To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement, I started ordering from this business well over a year ago on uber eats and back then... Wow the food was amazing and great portion sizes, however it wasn't called cheeky chewies it's Malaysian kitchen! This was a favourite place for me at one stage but as the months went on the portion sizes got smaller and smaller and the quality started to slip also. It had been a while since I ordered from here so I thought I'd give them another chance but quickly realised this was a mistake. I ordered the beef curry Nasi Lemke and the portion size was even smaller again, sambal sauce was horrible and mind you this place use to have the best in town I had tasted. I tried searching for Malaysian kitchen on google but nothing came up except for it on the delivery apps. I quickly realised that Cheeky Chewies and Malaysian kitchen are the same place from looking up the addresses. Funny enough I had ordered from CC and it wasn't bad and portions were good but if you order under Malaysian kitchen you'll get stooged and disappointment.. Probably even the same ordering under Cheeky Chewies. And this is being polite! Won't be ordering ever again, and I will be telling my friends and family to go elsewhere!

Love this place, the atmosphere is so welcoming and pleasant. The customer service is always 10/10 and if there's an error it's always replied back with gracefully. The food is delicious and the portion sizes are fantastic, definitely worth your money. the service is fast and the food always arrives hot and fresh! My mum and I had come here months ago for the first time for a quick lunch together, since then it's certainly our favourite place. Thanks guys, keep up the amazing work. P.S: if you haven't had the mushroom fries you're absolutely missing out!

Food tasted really good. We ordered the Nasi Lemak with rendang chicken and a nasi lemak burger. Both were spicy enough and the rendang chicken was fall-off-the-bone tender. However, 3 stars because firstly, the food took more than 30 mins to arrive. So be prepared to wait, especially if you have a tight schedule. Secondly, we were told the toilet was out of order so we tried looking for a public toilet to no avail. However, the staff opened the toilet for another customer right in front of us while we hold our pee. The staff did eventually open the toilet for us after we asked them to and the chef subsequently came out to clarify that the toilet was locked to prevent public use and agreed that customers should be able to use the toilet.

Even one star is too much. Fish burger was all soggy and cold. Burger bun was very soggy to the point it was dripping to the side and couldn’t hold the food (only 2 small frozen fish with little amount of coleslaw). Fish looked/taste cheap- it is one of those from frozen fish box in the fridger that you get from coles or woolies. Coleslaw was not fresh it looked like it was pre made from long time ago and very dry with no mayo dressing. Burger bun was all burnt as well. They use really cheap burger bun. Fries were soooooo sooo so soggy- disgusting! Thai milk tea doesn’t taste anything like thai milk tea as u won’t taste any milk but watered down. Jam donut had barely any jam. Very tight on main ingredient- jam. I would never eat food from here again. Ruined my day. Not sure how this place got good reviews, people must have really low standard. Its deceiving as I was drawn by the comments.

I'm so disappointed, coconut rice is not cooked. I called nicely and told them and they brought a new coconut rice. Before I tried, I asked if it was the same. And she said yes. I told her what's the point cause it's not cooked. She said nevermind. Well, I mind cause I do not waste it. It's so hard to find the money. I spend almost 20$ on rice and fish sambal. So she asked me to try at least. I did try. And yes, it's not cooked. If I'm not pregnant, I will eat it as I hate wasting food but because I'm pregnant, I do not want to take the risk. I try to finish the fish only but if I eat by itself it's a bit salty at the end I waste my money and food is waste as well the staff was nice but not the kitchen staff. First time and never again

This is an South Asian fusion cafe in this area. The mushroom fried is really good. The batter is thin as tempura and super crunchy outside, moist inside. The rendang ramen is very creative, chicken rendang is very soft and tasty. Concept is good, but the ramen soup taste like instant noodles, ramen also not cooked well, some ramen still stick together, not pleasant to enjoy at a cafe. The chicken rendeng lasi lemak is OK. Rice have coconut flavor, but rice also have burnt flavor too. Overall, food is so so. Not high quality authentic version. Price is above average, but some menu items are very creative. Staff are friendly. Few sofa seats in side, also have outdoor area. May come back for western crusine instead.

