I have never left a negative review for any business but I had such a I had a terrible experience having my dog neutered here that I hope my experience helps other people make a better decision about where to take their pets. I paid nearly $700 to have him neutered and I never once even spoke to the actual veterinarian-not before or after our visit or to check up since I filed a complaint 5 days ago. I dealt with an incredibly unprofessional and condescending vet tech named Lucinda at the Mass Ave location who was rough with my dog (forcefully pulled his leash hard enough his gentle leader pulled off of his head and made no effort to warm up to him) and rude to me. My dog is an friendly and wiggly big puppy, I have never seen him afraid of any vet tech or person until Lucinda, she admitted they had trouble with his IV because he was scared and gave him enough oral medication that they had trouble bringing him out of the anesthesia. She directly told me his body temperature dropped and he was so scared of her when he finally woke up that he refused to lay on any of the blankets they provided but hid from them and stayed “on the cold floor”. I mentioned he doesn’t respond well to force and he is normally cuddly and she told me "well its not like I cuddled him" and that I needed to be less concerned with being my dogs best friend and be more dominant. She talked badly about other owners and patients to me and how she is “shocked at how much she has to explain to people”. I called back on Monday evening to explain my experience and seek advice, the lady I spoke with apologized and told me their patient coordinator would call me the next day and I have still not heard from anyone in 5 days. I have had dogs my entire life of all breeds and energy levels and worked with vets throughout the country and this was by far our worst experience.
I have two rescue cats that HATE going to the Vet. As a side note their "daddy" doesn't much care for the doctor's office either! Because nothing else had worked to avoid it, I had both cats front paws declawed this past Thursday. Having just moved to downtown Indianapolis, I used the reviews on Google and other sites to make my decision. I also called one other vet in the downtown area. Their estimate was $300 MORE for the two cats than Mass Ave. Animal Clinic. The staff at Mass Ave Animal Clinic is so friendly and professional. Ken saw me at my drop off visit and was very helpful in explaining the procedure and what to expect after I got my kitties home from surgery the next day. One of the doctors that I had spoken to when I first called to make the appointment was in the hall and talked with me as I was leaving. He was very friendly and reassuring. My kitties are home now and mending from their surgery. Both are rescue cats and were not happy to be at the vet's nor were they friendly with the staff at all. I appreciate so much the kindness and patience of the staff with my two cats. I know they were a couple of terrors to deal with the day before Halloween. :-) I do highly recommend this Clinic to anyone with cats or dogs that need a competent, very reasonably priced veterinarian for your special pets. This will be our Pet Clinic for at least as long as we reside in downtown Indy.
I have been a patient at these locations for over 2 years never raising an issue and my dog has been seen quite a bit due to an on-going medial issue. I had good experiences with very kind staff until my dog saw Dr. Jessica Squires. After having one follow up conversation with Dr. Squires about my pet and her condition, I have decided to take my business elsewhere. My dog’s issue recently started again and after Dr. Squires explained to me her thoughts, I tried to express my concerns and questions and she never let me finish a thought or complete a sentence. She was very rude to me by interrupting me and talking over me while being condescending any time I tried to speak. Finding this unwarranted behavior towards me shocking and appalling, when I finally was frustrated enough, I said that I did not appreciate her not letting me finish a sentence. She immediately turned it on me being in the wrong. When I said I would take my business elsewhere, she happily saw me go with no hesitation. Having a sick pet who has constantly battled this issue and countless of expensive visits is stressful enough and she was extremely rude with zero compassion and understanding. She asked if she could send my records to my home e-mail and when I asked for it to be e-mailed to my new vet instead, she responded they could not do that (which I know is not true). Very disappointed to say the least.
There is such a vast difference between this intimate, soothing setting versus my most recent experience with FACE clinic. Don't get me wrong, I faithfully go to FACE for vaccinations because they are cheap and this facility does so much for the community. I donate to FACE, but let's be honest, the wait to be seen in a first come first serve basis is excruciating. Monday's visit was 4.5 hours. I wanted my dog's chest mass to be examined, and since they are not a full service clinic, I researched local clinics and found this one. The location is beautiful. The prices are reasonable and the people are one of a kind. I don't remember the last time my was given personal attention as soon as the tech walked in the room. And it wasn't attention to be examined. He was treated like a dog first and a patient second. I happen to lose my debit card this day and the office was great with working around this issue. Needless to say, I will be back as soon as I'm settled in my new . Love this place already.
