We require from buildings two kinds of goodness: first, the doing their practical duty well: then that they be graceful and pleasing in doing it. The graceful CVS establishment at 88-06 serves both. The citizens of this great country who work there are hard people working deep into the starry night. They are not the least bit sluggish and always dear and polite in interaction. The pharmacy works like clock work and to the best of my knowledge I doubt a single customer has cause to complain ever. This apothecary if I dare call it, is exquisite in all its ways. Visit once and you will fall in love, especially with the young cashier who works the front, I swear she loves her job and isn’t having homicidal thoughts in the slightest. The surrounding area is the cherry on top. All the fine dining to choose from will make the glands salivate. My top tier recommendation is the Hammel 1 Stop Deli & Grocery. All the young kids from the neighborhood are out front and you can always be sure they will harry you with offers or try to sell you something, but what’s more of a delight to see than young entrepreneurial spirit. If that doesn’t satisfy your belly, they also have the wonderful La Cabaña Peruana; why travel to Peru when Peru is brought to you. Most importantly of all is ones well being, the area has no ruffians or ne‘re-do-wells, no not at all. And why would it, they live in these fantastically beautiful structures called the Hammels, after the German landowner Louis Hammel. I’m sure he would be just tickled to see what fine living establishments have honored him by forever cementing his legacy to these buildings. The Hammels are a welcoming place and I recommend when one finds the time to take a stroll through its lovely New York City parks. Maybe sit down on a bench and enjoy your meal and listen to excessively loud children sporting or even sometimes play fighting with fake firearms. So if your seeking a standout pharmacy with delightful amenities surrounding it, this is the place to be for you. Happy travels and enjoy!
My gripe is with the moneygram in the store and partially with cvs. I tried picking up money twice and both experiences were bad but the second was the worst of the two. I tried to pick up money my father in law sent for my daughter. The manager that was helping me said his system was not letting him dispense any money. I call moneygram and they said that the funds were showing up as dispensed, which I told them was not the case. they then said they can fix the problem once the store manager calls from the store line. The manager informed me that they are not allowed to call moneygram at all. And the moneygram rep stated they are not allowed to speak to cvs reps from the customer phone. My father-in-law then lodges a complaint and moneygram tells him that the matter has to be resolved over here. Needless to say we never got the money he sent, and he was never able to get his money back. Why have a moneygram machine in your store if you can't help resolve an issue when it happens. So disappointed with cvs and moneygram.
Going on hour 49 without a prescription that was ordered for me 2 days ago. I called them yesterday to check on its status, but I do think they should be the ones calling the customers if they know they don't have the medicine in stock. Yesterday they said they expected the medicine to come in after 2pm, but here we are today, Jan. 11th at noon and--crickets. (Although, I guess it still is technically after January 10th's 2pm!) Also a suggestion--I was in there recently and forgot to bring a bag, so that was my fault. They had run out of bags and offered no solution, but maybe they could sell reusable bags. Or, unless this is too much effort, they could page another worker to grab more bags from the back. I must admit that although I have worked at a drug store, I have never managed a CVS, so maybe those ideas are too far-fetched.
If there was a zero star They would definitely get it this place is disgusting the pharmacy is the worst I’ve ever been to. Because of long-term medication that I need I have to use a CVS according to my insurance plan So I chose this one because it is The only one I can find where I live I have been trying for over a month for them to get my prescriptions filled and not only are they saying they never have it after the doctor has called event but after calling this morning for 10 times and getting disconnected all the time it’s absolutely disgusting and frustrating and horrible and I do not recommend anybody goes to shops here for anything I am now contacting my insurance company to arrange for mail delivery because I refuse to shop in the CVS in Rockaway Beach it’s disgusting. I miss Rite Aide.
I try and keep away from this CVS based on horrible past customer service, dirty products on the shelves that were NOT clean—thick dust And dirt—especially on largest sized containers (liquid soap, etc.,...). They were CHRONICALLY understaffed—1 cashier with lines 1/2 way to the pharmacy at times. I don’t know if they’ve gotten any better, I do know that there were new managers about every other month. It’s basically a shame that just because this store is 2 blocks from the projects—a lot of customers were routinely underserved, unappreciated and downright disrespected. My God—it’s the only CVS I know without automatic doors. They’ve burnt me for life and I basically only get medication there and the odd item anymore.
