Aftet reading a couple of unfair and inaccurate reviews about cafe Tre Fontane I felt compelled to come to the defence of this marvelous cafe. It has been a favorite of mine for over five years. I don't visit as often as I'd like because I don't live in the area however if I did I would be there every day. I wouldn't have a moka anywhere else because its the only place that knows how to make it. They are regularly adding new items to their menu and I've never been disappointed with anything I have ordered. I love the environment and the staff are great.

Great cafe! I spent a little while here on the outdoor area with great coffee (and laptop) and that ‘local’ vibe. Quite busy! The sweets were so tempting! Last time I had a delicious thick rich real chocolate drink- you just won’t find anywhere else. Marcello the owner is very friendly too. It has a nice family /community vibe, just what’s becoming more rare these days. I’ll be back, and next time I’ll indulge in some sweets. They also stock a great selection of proper italian expresso makers. We need to support only local. see you soon!

The person who served us was very rude, without customer service skills. My mum went to pay via eftpos, and the person who served us rudely said "cash is preferred" and started tapping on this sign at the register that stated the same thing. He seemed very annoyed when my mum said she didn't have cash and paid eftpos anyway. You can't ask a customer to pay cash if they don't want to. My iced chocolate was also pretty average. Will not be coming back.

Charming and modest interior, no-nonsense food with good quality ingredients, and one of the best coffees I've ever had in Melbourne served scorching hot, as it should be! Walked in just to satisfy my craving for a salami sandwich, and probably found my new favourite brunch spot. They have a lot of homemade pastries that looks great. Definitely not my last visit!

Very nice little place to grab a flavourful coffee and a tasty bite. No frills, but just good service and very tasty Italian offerings. I absolutely loved my long macchiato and homemade sausage roll, and the relaxed setting. I was served almost instantly, and not unnecessarily bothered beyond that. No worries; just perfect. Great value for money as well.

A friend who lives nearby took me here for a coffee. She said that her son had recommended the place. It's a charming and unassuming little cafe. We both ordered flat whites. Probably the best coffee I have had in Melbourne. And I consider myself an aficionado. I bought a couple of donuts and they didn't disappoint either. Genuine review.

While sitting in this cafe for about an hour, I saw several customers enter and interact with the staff. I found it interesting that without exception the customers were more friendly than the gentlemen working at this cafe. We felt unwelcome. The coffee itself was quite good and is why I still give this cafe three stars.

This is our favourite coffee shop in Ivanhoe. We love coming here as it is family iwned and operated, two brothers and their mum are always around to have a chat, great coffee, lovely fresh home made sandwiches, pizza and doughnuts. Indoor and pavement tables available which is nice on a blue sky Melbourne day!!

It feels like an experience from my childhood when I used to go to Lygon st with my father. The two owners are warm and engaging and their coffee is magic, Ivanhoe is so lucky to have you. Please don’t forget the food, the home made Sicilian donuts are otherworldly. Don’t forget to come out and spend money here

Lovely ,small, characteristic Sicialian cafe..delicious hot chocolate & biscuits..really reminds me of many happy times in Sicily. Service is quiet, friendly and not invasive...a nice touch is a tasty little mouthful which is served with your drink..has a goodly number of clients one senses.

Only went in to get take away coffee. Not alot of room to move inside. Coffee was average even though recommended from friend. Would like to try the food as it did look nice.

Tre Fontane is recognized as the coffee lovers "must go to" destination in Melbourne. This long-established institution is Ivanhoe's little piece of Italy showcasing the best that a traditional Sicilian Espresso Bar/Cafe has to offer. Highly recommend!

Smooth long black with golden krema made by an experienced barista ~ excellent morning coffee ~ full of flavour. Great cafe for a quiet coffee and perfect place to read the paper. No fuss customer service. Definitely worth visiting.

Travelling from Sydney I was fortunate enough to stumble across Tre Fontane. A fantastic reminder of Italy with beautiful coffee and a great conversation with the brothers. Will definitely be back here.

Feature excellent coffee, coffee making supplies and roasted coffee 'beans'. Quirky but very welcoming ambience. Very attentive and friendly proprietors. Try their home-made food. Sicilian donuts yummy!

A cafe that has a nice selection of cakes, small bites and most importantly excellent coffee. there's a reason why it has been around so long it's because they do the simple things absolutely perfect.

Nestled in the heart of Ivanhoe this small cafe has everything you need. Its welcoming and the bread is freshly baked and yummy. Even the coffee is great. The shop is full of goodies.

A really nice small cafe that seems to know and love coffee. A reasonable selection of pastries- both commercially and locally baked. The fresh blueberry muffin was superb.
