I’ve been coming to this veterinarian hospital for at least two years and have nothing but outstanding service so I’m sad to give this review. Tonight I had an unresponsive kitty that needed immediate medical attention. I arrived ahead of time to warn the staff and the women vet tech informed the man vet working (who is not on the staff list on the website). This man was in another vet room talking to other animal parents when my kitten arrived, and he continued to stay in the other vet room chatting with with other people regardless of the fact that he could hear this pregnant vet tech yell out for all hands on deck. I understand there’s other people with animals that need help but this pregnant if this VERY heavily pregnant vet technician can fill on run with my kitty to the back room, this man can stop his general happy chat for 20 minutes to save the life of my kitten. Still the man was in the other room chatting, SO THIS vet technician HAD TO LEAVE my kitty who needed the attention to go directly into the room and ask for his help before he would come assist. Following this, he came to assist my still warm kitten for no less than 5-10 minutes before he left our kitten again to go back to these people to chat again while we’re waiting anxiously worried sick in the next room crying our eyes out. As he’s chatting with these people, I come to the sick realization that our kitty is gone as why the only vet on deck tonight he happily chatting with the people next door while our cat is struggling to live...he wouldn’t be. Finally after 5-10 minutes of him chatting to the other people again in the room next to us, he comes in our room and says unfortunately our cat’s dead, nothing he could do. The funny thing is, he came in and said “she’s dead”.... OUR CAT IS A BOY. He was extremely unprofessional in how he told us, and honestly I’m not convinced he did enough to save my cat because although he was informed that a kitty was going to be arriving soon in need of immediate medical attention, and THEN the vet tech had to yell out for him, he STILL did not come help, this pregnant vet tech had to go get him, and then when he was with us telling us about our dead kitten, he couldn’t tell us anything about how our cat died, he didn’t even know the gender, which makes me curious if he even did a full examination. Immediately after telling us our cat was dead, he then rushed us and told us we had to choose options for body and paws, and as I cried saying my cat was just alive half an hour ago, the vet has no sympathy. As I cried over my kitten’s dead and warm body, this vet did nothing, and said nothing to console us and then forced us to select paw prints, and asked us what to do with his body immediately afterwards. To note, the vet technicians were amazing that night and amazingly sympathetic and kind to us all, however that vet was awful and makes me think there was more that could’ve been done to save my kitty. Rest In Peace Oreo. - Nicole Murray & Sean Robertson To note, the picture of our kitten on the pumpkin was our kitten an hour prior to arriving at the vet in perfect healthy condition, and the others are of our kitten after he passed.
It is always a heart wrenching experience to have to rush your beloved pet to the hospital, especially when you know it is a one way trip. Our family unfortunately suffered a big loss with our beautiful cat Domino last week. She fell ill so quickly overnight that we had to rush her to the emergency hospital. Due to covid, we could not enter, so I had to hand over my cat and wait in the car for the vet to call. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredible. So friendly, so loving towards my sweet girl, and so sensitive to us knowing this may be the last time we see her. The vet called and we were given the news we knew was coming - our beloved cat would not survive. The vet gave me a quick background on his history as a vet and told me the truth - he said "even if I walked in with a briefcase of gold bars, you still wouldn't be able to save her". I broke down, but we knew already that she had progressed so suddenly, we may never see her again. I whole heartedly respected his honesty and glad he gave me the truth, and not taken advantage of, by trying something that could cost me thousands of dollars and not get my cat any better. They administered some pain meds, and brought our sweet baby girl out in a blanket for us to sit on the bench and say our goodbyes. It was gut wrenching, but the staff was so kind to us, not rushing us, allowing us privacy and time with our baby. We picked out her urn and said our goodbyes. Everyone was so loving and caring, soft spoken and compassionate. Obviously no one wants to have to rush their loved one to the emergency vet, but if you do, this is definitely the place to take them for the best care and concern. I dread ever having to take a pet to the emergency, but I most definitely would return here because I know the TLC my animal would receive and get the best advice <3
