"Very large community park with number of excellent features"

"So much mud, on pavements along the entrances along from university disruption with landscaping the park taking place too many tipper lorries churning up the pavement opposite golf course"
"Went to watch the Rugby Weather was cold and windy, car park was full, I returned to my car to find a flat tyre, Not Impressed!!! Rugby was good even though I didn't understand it or the scoring, I was just a bunch of blokes scrumming, bundling each other to the ground, and lifting each other up in the Air, A few arguments btwn players, almost into fisty cuffs other players pulling them apart Conclusion: Rugby is a very confusing Game !!!"
"I haven't been to Central Park for some years now, until last weekend"
Very large community park with number of excellent features. A brilliant and exciting place for bringing your family and/or young children for having a friendly football kick about or running or having fun in the Children's Play Areas. Very Good for taking a breeze walk, running, cycling or jogging or just have a quite time relaxing while sipping a cup of coffee in the beautiful scenic seating garden in the Kiosk - when it's open. Dagenham Civic Centre is in one corner which now hosts Coventry University London (CU London). Central Park Dagenham is made up of Public Toilets (now closed due to COVID-19), 3x FREE car parks, Adventure Play Area, Children's Play Area, 18-Holes Golf Course, Football Pitches, Rugby Pitches (including floodlights), Tennis Courts, Memorial Garden, Community Orchard, Kiosk by the Golf Course, Outdoor Gym, Pavilion, Nursery, Ambassador's Wood, large Green Space, and much more! The Peace and Memorial Garden: only recently found out about this place! A historic community memorial garden to remember the heroes and to improve the local communities! It is between the Civic Centre (currently CU London campus) and Fire Station. Trees at the Community Orchard are growing fast and are almost ready to mature - community can harvest and enjoy the fruits! The Orchard is managed organically & stands on wildlife meadowand mostly of Trees. It was planted in 2015 in partnership with the local community marking the 50th Anniversary of the borough - Barking and Dagenham! Unless you are aware of this Orchard or aware of the Park inside out - one cannot find this Orchard easily! Signages around the park needs to be improved and thus, increasing the effective usage of this beautiful Park!
Once upon a time I would said this was a wonderful place for all. Open spaces for children, families, dog walking and the elderly all would have enjoyed the safe open space with its playing fields, bowling club, mini golf, cafe and growing area. There used to be a fantastic town show which culminated at the park with many local businesses, fire brigade, police, ambulance, air, produce stalls, learning areas etc etc. All now more. NOW I would say don't bother. It is a dirty, muddy, unsafe. The facilities would attractd all. Many of the trees have been cut down. They were not all dead or dangerous. The local council has allowed thousands of tons of soil to be trucked in and dipped creating huge mounds. These mound are slowing being covered with grass but already bikers etc have made ruts and muddy trenches. Huge amounts of water runs off of these mounds creating enormous lakes of filthy dangerous water. Dog walkers are a rate sight now. The Little Leagues that used the playing fields are no more. Walkers are few and far between. Older people also now avoid the park as it does not feel safe. All of the above is my own personal experience and observations. I could go on. ☹
Playground
Yes there are two play areas. Not well used.
Restrooms
There are toilets but rarely open and quite frankly not at all inviting.
Picnic area
No specific allocated picnic areas.
So much mud, on pavements along the entrances along from university disruption with landscaping the park taking place too many tipper lorries churning up the pavement opposite golf course. supporting someone in wheelchair really difficult no access to pitch n putt for socialising. Been terrible since January 2023.
Playground
Children's small playground now usable. Needs a litter bin. Lorries continue to dump rubbish including old toilets, tiles and pipes and rubble very dusty and dirty!! Plans for Central park are supposed to be available to view at the pitch n putt next Tuesday 30/05/2023 Last week when pushing wheelchair across where the lorries go through was stuck in the rut of the lorry wheel tracks in the mud. Nearly was a lorry sandwich. Fortunately bothe lorry drivers stopped in time and were very helpful lifting the wheelchair and man out of the mud. This was very much appreciated

I haven't been to Central Park for some years now, until last weekend. The funfair was on site but didn't cause too much noise during the day. There are a lot of large open areas with trees around the outer edges. Plenty of scope for ball games, of lazing around in the sun One of the best kept secrets is the kiosk aattched to the golf shop. Ice cold water and an ice cream for £1, was a real surprise.
