California Flood Insurance came through for me in a big way. I was in the process of closing a commercial loan when the lender dropped a bomb on me literally hours before signing closing docs. They informed me that my property was in a flood zone and that I needed to obtain flood insurance or my loan would not fund. They new this months before and overlooked it until the day I was to sign the closing docs. I tried my insurance and no go, they didn't offer flood coverage as most do not. I then contacted a broker who quoted me $15,000 for coverage which was significantly less than government "affordable" insurance for $25,000. In 2017 when I purchased my home, I found out that it was in a flood zone (although it really isn't) and to get a loan, I had to get flood insurance. At the time, the cheapest premium I could find was roughly $1800/year. Every year, it kept creeping up and this year, I got a bill for $2100! I had been receiving ads in the mail about how I could be paying less for flood insurance so I finally decided to shop around. Krista Z. from California Flood Insurance contacted me to get some additional information (after I filled out their online form) and wrote up a policy that would cost me $760 (plus a one-time $300 fee that will not be charged after this year). That's a savings of over $1300! Krista made the process very easy and even went above and beyond by looking up information that I was uncertain about. The only thing I had to do was to call a mortgage agent from my lending company and have them provide my mortgagee clause to California Flood Insurance. I was worried that this was too good to be true, but it was all legit. I'm a very happy customer.

I was searching for low-cost flood insurance and came across California Flood online. Since I live in California and there are usually special requirements, I figured it was a good idea to use a broker based in California. I spoke to Craig Yost who went over everything very carefully, making me feel comfortable in making a switch to a private insurer instead of continuing with FEMA/NFIP. My original insurance agent lapsed on my flood insurance policy, then said the price trippled. I was in shock since everything is on auto pay and in this case, my lender had sent the funds through my escrow account. Long story short, Cali did a way better job. I was not in a flood way but a 100 year flood plain. We had just built and had to meet all the new requirements. We sent the documentation to Cali Flood and got it handled with our documentation from the survey company. Price was right on and will use them over and over, other agent didn't do her homework or ask questions and wanted us to pay 3x the rate. Called in on a Sunday for a quote... was called back the next morning by Craig who made this the easiest decision we have ever made. Dropped our rate from 15k per year to 2.8k per year. To beat all, when the bank started to push back on us because they were the ones that recommended the other company, Craig stepped in and spoke to them directly quoting the the regulations and coverages for the state where we reside. The only thing I had to do was ask for the quote and sign the check. This was by far the easiest decision I have ever made.

Such a streamlined, easy process! Submitted a request for a quote online, and received a quote quickly through email. Our mortgage company required flood insurance, and my main insurance company insisted that I needed to get an elevation certificate for our new house prior to them issuing flood insurance. I needed flood insurance for a new home purchase. With ridiculously high premiums offered by FEMA I looked elsewhere for coverage. The premium for coverage through Cal Flood cost about 1/6 of FEMA coverage and was acceptable to my lender.
