I usually buy from CEX a fair bit online and in store, only ever had 1 issue with an online order but besides that its been very good. However at the Nepean store I came in this week after not being there for a while (still bought stuff online though), and noticed all the staff im used to (replaced? swapped?) were absent, and replaced by new staff (on that day anyway). No big deal I thought....dead wrong. Came in for some accessories, had to ask staff (as they are not on shelves, theyre in the staff section). I asked about the first item, they checked with a supervisor because they didnt know what the item was because its "not what theyre into" (never heard that before at any store), turned out it wasnt not in stock (fair enough) however after saying to buy it online from another store, staff member simply said "see you later" even though I was after other items. I simply walked out. Now naturally this is not a reflection of cex as a whole of course because ive been to other stores with no issues and this one multiple times. The previous/regular staff that are there have always been real friendly and keen to discuss what theyre selling. These new ones are more dismissive? dont know. Dont know whats going on there but ill reduce the physical visits for now.

Really disgusted by the service from the young guy where the role of ‘team leader’ has gone to his head. I purchased a PS3, which was the better looking of the other 2. Got home, turned it on and there was no sign of life, tried about 4 different HDMI cables and none worked. I went back to the store the next day where it was confirmed the HDMI port was not functioning. I requested a refund as the other consoles were in a disgusting state. I was told this is not possible and that they can only offer store credit or I can pick another console, which I disagreed with politely. I was then smirked at and pointed to various store policy posters around the store, so left with little to no choice I had to pick the disgusting other PS3 that I did not want. Honestly anything electrical I would stay well away from! Yes they offer 24months warranty, but this comes with a lot of hassle. It wouldn’t hurt to clean up some of the items and I find it bizarre that such a company doesn’t test their products before selling. Further to this while I was in the middle of this transaction I was completely disregarded and the team leader decided to speak to another customer behind me.

Amazing and fanastic store. My new favourite place to visit to pick up gadgets cames and whatever else i can spot. The team are energetic, dedicated and fun. They all seem to work together to get things done so smoothly and easily. Now i forget what peoples names are but the young gentleman who was having a chat with me while i was being rung up by another! He is fantastic at customer service and has lots of knowledge! If you read this i am sorry i didnt catch your name i hope all is going well with life! Another lady who serves me most of the time (i assume she may be the manager, she gives off that powerful and great boss vibe) thank you so much for answering my sillest of questions and helping me with 90% of my transactions, always fantastic to see you and is a pleasure to be your customer! (If you lovely are reading this, i am the dude with the handbags) Highly recommened this store for anything you need! They are no frills and a pleasure to be around! All of yall deserves raises!!

Went here on the 11/10/2023. Poor customer service, one of the workers was vaping in store in front of customers then tired to hide it. Then was he was extremely rude and very condescending and making comments. I wished to clear some personal work information off the phone that I was selling to them. He kept repeating that we don’t look at that stuff. Then kept saying that after I said I understand but I’m deleting the information for my personal reasons before they inspect the phone camera and if it works. He then says in a condescending way and tone do I need to explain it again?, to me and said it several times. And when telling me how much they were giving for the phone he exaggerated every number he said in a condescending tone. Have purchased from them before but the person who served us that day and the disrespectful attitude they had towards me as a customer, don’t think we’ll ever be going back. Overall very rude customer service.

Had great service today from every single person there. I traded in my boxed xbox one console towards a PS4 Pro. The staff all helped me and I was after a certain model of ps4 and they went through and checked all of the consoles and found one! Being boxing day it was already busy, but still found time after a long day to help. Honestly I will be back to trade in more stuff here. I have never traded anything in before but I didn't feel ripped off with the trade in value either it was a decent price. The console when I got home was just a bit dusty but works perfectly as well. After a quick clean its like like new. I hope someone who worked today will see this, i'm very happy. Thank you

My grandson took some skylanders to trade in. Staff were great. We were there for ages, while the guy looked up the value of each and every character to give a fair appraisal. My grandson chose a store credit, but could have chosen a $ amount to receive. He bought some preloaded games and headphones which are good. So he was really happy. It's a great way to get rid of old consoles, games, figurines, smart watches, phones etc. Only annoying thing is you have no way to call them to ask a question, otherwise I'd have given 5 stars.

Tried to sell my old phone in store only stopped using phone a week ago because I got a new one and then the lady behind the counter said the screen isn’t working when she pushed the number 8 both me and my partner tried it and it had no problems but she said they had no money to trade it today anyway. So I went to Apple itself and nothing wrong with the screen or phone. So terrible service and not wanting to do anything to help you out just excuses and a terrible attitude towards me like I was a piece of dirt.

Cex is a shop that sells dvds, blu-rays, texhnology, and games. I mostly go for the games and sometimes to find obscure seasons of tv shows for dvd. The staff here are nice enough, but the lines can be unbearable, stretching around to the pc games section! When selling items, they "have no cash", which they are really saying so you choose trade in credit, which costs them no money. I wouldnt belive that this is the staffs fault, more the people that own the buissness

Pretty sad customer service from the lady with a large fly tattoo on her wrist. She placed the movies aside, with a rubber band and label with my name on it and said she would have them ready to be collected the next day. When I returned the next day to collect my purchase, all the films had been “lost” and other workers were forced to run around and fix her “accidental mistake” and half were not found. The owner should rethink who they are hiring.

