This is a nice library and I do like the kid’s programs they have BUT every summer when the reading club starts they give everyone such a hard time when you want to pick up your prizes. They only want you to go specific times And don’t post that information any where. They have so many regulations on when you can get your prizes and often seem like they are complaining when doing it. It’s like they hate doing it. Hello? It’s your job. I’ve gone an hour before a summer event & they said no I’ve gone 2 hours after an event & they said no. I’ve gone 45 minutes before closing and they said no. I had to go to another Houston library after they telling me no 45 minutes till closing & this library was 30 minutes before closing and they were more that HAPPY to give the prizes out. It really annoys me about this library. This will be the 6 year we join the summer reading club and every year it is the same battle with the prizes which the prizes usually suck too by the way. I just do it because my kids love it and it helps me want to read more. I just wanted everyone to know this information.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. I think they need a little more support staff during peak hours though. The library is very calm and relaxing. The computers and printers work very well. The books, magazine's, DVD's, and CD's are all in very good shape. The facilities are kept cleaner than those in some people's homes which I find surprising. This is a relatively new library that replaced the one located in the Almeda Mall shopping center, but with the same name. I hope that this branch keeps up the good work. A+ across the board. Thank you to the staff of the library and the City of Houston for providing such a nice and convenient library.
Went here for the first time the other day and won’t be my last! The staff was nice; I met Donny and he was awesome! ✅ I haven’t browsed much of the books yet, but they have many older or some recent books from what I can see. There is a multilingual section too, including Vietnamese books. ✅ The library was quiet when I went (between 11 AM-1 PM). Has some seating for studying or working on your laptop. ❌ Could have some more desk seating
I don't know if all public libraries are like this now, but they seem to be more of a daycare with books. Kids running around with inattentive parents. Crying babies, blaring music on intervals. I remember when librarians told people to be quiet. They are very nice but not what I remember librarians to be. Hopefully I can find a quiet library. Only thing good is the proximity to my home.
I mostly get my books of Libby but if I hold a physical book I use this location. The staff are nice & patient and eager to solve problems. I attended one craft program here with my son. It was fine. He also did the summer reading program which helped him get ready for 1st grade. I’ve never used the computers. The place is well lit, plenty of parking and inviting.
It's a very nice place, people are nice too, but its too much noice, children screaming all the time; it's impossible to focus...The study rooms are never available, but there is noone inside the room!! I found a much better library in Pearland instead they have plenty of study rooms that block the small little disturbances on the surroundings .
Ahhh the smell of books!! The library is now open for limited browsing. You can be inside for 1 hour, temperature check at the door. The book sales cart where I get my National Geographic magazines for 10 cents is not out yet but she says it will be soon. Come on in!!!
The staff is very helpful, and very nice. The atmosphere is quite and very relaxing. You can actually clear your mind here, I do recommend you do bring a jacket because it's always freezing in there. But, other than that it is the ONLY LIBRARY I will go to.
Make a big deal just to get a library card! Is this a police station!? Ask for all this kinda proof just to proof you are that person when you have & I.D & proof of residence or is it just cause I look mexican!? Smh
I thought the library was suppose to be a quiet place where people could read and study peacefully. The librarian was talking frequently and loudly and the kids were out of control.
this is an amazing library I've seen the area develop and change since this library has opened as well as the staff members inside but..overall it's an excellent library..
Very beautiful public library, clean and organized, simple design, very very friendly staff. The building design seems eco-friendly, monitorized library for sure!
This was one of the most bad experience in my life rude employees and they're really rude to the kids by yelling at them all the time rude employees work there
The staff is always friendly ready to help even if they have childrens or adult activities going on they are always there to help me.keep up the good work !
It's a small, nice, pretty library. Very quaint, very on brand with HPL. Definitely would not mind driving all the way out here again to do some studying.
So far, it's my favorite library. I like it! It's not too loud and the printers and computers work very well; the books are also in good condition.
The staff in this library are old people. They expect from your 2 years old to act like an angel. So if you have an active child don't go there.
The library is a great place to do your resume and other stuff on the internet. Employees are very helpful and there is a copy machine
My family appreciates the opportunity to have a place to find reading options for all. Quiet, clean, always welcoming visitors.
Wonderful library, wonderful helpful staff. Great children and youth areas, programs, support. Love it and recommend it.
Great little neighborhood library and a awesome place to have a peaceful relaxing day reading or searching the web
This library looks modern. I like the environment it's not packed all time have a nice relaxing mood.
This library has a relaxing atmosphere. The library staff is always eager to help if you need it.
Great experience of poetry recitals. The poets were varied and interesting in unique ways. Bravo!
Wonderful and kind employees. It's our favorite neighborhood library with great programs.
They don't clean the toys regularly. Your child will be sick every time you go there.
In order to use the computers you have to have a membership …
I enjoy this library. The Librarians and assistants are very helpful.
We love our local library!!! Wonderful spaces for children.
The best librarians are in this library, hands down
