Not worth one star.We noticed that Bandit our 4 1/3 year old indoor only Male cat was having trouble urinating & was leaking urine at times. On Fri Nov.26 he would not get out of his bed.Upon touching his belly he cried out in pain. O Sat.Nov.27 we made an appointment to have him checked out.We described symptoms to the"vet" .He was more concerned about not having current rabies shot, telling us that indoor cats can contract rabies because it is airborne, just like covid.Should have left then. After the exam we were told that Bandits bladder was blocked. He said with draining the bladder and putting in a catheter and medication we could correct the issue. We were told that this could reacure in later life.We asked about putting Bandit down.He was totally against it,assuring us that treatment would work.We agreed to the procedure. We returned Mon.29th to remove the catheter. Told the "vet" that Bandit had not urinated yet.He removed the catheter and drained his bladder again. He showed no concern at this point.By Wed.Dec.1 Bandit was in worse condition .At this point we contacted another Vet and explained issues. They told us to get him to emergency immediately (They also said the survival rate was very low).We called the emergency Vet and were told to get Bandit in immediately. After examination we were told there was a very low recovery rate.At this time Bandits bladder was ready to explode. His other organs were failing. We then put Bandit down.We took away his pain and suffering. The Casselman"vet" made the right diagnosis but the treatment was totally wrong. (3 other Vets agree)I blame him for the extra days that Bandit suffered. I do not blame Casselman"vet"for Bandits death, other Vets said that he would not have lived no matter the treatment. Sorry for the long post, but it had to be said.I would not trust this"vet" with my pet rock.
I took my cat here back in I believe it was November of 2014. My baby received the best quality service for a great affordable price. My baby had a bladder infection, and I had called several vet clinic's for their prices of services and Clairview Casselman was the only one with the most affordable price to come I'm to have the vet look my cat over. My cat received a urinalysis which was $52 dollars. My cat was easily diagnosed after the urinalysis and we were given pain medication for 4 days and 2 weeks worth of antibiotics for $34 dollars which is very reasonable considering everywhere else would have charge through the yin yang. I was also provided with information for recommended pet insurance companies, along with food recommendations to help prevent future bladder infections and they also provided me with information on lifestyle changes for my baby to keep him healthy. You guys were amazing and they had two pit bulls in their kennels and they were excited to see my baby ( cat) but my cat wasn't impressed with them and after the vet took urine I was instructed that I can bring my cat back to the room where we had him in. Only to get to the door and my baby peed on my he was so scared of the dogs lol but it was a relief for me because my cat had difficulties emptying his bladder completely. Funny experience and amazing experience.
The worst vet experience I have ever had. The only reason I had ever come here is because it's close to my home. Staff turnover is pretty high for this place, their computer hardware/software is very obviously out of date because it takes forever to put the transaction through their system. The prices are not as affordable for the average 1-2 income household as they advertise. I was quoted $180 to get my two cats examined and have their vaccines up to date, when I went to pay they told me I owed $340!!! Then after I declined the de-wormer (which was not necessary prior to or after this visit), the price dropped down to $260. When I mentioned (again) the price I was originally quoted, thankfully they honored it. The doctor their always tries to recommend tests/treatments that aren't always necessary as well. Long story short, go to a vet that is actually affordable and up to date with their hardware/software and has staff that has been their for a while. It's painfully clear that there is communication issues at this location and I would not go to this vet again unless it was absolutely necessary! The only reason I rated one star is because the ladies that work the front desk are always super nice to myself and my pets.
Absolutely deplorable… I’d give this place zero stars if I could. I went here because it was close to my place, but never again will me or my dogs step foot in there. Not only does the vet charge more than $300 JUST for a measly check up a lot of the time, but every time I go there the doctor condescendingly tells me to find a “real job” so I can afford to pay for some anti-anxiety lessons for one of my dogs. To me, that translates to “I don’t know how to actually handle nervous canines” like vets are supposed to… Because said dog doesn’t even have an anxiety disorder. Trust me, I found an affordable behaviourist who analyzed him… He just gets nervous at the vet - as most dogs do. The only saving grace for this clinic are the receptionists and vet assistants, who are the sweetest people who always try to accommodate for clients. One girl even assured me that her dog was the same when he came to the clinic, which was really sweet, but I’m sad that she felt the need to do that in the first place because of what the vet says. tl;dr avoid this place like the plague unless you’re okay with a rude doctor and needlessly expensive bills.