Good selections better staff then previously so big improvement. Be carful with purchases as not everything can be returned for cash refund even if there is a problem with it. Wait times in store can be high in peak time but plenty to look at while waiting. Excellent selection of DVD and blurays. On this visit bought a controller and worked well. Did need a bit of a clean from store dust but staff were happy to help....................

The staff are just super monotone, I get the feeling like I’m bothering them whenever I go in there, and usually have to stand around for like 10 minutes until someone makes eye contact And if I approach the counter before someone approaches me I’m sent away with “I’ll just be a minute” it really wouldn’t kill you to say “hey how you goin I’ll just be a minute” that’s just my Experience others might not find this to be too important.

Terrible quality. I have bought a number of dvds from the Penrith store for the last few weeks, only to find out they're damaged and have had the wrong discs placed in the wrong case (I bought "Spider-Man 2" today, and later found out that first spiderman film was inside, plus the disc was scratched!). I used to love coming to buy new movies and games every few weeks but now I may not be returning anytime soon. No hard feelings.

9 out of the 15 times I've visited, within about 20 seconds someone has greeted me and asked if I needed help. This is extremely rare in the world of retail and I for one appreciate it, especially considering most of the stores in Nepean look at you with disgust for even stepping foot in their doors. Good prices for some rare DVD's if you look hard enough. Thanks guys

The best place to find games that they don't manufacture anymore, and DVDS of your favourite old movies and TV Shows, like Seinfeld and Friends! They sell a wide variety of electronics and entertainment as well, and have a wide range of Skylanders, phones, DVDs, games and even some game consoles! They also exchange and buy games and console additions.

This place is ridiculous i needed the money so i sold a laptop with them which they will sell for $1000 i was ment to get $280 for it because it had an additional 1tb hard drive in it but they only gave me $168 which was the same price they give for the laptop without the 1tb hard drive. 1. Fix your online prices 2. Dont scam your customers.

Xbox elite 2 controller I brought from them a day or 2 ago has a few issue the cable for charging was missing 2 back buttons don't work at all Also was given 2 of the same directional pad accessories instead of the round directional pad that comes with it Guy at the desk was pretty good but sadly the item is broken and missing some stuff

I purchased a $230 laptop that was filthy and broken. It is ridiculous that you could sell a product that has not been properly checked and clearly hasn’t even been wiped down I expected more from what is supposed to be a professional business. I do not recommend purchasing anything electronic from here.

Got some AirPods for my birthday they wouldn’t connect to my phone for longer than 1 minute went back to exchange them and got very dirty with ear wax AirPods and told me I was not able to get a refund as it’s store policy which is ridiculous I tried went back in four different times like come on

I went in to guy a xbox360 I got the wrong corlds and the remote had no case so I went in to get the case the gave me a case that Brocken and I found out on Christmas it was the wrong cable so I going to day to try and get the right corlds and a other remote with a right working back changer case

I payed for a 1tb console and they gave me a 500gb console. Because the employees didn't get it right I need to catch the train down to the store and walk 3km carrying the console to get a replacement. IF YOU SHOP HERE, CHECK WHAT THEY GIVE YOU IS CORRECT BEFORE YOU BUY AND KEEP YOUR RECIPT!!!

it's always dusty in there for some reason. good collection of games and staff are professional. there was a guy selling a heap of things and the staff member who serviced him was having a polite conversation throughout scanning the things.

Worse shop ever to greedy n just only to get a louzey $10 to have something to eat n rejected me.if there were an option to put no stars i would never goin to.that store ever again and btw the floor in there is like almost flooded with dvds

Small store, but packed to the brim with some great old movies and games that made me super nostalgic. Price point is very affordable. Staff are lovely and friendly. And have a great range of games, DVDS, gaming consoles, etc

Sold an s8 they tried to tell me it's locked to Optus but I had a belong sim card that worked another tactic to rip you off because locked phones they pay less and they sell it as unlocked dogey as it gets

Wont refund after replacing twice! Manager thinks she at the gym wearing crop tops an her attitude is digusting. Store is absoulte OH&S hazard with stock all over the floor. Reported else where.

The CEX staff are great people, helpful, funny (particularly Sean) and the store always has great music on which has an amazing effect in making the shopping experience that little bit better.

Great prices on all there stock. And a wide variety, something for the kids and something for dad. The son can always get a bargain for his pocket money but his Xbox games. Friendly staff

Really friendly staff, pretty good stock, really low prices and 95% of my purchases there work perfectly And in the few cases where it didnt, they replaced the item quick and easy!

The staff is pretty nice and friendly and they got me what I wanted in time. It's just that's sometimes the things are really dirty/dusty or if not they are very clean.

Having been a regular customer, i am always on the lookout for dvds,took 1 dvd in today only to be told they are not taking dvds anymore only bluray! Very disappointed

Great place to pick up second hand DVDs, Blurays, phones and games. Prices are reasonable, unlike places like cash converters. Definitely worth a look!

Lots of games at a very good price. Pre-owned game was a rip off $70 at EB games next door but only $30 here and they had a lot of copies.

The shop assistant was arrogant and lacked knowledge about the device to the point where I had to come home research it and do it myself.

Staff don't know what they are selling when it comes to the computer components, but prices are good so can't complain i suppose.

Only place I know of in Penrith that will buy DVDs and Blu-ray discs for a reasonable price. I got $72 on the 8/2/2021.