So got ripped off for 600$ and my cat didn't get help very very very unprofessional. Doc told me he will clean hole and make sure no bugs inside. When I went home I saw a bug coming out of hole. Next day vet In Mississauga fixed her and I only had to wait 4 hours in total awsome and this vet told me this Burlington vet didnt do anything.this Burlington vet doc told me if she's still not eating then they have to take her in and will cost 2-3 thousand dollars but my vet fixed her for 500$ for everything. so I called vet and lady said it's not like we can cut her hole open to get bug out but as I was talking to her on phone doc in Mississauga was cutting her neck open to get bug out and she's good now. So I ask for money back and she said she would get back to me it's been weeks and this hospital hasn't called me back no one here cares about me or my cat so do you think they care about you and your pet? Very very unprofessional dont waste your time and money. Doc was trying to get me back to pay 2-3 thousand on top of 600$ I payed when I only payed 500$ in Mississauga . 3600$ compared to 500$massive difference in price ripping me off
Rushed my 14lb dachshund in on Tuesday evening after he got into some chocolate and had a feast. He had eaten what was very much a lethal dose - thanks to the speedy intervention by Dr. Websdale and the team, he is still with us, snoring gently next to me. From Diane doing intake and keeping me calm and sane, to Dr. Websdale going through all the details of his treatment plan with me, answering all my questions, and making me laugh when describing the "Exorcist-level" of puke coming out of my small dog after they administered the emetic, which helped to counter some of my panic, to discharge the next morning, the entire team is amazing, and clearly truly care about the animals the see. They began treatment right away, and admitted him for overnight observation about 3 hours later. I am so grateful to the whole team at BVERH - THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SAVING MY BOY MEYER!!
We brought our dog here in April 2023 and were very impressed with the care he received. The staff is outstanding - friendly and compassionate - and are happy to spend time with you explaining the options for treatment. It is apparent that the comfort and wellbeing of the animals is top of mind. We did need to bring our dog two days in a row, and I was (happily) surprised that I didn't need to re-hash the whole history for a different vet on the second night - they already knew the situation and could pick up seamlessly where we left off the previous day. I can't say enough good things about this animal hospital, and will only bring my animals here should the need arise. If cost is an issue, we found them to be quite reasonable for what we needed, especially for an emergency hospital. Highly recommended!
Dr. Diaz was amazing at explaining everything for us and performing a urinalysis and blood work on our cat. When the clinic was not able to take our kitty overnight due to multiple emergency patients on the long weekend, they called around for us to go to another location and arranged everything for us. They are such compassionate and kind workers, we were waiting in the waiting room for a while and we were able to see that despite being very understaffed, they did everything they could to help each person and their pet. Even the person answering the phone was amazing and explained the wait times for those calling, while helping them to find alternate arrangements if the clinic wait time was too long. Edited to add - the pricing here is very low compared to other emergency veterinarians.
Great experience overall. I had to take my dog in last night, he was anxious, I was stressed, and the team was absolutely wonderful with him and answered my (many) questions happily helping me to better understand the situation and my options. I had also called earlier asking questions, and they were super friendly and helpful with my questions and concerns. Yes, you pay more for the services - but that is typical of any business operating outside of normal hours. The team was so supportive and that is just so valued at a time of stress. The wait was luckily a lot better than I had anticipated too, but like any emergency room experience, there is always a potential for a wait. I would not hesitate to bring my dog back here if needed.
Our dog needed immediate care ,of course it happens after most vet clinics are closing. When I spoke with the receptionist she was honest about the possible wait times. The staff were incredibly compassionate and gentle with the dog ! The vet discussed other problems she noticed ( we were aware of) which tells me they examined more than just the problem. The vet explained in a manner that was understandable and answered any questions we had. what shocked me was the incredibly reasonable price for this! On par with our regular vet. I would recommend this clinic to anybody who needs after hours care for their pet!
If I could give 1 millon stars I would, this vet is the first one i've been too with a heart. Caring and compassionate is an understatement. i will be recommending this vet to everyone and anyone i meet who needs a new vet! i promise if you go for one visit you will never go to another vet. reasonable prices and actually works with you and your budget while still providing the necessary care your beloved pet needs. my go to vet for years to come. Truly thank you from the bottom of my heart Lauren and Dr. i will always remember the way i felt walking into your office and the care that my cat Luna received.
