I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place. I recently came back to Seattle for the first time in a little over 10 years to see if I wanted to move back. Putting aside this review for a second, I can honestly say the best of Seattle has gotten better and the worst of Seattle has gotten worse. Focusing again on this review, Caffé D'arte is it nice example of some of Seattle's best. The baristas are pleasant. They're also professional, and the espresso drinks they make are fantastic. They're also perceptive enough to know when you want to just be left alone, or happy to chat with you if you have questions about the area or just need to get a quick thought out in the open. The atmosphere at the cafe is bright and calm, and the cafe itself is very clean. My favorite Cafe used to be just down the streets, or rather across the way from Pioneer square, but after finding this Cafe I've decided that this might be my favorite. You truly can't beat the quality of service and espressos here. Might I add, the location is second to none. They managed to retain enough of the original building to keep it historically interesting, while upgrading enough to keep it comfortable. It's across the way from the mutual Life building, built some time in the late 1800s to early 1900s, which currently houses the magic mouse toy store, and it's also across the way from Pioneer square. There's always plenty of people watching, and the view is always beautiful regardless of it's the brightest of days or the darkest and rainiest of days. And in case this matters to you, because it matters to me, the Wi-Fi is fast. If you drink here, don't forget to tip well. The barristas have definitely earned it

Well I haven't been here in awhile but I came in this morning and I noticed that the lady who normally is working apparently has the day off there's two younger kids working this morning and are on the mask attack. I'm sitting here watching after I received my coffee that wasn't made until I believe that she was trying to get me worked up to no avail anyway she just slid two chairs up at the front door with homemade signs apparently now on top of the mask you need to show proof of vaccination. These two have not had to make any drinks or meals sence the signs went up. They are laughing and having fun behind the counter. People are slowly leaving looking at the signs in place now , not one more customer has chosen to enter.

With my family, headed in for coffee before the Mariners game, Saturday Aug 18th. Excellent coffee....but...when I let the staff know the rest room was out of paper towels, the young woman behind the counter, who was eating, stared at me and said, " Take it easy. I'll get to it." As I left, she and the other woman laughed and giggled. Won't return. Thank you Caffe D'arte for thoroughly addressing my concerns. Your responses were immediate and I appreciated your genuine communication with me. After our dialogue, I would be happy to return to Caffe D'arte with the sincere expectation that my experience would be very different. It sounds like my experience was NOT the normal, friendly courteous visit! My thanks again for listening and responding to my concerns.

I liked this cafe'. It was warm and inviting, the coffee was pretty good and there is comfy seating or a counter if you want to hang out there. It reminded me of what a coffee shop might have been pre Starbucks. It's got a great corner location so you can watch the world go by. The presentation of my Macchiato was the best I ever had, complete with a chocolate and sparkling water - awesome. If there is something I would like to see, it's a friendlier waitstaff. Not that they weren't nice, they were. Yet I felt like they were just going through the motions. Granted I feel the exact same way about Starbucks, so no better no worse. Yet give me a reason to come back beyond the great presentation !

Latte was ridiculously well made. Perfect, I'd say. A lot of Seattle cafes serve coffee with floral or fruity notes to the flavor, or otherwise it tastes burnt (a la Starbucks,) and i hate it. This place had the perfect Italian style roast with that smooth yet bold flavor and a hint of smokiness. And only 65¢ extra for milk alternatives or extra espresso shots beats the $1 or more most places charge you. Would definitely go back. The danish and muffin we had were really tasty too.

Service was slow. They only seemed to have one person working the cafe. Food options extremely limited, I didn't see anything I wanted so I just bought a chocolate croissant. The croissant had an odd secondary taste I didn't like that much. Service was a bit sloppy; for example they had wi fi in the building but if I hadn't been told by a friend in advance of coming, I would've never known: both wifis for the cafe are password locked, and the passwords are posted nowhere in the cafe. The server was friendly and it was a comfy enough place to sit for a while though.

Absolutely amazing coffee and espresso. The batista was super nice and really knowledgeable. She was really precise with creating the perfect latte and americano❤️ definitely try the pistachio mocha latte!

Honestly for a coffee shop in downtown Seattle on a rainy day it was a nice environment to be in, with a great music playlist and ample room to sit and talk with someone and stay out of the rain. The mocha frappe that I ordered tasted really great, it didn’t taste too sweet and it didn’t taste like every other mocha frappe but instead had it’s own flavor, which I really enjoyed. I’ll definitely be back!

I started coming here at the start of the pandemic. (As did many of my coworkers and customers). Nothing else was open on a regular basis. And as an essential worker, I just wanted my daily coffee. Their coffee drinks surpassed other coffee shops, and much imagination was put in to making drinks special! The staff are awesome and personable and care about their customers. I see many regulars in there each day. Taking a break from work and walking up is the highlight of my day!!!

An Italian cafe with Great coffee! Baristas are phenomenal! Such a beautiful building, it's clean inside & out. Lovely place not only to grab the best coffee but sit quietly and get some work done. And it's almost in the center of old Seattle, only a block or two from the ferry and both stadiums.