Positive and negative review. First the positives: Staff is friendly, chips were good and the chicken ribs were great. Now a negative: I ordered a Cheeky Cheesey burger with no pickles and no tomato. When the burger arrived it had pickles and tomato. I sent it back, the waitress was polite and took the burger back to the kitchen. The same burger then came back to me a few minutes later with the pickles and tomatoes removed. To me it was a mild inconvenience because I ordered them without pickles and tomato because it is my preference, but if it had of been related to another reason, say a food allergy or something, then it could've been bad to receive the same burger again . I personally feel that if the food is made incorrectly the first time, the replacement should've been made fresh.

Hosted my daughters 1st birthday here - Celine, John & staff were a pleasure, very friendly and professional. I could not fault the lead up to the event and the day itself!! The grazing table setup, the food, the drinks and service was outstanding and was above and beyond all expectations, with all guests in agreeance. The grazing table was the highlight and compliments to the chef, John, on providing a spectacular, visually aesthetic, and delicious spread. Highly recommend hosting an event here or even just popping in for some food - the chicken wings are the best! Thanks again for the exceptional service, delicious food (everyone also got to take food home) and your help in making the day very special with our family and friends.

I've been here twice recently. Food wise is just decent. The first time I'm here , I've the nasi lemak, is a disappointment. All the condiments like anchovies and peanuts is stale and Chewy and why serve the sambal cold? The only good point is the coconut rice. The second time I've the laksa. The soup is nice but the chicken that come with it is a bit old, and a bit smelly ? I believe U guys marinated with bi carb? Y? Overall the place have so much potential . Needs to cut down the big menu. A bit messy? Inside sitting a bit crowded, maybe reorganise it .? I like the children play area. If can make it bigger will be fantastic. The staff is great , they're friendly and helpful. I like this place . Just hope it can be better and improved. I hope the owner/chef can take note.

At first, I was a bit sceptical because of the location. But the genuine, friendly service and food sang this little restaurant praises! Their Lunch and Dinner menu has clear Malay roots with Nasi Lamak and Sambal Crispy Fish (picture). At first taste, we were transported back to Pulau Langkawi with visions of driving around on a two person scooter touring local eateries. Their Burgers and Ramen also looks well composed and a must try. It was brought to our attention that the breakfast menu is an "adventurous" must try too. The prices are very reasonable and unpretentious. To add, a kids meal with a drink, a fruit and a toy for $10 was too attractive to pass by for our little one. I think we've just found a new "local" haunt.

  • Sue Looi Ong

Looking at their menu, I guess I can briefly guessed that they are not very authentic. Well I was right but even without the authenticity, the taste of the food is very good. So far I have tried their prawn noodles, Laksa, ramly burger, nasi lemak with rendang and a couple of their ramen. No other complains besides authenticity. One thing to add, guess it comes down to authenticity :) they put the bigger portion of the container with rendang (quite watery) and the smaller portion with rice. As I said, not authentic, rice is the main portion usually when it comes to nasi lemak. Some might say is worth the money since they give you more meat than carbs but well.... that's not really how nasi lemak is :) taste is good.

  • Jeff Tao (Momonoart Studio)

One of the most child friendly cafe I have been. The safe and cosy environment allow the kids to have some fun but also give the parents some time to relax and enjoy. However, this does not affect their dessert taste and quality. Their menu is creative but also that fantastic. A definitely a good place for the afternoon to catch up with friends if you have been too caught up in your life.