Mass Ave animal clinic was my vet since 2011, so it truly is disappointing that I'm leaving a negative review. Long story short - if I weren't relocating, I'd be searching for a new vet in Indianapolis. Ultimately, it feels as if the quality of service has declined since they were purchased by City Way a few years ago. (and that could be a simple coincidence) But the staff (there are exceptions) always seem over worked, a tad unpleasant, and scattered. None of which gives me confidence in the care my pets receive. And unfortunately, my final experience with them only furthers my overall negative experience. Test results from January that I needed to present to my new boarder weren't able to be located. Not the end of the world, I was able to get a new sample quickly for testing before flying out the next day. But I'd certainly think again if you're looking for a new vet in Indy. This place seems to be on the decline.
I rarely review places but I felt compelled to immediately write this after just having my first visit here with my dog. By far the best vet experience I have ever had with my pet. The staff was extremely competent and very friendly. Nicki the vet tech was incredible and very thorough. She understood my dogs lifestyle and recommended vaccines that she actually needed and we ruled out many that she did not but was previously being vaccinated for. She even helped me figure out my dogs microchip information so I could switch information. Paying in the exam room rather than out front was an amazing touch. Speaking of paying...did I mention the price?!? I paid close to $100 less than at my last vet but I still received premium care. Five stars isn't enough!!!
I just moved to Indianapolis, so not knowing the area was tough in searching for a vet. I recently adopted a puppy and within a few days I noticed he was experiencing discomfort. I called Mass Ave Animal Clinic and they had an appointment ready in under 24 hours for my little guy. As a new dog owner and new resident of Indy, I don't have the luxury of a huge network/web of expertise with local businesses. The professionalism, responsiveness, and reliability of MAAC in the past week alone is enough for me to keep coming back. Plus, everyone from the doctors to the front desk staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable on the phone and in person. Thank you all for what you do!
Oh my goodness! Second time here. And I’m a forever customer. I have a 1 year old German Shepard… who is rather large. I’m always anxious to take him places because he’s intimidating. This vet takes the time to not only understand why your dog may be fussy or upset, but they work around it. My dog was nervous of the shot he needed, LEAH spent 5 minutes desensitizing him to her and the shot itself before administering a PAIN FREE AND BARK FREE shot!! I’m shocked and equally as impressed. Ps. They even allow “happy visits” for nervous members to come in and meet the staff and play for a few minutes during the day. This helps ease puppy stress! 100/10. Thanks Leah:)
The atmosphere had an A+ vibe, when we first arrived all of the staff present were smiling and cheerful. They noticed we had brought in a whole litter (7) puppies, and they immediately went from just smiling, to kids in a candy shop :-) it was priceless!!! My son and I were treated like friends, not customers, which to me means a lot! Our litter of puppies were treated like gold, which again means a lot! I originally just went in for a wellness check for my litter, which would have cost me a small fortune where we usually take our furloves. However, after the experience we had at this clinic, I am planning future visits with all of our furloves to be seen there.
Had a good experience with the vet, appointment time, etc. However, I placed an order thru chewy for heartworm medicine (pretty standard) and everything fell apart. First they denied the order to chewy, then i asked them to email me the prescription and they said they dont do any online order and I had to be in person to pick a prescription. I used to live in the boonies in Mississippi and the vet was more updated than these guys. So extremely inconvenient if you are not willing to do everything thru them while having to show up repeatedly to their office. We live in the digital age, for this to be a problem.
I just moved to Indy from New Jersey with a kitty with lymphoma. I am already so very happy with the care received at Mass Ave Animal Clinic. We had our first visit this past week, and I felt so put at ease with every member of the team. Dr. Smith was wonderful with Kitty and took the time to answer my many questions and explained all options for care moving forward. The attention to detail in the appointment is noticeable, and the care is compassionate and patient. I felt as though Kitty was treated like a true family member! So happy to have quickly found our new vet home. Thank you, Mass Ave Animal Clinic!
