This place is incompetent. It’s no surprise 2 of their doctors have left. I had arranged for blood work to be ran on my dog and I was told that these tests can be ran by the clinic. They even sent me a quote via text. Then I arrive today and they tell me they can’t run the tests that I requested and that I should go to a neurologist to conduct a simple urine test that is sent off to a lab. Not only that, but they expertly gas lighted me by telling me that I had requested 2 other random tests that I never requested. After showing them a text from their phone number confirming they would run the tests I had asked for, they backtracked and agreed to conduct the test. They then took my dog back for like a minute to get pee and were like oh no the dog won’t pee, you should go to a neurologist. So they did a huge dance to avert running a test that they had agreed to run. You guys need to hire a business consultant to teach your staff how to properly communicate instead of gaslight. Not that hard to Take urine and send it to a lab, thanks for the wasted trip and pulling my blood from my dog for tests I didn’t ask for! UPDATE: The hospital manager sent me an email notifying me of a termination notice of our relationship. It’s funny but it appears that the hospital manager has not matured past the 5th grade and this is their gotcha moment. They could’ve also acknowledged and seen their faults but this is their response. If you love your animal don’t come here. I doubt their staff even likes working here

My wife and I took our dog to Carmel Road Animal yesterday. Vet suggested a blood test, my wife was told that my pet may have internal bleeding. We then were charged $300. and sent away with a referral for an ultrasound. My wife was told that an ultrasound would be an additional $2000. We left and went to the referred vet (CARE) who by the way did an excellent job (Thank You CARE). CARE then examined my dog and informed my wife that as per tests results (done at Carmel) that no matter what we do the outcome was not a guaranteed. They (care) suggested our dog be humanely euthanized. As hard as this decision was last night we lost our lil guy. We wanted to extend our gratitude to CARE unfortunately we can not say the same for Carmel Road Hospital they did nothing,but tell us he was sick, we knew he was sick, why else would we bring our dog to them.. We left Carmel feeling helpless with no answers, they have zero care for our loved ones, I would not recommend this place to anyone not even an enemy.

This team of outstanding women have been nothing short of incredible. I walk by every morning to give pets to the resident cat and it’s always the highlight of my morning. I was out of town with my cat when he had to be taken to ER Vet twice. I called in to see if they could help and they saw him the same day ASAP. Dr. Jones went above and beyond with the procedure done the next day. Those ladies loved my fur baby like he was one of theres, walked me through all of the next steps, recommended a new diet (he ate all of it after he wouldn’t touch food for days), and never hesitated to answer my 1000’s of questions. My cat has not been in pain, upset, or out of sorts since the procedure. The price was extremely reasonable and less that 25% of what I was told by other places. If you are considering using this vet for your needs - I would recommend them to anyone. Thank you for saving my boy ladies!!

Dr Gold is a great vet. The staff needs to learn to communicate. I brought my kitten in as part of an adoption to get his last booster and rabies shot. The organization I adopted from had sent them numerous messages that they were covering the costs as part of the adoption. Once I got ready to leave they wanted to try and charge me. Had to call adoption organization and they again said they had sent and talked to multiple people explaining that this was part of my adoption and they were covering the costs. She said the staff doesn’t communicate with each other. The first person should have put a note in the computer and then everyone else would have been up to date with what was going on. Instead I get treated like I’m not telling the truth.

We had been unhappy with the service at our previous vet so switched to Carmel Road Animal Hospital early this year and have been extremely happy with our decision! We have 2 dogs and they love to this vet. Their office and rooms are all very clean, the staff is all knowledgeable, experienced, friendly and helpful and they do a great job explaining our pets health. They give appropriate opinions and they’re not super salesy or pushing unnecessary things like our last vet office. Another thing I like is that they cash you out in the room, which is super helpful and less stressful than in the lobby with multiple pets all around. I highly recommend this vet!

First visit here today. Vet tech Caroline was awesome, and listened to my concerns, and my dog absolutely loved her. Dr. Gold was also very thorough and nice, and I'm glad to actually have a place where some of the exam happens in the room and not all in the back away from the owner. Copper loved everyone he met and we will definitely be back when the next time comes for a vet visit! Glad this location was recommended to me from a previous client of theirs. And happy they bring Dr. Benitez in for TPLO surgery, as my pup will need his second one in the future. She did his first one and was amazing and very kind.

We were at a vet prior to transferring to Carmel Road and we already love it here. The staff is incredibly personable and easy to communicate with. On our first visit, they knew our pup and acknowledged him the second he walked in the door. The doctor spent time discussing options with us rather than just treating our pup and taking our money. My husband and I love how this team communicates and we know our dog is in great hands. We truly believe they are invested in what’s best for our dog and his health. Completely satisfied with our transfer here!

