this is the secound time the man behind the bar has decided to tip him self! I tipped him 8 $ last year on a 20$ something order just for him to add 2 dollars to the tip and take 10$ so i stopped going here. Last night they was the only bar open on mass ave so we stopped in got a 4$ beer a modelo and a 9$ mule drink so that was 12$ even no taxes! I tipped him 3$ so that's 15 for the total.I check my bank statement and he tipped his self again an extra 5$ so my bill came out as 20$ ...you guys may look at it just as 7$ but i look at it as stealing. I can just imagine how many people this has happened to but they haven't realized it!

We stopped by Burnside Inn last weekend and I'm glad we did. I'll start with the only two negatives: 1) The place was packed (which is a good thing) but it makes maneuvering impossible; 2) The drinks were watered down, if not made incorrectly all-together (not sure if this is normal, but probably just a fluke since we've only been once). We did, however, thoroughly enjoy the multiple floors. In truth, we spent the majority of our time on the second floor with the live music. It was excellent and very reminiscent of a small dive bar feel with a live band. We will certainly be coming back soon to give it another shot!

This was my first trip to Burnside, and I'm still thinking about their lavender mule a week later... so, so good! Only the first floor was open when we stopped by - a bummer, but it sounds like if we had come by a bit later in the evening, we would have been able to explore the other floors. We couldn't use the outdoor patio either, as it was only big enough for one small group to fit comfortably. The bartender was super friendly, and the overall atmosphere was cool and laid back. If you're looking for a bright, airy spot to hang, this isn't it, but it is definitely worth stopping by for a drink (or two ).

This is a pretty classy place with great drinks. The bartender was pretty cool except it was really hard to understand him with the mask on. We tried asking about the other floors, since we wanted to check them out, but he didn't answer when we asked if they were open. Either way, drinks were delicious! We had the Kentucky mule, the pineapple mule, lavender mule, and strawberry cocktail. Sorry I don't know the names. But they were all good. Strawberry was my favorite whole my girlfriend and mom liked the pineapple best.

My husband and I have been coming here on the regular for a little over year now, and it never disappoints. The cocktails are great, the staff is so nice, and it's such a cool atmosphere. We love piano nights, especially the Broadway Sing Along on first Sunday's. This is the bar we bring our friends from out of town, and they always love it too! It can be pretty packed on the weekend nights, so I would recommend stopping in during the week when it's a little slower to get the full experience.

Found this place by chance and now it has become one of my favorites in Indy! The owners are so kind and have really turned this place into the spot to be! Such a unique backstory, an apartment above a bar converted into a 3 story house of drinking, live music, and fun. They have live music rotating through the first and second levels. There are 2 bars on the first and second levels, and the top floor has a lounge area and pool table. Drink to try: Pineapple Express Moscow Mule

Great place, each floor is a different environment. Depending on the night the middle floor can offer you anything from a local live band to a drag show. This makes Burnside a great location for any entertainment! The top floor is more for relaxibf and socializing there is a pool table and multiple couches. The wallpaper on the third floor is picture perfect and I highly recommend. Definitely worthy of an Instagram!

The only place I’ve been where the bouncer is drunker than the patrons Bouncer tried to fight me after failing to tell me to leave the sidewalk. The sidewalk is public not property of this establishment. But he went on a power trip and got on my face asking me to fight him. Luckily I was the sober one and just laughed it off but he seems like a liability to this establishment

Usually have a great time here however this time one of the staff yelled and got in the face of one of my friends because she couldn’t figure out the bathroom door. (You slide it by the way) he then proceeded to death glare our group the rest of the time we were there. We were so uncomfortable we left shortly after the incident. Will not be back!

Burnside Inn feels like the kind of Speakeasy where Dillinger might have drank his hooch, back in the 1930s, but it's actually a hip 3-level club, on Mass Ave, right in the middle of everything; with live music, cocktails, and beautiful people- plus a billiard room, it's the kind of place your whole gang will love. Hot tip: check it out.

Cool and unique place with three levels of fun. It was hard to squeeze in downstairs but managed to order a drink and sit and listen to some great live music on the 2nd floor. My friend and I found this place while visiting the area and was glad that we got to stop here!

There's a lot of stuff stuck to the ground on the outdoor roof top floor and there was hot air being blown up from the air conditioning machine outside. The ambiance was nice inside. There is a pool table and a blue room with a couch to lounge in. Very comfy vibe. The drinks come in fun cups. More

Very cool vibe here. We were in the first-floor space, which has a nifty retro hotel design. Attention to period detail is impressive. We thought we would be out of place as a not-young couple, but the demographic was varied. Even if you're not a hip Millenial, stop in and give it a try.

I’m not a huge bar person but really liked this place. Three stories of different setups and nice staff! First is like a piano bar, second floor - another bar, and the top floor - lounge area. 3-in-1! Really nice spot at a decent location and not overpriced.

Overpriced drinks, sub par old fashioned, and just a really ghastly atmosphere that reminds me of a British pub from the 1800 where the bartender is a doctor who performs surgery in the basement of the pub. Service sucked and I really disliked it. 0/10

Great place, great people! Truly a unique experience. I highly recommend stopping by this establishment if your in the area. From the live music, to the cozy “Top” floor pool room and sitting area. I will definitely be coming here more often.

The bartender with the long hair in a pony tail and mustache was terrible. I have been a regular for a year and he was terrible with his service. I’ll be letting my company know of the service and stop going here if this service is tolerated

Such an awesome atmosphere, the decor is perfect! I went there with a couple friends and we were the first people in there. We explored all floors, so cool! I want to go back when it's a full house. Oh, and the mules were faaaantastic!

Karaoke on Thursday is so much fun! Starts at 9:30 pm ends at 1:30 am! The staff and patrons are very friendly. Get there early if possible, parking goes fast! Like partying with your favorite friends and family members!

Kicked me out for leaning on a railing. No sign saying you can't lean on the railing. Bouncer has a complex. Drinks are mediocre. Better places to drink in Indy.

When it initially opened it was overrun by too many people. Now it has found its niche and has more outside soave. Truly a fun and inviting place to go. It is a tight squeeze in areas though. Give it a go!

I love Burnside. Three floors, pool table, Live musicians and some great mule drinks. It’s a good place to go hang out with a few friends, have some conversation and actually have a place to sit down.

One of Indy's best hidden gem bars! The live music and outdoor patio on the 2nd floor are a must whether you're starting or ending your night. Make sure you ask for an ice cream sandwich!
