I later found out from my sister that Nina answered her call to me, telling her it might be a while for me to call back since I'd left my phone at the vet's office. I walked back to pick up my phone but HOW KIND and AMAZING is that? Everyone there goes above and beyond, always. I recommend Village Veterinarian to everyone I know and have done so for years.
We've have been seeing Dr. Moscovich for almost 20 years! I first started seeing him with my cat Banyan because my primary vet happened to be closed and Dr. Moscovich's office was the referring emergency vet in the area. I appreciated the care and manner in which he treated Banyan and soon after switched to Village Vet. They have treated and cared for my cats Banyan, Margaret K and my dogs Hanzo, Kiddo and Chinta ever since. The staff Nina, Cisco, Vanessa, Eddie, Kristina, Anne, Marcia and Carrie (sorry if I've forgotten to list someone) have always treated us as family. We've all shared laughs and shed some tears over the years. Currently Dr. Murphy has been seeing Hanzo, Kiddo and Chinta and we couldn't ask for kinder vet who's been generous with her knowledge, time and care.
This place has sadly changed since new management. My dog who use to love it here with all the friendly staff did not have the same energy. Prices went up. Staff and the Doctor Dr Marrow basically scolded at me for running a bit late and was told that would have to either reschedule or wait. In all my years going here never got treated like this. Sadly this seems like a place who doesn’t care about the dog. My checkup for my dog was 2 seconds literally. Be aware of staff if you got here. Best Service and caring people you can ask for. Too much to say on a google review. But Everyone that work here are the nicest and attentive people. Nina is my girl and will treat you your dog/cat like her children. Nothing but good things to say and you will be in good hands.
While my feline friend, Ozzie, is the first fur baby I've had (therefore making the Village Veterinarian the first vet I have visited), I can't imagine things could be any better. All of the doctors Ozzie has seen and the entire staff are professional, empathetic, and knowledgeable individuals who are always delighted to see him for his checkups. The doctors always present options for treatment for his various conditions, the techs are always very gentle in transporting him, and the front office staff are great in helping to schedule and provide breakdowns in pricing. Being a cat, Ozzie doesn't love being taken out of his lair at all, but he truly appreciates the way he is treated by the Village Vet when he has to be.
The people here were very friendly and obviously greatly care about the feline and canine patients that come for help. I was surprised how many people were here on a Saturday - and there was a steady stream during the 20-30 minutes I was there. A staff member came outside to speak with me soon after I arrived. As this was my first time here they brought the paperwork for me to fill out and then asked me about Danny Boy. The whole process was very efficient, given the social distancing and having to conduct discussions curbside. I also happily observed that returning pets were recognized by staff and addressed by name during friendly banter that had the affect of calming them during a typically stressful situation.
I have been I have been going to the Village Vet for Decades. I had two cats pass away…with their compassionate care. I moved way uptown 5 years ago but still come down with the cats I have since 2013. All the Vets are wonderful, mostly I have seen Dr. Moscovitch (pictured here with my kitten Fred in 2014.) But what keeps the practice going is Nina, the manager. She is available, knowledgeable, and kind. She has always steered me in the right direction and has worked miracles to get me seen by one of the doctors. I always say I’m glad she is a lot younger than me because I will trust her to guide me for years to come. I marvel at how she keeps it all under control but she does it with skill and grace.
The drs and techs are very nice and knowledgeable, however communication is often an issue. I called yesterday morning because my 5 month old puppy was pretty sick, they wouldn't give me an appt until the next day and even though I asked for the dr to at least call me back, no one ever did. When I called again in the late afternoon the person that picked up told me to go to the hospital. No good reason to have paid double the amount when we actually have a vet that could have seen my pup. I even called back today and left a message and still no call. I'm going to go ahead and guess that either drs aren't getting the messages or they just are too busy to be concerned. I will be finding a new vet.
We have been taking our dog Mavis to the Village Vet since we got her three years ago. Happy to report it has been a positive experience/relationship throughout. I have always found their fees to be reasonable and their treatment philosophy to be pretty conservative. i.e., they don't stick you with unnecessary procedures or medications. There are several different docs in the practice, each with their own personality and perhaps some minor differences in their views on how to treat the animals. My advice to the new patient/owner is to try working with each doc to see who suits you the best. That being said, all are very good and you won't be displeased with the service you receive!