I was born and raised in Italy. I think I know something about good coffee. And I can guarantee you that this coffee is really as good as in Italy. Over the past 12 years I have lived here in the US and have always found many coffe shops that served a fake espresso, often just concentrated and too acidic coffee. But here I finally found a bit of my distant and old country. I recommend it to all coffee lovers. it was a relief for me.

  • Kaitlyn O'Brien

the barista that is usually working during the week to make drinks is rude for no reason. my coworker and I ordered a blended coffee drink and she straight up said "sorry, i don't know why people order these drinks so early" to another customer that was patiently waiting for his coffee. they were /clearly/ our drinks and we were /clearly/ waiting for them. she needs to work on her customer service skills.

I don’t know what’s more disgusting... the fact that guests put their feet with shoes on the couch (on which there is still dog poop) or the staff who apparently doesn’t care about that - “I’ll wipe it away”- yes that’s really then “no problem” hygiene wise. If this location treats hygiene and cleanliness everywhere like that then my once fav cafe is gone

  • Barry Almeria

The place is too small. Accomodation is not spacious. And there's a sign saying "PLEASE NOTE THAT DURING BUSY TIMES, WE MAY ASK YOU TO MOVE IF THERE IS A LARGE GROUP OR FAMILY THAT NEEDS A SEAT". Seriously?? The table is small enough to accomadate 2-3 people to seat comfortably. And the barista today is not friendly. Never coming back to this place.

  • Peter A D

I love the coffee but have never been to this location. I was attending the torch light parade with my wife and walked many blocks out of our way to avoid Starbucks. Unfortunately Google said it was open till 7pm and the man at the store carrying out trash said it closed at 6pm. The corporate coffee giant across the street gets my money again.

  • Jess Nault

Awesome drinks. Simply the best. We drive out of our own city, fifteen minutes away, and pass all the other cafes, for their drinks. They can get busier than an international airport cafe, with all the tourists etc, but don't fret- they're fast too. Staff is fantastic.

The baristas were so sweet and amazing! This was the only place in a 10 block area that would allow us to use the restroom if we were paying customers. We were desperate, and now found a new coffee spot when we are waiting to go to a Hawks game. Thank you!

Lived in Rome for two years and Caffe D’Arte is THE most Roman coffee outside Italy. Their cappuccini served in small cups and drunk in-house, are exactly like those you’ll find in Rome in taste, temperature, and consistency. And when I visit friends in New York, their #1 requested hostess gift is a bag Caffe D’ beans. Bravo!!

  • Ephrem Haile

They have excellent espresso compare to other in Seattle but the guy stand behind the register very weird, Horrible customer service, clueless employees. During my last purchase. Specially I’m not recommended at all this place if your skin color is Black. I want say Thank you for all women employees working there.

A Seattle institution. Great coffee, rich and robust. And the staff is just amazing. Had a fun chat with the barista and the latte was perfect company waiting in the ferry line. Support real coffee, in real places, for real seattleites! (And tourists!)

Best roasted coffee in Washington. I drive about forty miles to replenish my whole bean stash. I have been a customer for over 10 years. They beat the competition for flavor hands down! Maybe important to some, the staff is always friendly, attentive and most of all never messed up my order!

I like this place. Though it says Italian coffee there is no guarantee you will get it done Italian way. I lived in Italy and I used to have latte macchiato. The is milk with drops of coffee. I asked them for that and they gave me cafe macchiatto which is coffee with drops of milk.

  • Michael Petrone

Cafe D'Arte is without a doubt the best most amazing tasting coffee you will ever drink. Whether you go into their one shop in Seattle and have them make your drink or buy a pound and make your own,, you will not find a better coffee. In so happy I discovered them 30 years ago.

Terrible service I ever had. One of the staff gave a wrong drink and the card back very unkindly. I'll never ever visit here again. If you're Asian, you'd better go somewhere else nicer and please don't end up being upset in here even during the last day of your trip.

  • Jeff J

They should warn you when ordering that they don't make cappuccinos. I waited a long time after hearing someone call out a latte. Later it was explained to me that they just make a latte when someone orders a cappuccino. You can't put "latte art" on a cappuccino!

  • Philip Belcher

An authentic cafe with an Italian feel as opposed to the overhyped mass production of the mega chain that pretends to serve coffee. Highly recommended by this Australian from where Starbucks failed because they couldn’t compete with real cafes like this one!

  • Hendra Wijaya

Seemed like a promising place to go. We had good coffee here but lacking pastries and things to eat. Went early Sunday morning and the place smelled terrible. We got out coffee and could not wait to get out of there. Not the best part of town unfortunately.

  • craig threlkeld

Sometimes when you order a doppio ristretto you don't expect to wait ten minutes for it, even when there is no line. That stated, though I no longer drink their coffee often (no longer on a transit route for me) the coffee was just as perfect as I remember.
