"This is a tough review, because I've been coming to this store since I was a child (I would stop by just to say hello to the former owner"
"I always buy at this place"
"I bought two bottles here"
"One of the cheapest prices in Manhattan (I used to live on Dyckman & the prices here beat Dyckman anyday), if you can stand the crackhead that hangs outside opening the door for you only to ask for a dollar later on"
"Really large random selection and probably the best prices you’ll find for brand wines and liquors in the area"
This is a tough review, because I've been coming to this store since I was a child (I would stop by just to say hello to the former owner.) As the bartender/manager of a local bar, I would occasionally order stock from this store if we ran out of product, and I have been a loyal customer for over 30 years, because they always have the product's I want, the prices are fair, and the service friendly and professional... Until recently. A Couple of weeks ago, I went in for a new product, and I said... "excuse me!" to a guy I'd never seen before who was behind the counter, I wanted to ask him the price of a bottle of cognac He responded..." DON'T SAY ANYTHING TO ME, ASK HER!" (pointing to a cashier) Then he bolts from behind the counter. I was livid!Turns out he was the new owner. There goes the neighborhood! Such a shame.. So... If you don't care about how you/your fellow customers are treated by the owner, this is your place.
I always buy at this place. But today I had I really bad experience. I bought a bottle of svedka and one prosecco. Once I step out side the bag opened and I broke the svedka bottle. I got Back and explained to one coworker ( male) which told me to strand with thisAdisn woman. She was so mean , told that was my problem not hers that the bother got broke screaming. After 20 minutes the other coworker came and called the owner explaining what happened. Tight right away he gave me a discount for another bottle. That means he really cares about the client at the store. Not like the another one who has no education at all to work at this place.
I bought two bottles here. A bottle of rose wine and a small bottle of Hennessy. The cashier rung me up with three items at $67. I asked him what the third item was for so he removed one item, knocking it down to $47. Then I noticed a blackberry something for 19.99 being the second item, which again I had a rose wine and asked him to remove that and scan my wine again which then changed my total to $27. Total rip off. First and last time there.
One of the cheapest prices in Manhattan (I used to live on Dyckman & the prices here beat Dyckman anyday), if you can stand the crackhead that hangs outside opening the door for you only to ask for a dollar later on. If you can ignore that, then by all means, come over here. Where else would there be a door service at a liquor store? ;)
Really large random selection and probably the best prices you’ll find for brand wines and liquors in the area. Yes it’s disorganized and has average service but the price and selection here more than make up for that. If you’re stocking up on booze you’ll save some money doing it here and you’ll find everything you need.
First spot I've been to in Harlem where not one person was arguing in the store. Lol. Store was clean and over stocked with plenty of wine selections. Found multiple brands of wine that my family and I drink for 25% less than ALL the other liquor stores I happen to visit.
It is a well respected wine and liquor establishment with the best prices in town . Which is why I always get my liquor from there . You can look around or ask someone that works there in case you don't find what your looking for .
One of the best places in order to buy liquor. Prices are the lowest and they have a great selection of wines from France, Italy, Spain and South America. Edit either they re looked the place or it permanently closed.
You can pretty much find everything you need here...they have alot of inexpensive buys also..ex. A bottle of Tutela Prosecco is $8.99 so now I only buy the expensive French stuff now on special occasions lol.
Not nice owners at all. They sold me a bottle of liquor that was turned, the cork crumbled and refused to exchange it. Super bad customer service. There are better places in the neighborhood.
The people in there are just that in there they are not knowledgeable about there own inventory and the prices are a bit higher. The only good thing is they stay open late.
Great prices, but very unorganized, and crowded, tried to find a specific wine I called if they had it, they say yes, I go to the store and they, nor I cannot find it.
They have everything and they have the best prices. They will soon be moving into a new location 2 doors down... Can't wait for the grand opening
It's a very small and crowded store and can barely move but the staff is very helpful and have a decent selection of wines and other spirits.
Been going there for years, the people working there are nice n the prices are very reasonable, I would recommend this place to everyone
Good prices... Interesting place for wine hunting... Some good finds at great prices... Not everything within hands reach... But cool.