Dr. Moscovich has been our vet for over 25 years. We have followed him to several different locations. He is smart, caring, honest and he genuinely loves pets. Over the years his practice has grown to include Dr. Murphy and Dr. Chapman, and Dr. Marder. You can't go wrong with any one of them. The support staff is wonderful. Recently, I brought my sick dog in. He had to stay with them for treatment. They were great, they communicated with me often during his stay. When I picked him up, he seemed happy and much healthier than when I'd left him. They followed up with me in the days after his treatment. I can't say enough good things about The Village Veterinarian..
Dr. Moscovich and his expert team took care of my Yankee from the day I adopted him until the end. I love this practice and cannot say enough wonderful things about them! Last year, I had to put my beloved dog to sleep. Doc made sure to schedule this for the end of the day when his other patients had left giving us much needed privacy and space to grieve. Doc, Nina, me, my daughters - we were all there and embracing my guy. A very sad day is also one that I will remember for how beautiful the goodbye was. This is just one example of the level of care and compassion we received over the course of Yankee's 10 years with the practice. Thank you, thank you!
I love the people here. My dog has always been well taken care of, and they were flexible with my financial needs. They are very sweet and accommodating, even when we swing by without an appointment. I prefer their neighborhood location and their friendliness. I should note - I was quoted about $700 total for a neuter last year. They even emailed out a spring sale advertisement at 40% off - which still left the price tag around $400. I went to the humane society for under $100 and had no issues with care or health of my pet. Again, a fantastic business and worth every penny, but it is worth noting one should always do their price shopping when in NYC.
This little guy was saved by the vets and staff at Village Vet. He was headed for the gallows when he was rescued at age 13. If not for them, he wouldn't be around. My little boy is the most affectionate and sweetest fur face I've ever had. I've had many cats over the years and a few vets and I wish I had known about this practice a long time ago. We love all of you and it takes all of you to make this practice so great. We love you all. And Nina, thanks for taking care of him when I had a family emergency. You gave me the piece of mind I needed so that I could take care of what needed to be taken care of. I am forever in your gratitude.
This is a veterinary clinic that is both people and animal friendly - emotionally intelligent to the parents of pets and with animal expertise regarding medical care. Doesn't every pet owner want his or her pet to be treated with care, kindness, and expertise? Well, this veterinary clinic goes beyond this! I believe Dr. Moscowitz is intuitive as well as medically astute - he is an animal whisperer. His colleague veterinarians are excellent. His staff is helpful, efficient, friendly, and more. I've used Nina to care for my cats when I've been away and she is the best! I can't say enough good things about this clinic!
I couldn't think of a single slightly negative thing to say about The Village Vet. Every employee is knowledgeable, kind and cares so much about our pets. I used to live in East Village near Village Vet and took my cat. I later moved to Queens and adopted a dog and we tested a few different vet's closer to home, but none compared to Village Vet. We now load up the pets and travel into Manhattan just to come to Village Vet. They always make time for us on short notice, always call back and care more than any vet I have ever been to. Do yourself and your pets a favor and use Village Vet for all of your pet's needs !!!
My dog and I just moved to the neighborhood, and I was worried about finding a good vet who also was reasonably priced. I called this place based on reviews, and was able to make an appointment the same day! We had an excellent experience. My dog normally is very nervous at vet offices, but we had a very short wait time in the lobby and all the staff made him feel like the center of attention. Dr. Murphy was great - she answered questions I asked and addressed questions I didn't even think to ask. We went for a routine heartworm check up, but we will definitely go here for all of our vet needs in the future.
If you are looking for an honest, loving, trustworthy, and relaxed vet experience - look no further. I am a long time dog owner but recently adopted a new dog after moving to the city a year ago. My partner's co-worker recommended Village Veterinarian to us and we could not have been happier with our experience. Rather than feeling rushed and up-sold, we felt heard and respected. Our dog is a 2-year-old rescue and a complete ball of anxiety but, to our surprise, he left The Village Veterinarian with his tail wagging and head held high. We are thrilled to be joining The Village Veterinarian family.
