It was my first time buying shoes to accommodate orthotics and carbon-fibre ankle braces without help from family members, and I was a bit nervous. It’s also just an aspect of my health that I’m not super comfortable dealing with. The staff at City Park Runners not only made me comfortable, they went above and beyond to ensure I had the perfect fit for my braces and that I would be set moving forward. I ran in on my lunchbreak and one of the employees, Kristen, measured my feet and discussed my needs. We talked about my past experience with orthopedic shoes, and Kristen walked me through the options that City Park Runners has available to both adults and children with mobility aids. The diversity in options both blows my mind, and honestly, makes me so hopeful – I can’t emphasize that enough. We ended up going with a shoe that was on sale but being discontinued by Brooks. However, since the fit was so perfect and I’ll be in these braces long-term, Kristen and City Park Runner’s owner Jon tracked down two more pairs for me. I am extremely thankful and would recommend City Park Runners to anyone who is looking for the perfect fit and for stellar customer service. Nobody does it quite like small businesses.

As a winter runner in Saskatchewan, I was desperately searching for a pair of pants rugged enough to handle some of our coldest temperatures and City Park Runners was one of only two places in Canada that appeared to carry the hard-to-find model by Craft that I was looking for. Craft is a fantastic brand but their sizing is a bit tricky, so I was hesitant to buy from a smaller business at first, knowing that I'd have to pay shipping both ways if the pants didn't fit. I decided to contact the store via their online chat function for more information on the pants, and the helpful sales associate not only gave me advice on fit, they also measured the waist and hip so I could compare to a pair of pants I already own and ensure they were a good match. The pants were mailed quickly (next day) at a very reasonable shipping cost and packaged carefully in a sturdy box with a thank you and plenty of contact info. Based on my experience, I would not hesitate to purchase from this store again, online or otherwise, and I'll be browsing their site in the future for my running gear needs!

An absolutely amazing experience! I went with a prescription for shoes (who knew there was such a thing!) from a physiotherapist and the man I met did an amazing job. He was incredibly knowledgeable about which shoe would work for me after looking at the physiotherapists prescription and my feet. I now own the most comfortable running shoes that I've ever owned in my life. Aching, burning soles, begone! My partner came with me and after awhile decided to try on some shoes too. A different employee helped my partner and did a marvelous job as well. Who knew there were so many considerations in a running shoe!

I’m on my 5th or so pair of runners from City Park over a period of 10ish years. Erick’s staff knowledge is impressive in my opinion. You can try whatever you want of course, but I really appreciate them narrowing down the most appropriate shoes to try based on their assessment. Whether I’ve been lean/ fit or overweight/ out of shape and returning to running, I’ve received the same non-judgmental attention to my needs. I also appreciate their shoe donation for those in need program. If you’re able to, buy your runners more frequently and donate your old ones before they have significant wear.

One of my best experiences shopping anywhere, period. Booked a shoe fitting appointment since I was completely clueless about running shoes. Lady measured each of my feet, assessed how I walked, then asked about any concerns when I jog/run before pulling out a number of options. She also gave me some good tips while I was testing them on the treadmill since I'm very much a beginner jogger. Very grateful that she didn't make me feel embarrassed about having a lower budget as well. Would highly recommend to anyone, especially if you're just starting out :)

Went here recently to buy a new pair of shoes. I've put about 30 km on my new shoes, and they are the best fitting, most comfortable running shoes I've ever worn. Previously, I would go into a big box store, find the best sale, find my size "close enough", and usually end up with a shoe that wasn't the proper fit. At City Park Runners, they took the time to do a proper fitting, and they let me run on the treadmill in the store to make sure they were a good fit while running. This is the only place I'll buy running shoes from now on.

City Park Runners is a great place to get running shoes properly fitted to ensure you have a great run. The owners are fantastic people and the staff they have are amazing. The running club that runs out of CPR on Thursdays and Saturdays is great, the people are all inviting (and don't judge your running skill or style) and there will always be someone to run with. The clinics they offer are fantastic and helped improve my times in the 5k, 10k and 1/2 Marathon. If you can, enter a clinic with them, it's well worth it.

Ordered runners through the clerk because they were out of my size... Said they would come in a few days later. Called after a week and the same clerk acted like they had no idea who I was and seemed totally inconvenienced. Seemed obvious he had forgotten to order them but wouldn't admit it. Called again a few days later and he was rude and dismissive. Finally went to another store and found the same shoes in my size for cheaper so I went to get my money back from City Park. Weird experience. Won't be returning!

I had the best experience ever here! Jonathan and the team were so helpful. They measured my feet and assessed how I walk and run and recommended several different pairs of shoes for me. For the first time ever, I have running shoes that fit perfectly and feel GREAT! You can tell how much they care about helping you and their service is above and beyond what I expected. Amazing experience. I haven’t ran in years and wanted to get back into it with the right footwear that wouldn’t cause me pain. I booked a personal fitting and after a conversation about my concerns and running style, Erick picked out three options for me that fit like a glove. I tested them on the treadmill, made a decision, and left happy. After a test run, it feels so good to be running again and get home with my feet in pain. Quality service and quality products. Made my shopping experience a pleasure.

Made my first visit to their store on the advice of a friend and had a positive experience. I have been looking for a specific shoe online and could not find it in-stock anywhere. Thankfully, City Park Runners had it in-stock and in my size! The customer service rep that assisted me was friendly and helpful, and I was treated to an unprompted discount for a very small cosmetic issue with one of the shoes. Would highly recommend this locally-owned store to anyone looking for new running/training shoes!

I went to City Park Runners yesterday for a few pairs of running shoes for indoor and outdoor running. The lady who assisted me was very helpful and presented a few good alternatives. I'm very happy shopping here since they've kept me pain-free for over 5 years now after previously suffering with intermittent foot issues. I also appreciate the fact that they say "Thank You" after I make my purchases. So many business just say "Have a Good Day" which doesn't cut it in my opinion.

What a wonderful buying experience! I struggle with a lot of foot discomfort, and have pretty specific needs for a trail shoe (hiking). The sales person was incredibly informative and helpful. I felt listened to and validated, and really appreciated the effort to problem solve with me , even if it didn’t mean purchasing a new shoe. In the end, I did purchase a new pair of trail runners and can’t wait to get out there! We will be coming back for sure the next time we need shoes!

I tried on a few pairs but ended up buying the first ones they recommended. I love the fact I was able to do a quick test on a treadmill while there too, it really helped. I didn't know of this store and found it after a bad experience at the Running Room. This was the best shopping experience, not just my best shoe shopping experience. They have tons of knowledge and were friendly, patient, and a lot of fun! I ended up with two pairs of shoes (after they let me test drive about a dozen) and left there feeling super happy that I'd found this store and staff. This is 100% my only running stop now.

This shop isn't as amazing as it used to be. The staff that I had was sort of helpful. When I described what I was looking fit they were confused and a senior staff had to help them out. It used to be you could have a conversation about the kind of site you needed and they worked to find a good fit for you. On this visit I felt that it was assembly line service and they couldn't wait to get people out the door.

I went to City Park Runners for the first time after a recommendation from my physiotherapist. I am a professional dancer who has been experiencing foot pain from shoes that didn't fit properly/weren't suited for the work I was doing while cross training.