I would like to thank Dr. Bryan DVM and Assistant Justine for their excellent customer service received for my beloved 5 month old TeddyBear Goldendoodle named Willow. I was able to book an appointment online for the very next day. I appreciate the warm welcome I received. This was my puppy's first visit which went extremely well. The Dr. Bryan And assistant Justine made sure all of my questions were answered. The office visit was quick and the next appointment scheduled. Thank you Dr. Bryan and Justine. Look forward to a great future under your veterinarian care. Thank you so very much.
I love this vet office. Since the moment I walked through the door for my first appointment, I've felt that all staff members have the best interest of my dog, Butkus. What has impressed me the most with City Way Animal Clinic is receiving the follow-up emails and hand-written mail from the staff. It really shows they care for their patients. I've had appointments with both Dr. Bryan and Dr. Squiers; both veterinarians were exceptionally helpful! Additionally, all the support staff members were friendly and helpful- Caroline, Leah, Stephanie, and Emily. Thank you, City Way!
We just recently started going to Mass Ave Animal Clinic, when my Golden Retriever Auggie began developing some pretty severe skin allergies and ear infections. Our previous vet was fine, but I wanted somebody with a little more expertise and access to medication. Our visits have been wonderful! From the front desk rep, to the vet tech, and of course the vet herself, everybody is always so helpful and friendly. They are efficient without sacrificing the time to talk to you and hear your concerns. We look forward to many years of care here!
Took my dog here to remove simple stitches in two areas. She had surgery in Ms and needed them removed. She also had inflamed ears from traveling so they (tested) her ears and charged me over $300 for removing stitches and giving her something for her ears. She ended up with stitches remaining and a worse yeast infection all over her body. They charged me over $300 and expected an additional $150 for a follow up that they in fact left stitches in her body and made her have a terrible rash !! Please don’t take your loved one here!
Absolutely had a great experience at the clinic! I took my kitten in for shots and some bloodwork, and they actually found a few things wrong with her that her previous vet had missed entirely. She's on medicine and is seeming quite a bit happier! The facility was very clean and the staff was helpful, polite, and eager to make sure we had a pleasant appointment. They answered all of the questions I had and gave me some advice on how to keep her happy as an indoor cat. I would recommend this place to any pet owner!
I have been going to City Way - Mass Ave for almost 3 years, and I have always had a great experience. I have a very anxious / reactive dog, and the staff has always been so understanding and patient with him. City Way worked with us to figure out how to make my dogs' experience as fearless as possible, and now we use the "chill protocol" (gaba + ace + melatonin) which works very well. I am thankful for the staff at City Way! Special shoutout to Leah and Dr. Kurdziel for their help at our last visit.
Pretty much all you can ask for in a vet - friendly service, knowledgeable staff, reasonable prices, and excellent care. I have used them for almost a year now and am appreciative of Dr. Squires and the staff here whether it be for annual exams, illnesses, or referring me to a specialist. They have even provided me with proper nutrition information to keep my dog healthy and help her lose weight, among other things. Highly recommend and will continue to use them for future vet needs.
We have been very pleased with Mass Ave Animal Clinic. We took our two new kittens, both eight weeks old in 2013 and were very impressed with all the staff. In addition to regularly scheduled visits and shots, we have had two emergency situations where we brought the cats in for evaluation. Doctor Phillips, Doctor Gore, and Doctor VanDeLeest provided exceptional care for our cats and help relieve any anxiety we had at the time. We appreciate the follow-up the staff provide.
Just moved to the area and spent weeks trying to determine where to take my 9-year-old anxiety-ridden dog for a checkup. Finally picked City Way's Mass Ave location, and I'm glad I did. The techs and vet (Dr. Jones) were so friendly, and so patient with my fearful dog. They spent a lot of time just gaining her trust and trying to make the experience less stressful for her. I would 100% recommend this clinic, especially for anyone who has a dog that's fearful of vet visits.
I give this clinic five paws!! I’m new in Indianapolis and was quite nervous to find a veterinarian care team for my felines as the three of them are now senior pets. From reception to veterinarian I felt my animal, and myself, were respected and cared for. They were happy to answer my questions, explain their reasoning, and have taken excellent care of my cat thus far. I’d recommend Mass Ave animal clinic to anyone in the area looking for prompt and excellent care.
