A bit of a long story here with two trips, two phone calls and a few emails for 3 small replacement parts for a Magnussen Executive desk. I know of three individuals who work at this particular store and only 1 had any experience in customer service and treated me like I wasn't an inconvenience. Sadly I cannot remember the name of the taller older gentleman who treated me quite nicely the first time in the shop. I was just there briefly(maybe 5 minutes or so) for some information regarding 2 replacement legs and 1 handle for a desk from a maker that they carry(Magnussen). You have to go through suppliers such as Brooklyn Furniture as you can't go to Magnussen directly.Great experience this time which ended after my second time in the shop and continued to get worse. Second time in the store I spoke with a man named Peter about the parts I needed replaced. After explaining what I needed replaced Peter literally said "Whats in it for us?". Not exaggerating his question there and his exact wording. I quickly answered "payment for the service ofcourse on top of delivery and cost of items".I just needed these three parts. He then left me at the the desk they have near the back left of the store to help another couple in the store. He answered about 3 different calls making me and the couple wait(about 15-20 minutes all together). After he finally came back he did indeed appologize for the wait and said he didn't mean exactly what he said when I repeated his question back to him and how rude it sounded. We then went over a catalogue, found the parts and wrote down the info for a woman named Susan who deals with parts and deliveries who wasn't there at the time and would be in the following Monday. That final part took about 5 minutes and I then left. Following Monday came and I called Susan just to confirm I could pay for the parts and delivery and what they would charge me for the service. She informed me it would be roughly 25 dollars for FedEx delivery, 17 or 14 dollars for each leg and something around 11 for the handle. No problem I said and she informed me to email her to confirm my name and info for the delivery. I emailed her a couple days later and roughly 30 minutes later I got a call. She spoke to me in a very quick and frusterated tone informing me it would be "too confusing" and would "cost a fortune" for the parts(2 legs and a handle) and due to my phone which bad reception at the time she said to email her as soon as possible which I did. Her response to my email I sent: "Hi, You did speak to me and I thought you bought the desk from us. I can't be responsible for parts for a product from another store. This is quite time consuming and we would have to charge $195 for this service and it would be a final sale. Brooklyn Furniture could not be responsible if the parts do not fit. I would have to have something in writing to that effect. Please advise by email only." Now each time I spoke to them in person I told them I bought the desk from a friend at work who bought it from there. Not sure why she said it was purchased from another store. Also I am not exaggerating the original price she quoted me over the phone vs. the new inflated price of $195. Like I said she went from roughly $65-$75 dollars to $195. A large portion of what the full price of the actual desk new would be. 200 dollars for 2 round legs 2" high x 5" in diameter and a handle the size of my index finger. My last email from her was the following: "Just to be clear we are not in the parts business and have never offered this service" This after two other gentlemen stated it shouldn't be that difficult to get the parts in. First and most likely last time I have ever put a poor review on a business. I suggest you learn from my mistake.

My wife and I spent a considerable amount of time trying far and wide to get the best prices on a high end leather executive chair together with a beautiful coffee table/matching end table for our living room. Although we had to wait several weeks for the furniture to be delivered from the U.S., the wait was worthwhile as everything was even better than we had expected! The delivery guys were also very polite and professional in every way. To re-state, we spent a lot of time to find the best prices for the furniture we wanted but there is absolutely no doubt that Brooklyn Furniture offer the very lowest prices in the GTA for top quality, high-end Canadian and American-made furniture. When it comes to buying top quality furniture, we don’t think that Brooklyn Furniture can be beaten and this store may be one of Toronto’s best kept secrets in that regard!! They seem to be a small Mom and Pop operation and we will recommend them to ALL of our friends and family without reservation!

The customer service I received at Brooklyn Furniture was exceptional. My husband and I were interested in buying a Marshall's mattress and box spring. When the Marshall beds at the store weren't quite what we were looking for, Louis arranged a visit for us to the Marshall's showroom. It was there we found our perfect bed. After our bed had been delivered I noticed that there were several small black marks on our new white mattress. I think they were probably from one of the delivery person's hands after taking the mattress out of the protective plastic bag. I called Susan at Brooklyn Furniture to ask what I could use to remove the marks. She told me not to try taking out the stain myself and that she would send and pay for a professional cleaning company to come to my home. In Home Service came to my home and successfully removed the black marks. Thank you Louis and Susan!!

Such an amazing store with very good/honest people running it. We’ve done business with them a few times, over the past 4 years and have not been disappointed. The prices are very very reasonable for some of the major US brands and the delivery has on time. Even during COVID, when it took longer for one particular piece; we were notified repeatedly about it by the owner. They delivered once an hour away from Toronto and the second time, it was about 5 hours from Toronto. The pieces even though extremely heavy, were in perfect condition and the delivery folks were very careful in delivering them to various locations in our home. Always ask for Loui when in the store or on the phone; the process of ordering might not be as modern as some of the big box store, but I can assure you the quality of the products and the prices will more than make up for it. Thank you again!!!!

From the choice of sofa and finish, to choice of chairs, to choice of fabric, never once were we made feel rushed or under pressure to make a decision. We highly recommend Brooklyn Furniture for their quality of furniture and recommend them for having such a professional, knowledgeable staff . My family and friends will certainly be doing further business with Brooklyn furniture.