Literally the worst pharmacy I have ever used. There is possibly one nice person behind that counter. The staff is the rudest most unqualified bunch of people I have ever encountered. unfortunately I have needed to be there way too often. Don't bother calling, they just hang up on you after keeping you on hold for 20 minutes-Just happened to me 3 times this morning! Even my Dr.'s office complains about having to deal with this particular CVS. I'm not sure if there is even a manager because no one seems to have any clue and everyone seems completely overwhelmed even when they are sitting around talking to each other. Bad behavior starts at the top and this place seems topless!
I’m giving this “pharmacy” 1 star because I can’t go any lower in my rating! The pharmacist starting from the lead pharmacist are very rude, disrespectful, condescending and speak to customers as if we are the scum of the earth and they’re too good to breath the same air that we do. What they fail to realize is that all businesses operate successfully by having satisfied customers. And when you’re in the medical field or any field dealing with customers directly, you should have a level of professionalism and respect towards them. A degree does not equate to a person being superior to another. This place is one of the worst places to get your prescriptions filled!!!
WORST PHARMACY DEPARTMENT EVER !!!! They never pick up the phone don't have drugs in stock make you run around calling dr unnecessarily because they claim they never got rx the whole staff is rude these people need to shut down or go through corporate training!!!! Like aren't you are pharmacy to help people which they never do !!! They only got one star bc in order for me to write my review ur forced to give 1 star but these people are horrible looking to call business bureau because this business is no good they leave u on hold for like an hour then they hang up the phone my children are sick and can't get their meds this place needs to shut down
This store because it’s located in Farrockaway has employees that don’t care to know nothing about the products they sell. Every time I call about something weather it’s the store front or the Pharmacy no one knows anything in the store location no one CVS CEOs really need to get on whole time type of toys they get they be highway they need they were going to Customer Service feel really need to know they product
Expect to be on hold when calling the pharmacy for an hour or so. In the past 3 months there has not been a instance where we called and someone answered before 45 minutes. They regularly have a problem with restocking prescriptions in a timely matter. More often than not, you will have to wait for them to have a medication delivered, so expect to wait another 3 to 4 days to have it filled.
Disaster of a store. They are not doing anything to take care of their staff. No plexiglass has been installed for the cashiers, unlike other CVS stores in "better" neighborhoods. And they are really understaffed, with it taking 20 minutes to get checked out with one item. Didn't feel clean or comfortable to spend time in there. CVS should be ashamed of itself for running a store this way.
Terrible service! People don't know their job. They changed brand of my vitamins and i asked the girl if the effect is the same, she told me - Hopefully.... Coming to pick up my order, women at the register puts chips in her mouth, food falls down on my package- That's disgusting! She couldn't answer none of my questions! She simply told me-I don't know... What kind of service is that??
I have to agree with the others. The times I've come to this CVS, the service has been horrible, both at the register and at the pharmacy when purchasing Claritin D! CVS needs to hire people with basic common sense/customer service skills. Customer service cannot be taught! It's an innate common sense based skill; one either has the skill or they don't! There's no teaching it!
Theyre not bad at all. The most i ever had to wait to fill a prescription was 8-10 minutes. That was only twice in 2 yrs. Even if u have to wait , they do have chairs on the side for u to sit in and ur not in anyones way and vice versa. The store is clean. They have hand sanitizer at the counter. They are nice people. Youre in. Youre out. Good bye
So the cashier told me they don’t develop films to send when online it says they do and I told her that and she just stared at me. Like if she would’ve given me an explanation then ok but idk who she thinks she is to ignore me. I understand you don’t like your job but don’t take it out on others if we did nothing wrong to you. It’s not our problem.