The people were extremely happy and nice they offered me drinks and handled my dog quickly and Efficiently. They answered all my questions about everything I had about my dog. The place was very clean. They are a little on the pricey side of things but pets can be that way sometimes. Overall I was very pleased with my experience and will be taking my dog back again. Thanks mass ave animal clinic you truly are great people.
At 13 years old my dog is in the twilight of his life. We visited City Way Animal Clinic - Mass Ave for a second opinion on a recent diagnosis and we have never received such wonderful care, compassion or genuine empathy at any clinic we've visited previously. I'd like to thank Dr. Smith, who was knowledgeable, thorough, attentive and honest, as well as the staff members who were there before, during and after our visit.
I brought my sick, little kitty, Benny, to see Dr. Squires today. We had the most amazing experience. The service was excellent from everyone, especially Dr. Jessica Squires. She was so kind, helpful and sweet with my newly adopted kitten. He already is doing better. Everyone, if your little furball, bundle of joy needs help, take he or she to see Dr. Squires and the entire staff at City Way Mass Av. Animal clinic!!❤️
We will always be grateful to Dr. Squires, her assistant Leah and the entire staff of City Way Mass Ave. Their love of animals shows. Having recently relocated to downtown Indy, we came to the them to provide palliative care while treating our 15 yo Westie. They helped improve her quality of life, while offering us understanding, compassion and empathy. Thank you for treating her with the best of care and love.
I am always pleased with my experience at Mass Ave, they are very caring and I feel comfortable leaving my pup with them. Check-ups are quick, and they are always welcome to give me advice as this is my first puppy. Sometimes I call in with concerns and they are very friendly and helpful. I am very glad I found Mass Ave. and will continue to use their services. Highly recommend!
I just rescued my dog a little over a week ago, and took him to Mass Ave Animal Clinic to get checked out/caught up on vaccines. They were very friendly, prompt and helpful. I had quite a few questions, and they answered realistically. I could tell they truly care about my dog! While I don't have much experience taking dogs to the vet, I thought the price was very reasonable.
I had a week to travel internationally with my dog. Lucinda and the vet team made sure that I knew all of the requirements and paperwork I needed in order for it to work. They worked w me even after I had to have a friend bring my dog to their appt. They also expedited the USDA health form on my behalf. Would recommend to take care of your pet as if it was their own.
Would give them 10 stars if I could. I love this vet so much! It’s right in my neighborhood and they always treat my pets with so much love and respect! I always know I’m going to get knowledgeable and straight to the point answers and the prices are fair. Every doctor and nurse are professional and well trained for the job! Recommend this place to everyone I know.
Very impressed by this clinic. The staff is friendly, thorough, and welcoming. The service feels very personalized. I even received a hand-addressed, hand-written card (by the vet herself) welcoming my cats to the practice. Also very accommodating for all types of schedules. I am very pleased and will be going to this practice as long as I live in the Indy area!
Sweetest staff and Dr. Bryan is phenomenal! They reassure you when things are tough with your fur babies, and Dr Bryan is so well spoken, well educated, and is great at educating you on the best plan of action for whatever issue you come in with. Also yes, they do have limited free parking even though they’re on mass ave
The staff are super friendly, and really understanding. They call and even follow up if your pet has had a sick visit recently to see if you have any questions or concerns. Overall great experience with the staff, facility, and level of care. Really reasonable price, too, for the level of care and service they provide.
My pets usually see the vet at the Mass Ave Animal Clinic but do go between Fall Creek and Mass Ave depending on appointment availability. Everyone on the staff are wonderful with our dogs and cat. They are always friendly and cheerful. Their care is consistently exceptional, no matter which vet or assistant we see.
The staff here is truly amazing! I just moved to Indy and brought my new kitten and they were so kind and caring, it even seemed like they loved my pet the way that I do. The place is also so clean and not overcrowded! This place takes the stress out of bringing a pet to the vet. Thanks, Mass Ave Animal Clinic!
Each individual I met on my first visit to the clinic showed that they deeply care about the animals and owners who come in. I had great conversations about my cat's health. When Blue was feeling pukey, Dr. Squires took plenty of time to make sure his issue wasn't serious. Now Blue isn't so blue!