My first visit to Carmel Road Animal Hospital was this week when I had a bit of an urgent situation with 2 very sick pups. They were able to secure an appointment for me right away. Everyone was tremendously kind, very sincere, loving to my pups, and made sure I was getting the best care without breaking the bank. All of this makes a huge difference, especially when you’re in crises mode. I was so impressed I have made this my new vet for regular visits! A special thank you to Bailey and Dr. LeDain! This veterinarian hospital was exceptional and treated my 15-year-old dog like a queen. We were new customers with a last-minute scheduled appointment. I was able to schedule a same day appointment, get x-ray, and meds all at this location. I cannot not say enough about how kind and knowledgeable the staff was! Dr Maffeo and technician Anna answered all of my questions and treated pipsqueak as if she was their own pet. I highly recommend this office for anyone who has a pet that they deeply cherish!

Our cat came down with blood in his urine on New Year’s Eve. I called no less than 15 vets with no luck getting him in - even the super expensive 24/7 emergency vets had paused or stopped intake because they were full. You guys got us in, treated our cat with compassion, and didn’t break our bank. We are so grateful. If you had not of taken us in or had been unaffordable, I don’t want to think about how much Finnegan would have suffered. Thank you. He’s making a good recovery.

Highly recommend their personal care for the furry members of your family! We found Carmel Road Animal Hospital when our Cat, Ella, needed emergency foreign object removal surgery on a Saturday. They were patient and kind while explaining surgery needed. Ms. Carol and Dr K helped save our kitten. They also worked with us on payment and fit our family’s emergency fund. It’s been 4 months since and she has been completely recovered for awhile now. Happy and healthy!

Very nice staff and vet,but.......be careful, they say first visit free, so you see this and want to go. Well they never mention during the visit what they are doing and what each test will cost. There very fast Doing all of this them 2 prescriptions and I walked out of there with a bill over 200.00 dollars. One eye drop 81.00 dollars. If you have to watch your dollars like I do with A 15 yrs old dog, be sure and ask a lot of questions before they start.

After moving back to Charlotte I learned that our prior vet had retired. I was worried about finding someone who loved my babies, but the staff at Carmel Road Animal Hospital were all fantastic with my 10 year old, diabetic baby! I made another appointment for my anxious husky after seeing how patient they are AND how they listen to your concerns fully. I wasn’t pressured into doing/buying anything which is so appreciated and hard to come by.

I brought my cat in to be sedated for x-rays at 9:15 on Thursday morning. I told them when asked that I wasn't sure if she had eaten or drank anything. 4 hours later, I was told she couldn't be sedated and had to come back the next day. No apology. No notice when the appointment was made she couldn't have any food or water the night before. If this was the case, I should have been told that I should bring her home and return the next morning.

From day one, we and our Border Aussie, were treated cordially and excellent service. Doctor is amazing with our Chase and even has the patience to deal with my kids when they come with me to take Chase in. Doctor always discuss everything is being done to our dog, what all the procedures involved and costs and advices on what he recommends is best for Chase and the whole family. Great animal hospital!!!!

A new vet lady was so patient with our baby. The assistant also. She did a physical exam in the room which I’ve never had and now I’ll always require. And our dog loved and made the vet a better vision for him. The assistant broke all the pricing and importance of everything down for me. And showed him love too. The team at Carmel Road Animal Hospital is absolutley phenomenal with my 7 month old puppy Jak. He usually has anxiety when visiting new places and it was great to see him so comfortable with everyone there. We brought our dog, Apollo, to Carmel Animal Hospital last Saturday. Our regular vet was closed and we gad a minor emergency with him. They were able to get him on right away and took great care of him! The doctor, vet tech and ladies up front were very kind and helpful. This is my first time coming to this vet with my Husky Levi. The tech. and the Dr. were amazing. I think Levi wanted to stay with them. They were so helpful and AMAZING. This is the third vet I have tried in the Charlotte area, and by far my favorite! The Vet Techs and Doctors spent a lot of time talking to me in person and on the phone going in-depth over what their treatment plan was and explaining each detail to me. I truly feel that my pet is in good, competent, hands when I take her here!

My cat had a medical emergency Saturday morning. I was a walk-in and Dr. Gold saw her right away. I really appreciate the care and time that was given. Carmel Road Hospital is Amazing! They have taken very good care of both of my dogs. My German shepherd suffered from degenerative myelopathy and was laid to rest and they were so understanding and made sure I understood everything. Just an amazing place overall.