The staff here is great every time in person. I've never had any issues with customer service and find them to be very helpful.. Just don't even bother trying to call if you have a question regarding your prescription. They will leave you on hold until the end of time. CVS corporate pls hire more people that can do jobs like answering the phone :)
I've called twice in one day and both times I've been on hold for more than 30 mins..iam currently on hold on two different phones and still no one is picking...Grid forbid something is wrong either someone's medication and they can't get back to your store..THE CUSTOMER SERVCE OR LACK THERE OF IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE
Not all staff is bad but there are some bad apples that do not let this place rise up to the higher standards. I gave it three stars because I've waited on the phone for 15 minutes and in person for over an hour for y meds. To those staff members that are kind and courteous to clients auch as Ivanna...Thank you.
The worst pharmacy ever. Never have meds on time, have to wait for a few days for medication to arrive. it was never a day I had a positive experience. you would come in the morning to order meds, being told it will be ready in the afternoon, come in the afternoon and guests what, medication is not ready.
It's gotten better and they are trying but for some reason the associates there always seem to lose control weather it be with there emotions or assisting customers. I have seen it with there managers also so far the pharmacy staff have been great no issues there retail staff needs more attention.
Watching as the pharmacy staff laugh that a customers could not get his medication was horrible. I understand that employees want to go home on a Saturday and store policy are store policy but to laugh that a customer is upset that he can’t get his medication is cruel.
This is the worst pharmacy I have ever stepped foot in. It is filthy. Every time ive been there stand on line for half hour with one cashier while other workers do nothing. I can’t understand how cvs lets this happen. I will be transferring all my prescriptions
Worst pharmacy ever. Editing went there 6 days ago to buy my slimfast. Realized it was very slimy y and had residue in the bottom. Come to find out the damn thing had expired. Really CVS you really need to do better. Now becoming a health hazard.
was given wrong medication - colesterol instead of blood pressure. Went to DR. who prescribed additional meds because my pressure was so high. I realized meds were wrong (checked pills on line and found I had been given wrong pills) I was
This is by far the absolute worst pharmacy I've ever had my prescriptions at!!! It's a disgusting hot mess!! The employees in this location are so stale, worse than 10 days old bread!!! I had to wait over 5 hours in the damn store because
No staff maybe 2 at most, security is called if you look "suspicious". I also found it odd and very uncomfortable when I was looking at feminine hygiene products a male employee starts stocking the shelves right next to my hand... next to
Worst pharmacy ever, tried to get my refill at 12:15, had to talk to a pharmacist then wait on line for the 3rd time and at 1:20 i was told I'll have to come back because they are going on a break and my 1 pill refill wont be ready.
Talk about never answer the phone. Right now I’m on 45 minutes and 13 seconds and not one person to answer. It’s disturbing especially when you go in there and see five people behind that pharmacy counter and no one answers.
Everyone in the pharmacy should be fired. It took me a half hour to receive my pain medications. I shouldn't have to wait a half hour. I wont be sending my medicine here anymore. The lady was very rude to me at the register.
Pharmacy never answers phone. Call store front they transfer call to pharmacy and they still don’t answer leave phone number with front to ge given to pharm and they don’t call back What has happened. They used to be good
Every single time a prescription is sent to this location I end up having to wait for them to fill it. And I always come an hour or more after the time it's ready for pickup. There is no reason for this lack of urgency.
Very, very disappointed with CVS. Waited for antibiotics for 3 days. Just changed my Pharmacy. Advising my family members not to use this Pharmacy. It's a shame, used this place for 20 years. I wonder what happened.
Irresponsible people work in pharmacy department, 2 days I couldn't receive my antibiotics medication, that why I got infection in my ear. They don't care about patients but they receive a salary
Prices are a little higher here but then again you are at the beach in New York. This is right across the street from the Subway on the way to the beach so easy
My first time trying to use Aetna OTC, to no avail which was frustrating MS ELias was kind and patient with me. Also gave me customer ed ref to Aetna OTC
My visit today was great the manager at the store was very pleasant and helpful he assisted me and helped me find the items i needed
Always running out of medication don’t understand why I was going to Walgreens for 2 years always had my prescription…
Needs new management. I would close place down and open something better. Several expired items, rude workers, etc
Horrible - yesterday no staff to dispense medications are you kidding me
Amazing has gotten so much better keep up the good work!