Noodles, was one of the first things I grabbed when we recently had to flee our city. He has been part of our family for the past 16 years. Noodles had some tests done at my usual veterinary in Fort McMurray but the day I was supposed to get the results, was the day we were evacuated. Long story short, I end up at the Clareview Casselman clinic and was pleasantly surprised. The clinic was never overly busy, so we never had to wait for hours. The doctor was spot on with his diagnosis and Noodles received the best treatment ever. Not only were they (all staff) very compassionate with our circumstance, Dr. Koshy was genuinely interested and concerned for our pet's health. There service charges was very reasonable. Noodles received his first treatment and Dr. Koshy followed his excellent service with a home call to inquirer about his progress. When we could move back to Fort McMurray, he again follow up with a call. He also ensured us that the medical records will be forwarded to our veterinarian clinic in our home town. I can honestly recommend this clinic.
Had such a terrible experience. Lost my cat due to misdiagnosis. Found the staff to be completely unprofessional, lying to clients that apparently they said this and that...sent us home with improper medication. Insulting my mother, my family over social media. Your assistant took notes while I listed off events that had affected my cat, litter box being change, the Christmas tree going up with decorations which we found an ornament all matted up and the string of lights damaged. It's not my job to tell you to do yours. From the first exam it was because of stress, to the second exam now my cat is anemic. This assistant who is replying to the previous reviewer (My sister) is commenting as if she was in the room for the entire discussion between the vets and my family. When has an assistant ever stayed in the room while the vet was checking out the patient unless asked to. Just want an apology for our lost but this clinic is not even able to take responsibility for lack of knowledge and professionalism or even sympathy.
If I could give 0 stars I would. They sent my cat home with a severe blockage saying that there was nothing wrong with him. They also sent him home with an open catheter (no bag) for 24hours. He now has a severe infection from that. They are charging extra for families to be in the room during the euthanasia process when it is highly encouraged for families to stay with the pet for comfort. $90 to abandon my cat there to pass by himself or $170 to be able to pass with his loved ones by his side. They’re also charging well over double (320) what most other vets are charging for the cremation and the return of ashes, and that’s without an urn. I would go else where if you’re having to say goodbye to your fur baby, this establishment is incredibly unethical and absolutely seem like they are in it for the cheque rather than the well fair of your pets. I’ve spoken with 3 other vets in the last 3 hours and all have said that is incredibly poor and unethical practice, the tech here at guardian is appalled as am I.
Absolutely terrible. They were more interested in money than actually treating my cat. I took my cat in with what turned out to be a severe diabetic episode. The vet did not even look at him for hours. I was told that they would call about him right away, but waited 5 hours to be told he hasn't been looked at. After spending about $2k, only to take him home and look after him myself; the vet recommended a dosage of insulin that was way too high. Had I not looked up how to prevent extremely low blood sugar (honey to the gums), my cat would either be brain damaged or dead. The vet couldn't even remember the gender of the cat when talking to me. I really would recommend you take your pets anywhere but here. They didn't have any concern about the seriousness of the illness, as was evidenced by me having to prod and call often to find out the status of my pet.
Wife took our puppy just to get something to go with his food. we simply went because our new puppy had the runs and wanted to make sure he was ok. Vet said everything looked good and suddenly said "okay he seems healthy, we do blood now" and whisked him away without another word. After we hear him screaming, he comes out with his arm DRENCHED in blood. Vet basically bullied her and took him in for bloodwork that she did not want and then our puppy came back bleeding. Vet did not answer her questions at all and when she complained he threatened legal action if she didn't pay the full price he wanted to charge. Do not come here. This vet does not care about the well-being of animals, only about making money.
Took our Dog in with a simple eye infection. Came out with a 333$ bill. 3 eye examination were done at 50$ a piece. with the look of the dogs eye and some expertise only one test should have been needed the Oscular Fluorescein test. We were then prescribed claveseptin and Tobrex eye drops. Two antibiotics is really uneccesary. The vet is only in it for the money. When I returned to confront him about the appointment he couldn't even come up with a good reason why all three tests and two antibiotics were needed. Maybe the clinic has better vets but I would avoid Dr Georgekutty Kavunkai. We regret not doing our homework looks like this is a common case at this clinic from Google and Facebook reviews.
