I really liked this vet which is why I ignored all my gut feelings and listened to him when he kept insisting my dog was collapsing due to arthritis. It felt wrong, but I called him to update a few times and kept on with his treatment. Eventually I couldn't ignore my feelings anymore and took her to another vet who immediately spotted she was incredibly unwell. She ended up diagnosing her with a brain tumor. Shortly after she began having constant seizures so we had to put her down. I'm not saying vets can't make mistakes, but I didn't ever feel like I was listened to when I said I didn't think it was arthritis. The doctor definitely has an old school mentality and it comes through when he speaks to you. Your opinion is irrelevant. I knew something more was wrong with my dog. We had been together for 12 years. I knew it wasn't arthritis. I knew she had changed substantially but I wasn't listened to. The result would have been the same but I would've had more time to say goodbye to my companion. The price point here IS very reasonable. I do think he cares about pets. I never felt pressured to buy more services or spend more money, which I've felt many times at other vets. But unfortunately the trust is gone and I no longer feel comfortable going here. I encourage people going to this clinic to seek another opinion if you don't feel right about it.

I was very disappointed with the lack of care this vet provided. A year or so ago we noticed that our cat, Sugar, was losing weight rapidly. When we took her in all the vet did was say praises about how she was at a healthier weight now, we even mentioned that we haven’t done anything to change her diet and we’re still concerned, and he just brushed it off. Over the next few weeks we noticed she wasn’t eating at all and looking less and less healthy, I told my mother that I no longer trusted this vet, so we took her to woodlands veterinary hospital instead. They took our concerns seriously, and did blood tests and X-rays. Our cat had Stage four kidney disease and the breaside vet completely missed it, since he was so overly concerned about weight of our animals. We had even taken her in for a breathing concern about a year prior where he again did nothing to help, and probably could’ve found the kidney disease if he was more concerned about our cats health then, when we would’ve been able to take measures to help her. Instead our cat suffered form this vets lack of care, only received what small help we could give her when the other vet caught the disease, and soon she got put down due to low quality of life. All because the carelessness of this veterinary clinic.

Unbelievably insensitive, If I could give them a zero I would. Today I called this vet asking about End of Life service for Euthanasia and Cremation and costs associated. The gentleman that answered the phone asked how old my dog was, I stated she was 6 years old, he then rudely asked why I would want to put her down, I told him that she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He then asked who diagnosed her, and I mentioned the Care Animal Clinic, he said well they should take care of this then. I basically told him we were not interested and he hung up. I would highly recommend finding another vet to help ease the pain of your beloved pet.

I am grateful to Dr. Kurt for fitting my pup in today for her second vaccination. The price for the service was very reasonable I know because I called around to compare prices. Dr. Kurt was so good with my puppy that she was relaxed after being there for a couple of minutes. He distracted her with a treat so she didn't notice getting the injection. Dr. Kurt is a considerate and knowledgeable individual, he took the time to throughly look at her and discuss concerns and make recommendations on how to keep her healthy. I would recommend taking your pet to his clinic.

Right before our trip to the US we realized one of our dog's rabies vaccines had expired. We called around all over the city with NO luck and finally were able to get an appointment here for 15 mins after we called. They were very accommodating, nice, informative and provided us immunization records and health certificate letters. The vet was very gentle with both dogs and made sure to get us in and out in a short period of time. We truly appreciate all the help and love places that do not over complicate things but simply provide great customer service!

I took my cat in for shots 2 weeks ago and during the exam it turned out my cat had a stage 3 heart mermer, the vet never did a thing never investigated further never offered any treatment options, just sent my cat home and told me to bring him back if he starts coughing and yesterday my cat dropped dead. So I called the vet and all he could say was my cat must of got into something, what a joke this vet is and I do not reccomend letting this vet treat your animal if I ever get another cat I will not be going to this vet again

I called today looking for some information on dental work and blood work. I unfortunately have not had the funds previously to do dental work for my dog and I have the funds now and want to take care of her and the lady I spoke to today on August 3rd at 1:45 in the afternoon made me feel very bad about myself. I understand that care needs to go into an animal but sometimes life does get in the way and it can be very expensive. She is healthy and I was trying to rectify everything today but thanks for making me feel bad.

Absolutely terrible. I didn’t feel comfortable there right from the beginning. The mans demeanour was terrible. My dog was barking at him and was told he was aggressive but my dog has been to many other vets and they have never thought he was aggressive, maybe reactive in certain situations but as a vet with years of experience you would think they would know how to handle different dogs in many situations. He was rude and I felt like my dog wasn’t going to get the care he needed so we left.

My little girl Bella actually likes this vet and she has no problem allowing him to exam her. Dr. Weissenborn is very compassionate and gentle when dealing with my little ones, and very empathetic when we had to say good bye to Chyna our little Min Pin. She was over 13yrs old and he took very good care of her. Especially when she had a tumor in her eye and he had to surgically remove it. I would recommend this Veterinary Clinic to anyone I know. Awesome staff!

I couldn't appreciate my experience more at Braeside Vet Clinic. In today's day I think we are inundated with excess and fear inducing information from diet to precision on medication administration (flea, tick etc) so a more down to earth, simplistic, and for the true well being of the dog (vs a cash grab) approach was so refreshing. It was a professional but familial feel and I wish I wasn't leaving Alberta because I think I found my dream vet!

I won't and don't trust my pets to anyone else. Dr.Weissenborn is so gentle, attentive and compassionate with the pets. We recently moved to the other side of the city but still remain loyal clients because of the care and attention given. Thank you for always being there for us, it really does help ease the stress when dealing with our pets health issues when they arise. Anytime anyone is looking for a vet I always recommend Braeside.

Best Vet Experience Ever! Our dog is very nervous and Dr Weissenborn's patience and kindness resulted in a fantastic experience. Other vet clinics have suggested the need for our dog to be sedated prior to an exam ... the doctor's clear love and care for animals was all that was required for our dog to get an exam at this clinic. Highly recommended, we will most certainly be going back.

This vet is very impatient, he smacked my dogs face when he was a very young puppy on our first visit and it continued to get worse each time we returned. VERY ROUGH with animals and lacking compassion. We had a negative experience here on three separate occasions and will not return.

I was very impressed with the care and compassion shown by Dr Kurt during the emotional end of life treatment of our 18 year old kitty. He treated Lucky with dignity and acknowledged our tears with sympathy. Recommend this clinic without hesitation. Thank you Dr Kurt.

Dr Kurt is absolutely amazing! He practices thorough medicine and really looks over our dogs, not just doing a bunch of diagnostic tests. We are so thankful to have such a compassionate and knowledgeable veterinarian for their care. 5 stars plus!

This vet saved our cat. He had a bowel obstruction and the doctor kept him with him at the clinic for 1 week. Sometimes, patience and time is the best treatment and this older Vet is very dedicated to the pets.

He has been my Vet for 18 years. Never pushes any medical procedures. Will often talk you of uncessary testing/procedures. Extremely knowledgeable. Always has the animals best interest.

If your dog hasn't gone to obedience training prepare to be yelled at. I'm not the most strict with my dog but this experience was very uncomfortable.