Thank you Dr. Stephanie Dam for helping our sick little cat Buster. You gave us all the details of his condition to help make an informed decision. He was treated with kindness and respect until the end. We will always be grateful for that. Covid has changed so many things we couldn't get a vet after moving and could see so many people were in the same situation. This hospital didn't hesitate to help which made the wait time long. Though no wait is too long for our beloved pet. We wish you and all the staff the best in your future. Time for the tears and the grieving to begin for us. Sylvia and Rick
I have nothing but good things to say about this office. The lady (I believe her name was Kelly) working the front desk was absolutely wonderful, even throughout what looked to be a chaotic night. They were upfront about wait times which made the wait less stressful as you knew what to expect. Dr. Diaz was absolutely phenomenal. She took the time to explain everything thoroughly and presented us with different options. She advocated to her manager to keep costs as low as possible so we could afford the life saving surgery our dog needed. Thank you all again for caring for Murphy.
We took our baby girl (Felix) here last week after we noticed she wasn’t able to use the litter properly. It was late, and we were stressed because we could tell how uncomfortable she was. They were amazing with her, and us. Felix doesn’t like going to the vet, and both Sarah and the woman working reception(the cat whisperer) were very friendly and gentle. I am happy to report that Booboo’s is feeling much better! Thank you so much for your patience! Also, the bill was less than we expected, especially for an after hours emergency vet!
Dr Hiscocks is an excellent dentist. Great staff as well in the dental department, Beth was supportive and communicative towards any of our needs. Also very appreciative to the anesthesiologist for keeping everything safe. Our 6 year old 4 LB teacup Poodle Jazmine recovered great and has found her high zest for life again after having a few extractions and the remaining teeth looking excellent. Very pleased, dental services highly recommended. Thanks for helping our family member and ensuring she went through the process safely.
The staff here are absolutely incredible! Our baby Raven spent 3 nights in a row here when we first got her; tail wagging each time we dropped her off. Doctor Lisa S. is our super hero. She was amazing at keeping us calm during a hard time, explained everything that she was going to do for Raven, and most importantly made Raven feel comfortable there. The staff fell in love with our baby girl instantly, and Lisa made sure we knew it! We know Raven is always going to be in safe hands if we ever have to bring her here again!
Unless your dog has a life threatening issue be prepared to wait all day and still not be seen. My dog needed to be seen today, although not critical it was concerning. Got to clinic around 930-10. By 4pm still no doctor. There should be 2 vets at this clinic, so if a critical patient comes in the others aren't neglected . I will never return here again. Three patients left as I was there for this reason. This is a poorly run clinic, don't waste your time.
I highly recommend bringing your pet here! Our cat had a urinary blockage and the vet and her team were amazing! They tried to keep costs as low as they could for us and also went the extra mile to get estimates for other hospitals as our cat had to be transferred. Not only do they care for your pets but also for you! The vet also took her time with talking with us and going over everything in much detail that really helped calm our worries.
I want to thank Dr Roman Diaz for her compassion and sincere caring yesterday. She spoke kindly but honestly. I appreciate all the care the whole clinic took last night when we had to take one our family members in. Our dog did cross the rainbow bridge today. It definitely is not an easy job diagnosing animals that cannot tell us what's wrong. Thank goodness we have good people in after hours clinics to help us during such difficult times.
BVERH literally saved my dogs life. I cannot say how grateful we were for their quick response after my dog ingested a lethal dose of Xylitol. Sophie had a 5 day stay at BVERH and they communicated with us and updated us multiple times a day. We are so grateful to have our baby back with us. I hope you don't ever need to use BVERH due to an emergency, but if you do, they will do everything in their power to help you. Thank you BVERH!
The team of vets and techs here really are passionate about what they do. I brought my cat in and they made sure we were the first to be seen. When we exhausted all other options, and we had to euthanize, the vet cried with me. They allowed us all the time we needed. I never felt rushed. The compassion shown by the staff will not be forgotten. Thank you for the empathy you showed on such a tragic day.
