We visited Cafe Vita whilst visiting a relative in the Springvale area. We found the listing on Google Maps, the open plan seating area and clean facility is what drew me in. There was no reference to it being within the cemetary grounds, which may confuse some. However I had no issues locating it, walking in and seating ourselves down. No table or greeting services here but that's fine with me. The menu is brief and to the point, as they also have a selection of items at the counter to glaze over and choose from. The attendant at the cashier sadly was a bit of a let down, seemed very disinterested to serve customers, frowning and disinterested attitude. Overall a pleasant dining experience, the food and coffee was fantastic, wait staff excellent at delivery and taking away of plates. 4 stars.

27th October Mary p.Gratwick-sarll..1445 funeral..dear John..I was very disappointed @ the level of catering on the day..I chose the $17 odd 4 a group of 26 odd..I was given 2 believe it would be yes. Sandwiches with what finger food ..with vegetarian of 5 people ..u will no doubt be disappointed 2 know ..only sandwiches & every 2nd one was a form of egg..in effect a table gull of mostly egg sandwiches if I had been told that ..I would have chosen the more expensive menu..4 obvious reasons..there were a few sad looking danishes 4 sweet ..please take this n board as a positive rather than a negative feedback 4 future ..Jacqui ur attendant on the day was as accommodating as she could be & professional in her manner etc..Anastasia Smith..

I was not expecting the place to be good given its in the middle of a cemetery. I do not regret coming in to check it out. The cemetery itself is a beautiful place to go for a stroll. The Cafe was much bigger than u gad imagined and with modern decor. Next to it was a beautiful floral store. The food was really good! A limited menu but they also sell cakes and sandwiches on display. Ordered: Food: - Beef burger - gnocchi pomodoro Drinks: - Hot chocolate - Chai latte Will be coming back to try other dishes and dessert! They also had a cute little area to sit infront of an electric fireplace.

Cafe Vita is one of the hidden gems of the South East, nestled in stunning botanical gardens it offers a beautiful, warm, modern atmosphere, the kindest cafe team around, and exquisite restaurant quality food at a reasonable price, don't forget to try the scones, they are freshly made on the premises and are just perfect. My son loves that there is a playground on the deck and we love to go for a walk around the gardens after our visits as we greet special loved ones.

Went 2 a funeral at Springvale Cemetery Y/day . The establishment is open & roomy. Waited 4 ever 4 our coffee's untill we had 2 go 2 the service. Had 2 go up2 the counter & ask 4 them 2go . Which the staff kindly did . The Barrista said there was only one of her & she politely apologized . A bigger coffee machine & a 2nd Barrista might help . People dont want 2 be waiting over 15 minutes 4 coffee. Other than that the venue is really well furnished inside & out . The equal of any upmarket Venue in Melbourne.

What a beautiful place. First thing we noticed when we walked in was how reasonably priced everything was in the cafe. The lady serving us was courteous and helpful. Coffee was nice, food was just perfect. For a large cafe in the Springvale cemetery is was clean and welcoming. We came to visit a loved one and we were all pleased with our experience in your cafe. We will definitely be coming back when we visit our loved ones. Well worth a visit for any visitors of the cemetery. You won't be disappointed.

Visited here after visiting mum's memorial. They have a good selection of foods on the menu, but very limited for younger people and children. Maybe some big cookies would be nice to have on offer. The atmosphere was very loud inside, maybe some noise dampening needs to be installed. Outside was toasty warm under the heaters.

Tranquil place to be amidst the greenery. Outdoor and indoor seating. Tables couches and benches. Plenty of choice as to your perfect spot. Appreciate the good spacing between settings too. Food reasonable and decent quality and freshness. Service very slow, be prepared for queues and waits.

Have been here for morning tea, lunch and a catered finger food function and have not been disappointed so far. The food is attractively presented and tasty, with the cakes a highlight. The café space is open and airy, without tables being jammed too close together to increase capacity. I found the coffee good, but not great.

I live close by and there's not a lot of good cafes in the area. Glad i was curious enough to venture here given the location. It's a lovely botanical garden; quiet and peaceful. The food was very good. Would definitely come again to try the eggs Benedict. I had the chicken thigh salad which had avocado, mango, pickled cucumber, tomatoes and leafy greens and tortilla chips.

Nice clean cafe. Airy with neutral tones. Good spacing between tables too. The coffee was pretty good here. The scrambled eggs were pedestrian and ordinary though - pretty bland with minimal flavour. Service was just OK - good from some people, peremptory from others. My impression is that this place is a little too comfortable with its captured market and it needs a lift.

This is a lovely restaurant to have lunch at. I always think even though we are in the Crematorium it gardens are so beautiful you relax and enjoy your time there. The food is delicious I specially enjoy the salads with a quiche or a bread roll of chicken with waldorf salad. Coffee is wonderful too. There is a play area for the children. A great experience.

I love Cafe Vita. Great food. The jazz is always great and it is a lovely way to brighten a visit to loved one's graves. We often go for a glass of wine or coffee and food before going to my dad's grave. The cafe is always lovely and staff so helpful. Now we have a small child again, sitting outside by the playground was great for our 3 year old.

Beautiful setting and coffee.Unfortunately the grumpy, middle aged blonde woman serving everyone was negative, disrespectful and had a sour look on her face. Hopefully she's not here if people come back. Left a sour taste to an otherwise lovely Christmas Eve afternoon here. Thanks to the nice male waiter who apologized for her.

As a local, I love that I can come here, hang out, have a coffee, a meal and just chill. Consistently great coffee, (this is very important). Food is always delicious. Staff are fun, and polite, cafe is clean and a great place to catch up. It's so peaceful. Watching cheeky bird stealing sugar. Thoroughly recommend it.

Surprisingly good, given its location within the cemetery grounds. Well worth a visit even if you are not saying goodbye to a loved one.

Well, it is in the middle of a cemetery, so peaceful it certainly is! The surroundings are magnificent gardens are immaculate and a very relaxing and contemplative environment. The food and service is of good quality. (Don't know how this sits but on a good day would be a nice place for a light lunch any way.)

We love Cafe Vita et Flores. The food choice, and quality, is superb and the service is always of the highest quality. To top it off the inside and outside dining areas are comfortable and relaxing and well heated and cooled. The Devonshire tea is an absolute must. The scones are perfect.

Food was ok, although the pie and chips were very salty, however the coffee was good. But it was made up with a good atmosphere, a jazz bank playing.

This is my favourite restaurant. The food is so delicious and the atmosphere here is fantastic. The staff are always so friendly, helpful and accommodating. All the groundstaff do an amazing job to keep the atmosphere like a well-kept Botanical Gardens. I love the chai lattes!

We enjoy a coffee & cake with a friend at Cafe Vita every Wednesday. Excellent service, food and prices. Beautiful garden setting. We often walk amongst the flowers and trees afterwards.

Lovely, clean, well set cafe, with good coffee and food and helpful staff, delivering excellent customer service. Cafe looks onto beautiful gardens and is attached to the florist shop with parking and toilets very close by.

A quickfood place, but the food is good for all that, and service is slick. Given a sprig of rosemary for anzac day, which was a nice touch.

Love the atmosphere of this cafe and their coffee. Good quality of food with reasonable price. Only $ 6.00 for a bacon and eggs English muffin come with a hot plate. I feel blessed on a Sunday morning.

Lovely to sit out on the front under the beautiful shady trees on a warm day. Also has a decent menu.