Dr Monica Murphy, and all the staff I met at Village Veterinarian were so knowledgeable, nice, and very considerate of my cats needs and circumstance, as well as my family's situation. The treatment and treatment plan were excellent! I have already highly recommended this vet to all of my network of cat owner friends, especially those whom I had sought out a referral from. I so am lucky that I stumbled upon your offices in the course of regular business in my neighborhood, and was able to get an appointment scheduled quickly!! Thank You Thank You
Dr. Moscovich and the entire team at Village Vet have become like family over the nine years they have cared for my three cats. While there have been some very difficult decisions over that period - i always felt confident in them due to the extraordinary care the team at Village Vet has afforded my fur babies. As I am moving away from NYC now I can only hope to find another Vets office as kind, compassionate, and caring as the team at Village Vet. Thank you so much for all you’ve done to provide great care for Lucy, Zoe, and Maggy....and ME! :)
Great veterinarian compared to some of the seemingly fancy boxed chain options popping up in the neighborhood. The vets here were very thoughtful in helping me weigh the risks, liabilities and costs of care for my elderly cat in a way that I felt was honest and transparent (other vets had ordered me MRIs upon MRIs for thousands of dollars that didn't provide any diagnostic information or change any outcomes). Plus they're very approachable and the care they show for the pets really shines through. I highly recommend. I highly recommend.
They have always been really punctual with the appointment times and have shown incredible kindness when my cats and me were all having a rough go of it at the vet. The doctors never pushed anything that wasn't necessary on me to get for my cats and were really honest about what was the most reasonable course of medical treatment. I'm really grateful because I've had some really bad experiences with other vets. I'm really glad I found out about them because it's a relief to have a reliable, responsible vet for my cats.
My dog was a patient at The Village Veterinarian for less than a month. As new dog parents, we had Many questions and relied on the vet to answer them. Upon our first visit we were pleased with the care and service. However, the customer service when you call for a follow up appointment or question is truly disappointing. On two different occasions we were told a vet would call us back by close, and no one ever did. We also sent an email and never received a response. We have since switched vets.
The front desk person did not look up to help me. She was just on the computer. After a minute I said im ready to check out. I came the next day to get supplies the next day and she did remember me and was not friendly. Did not say hi, Judy’s looked at me like she was confused why I was there. The results for my pet were not explained and the results for the blood exam never arrived. The doctor was not warm to me and my cat was not at ease. This is was a waste of time and money and effort.
This is the best vet's office ever. Pricey, but not compared to many other places in the city. They treat you like family and really care and look out for you. Try to find the best routes possible for treatment for your animal if needed, research the most affordable meds, and always accommodate scheduling. There is no favorite vet. I've seen them all and love them all, and they all know my dog by name. The receptionists are so kind and care for every client like their own pet.
I've been taking my dog here for over 3.5 years now and they are second to none! The level of care and service that they always demonstrate is incredible. I'm so thankful to have a veterinary office that I trust so completely with my fur baby! Additionally, want to give them a shout-out for the over-the-top great job they've done in managing pet care despite complications from COVID-19! I'm so incredibly thankful to have such a rockstar team taking care of my dog!
Ok so its obvious why The Village Veterinarian has just a high rating--they rock SO hard! Dr. Meltzer was gentle, patient, and answered all my questions not just with expertise but also with kindness and honesty. Shanya (I hope I got your name right!) and Summer were both so lovely and kind too, and I didn't get everyone else's names but literally everyone at the practice today greeted my kittens warmly. Its a gem of a practice, DEFINITELY go here!
I have to say The Village Vet is THE BEST VET In the universe!!!!!!! Dr, Moscovich and Stuff are there because they truly LOVE animals. They are the most wonderful people you can ever met. I moved to upstate NY but I still bring my cats to them because I will never ever find vet like them!!!!! They are not like the other vet who doesn't have heart, they are full of LOVE, they will treat your pet like their family. You can trust them 100%!!!!!!!!!!
This place is amazing, I trust them completely with my dog Pippin. The staff, especially Nina, and the doctors are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and are great for calming your nerves if you're anxious about your animal. They also make sure they're always trying to administer the right care, and ended up saving me from having to put my dog through surgery unnecessarily (and spending thousands). Can't recommend enough!
I’ve been entrusting my pets care to Village Vet for quiet some time now. The kind of attention & quality care is exceptional & I trust that our pet who is also a cherished family member is getting the kind of care she needs for a long healthy life. We are so lucky to have such wonderful care by not only the doctors that work there but also by the staff who runs a nurturing environment for owners & pets to feel comfortable.
I brought my beloved dog Monty on 5/10/23 for the first time to village veterinary the doctors and staff were very helpful and caring. They went above and beyond to help figure out what was causing my dogs illness even though he passed away it wasn't from the lack of trying the great stuff at Village veterinary was professional and compassionate. I thank them for everything they did me and my dog. I highly recommend them.