Very compassionate and knowledgeable staff. They took great care of my poor cat who unfortunately had to be put down due to a health emergency. They were incredibly caring and helped make the process go as smoothly as possible. We are very grateful that they helped make one of the worst days of our lives a little better by making our cat comfortable and letting us properly say goodbye to him.
Piper got attacked by another dog three days before Christmas and on a Sunday night after 9pm. Imagine my surprise when this clinic is open. Vet techs Tara and Vanessa, and Vet Dr Stewart took amazing care of her and we were in and out within 30-40 minutes. If your pet needs care, outside the normal working hours of your regular vet, don’t hesitate. Thanks for the compassion and great care!
My little toy poodle Leo had swallowed a pill. And he wasnt doing good. I cant thank the staff and doctors enough for their care and attention to my boy. He stayed 2 nights here. As much as I missed him I knew he was in good hands. He came home all better. How do you thank people who probally saved your dog, your best friend. If I could give them the world i would thank you so much.
so very grateful to the team here, thank you. the new vet, Matt, was awesome with my dog - who’s usually apprehensive of vets, but he trusted him even with a sensitive injury. the vet did a wonderful job, was helpful, knowledgeable and compassionate - truly appreciate this hospital and their overnight availability for emergencies, thank you so much
Dr Jamie was so kind and gentle as she explained the diagnosis for my cat, who was in quite serious condition. She answered all of my questions and gave clear instructions on how to care for him when he got home to makes sure he’d be able to recover. Her demeanour really helped reassure me in the midst of a difficult night. Thank you!
Brought our little cat for overnight care after ingesting a foreign object while we figured out surgery options. The next day, the vet had taken the initiative to find the best value clinic to do the operation, avoided doing some unrequired
During the end of the pandemic, they would not let the owners come in with the pets and all that did was stress out the pets. My cat bit the vet and he has never bit anybody before in his life, He had been left waiting for a long length of
The care and compassion my pup George and I received from all the staff here, particularly Dr. Roman Diaz, was truly amazing. My dog was losing his balance and uncontrollably vomiting 30 minutes past midnight on New Years Eve and I was in
I want to thank Diane and Dr. Websdale for their awesome service last night. I took my pup Carl in as he was having cluster seizures. I was told over the phone there is a 2-4 hour wait - completely understandable - just like human emerg!
Brought kitten I had adopted from the Burlington Humane Society to this hospital that became very sick approx 8 hours after receiving her first set of shots. The vet on duty told me they would have to keep her in over night and gave me a
Wonderful vets and staff, they were very quick at saving my dog's life last night. He's now home resting and will be back to his shenanigans by TM. Thank you so much for your skills and urgent care to my dog. I highly recommend this place
On Feb 26 our little 4 mth old maltipoo ate a small piece of plastic that came off the patio blind. After a walk we noticed Luna vomit and became very lethargic and looked unsteady. We called the Burlington veterinary emergency clinic.
The staff and vet were fantastic. The female vet we had for our baby Rocky was great. She took the time to explain things to us and kept us updated. Our baby was in rough shape when we got there and got worse overnight to the point we
We called this after hrs service when my dog initially got injured. They said it would be an 8 hour wait so we took the drive to Thorold. In Thorold they have my dog Methadone and we brought him home. At approx 4 am my dog became
Absolutely wonderful people with kind hearts. I found a bunny struggling for life on the side of the road. No one would help, other than the people at this animal hospital. Again, very kind people!!
So very grateful to the staff who took such great care of Chewie. Very upfront with costs and explained clearly what was going on and answered all our questions. Thank you so much!!!
BVER performed orthopaedic surgery on my 5 1/2 lb chihuahua Molly. She not only recovered in excellent time, but she was treated like a princess. I highly recommend this facility.
Amazing! This is the 2nd time we've had to visit. Always the middle of the night! The vet and staff are incredibly wonderful! Highly recommended in case of emergency!
The staff were amazing, very kind and understanding to support our dog given his health crisis. Highly recommend using their services if necessary.
Outstanding emergency medical care for your pet! My Lab ate a man-sized glove during his leash-free time in the forest on a
Excellent, compassionate and fast service even though it was Canada Day. We were very grateful. Would definitely recommend.
