Parking garage
"A "must place to go" if you visit Austin, TX"
"My review is only regarding parking garage A"
"First two hours were free as long as you stay within that time frame"
"Parking was not free for the first two hours"
"So the garage is supposed to be free, but every time I come for the weekend, there’s someone charging 20 dollars to park"
A "must place to go" if you visit Austin, TX. If you're lucky, you may be joining groups and listen to a guide. A lot of security from outside and inside. We found the monument to those soldiers that went overseas after 9/11 outside the archive building. A masterpiece so beautiful and at the same time, overwhelming. It's move you to pay respect to all the soldiers that fight over the years for this nation and lost their lives. You can even feel the sadness reflected on the faces of the wife and kid representing all the families left behind. That's The Price of Liberty.
My review is only regarding parking garage A. Repaint the direction arrows that are on the ground. They are fading. Also, please post direction signs leading from one level to the next. Several times I thought that I was headed up, just to discover that I was back at the street ready to exit. Come on Austin. Treat your visitors a bit better. Street parking in that area is already a headache. Parking garages should offer some level of relief.
First two hours were free as long as you stay within that time frame. Had to pick up my temp permit to park on the restricted parking off Congress in the morning and 11th before work. Walked to the DPS building off 15th and walked right back to my car. Very few offer more than a half hour of parking but this one is just right.
Parking was not free for the first two hours. I was charged $20 according to my credit card statement. I timed my parking, it was 1 hour and 39 minutes. Yet I was charged $20. This is super fishy and unethical! Where does $20 even come from? The most listed is $12 for 7 hours and 31 minutes or a lost ticket for $12.
So the garage is supposed to be free, but every time I come for the weekend, there’s someone charging 20 dollars to park. Moreover the lady that worked there was extremely rude when I asked why she was charging when the parking there is supposed to be free. She said “If you’re not paying, back up and leave”.
Great place to park if you're going to the Capitol or Bullock Museum, and a decent place for most of downtown Austin. Rates are very reasonable and there is usually a human being to help if you have issues with something. Just be careful to not park in a reserved spot!
The only reason for 4 is because we went on weekend and online it says free parking for less than 2 hours but there was an event and due to that u have to pay $20 for parking. Which is not bad, but should they should mention that.
when we visited it was $10 for the entire day and almost completely empty. great parking spot super close to the capitol and downtown. lots of scooters and bikes nearby as well if you’re looking for some quick transportation
Cheap I’ve never seen such cheap parking rates in the heart of the city, close by the capitol AWESOME . Free on Sunday’s . Capitol is just 2-3 minutes walk from the parking garage. …
Because it was an events day (Texas Book Festival), the parking cost was $20 flat and it was clearly mentioned at the entrance. I preferred to park in an open space a couple of blocks earlier
Ample of space for parking . The parking space for each car is wide enough. When you exit there is a live person to take fees. First two hours are free if you are visiting the Capitol
It is a shame that after 6 pm nobody's was there and you can't pay, no automatic machine or an app, come on people is 21 century and is Texas, and the capital. Shame on you guy's.
FOR ALL F1 (formula 1) / COTA I'm going to formula one this year and just wanted to inform the people confused on the price that it will be an even $20 for 1 day of parking
Free parking! What else can I say! Very close to the capitol building (right across the street). ***We went during COVID-19, so things might have been different.
Easy to get into and leave. Stay under 2 hours and it's free. Right across the street from the capitol building. Best place to park while visiting the capitol.
The parking garage is spacious and clean. Walking distance to the Capitol. And it is FREE for the first two hours! Enough for an in-depth tour at the capitol.
Good location for seeing the capitol. We parked here and walked all the way to congress avenue bridge and it was fine. Parkinf feels safe amd well maintained
FREE PARKING $0 charge if you back with in 2 hours .Otherwise they charge but very reasonable. it's a great Benifit for capitol visitors. Highly recommend.
I wish Mrs.Gladys at checkout was nicer.Parking is ok because we have to use it due to working in the area. After a long day a quick hi and bye would be ok
Easy in and out. Just need to drive and turn slowly as the garage space is kind of tight. Even with two events nearby I was still able to find a spot.
Too much voter suppression and taking women's rights away. Also need payout from Lt. Gov to PA for voter fraud discovery. Deadbeat won't pay up
Good place to visit and walk inside the Austin Capital. Specially check out the basement and see all the Senators from the 1800 centery.
Excellent, clean and friendly staff, very convenient super easy get inside, and free. The Capitol and parking garage. Highly recommend
Great place to park! 1 block away from the Capital. Very clean and safe. Highly recommend to come during the week its not so packed!!
I opted for the garage to park out of the sun. During the week, first 2 hours are free and $1 per each additional hour up to $12.
Huge parking structure right next to the state capital. Free parking for first two hours and reasonable prices after that.
I was visiting the place as a tourist. And I found this parking lot near to the capital building. No fee till two hours
Parking garage on the right side of the State Capitol Monument. Only couple of hundreds yards away. Highly recommended.
Very convenient location to walk the ground and the capitol. Bikes and scooters are available to get around town, too.
First two hours were free! Everywhere else I looked started at $6+. Plenty of parking and great location with ease
Great place but is closed on Monday's. Should try the electric bikes out side the Capitol building, it was fun.
Conveniently located nearby the State Capitol, this is a multi-stage garage to park if you plan a visit there
Parking is free under 2 hours and is conveniently located a few minutes walk away from the Capitol building.
Beatiful place to visit, if you have the chance do not miss to visit, take the time and walk around.
Very close to the State Capital, the charges are decent, very clean area and well sercuity is good.
The first two hours are free and additional hours are close to $1 per hour that is not bad at all.
Nice facility. Free most of the time. Although it could charge $10 on weekends with special event.
Great place to park. Seems like there’s always a space close to Moody, amphitheater, easy access.
Always park here during the weekend. It’s usually free Closest parking to Capitol & Waterloo park
Free Parking for the first 2 hours which you can walk the capital grounds in about that much time
$12 for the full day but really close to the Texas Capitol and easy to get in. 1st 2 hours free.
The parking garage was quick and easy! Free for under 2 hour visits (can't beat that downtown)
Really easy to get in to and leave. Incredibly ideal location and fair price for parking.
Close parking for the National Emergency Management Advanced Academy (NEMAA) graduation!
Very efficient, and FREE for the first 2 hours. A beautiful park right across the road.
Tight fit in my truck, but plenty of parking on the roof. Easy access to the capitol.
Very central parking spot with easy access to many tourist and government locations
Parking is free if it is 2 hrs or less and affordable if you park for more time.
You typical parking garage. No bathrooms but great for late night RC car racing.
Convenient and not too pricey. It's only about a half a block from the Capital.
Great to have a parking so close to the Capitol. Good rescue for the visitors.