We discovered this awesome eatery quite by accident, and we are so glad we did! The staff are amazing, the manager EC is a bubble of smiles with awesome charisma, and delivers top customer service. I stuffed up our breakfast order, and he sorted it out immediately, and was happy to do so, no problems whatsoever. The food here is amazing, freshly cooked, their coffees are second to none, and the prices are very reasonable. So if you want delicious food, awesome atmosphere, and great customer service, you cannot go past this place. Do yourself a favour - Pop in

Don't ever buy the drinks, their "teas" are just water, utterly disgusting and really, you could just do your own at home. Disgraceful. And expensive. The food, though, well, while a tad pricey, I am chewing my way thru the menu: it's good. I have to say it's getting harder for kids to enjoy a normal everyday breakfast without asking the difference between breads or sauces, but i LOVE Japanese pancakes and the different titles on the menu are clever. The food is enjoyable, just the right size, and they do have some things for kids - can certainly get into the pancakes etc if you don't have fussy teenagers!

Ordered 2 burgers and fries, didn't come out until 50 minutes later. We dined in to get fresh food, but the order was sitting on the counter, until we asked the waitress how much longer our food would be. She unwrapped the burgers to check and told her cook to remake the food, it came back with the top buns reheated and the patties luke warm, not sizzling hot. We also heard the microwave in use and noticed that is burgers were rebuilt not remade. Will not go back ever again. The waitress was lovely but there's no system to check on the diners. Note we were the only diners..

  • Jeff Jeff

The food is very average and honestly not worth the price, there are much better places for Malaysian food. The restaurant was very quiet but we still waited 30-40 minutes for food. The laksa was very disappointing, tasting nothing like authentic laksa and just was not good. The fried tofu was bland and overall the food was average. The spring rolls however were quite nice and the poke bowl was good. However I’d recommend going somewhere else.

I need to share my experience I had at this place. Laverton is not our most favourite place overall but have to say that do not regret at all stopping at Cheeky Chewies to grab a bite. It was one of the best customer services I have experience. Michelle was very patient, friendly and helpful to choose and describe all sorts of food they have, recommended and made our experience really joyful. On the top of that the food was amazing! We had a seafood curry laksa and a tofu ramen and a bubble tea with tapioca balls. Overall - just yummy!!! I definitely recommend. Thank you.

  • Roza Richards

I went in today after seeing their specials posted to their facebook page. A good red curry is hard to find on a lunch menu. I was not disappointed. Delicious. I'll be sad when that special ends so I hope they bring it back often. It looks like a nice family type place, but welcoming of all sorts. Quiet busy at lunch time with all the locals coming in. Each table was full! Caters to all, from the RAAF staff, to mums who can enjoy popping the kids in a sound proof looking play room and enjoy a coffee. Definitely the type of place I'd visit and also enjoy working at.

  • Eloise Barber

The food was amazing, it was cooked perfectly and came out quickly the rice was fluffy and tasted incredible. The staff seemed genuinely happy to serve us and they really made the whole experience perfect! The cafe was warm and the music was the right volume. Everything about our experience was incredible and I really wish I could give them more stars!

Dish 1: Crispy Fish Burger with homemade tartare sauce Dish 2: Chicky Ramen Dish 3: tiny Fish & chips Im 31 weeks pregnant and have been craving food I dont know i want - today that craving has been fixed! I got the CRISPY fish burger and am a very slow eater however even after 10mins the fish is still crunchy and with nearly every bite i can feel and hear a crunch . My husband loved his ramen, he's trying to limit what he eats and said he feels satisfyingly full . I would have preferred it to be scorching hot but he said it was perfect for him!

Cute cafe that I would have missed had I not heard about it through mamma knows west. The food was very unique and quite delicious and the milkshakes were beautifully creamy. A major plus was that they had a soft play area for my 1.5 year old daughter, who had a ball running around while waiting for food. We also went on mothers day weekend and I was gifted a family photo bookmark and a beautifully scented candle as a gift. Their customer service was outstanding and we will be going again to try out all the different things on the menu.

  • Lee McGlade

We went because it featured on mama knows west as a good place to take kids. Couldn’t be more wrong. We went in Summer and i was concerned about the safety of my little one playing in the play area as the aircon was not working and there was no ventilation. The play area is very small and not maintained. The kids meal was subpar- not sure what kid likes granny smith apples.. Would not come back again.