We have been bringing our cats to the Village Vet for the past 8 years. While we really love the place, our older cat, Jon Jones, has mixed feelings about veterinary care. He was recently getting into a real stir because they needed to draw blood and he was going to need to be sedated. Eddie, one of the Techs, came in and saved the day by calming Jon Jones, which saved a lot of money and time. Most appreciated.
Best vet in the East Village. My cat was acting strange one morning and we immediately called to see if there was any availability for an appointment. Unfortunately there wasn’t, but the staff there allowed us to drop her off until there was a doctor available to see her. When they could’ve easily said “sorry we don’t have any appointments” and turned us away but allowing us the 2nd option was so appreciated.
Lovely experience taking my kitty for her annual wellness exam! Everyone there was so friendly and helpful, we especially loved Kaiya, who was assisting the doctor with the exam - she was so gentle, kind and loving with my kitty! And Samantha at the front desk, was also amazing! She was pleasant and thorough from my first call to The Village Veterinarian, making it all a breeze. Thank you again so much guys!
Our dog had many health concerns. I had him all over Nyc in a panic and couldn't afford many vets. My neighbor suggested village vet. N they were a life saver. They did surgery for mast cell tumor and got everything out. They were very professional, explaining everything that my dog needed. They also helped his allergies he had for a long time. He's a healthier and happier dog now thx to Village
When I was living in the East Village I took my two dogs to the Village Veterinarian on the recommendation of a neighbour. I have nothing but good things to say about the hard working, welcoming and professional members of staff there, especially when the pandemic hit and special measures had to be put in place. The only reason I no longer frequent VV is because I moved to Boston! Best wishes to you all
I've been very happy here. Took my last dog well past his estimated lifespan, and now a few visits into my current one. Both big bruiser mastiffs. I think the most important factor is their flexibility to owner decisions. We all want the best of course, but there are financial limits for many, and all veterinary care in the city is pricy. They will guide you to the best decision without predjudice.
I can't say enough nice things about Dr Moscovich and his team at The Village Vet. They truly care for all the animals' well being and take the time to know each patient (animal and human). In the 5+ years of bringing my dog to Dr. Moscovich, I've experienced nothing but attentive, professional and caring perfection from him and the team. I trust them implicitly and recommend them highly!❤️❤️
I have been going to Village Vet for years. When My Missy was sick, they were great and when her time came Dr. Murphy was an angel. They have been taking care of Tiny Girl since she came and have been thorough and upfront. Never trying to have me take any un-necessary procedures. They are a neighborhood institution, and I am quite happy with them, through two dogs, and a number of years.
My friend recommended them to me. I loved the staff and Dr. Moscivich. I didn’t feel hurried and my cat felt taken care of. I liked the doctors’ interaction with my kitty and with me. I’ve been to a few other vets recently since my kitty has been ill. In comparison, this office had a chill atmosphere which made a usually stressful situation a bit less stressful. I highly recommend them.
I had a great experience with The Village Vet! They were able to see my pup on a very timely basis and provided excellent care for a skin infection that he had. Everyone with whom I interacted was friendly and professional. I accidentally left my umbrella at the office and they kept it there for me for a few days so that I could come back and pick it up! Will definitely be going back!
My experience was wonderful, as I expected. Dr Murphy was thorough, friendly, interested, wonderful with my boy, Napoleon, answered all of my questions & concerns during my visit and when she contacted me with test results (willing/open to thoughts/ideas "outside of the box"). In addition the support staff, vet techs and the reception are always welcoming, helpful, kind & efficient.
They've always been really great with both my cats from kittenhood. They work with you well on payments and you can really tell how much they all genuinely love animals. From a sudden seizure to swallowing strings, they've handled all of the issues that terrified me with ease. If anything, I'd definitely say they're main selling point ie that the whole staff is trustworthy and kind.
Village Vet is the BEST! I’ve worked with two different vets here, and I can’t say enough great things about their thoughtfulness and loving care for my pup! Everyone at the practice cares about your animals health and happiness from the folks at the front desk to the techs and the doctors themselves. I would recommend to any friend to make Village Vet their primary veterinarian!
I was 100% satisfied with Milo's care and the professionalism and friendliness of the entire team. I should also mention the affordability and seamless coordination with my insurance provider. The Village Vet is the 'sister' clinic of my primary vet, but I have now switched over entirely. It is 50 blocks further away from my home, but it is undoubtedly worth the longer trip.