Recently re-located to Downtown Indy and was in search of a new vet. A friend recommended City Way and we couldn't be happier! You can tell the staff really care for the animals and are invested in their well-being. It is a little on the expensive side, but well worth it for our Stella's health!
The staff were very caring and loved on my pup before starting the exam. It was our first visit there for an annual check up and vaccines and we were in and out in less than 40 minutes. They called and sent emails the day after to make sure our pup did okay with her shots. Definitely recommend!
We’ve been taking our dogs to the Mass Ave and Fountain Square Clinics since we moved to the area 4 years ago. Our Australian Shepherd had to have elbow surgery up at Purdue this summer. Dr. Squires was fantastic through the whole diagnosis and follow up. I felt like we were in the best hands.
We were able to get in quickly for an emergency and even though our dear boy had to leave us, City Way associates were so kind, sympathetic, and amazing. Our other boy Jack is now a regular and we are extremely appreciative of the care and attention their employees have with our pets.
5 paws! I rescued 2 lovely girls from the Cat Cafe' and chose Mass Ave Animal Clinic for location, but could not be happier. I am 67 and my girls (Isis and Neferitiri) are my grandchildren. The staff understands and does not mind me being quirky. I highly recommend them!
I created an appointment 16 hours before the appointment time. I could no longer make the appointment and I lost my deposit of $50 because i didn’t cancel with 24 hours notice. I was not told this when i made the deposit. I will never go back here.
Best place ever. Not only they are incredibly professional but you can see they really care for the animals, including sending a follow up message to make sure the visit went well and treatment is working. Flynn loves this place. Highly recommend
We love Mass Ave Animal Clinic! All the staff are friendly and welcoming. We can always get appointments that work with my difficult schedule and on short notice. I appreciate their specialized bulldog knowledge. They do a great job with Chubby!
Very caring and attentive staff! I have an elderly cat and 6 month old puppy. With multiple locations, I know if an emergency arises I can get an appointment. Being a new dog owner, I has a lot of what I would consider ‘silly’ questions.
When we moved downtown a year and a half ago, I'm so glad we picked the Mass Ave Animal Clinic! It's always a chore taking my cat to the vet because she freaks out and isn't so nice to other people. They make us feel like we're the only
Absolutely fantastic, caring, thoughtful and considerate staff!!!! They helped me through the late stages of my last dog with amazing care and now it's a joy to bring my new pup there. This is the most prompt, professional, clean and
I adopted my first dog by myself a couple weeks ago. My family vet is in Monrovia and since I live in Broad Ripple, I had to find a clinic closer to me. I did a bunch of research and decided to take my girl to MAAC for her first vet
Thank You for taking care of my Brother and Sister-In-Law with their sweet Tippy. It's NEVER easy to say goodbye, but you (City Way Animal Clinic) helped make the heartwrenching decision more peaceful. Thank You for your kindness.
I do not trust mass ave animal clinic with the care of our dog. We took her in for a simple round of shots and she was sent home without any anti-inflammatory medication despite having received it in the past.
All the doctors and staff definitely take the time to take care of my cats. Even when working here they give the time and care my kiddos deserve. Great place to work and have care for my fur babies.
I am a new dog mom/owner. I felt very comfortable and supported. My multitude of questions were answered in a friendly manner. The doctor was awesome. Thank you for a great experience!
This place is a great vet clinic. I've taken my dog here since she was a puppy. They provide excellent care and maintain all her records. The group also has a groomer down the street.
This was my first time there. I'm new to having a cat indoors. They were all wonderful and very nice and helpful in explaining how this works. Will take my baby back to them.
This clinic is full of incredibly talented and kind people who really care about animals. We take our English Bulldog to this vet and they’ve consistently given him A+ care.
An amazing staff with fantastic service! Would recommend this place to anyone looking for quality care. Took such good care of our senior kitty.
We love Mass Ave! We've been coming here with our dogs since they opened. The staff is amazing and I know our pets are in good hands.
I had an amazing experience bringing my dog blue here and will absolutely be back. Everyone was so nice and knowledgeable.
I brought my dog Grogu here for an exam plus his shots. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
The techs are so kind and knowledgeable. Dr. Kurdziel is amazing!
Top-notch care. So friendly and quick to get medicine refilled.