Went there on Sunday. Food was average - 3.5 stars, but service was just sad. I waited for the waiter for more than 7.5 minutes to take my plate and bring dessert after I finished (I had stopwatch running because I was bored). Waiter seemed to be preoccupied by anything but serving the customers at the tables. Never got the dessert and the plate stayed on the table when I left. Nice lady at the counter tried her best to lift the mood I felt really bad for her and the position she ended up in, being let down by her team.

Myself and my family are regular customers of this cafe. Asian fusion food and good variety. Good play area for toddlers too. Grace, the staff manager was very kind when I spilt my coffee when my child fell at the play area and gave me a free replacement coffee. They refused to let me pay for the extra coffee. Tasty food, good prices, great entertainment area and kind staff! I've also booked out this cafe for an event last year, outstanding customer service and great food! Thank you cheeky chewies

  • Allan Roark

I had breakfast here this morning with a great cappuccino. It was that good I decided to eat here tonight. Those that know me know just how much I enjoy a good burger. Let me tell you the Burger was better than good. The waitress suggested the Cheesy burger combo. If this isn't the best burger Southwest of Melbourne I'll be most surprised. The crew here are great people, super friendly and enjoy what they do. Try this hidden gem, you'll love it.

We chose to change our order to takeaway shortly after ordering as I had a train to catch, this was changed without trouble (thank you to the staff) My dad ordered the beef curry, loved it! I had ordered a banana bread and a mocha through Deliveroo . Both were pretty average. I had opted for a heated banana bread which was for $6 for a very small size and no butter with it. I didn’t like the coffee much either. All other cafes, even the MacDonalds got a complementary butter with a banana bread so that was a disappointment. I don’t think I will be re-ordering from here.

Decided to sit outside on my last visit. One of the female staff quick to be handed a menu and asked what I would like for a drink. 10 minutes later, nothing. I was only served by one of the male staff after I saw another guest indicate to staff that I was outside. The food is good. The 10 minute guarantee makes getting lunch during a break easy

This place is calling itself Japanese Kitchen on Menulog, so don't be fooled. The poke was about 3/4 rice and 1/4 everything else so it wasn't a complete meal. Poor value for money. And my partner said his ramen tasted like sandwich meat was used and he's had better ramen from a $2 packet. Really disappointing. Won't be ordering again.

Food here was truly amazing! Packed full of flavour. Staff were friendly and easy going. Small play area for kids (much to do in the play space but well looked after) toilets are at the back of the building but closed in with fencing. Recommend a parent goes with child just to be on the safe side. Will definitely be going back

  • Ka Bs

Food tip top no complains. The only complain I have is after ordering, I am suppose to pay straight up at the counter. And when I want something else while having my food, I need to get up to the cashier and pay again. It is pretty annoying to go up and down the cashier while enjoying the food. Take note cheeky chewies.

Top place. Ordered 2 burgers here today. The staff go the extra mile, one of us has a sesame seed allergy so they kindly sorted us out with a waffle burger and it was a total winner! The burgers are huge. The burger patties wouldn't win a gourmet contest but at the price they are outstanding. Will definitely be back :-)

  • Minzy Kang

This little gem was a delightful discovery on our recent road trip. The aromatic coconut rice of their nasi lemak really stood out! The tomyum scramble egg was another wonderful twist to the conventional chilli egg brekky. Not forgetting the warm and friendly service that made our dining experience a very pleasant one!

  • laura eyles

Delicious Seafood Tom Yum soup. The big prawns were yum! And worth shelling them myself. Not an elegant task to put your fingers in your soup to fish them out . And I squeezed soup/prawn juice all over myself taking their heads off. But totally worth it. Glad I was wearing my gardening tshirt. ❤️ …

We stumbled across this place and after reading the reviews thought we'd give it a shot. It's awesome! Friendly staff, good fresh food and good coffee! The kids play area is a great idea but can get a little noisy....but you'd expect that. Excellent idea though to entertain kids whilst you enjoy your food …

It was my 2nd time here but the 1st visit was ages ago. Great coffee. The nasi lemak was delicious, coconut rice was fragrant and tasty. The sambal (chilli) wasn't hot enough for me, but it was expected. Good portion (couldn't finish the rice!). There were plenty of choice for kids, the fish and chips were good

Good cafe with easy parking and friendly staff. Pretty good selection of treats available. Reasonable coffee for commuters. Good use of their outside serving window for takeaway, but the indoor barrier for COVID compliance seems a bit much. Hope some more normality comes back and they can trade as usual.