I’ve been bringing my cat here for seven years and have always had great experiences with the front desk staff, vet techs, and vets. Dr. Murphy is our go to vet and she is so thorough, kind, and attentive. They run annual specials on high cost procedures like dental cleanings which is awesome. We moved to New Jersey and still bring our cat here because we love them!
Honestly the best experience I have had at a vet! They are very professional and super sweet. We have one dog that loves the vet and another that turns into a total frantic mess and they treat both with care and compassion. I cannot say enough about how great they are here. Honestly if you live in the east village, this is the only vet you should consider.
Once their main Dr. Doctor Oz and Nina left I left. I signed up for insurance for my pet there a year ago and the company doesnt have a way to be contacted to cancel. Nor is Village vet returning my voice mails or emails about canceling. So if youre to go to this vet DO NOT sign up for insurance. I am battling this since July...still being charged monthly.
These are the only vets that I trust with my special needs dogs. They are always thoughtful with their care and never suggest anything unnecessary. The office staff is wonderful as well. I feel very lucky to have found this place. Oh and they have specials for senior pets and dentals as well - always great to save a buck without sacrificing care.
Best vet I’ve ever been to! The staff is incredibly kind and considerate. Dr. Murphy went the extra mile to make us feel confident about our new puppy. At each appointment, she’s spent up to 15 minutes talking to us about keeping our puppy healthy. Shoutout to Nina for being the most hilarious person in New York City! You deserve a raise!
I could not recommend The Village Vet more! They have been kind, caring and thoughtful for every moment of the last 16 years with my pup. Because of their dedication and skills, Sadie is in excellent health! It is an honor to have them take care of my dog. Dr Moscovitch is a gifted veterinarian. His staff is best of the best!
I love Village Veterinarian! And I’d recommended them to anyone who’s asking! I have two pups with them now and we’ve known them for many years. All the doctors there treat us like family and understand how precious our pets are. They work with heart and I wouldn’t go anywhere else! Thank you all for your care and love! ❤️
I've been coming here for over 10 years, first for my dog and now for my kitten. The staff here is wonderful, Dr. Moscovich and Nurse Nina are so amazing and have helped me through so much with my pets. They truly love and care for animals so much and I couldn't ask for anyone better to trust with my pets.
The Village Veterinarian has been excellent for my dog Charlie. We moved from LA a few months ago and found them by chance, but have been very happy with their services so far. They even helped me navigate international travel with my dog, and are very knowledgable in this area. I would highly recommend!
Such compassionate care I have rarely experienced in a veterinary clinic. From the front desk, the technicians, and the doctors, I have felt very much in safe hands and very comfortable placing my cats in their care. I highly recommend the Village Veterinarian and Drs. Moscovich and Murphy in particular.
Hands down, the best vet in the city! Dr. Moscovich and the rest of the team give such amazing care and attention to their furry patients! And his expertise and easygoing bedside manner with the animals are second to none! Everyone there is so friendly and attentive to your animals. A+++++++++++++++
Experience was great. My dog was comfortable with the staff and the staff was extremely nice. Eddie the technician was gentle with getting my huge dog on the table. Dr. moscovich was very informative and giving me Gambit lots of kisses which had him wagging even after the vaccines and bloodwork.
Loved it! Staff is very friendly and super professional. My flight was delayed, causing issues with health certificate for my dog, but The Village Vet helped me quickly to make sure we are good to travel. Really appreciate professionalism and quick responsiveness. Great place to take your pet.
Dr. Katie Gerber was incredible with our two pups! She is so knowledgeable, patient, and kind. We instantly felt comfortable with her and her vet in training. Our annual visit was very thorough. Our pups got all their annual medications and she refilled our prescriptions. The dogs didn’t peep!
We've been visiting the Village Vet for almost a year since we got our dog and they've always been fantastic. They are very patient with all of our questions and concerns and the staff is truly friendly and loves their (furry) clients. We are so happy with their service and highly recommend!
Dr. Murphy is the best! She’s extremely informative and patient with answering all my questions. She provided very helpful advice to all my concerns and even recommended additional tips to improve my pet’s health. The practice took every precaution during COVID too which I really appreciate
I have taken my Bassett Hound to every vet in town - the vets always overcharged me and never cured Eddieboy's ear infection. Within 2 visits this is after 4 years of expensive treatments that did not work - Dr. OZ cured Eddieboy. To say I am pleased is an understatement. I love you guys.
I've been taking my dog Bella (Toy Poodle) to the Village Veterinarian for about 5 years. Their service is awesome. Bella has been treated by different Dr.s and I'm thankful for having them in my neighborhood. Also, the staff always offer great customer service. I highly recommend them.