Great open space, putting course with cafe, toilets kids playground and outdoor gym.(thanks to 2012 olympics) Plenty of parking and tarmac path around the main green make it easier for mums and disabled to get around.
Restrooms
Near tennis courts and golf.
Dog-friendliness
The majority of locals walk their dog here, harder now they have dug a lot of it up for development.
Quite a big park for running, outdoor sports like football, they have a fun fair over there aswell sometimes they use to have a town show over there every year not sure if they still do. I haven't been to kids playgrounds for a while but from what I remember they were ok aswell.
Great place and the grass is nice to walk on during a sunny day and it is the perfect place to fly a drone. It also features three playgrounds at the three different entrances. There is also an outdoor gym with walking, jumping and climbing equipment.
Big open place Great for letting the kids go on the swings and slides and walking the dog and they have a pitch and putt which I haven't been to in 20 years but I'm guessing it hasn't changed but it is a good short cut through to the country park
A large unspoiled Park that has changed very little over the years. Plenty of wide open spaces. Relatively flat, and good paced sections for cycling. A really good 18 hole Pitch and Putt Course to the North Side. Three car park areas.
This park was and still is my stomping ground, I grew up around this park. I've seen a lot of changes and improvements. Its a lovely park well maintained by the park crew. Congratulations to the crew members. …
Used to be a really nice park, but local council using it as a dumping ground at the moment. *No change, now they taking up more park space and seem to spend most days moving dirt around with no sense of direction
I love this park. So large and green. 2 basketball courts, outdoor gym and lots of play spaces for children. Has public toilets and even has a mini golf course. Lots of trees and shade for when the sun hits.
My local park. Beautifully green and massive in area. Sadly underutilised in Dagenham although there was a London house festival held there at the end of last year. Great place for a picnic or a dog walk
Well, I can not honestly rate it any higher, as it's in the throws of becoming a really decent park. When it is finished, which should be around 2024!!so let's wait and see,I can't wait. …
Great friendly park yet a part should be reserved for dogs as not all owners pick up dog stools sadly & my son fell in some had to chuck all his garments mre than once
Love walking dog. But best part is tea toast and tea, sausage for dog in pitch and putt. Could sit over there all day in summer. Lesley and Steve make you so welcome.
Love this park. Is huge and has enormous space for my dogs to run about. You won't be disappointed walking through small forest pathways in peace and tranquility.
Best large park for bike rides with kids, multiple playgrounds, huge grass space for picnic. Small cafe with best prices in London. Our favourite:)
This was a lovely open place to visit, currently worse than a building site with busted safety fencing a risk to animals and children such a shame
The council are making a right mess of this once lovely park, they should be ashamed, but money talks, it's not for the good of the public at all.
Lovely place to walk the doggie or children. People who go here are always friendly. The little tuck shop is great for dogs and kids too
Lovely well kept park. Myself and my husband always walk round the park for our daily exercise. Always people about . Really lovely park
Lovely park, easy to access from the Streets, lovely shades on a Sunny day. Nearby supermarket but some parts of the park are closed.
A very pleasant place but undergoing some landscaping so in a bit of a mess at the moment. Can recommend the Pitch & Putt course.
So disappointed with what they have done to what was a beautiful park . Just so glad that the pitch and put is still there
Wide open space. Great for kids to let off steam and dog walks. Pitch and putt course is beautifully maintained.
Nice park for a walk, the pitch and putt is great, even has a refreshments area, very reasonable prices, …
Great pitch & putt course with great tea hut. Rest of park is nice.. Could do with a fenced off dog enclosure!
Could be nicer but mostly fenced off with heras fencing due to a silly festival taking up far too much space
This is a really nice park with a massive amount of open space as well as numerous play and exercise areas.
Always a good park. Lots of space and the mini golf course is a favorite of our families
Good open green for the dogs, shame people don't pick up their own dogs poo.
Good walk but a terrible mess with all the mounds of earth everywhere