I was a bit taken back by the prices, but after seeing the big portions and tasting the food, it was worth it. The chips/fries are amazing! I would recommend getting a side of the satay sauce to dip, delicious. I'll definitely be back. Oh, they also have a small play area for the kids, great thinking!

This cafe has a friendly and welcoming athmosphere. Relaxing background music. I've been here twice and so far I have been satisfied with my menu choices. The staff are excellent and attentive. They have beer and wine. I would travel distances to eat here.

Order spicy ramen and original ramen,we don't really like beef, taste like ham or sweet bacon. Not what we expect as beef in ramen. Without meat it's gonna be 4 ⭐

The staff are good and very friendly, the food though is just average, I've been here twice now and both times the food was just ok, nothing to excite. The coffee is fine and the milkshakes are good. The play area is good for small kids.

I was a regular. Regrettably, my last couple of experiences were not the best, staff unsure of what I wanted my order was confused and had little to no customer service skills, previous staff, Kelly, Grace and Melissa were fantastic.

  • Priscilla Li

Yummy and authentic Nasi Lemak here, and really like the sambal fish fillet on rice! Reasonably priced, generous portion sizes and friendly service.

Their scrambled eggs tasted a bit plain and rubbery! Average quality food...there are better cafes around in Werribee. The kids play area is nice and the staff are friendly - however I would not come back here again.

Have been wanting to check this one out for a while. Great little cafe, awesome location, lots of parking. It has a really welcoming atmosphere. Great food and friendly service. It even has a play area for the kids!

  • Charlie Lear

Long time coffee customer, first time diner. Had the nasi lemak with chicken rendang. Easily the equal of any I had in Malaysia, "authentic" in the menu is true! The coffee was up to the usual standard too. Thanks!

Wonderful place to have a nice brunch! Nice mix of Western and eastern cuisine. The special of the day, thai curry was nice, as well as the sweet potato chips. Wonderful nice location and internal decor too.

Hands down the best food I have tasted in years! My 3 children loved it so much they actually shut their mouth all dinner! Thank you for such a wonderful meal and giving me a few minutes of peace and quiet.

  • Hayden Price

Really nice atmosphere. The food was good, but nothing amazing. The ramen was lacking in flavour but the chilli garlic chicken was nice. Would come back to try something else based on the atmosphere alone.

  • IGuideU

Really friendly owner and will come back to try more food. The coffee comes in quirky cups, which were are a bit odd, if I was looking for a negative.

This little hidden gem really surprised me. I had the best Japanese Curry ever. The staff are super friendly and the prices are really good. Will be going there regularly now.

Delicious food but poor packaging. Pointed out the leak to the staff who unfortunately didn’t do anything about it.

Love this place. We came here with the whole family and extended family for father's day. The food is great and the kids love the playground. The staff are also so friendly and always smiling.

  • Ali Hasnat

Below average coffee and service. Only reason to still give 3 stars is the cheesecake I had which was just fine.

Amazing food. The waffles are great. Presentation we don't normally see this high quality in the Western Suburbs. Good customer service too. Small play area for kids. Well worth a visit.

Serving fusion Malaysian & Western fare at the suburb of Laverton. With a playpen for tots right in the middle of the restaurant. A good pit stop for parents with kiddies

  • Breinn Aguilar

A chill resto. Their staff are really awesome! They have a small playroom but my daughter enjoyed it nonetheless. We’ll comeback next time we get into the area for sure.