My dog has been a patient of Dr. Moscovich for the past 9 years and she is an extremely satisfied customer. The office is very well run and the level of care is outstanding. He is the real dog whisperer who understands animals and animal behavior. We highly recommend the Village Vet!
Hands down the best place to take your animal companion. The doctors and staff care deeply for your pet and have always been fair and honest in their business dealings and pricing. I won't take my dog anywhere else and have been a patron for over 10 years. I highly recommend them.
Dr. Moscovich is a phenomenal doctor. I have taken my pets to him since 1991. He clearly loves his patients and is a wonderful diagnostician. I often wish I had four legs so I could go to him. The office staff--Nina and Cisco and everyone--is also fantastic and very caring.
Village Veterinarian was able to schedule quickly for my daughters dog who was in town and overdue on vaccinations. They confirmed the appointment, were thorough and kind and followed up within a day. I use them for my dog and would totally recommend to others. Thank you!
For almost 10 years, everyone at the Village Veterinarian has been like a family to us and our dogs and cats. From the receptionists and the technicians, to Dr. Moscovich and his team of veterinarians, everyone is knowledgeable, responsive, proactive, and caring.
They're great, very professional. My kitty had a bad accident and they took really good care of him. They won't overcharge you and will stick to the tests/procedures that are necessary (unlike other places). Dr Chapman is great, and so is Nina at the reception.
I love this vet, I bring two french bulldogs here. The doctors and medical personnel are always nice, polite, they always help my dogs and the price point is very reasonable compared to other vets I’ve been to. Plus they don’t overcharge. Highly recommend.
Your pup will finally love to visit the vet...at least mine Alfie does, who usually is very scared if getting his vaccinations. The staff is very friendly and did their magic, and Alfie was super calm and happy. 5 stars to the Village Veterinery staff!
For 13 years they have been my pets primary care. Words can’t begin to describe how wonderful they are. Doctor Moskovich and Nina have cared for our dog for 13 years and our dog Bibi was always so excited to go to the Vet! Thank you both for everything
Nina is why I keep coming back, I love her. She always takes extra time to explain things thoroughly and investigates best options on her own time. I have her to thank for the great guidance leading me to take the best care of my 13 year old yorki poo.
The Village Veterinarian is an awesome Vets. Office. I have always been lucky enough to say that my Yorkies have always had the best service/treatment at this practice. Everyone here is awesome. Thank you for honesty when it comes to my fur babies.
They truly make you feel like family. Nina is amazing, I felt so stressed about my small Toy Maltese getting Dental Cleaning/Surgery but Nina make sure I remained informed throughout and helped me walk through the process. Would highly reccommed.
At the Village Vet the entire staff went out of their way to make sure I got the necessary paperwork to travel with my puppy overseas. It was amazing to have them treat me and Taco as part of their family! Best vet i have ever been too!
Wonderful staff! They also did a great job on teeth cleaning and extraction for our little Pomeranian. They dr was very knowledgeable and super helpful. I take both my cat and dog here and they are always so helpful. Thank you!
Loved our first trip to the village veterinarian. Dr Murphy was very helpful and took her time to help us with our new pup Sunny. Everyone we met was kind and helpful. Thanks so much and see you again very soon :)
This is the most wonderful vet practice we’ve been to and the only place I want to take my beloved dog. Dr. Murphy is incredible. Kind, so knowledgeable and the most unbelievable bedside manner.
We are so grateful to have The Village Vet in our neighborhood. Tater loves it so much he would like to vacation there! Everyone is amazing, from the vets, to the techs, to the support staff.
They are always very attentive and diligent with my cat whenever he has a problem, and if there's something they don't have the resources for, they have good recommendations where to go.
Kindest, most reliable group of people. They treat our 1.5 year old pup like family. Ferdie leaves happy and healthy every visit! So grateful I found them! 10/10 best of the best
They took very good care of my cat. After dropping my cat off for her check up, Dr. Murphy came outside to talk and gave very honest yet professional advice. Highly recommend!
The staff here is lovely and professional. I couldn't ask for better vet's than Monica Murphy and Amy Kantor. I'm so happy to have my puppy under their care. Highly recommend!
I have been bringing my dog here since I adopted him 7 years ago. Everyone is so thoughtful and kind, and they go the extra mile to help in any way they can.
Dr. Moscovich is the best Veterinarian. He is a wealth of knowledge and compassion. Augie and I thank him every day
