Cute used book store with a ton of selection, even some new top sellers, such as Glennon Doyle's Untamed available, friendly owner and the store has done an amazing job at setting up strict social distancing protocols so that you feel safe in the store. However, I was absolutely blown away with the book prices...I went to the store with a couple of books in mind and I found one of them and to my complete shock, it cost more than it is currently being sold for at Indigo, the book is currently on sale, but to put it in perspective, the cost of this book at this store, is $2.00 off the original sale price at Indigo and that does not include tax. Glennon Doyle's new book Untamed, is currently selling for $27.75 on Indigo, originally listed for $37.00 and this store was selling it for $32.99 + tax. I understand that this is a pretty popular seller right now, but if you want to get it for a much better price, Costco is selling copies for $20. Older titles were a good deal, but it just doesn't seem right to be selling used books for close to the same price they can be purchased brand new, that is NOT the point of buying used. There are definitely good finds in this store, but my advice would be to do your homework first. I am glad I did. I would have ended up paying more for the book I was looking at buying. As much as I would prefer to support small local businesses and that was my ultimate goal going into this store, I will be going on Indigo to purchase the books I am interested in.

The customer service at this independent bookstore is outstanding. The owner is very friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. I love the diverse selection of new and used titles, at reasonable prices, and the online ordering site is user-friendly, making shopping even easier these days. The bookstore itself is tidy and well-organized into genres, and prior to the recent stay-at-home order, the owner was very conscientious about having customers adhere to precautions, which allowed for a safe and pleasant experience. During the stay-at-home order, curb-side pick-up has been really convenient and efficient. On those occasions where I did not find titles that I was searching for, the owner was always very accommodating and was able to order them. The owner has always been prompt about responding to messages. I will support this local small business whenever I can and would encourage others to take a look at their website, as well as their Facebook page for regular updates. Love this bookstore!

Phenomenal selection of both used and new books. If you’re looking for a specific title it’s just as likely there as it is as a chain retailer for a better price, and you get to browse all the other well sorted titles around it. The gentleman who I assume is the owner is not only helpful and knowledgeable, but very interesting to speak with regarding every book I’ve purchased. Genuine recommendations too based on what you buy, that I’ve found have always been accurate and appreciated. For anyone who’s been an avid reader or just starting any genre (especially for starters or those just getting back into print, you can find whatever your genre is either on sale or at a good price), Bookland is the place to go. Wonderful variety, unbeatable prices, and the best staff you could ask for.

The guy threw me out of the store because he didn't like the way I was wearing my mask. This looks like a business that will soon be closed for good, going by the way they treat customers. I just went to Chapters at the Cataraqui Center and found a real selection of books. Another time I was at the book land store, I was with someone that tried to sell some books and I could tell the store wanted them all for free. I'm glad they didn't get any of the books for free. They didn't get any of the books at all...

This is my favourite bookstore in Kingston! I have been in a few times, and it is always very organized and clean. There is a great selection of books that are all reasonably priced (both for new and used books). Recently ordered a book for curbside pickup, and the owner was incredibly friendly and fast at replying to my questions/messages. Highly recommend checking this store out, you won't regret it!

This is not a big book store as book stores go, but the collection is outstanding. The owner is kind and helpful and clearly reads a great deal! I felt like we were on the same page about a lot of authors! :) Every book I was looking for...and I mean popular books and books I hadn't found in any other used book stores, I found at Bookland. This places "gets" books: chapter and verse!

I really liked this store! The owner was kind and very organized in how he ran the shop. I also liked how he took very good COVID protocols. A good selection of book available and good prices (more than a thrift shop but discounted from if you were buying it new). The owner also let me know that they have additional selection online and that they can order books in. Would recommend!

My favourite book store in Kingston, hands down. Both new and used books, very well priced, really friendly and helpful staff. The floor space isn't huge, but they keep an excellent selection of popular titles and you can also order through them. While they were open, I thought their covid measures were very careful and thorough and I felt safe, and they do curbside pickup now.

Came here all the time as a kid growing up to get comic books one of the only places you could get them for decent price they don't carry them anymore but they still have lots and lots of used books to choose from I've built quite the collection thanks to them there's a lot that you just wouldn't find anywhere else hands down the best used book store in Kingston!

The owner is knowledgeable and professional! And, he maintains a policy of providing discounts whenever possible and without prompting (a pleasant surprise in a world where kindness is at a premium)! I have yet to visit the store, but will be there tomorrow to pick up my first purchase. Already certain that this business is very good at what it sets out to do.

Absolutely incredible service at this amazing little bookshop. No matter what I need, I am always helped. The extended Sunday hours have also been really helpful. I know you can get your hands on many new books without the inflated prices of big stores. The used books are always in amazing shape and even better prices.

This little bookstore is such a hidden gem. The gentleman who owns and runs it is very friendly and approachable. He is quick to respond to Facebook messages and is happy to make any suggestions of what to read. They carry both NEW & USED books, always in good condition. This is my go to place for any type of book! :)

This bookstore is really a hidden gem. I happened to notice it today and popped in. The guy there was friendly and knowledgeable. He helped me pick out a book for my child that she's reading on her own now (thanks). I'll be sure to return; I'm sure to find more we'll both be interested in.

The owner is amazing, he's super knowledge and friendly. The book selection is great. He has a vast supply I horror and graphic novels (which is what I'm after) books can also be ordered if Shervin doesn't have them in stock. It's a must go to, if you live or are visiting Kingston!

This is a great little bookstore with wonderful owners and employees. Everyone is knowledgeable and helpful... Best of all are the reasonable prices on buying and selling. I come to this place first everytime when im looking for something in particular or not.

Great shop in Kingston with a wide selection of new and used books. I purchased a book using curbside pickup during lockdown and the staff were super helpful by answering all my questions and even sending pictures of the books. A great place to shop local!!