I was gifted a piece of furniture last Christmas. Pre-sale interaction and delivery were great. Interaction post delivery and setup by Brooklyn Furniture contractor has been rather dismal. Rails on one side of the bed detached with the screws ripping out of rails. Request for information are often ignored and weeks go by with no response. Told was not covered by warranty even though was reported within a month of being delivered, was not noticed earlier as rails that broke away rested on the under bed storage drawer. I waited several months, 9, before posting this review in hopes of getting a resolution or even the manufacturer information. Last communication on November 24, has yet to be replied to. Went to Brooklyn Furniture on recommendation of previous customer who had good experience, unfortunately I can not recommend.

I called Brooklyn furniture and Peter answered all my questions on bedroom furniture I had found online. He gave me a quote over the phone which was a great price compared to other quotes I received. No haggle or hassle required. Just quick info and a great price all in less than 15 minutes. I then visited the store and at first was shocked at how old this place is, but don't let that scare you. You can see these guys have been around a long time and having a fancy showroom is not what they are about. It's about great prices and good service. The furniture was delivered in less than 3 weeks as promised and the delivery guys were great. I wish I would have known about this place years ago.

I am surprised by the negative reviews. Brooklyn is my go-to place for a furniture shopping. It's true that their showrooms are not as attractive as other stores. So I usually browse at other furniture stores first to see how it would display in a room, and go to Brooklyn to make a purchase. If you know what you want to buy, this store will get it for you for the price that's much cheaper than others. Peter (salesperson) not only greets me with smile but also gives me professional advice and a great deal. Delivery has always been on time as they promised. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a quality furniture with a great deal.

I chose bedside tables via a catalogue and called and spoke to Louis, the owner. We agreed on a fair price and i paid in advance. Unfortunately, the items I'd chose had been discontinued even though they still showed on the company's product list. I had to choose a different model which was less expensive, but Louis honoured the same discount and immediately refunded me the difference. Shockingly, the bedside tables arrived earlier than promised! When does that ever happen? Louis called me immediately and I had them in my bedroom way before expected. They are beautiful and I love them. All around, a five star experience. Thank you! - Nancy Tennyson

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL! Extremely disorganized. Salesman (Peter) left halfway through our meeting to chat (openly, to our ears) with a vendor trying to sell him a product. Had to call 4 times to get anyone to followup on our order from a month previous. Delivery guys showed up without confirmation, then installed the wrong bed. After taking it back down and replacing it with the correct one, they refused to leave the house without taking payment... from our nanny, as we weren't home! Had to be called multiple times to get payment through. These guys have no idea what they're doing, the place is filthy. Highly UNRECOMMENDED!

Please do NOT shop at this store. The salesman was incredibly rude, and not helpful at all. We went in looking for twin bed for our son. He said, "Here, check this book." He sat down for 2 minutes, then proceeded to help another customer. After we mentioned we wanted a white or grey bed, he then told us that white beds are 'feminine' and aren't for boys. Clearly, this man does not realize his job is to sell furniture, rather than offer grossly offensive gender stereotypes. I will never step foot in this store again, and would advise others to do the same.

My dad, who is of a certain age, needed to be re-housed, on comparatively short notice, in assisted living in Toronto but he was relocating from another part of the country and was not bringing any furniture with him. Brooklyn Furniture staff were tremendously kind and helpful and were able to meet all of our requirements - from furniture recommendations to purchase to delivery and installation - on short notice. They were terrific, and their prices were very reasonable. Highly, highly recommend this wonderful family business in North York!

Went to Brooklyn furniture to buy two bedroom sets for my boys, they are incredibly rude, They're yelling at everyone wearing their masks however they aren't even wearing their own masks properly. I wanted to spend $3000.00 for a bedroom set and they were trying to push a $15,000.00 bedroom set for my 5 year old. They treated me like I was a peasant and I would not give them my business or recommend them to anyone. no wonder why their rating is low. would give them a -10* if I could.

Terrible customer service. The owners are rude and love to gossip about other customers. Ordered 6 dining chairs for over $1200 (they didn’t have this model on the floor). Once they were delivered, they were nothing as described, I hate them. I called them to ask for a refund and they screamed and me and hung up the phone. Now I’m stuck with these chairs that I don’t want and can’t get them sold. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

I saw a sofa and fell in love with it, my search to find a store that sold the sofa lead me to Brooklyn Furniture. The staff at Brooklyn were friendly, helpful and just awesome. Their pricing was great, the whole process was seamless. Delivery was quick and came by the date they had promised. I had such a good experience with Brooklyn Furniture, I would use them again and would recommend them to friends and family.

I have to give 5 stars to the delivery service of this store. I received my bed and dresser and the service was really excellent. They cleaned the space where my bed used to go, assembled it for me and threw out all the garbage that this work involved. Thanks to them and to the estore and its workers. I’m so happy because my furniture is same as I saw the catalog.

Owner Louis, is amazing, through and works hard to make a good deal. I ordered and picked up an Italian bedroom set and took it all the way to Ottawa. Great place to get classy furniture for decent prices. It's a mom & pop shop so don't expect professional service. But it's certainly a very personal service, and they'll do their best to make you happy (they sure did me a few huge favors, such as late delivery and letting me pay a few days later when I needed it).

Very honest owners; they can charger a lot more for some of the brands they sell, which is evident by how much higher prices are from other furniture places of the same products. Their delivery team is also exceptional; they take away all the garbage and assemble everything properly. 10/10.

Brooklyn offers Mercedes at a Ford price. If you know what you want, ask Lou first, and try to match his price. The excellent service is a bonus. I will always start here if I want to find top made-to-order furniture.