Came here today to get our cat examined. She needed x-rays and pain medicine. We found out through x-rays that her leg is broken. We never been here before. The nurses were amazing. Very knowledgeable very careful with our cat. Our cat was outside yesterday the whole day and came back at close to 1:00 am this morning and a neighbor from downstairs was coming home & said our cat is hurt and is trying to jump onto our balcony to get in. So I went to get her & she was limping down the hall. She wouldn't eat drink nothing. She finally started eating a bit after we got home. Were happy to know what has to be done next and thankful for the services that were provided .
Took my cat in a few weeks ago she had been hit by a car. Vet took xrays and said she had a broken hip and i should take her home to recover it would take 45 days. She had 2 seizures that night and passed away. Vet was more concerned about money then my cats well being never once recommended putting her down for her injuries. This isn't the first time hes done this to me regarding a cat either. Last yr my male cat was severely sick he looked him over and said he was diabetic and gave me meds that night i had to rush him to emergency to be put down. Save your money go to a vet who truly cares about your animals well being and not how deep your pocket book is.
If I could give no stars I would!!! I took my cat here on Wednesday with a uti he said he would have to be sedated to put a catheter in as he was blocked, got a call a few hours later they couldn't get the catheter in and he used a needle told me the blockage was out and we picked up our cat with his meds, took him home he was so messed up and all over the place couldn't walk constantly crying eating very little drinking a little as well so I called the vet again on friday and they told me this is all normal and it's the meds! Well today we lost our fur baby he was only 4 years old!!!! This makes me so mad!
I had been taking my cat here for a few years, they saved my fur baby about 4 years ago from a bowel obstruction, I was so grateful. They also helped my cat with with other issues. Sadly, my 15&1/2 yr old cat suffered from a urinary blockage over the long w/e, and ultimately had to be euthanized. The vet & staff are professional and caring. I highly recommend this clinic. Some people like to complain about fees at any vet but it is a business with huge overhead costs, and no one works for free. This clinic is more than fair in their fees. Thank you for your true compassion & care.
I had a Vet emergency with my Pup with no immediate appointment after I had called a few places. When I called Casselman I was very pleased to speak with Mya, who was able to assure me my pup would be okay and that they would be able to see me in the office in one hour. The office was easy to find, just off of 50st north of the Police Station And Hospital. The office was clean all necessary covid protocols were in place. The visit didn't take long, the issue was addressed and my dog didn't have any signs of stress we left with a prescription and she is now fine :) Fae-Lynn
I had taken my cat in a few months ago because she had the runs. The clinic was clean and organized. The team looked at my cat and did an overall exam, my cat was fine, I had just changed food and her body didn't like that. The vet and I both came to this conclusion but he did send in bloodwork to make sure ( which made me feel good). Going to see the vet is always expensive but what I was charged was understandable. Also, the VOA was quick to move the walk-in dog away from my cat so she was stree free. I am considering moving my animal over to this location.
I brought both my cats here for spay. I was thoroughly impressed by the staffs enthusiasm and how friendly and helpful they were. We have brought them back for check ups and the staff is always kind and ensure their patients get in on time. You really get to see how much these people love, care and just want the best for the animals. On a side not; their prices are very reasonable which is a bonus. Thank you Dr.Koshy and the Clareview Cassleman Pet Clinic staff!
This is such a great pet veterinary clinic! Honestly, they are so welcoming , non judgemental, just all around great. I have two dogs that go there, and they take the time to hear your concerns and advise you on the best action to take. Even better, the price! I always expect the most cost and just to become broke. But they let you know how much everything costs and break everything down for you. I truly recommend going there, for great service and value.
For the city of Edmonton this place is very fair priced. The vet here could definitely be a bit more people friendly but he is quite good with the animals. Also these guys are trustable too. Business aspect of things they could run a little more like a business...and be more fair to customers who have been going to them for 5 years. Other than thatbits a great clinic!
This isn't our regular vet as we just moved to the area however we received coupons for free dog food and $$ off from our vet as part of our puppy pack. Our regular vet is about an hour and 20 mins out of town so I called Clareview Casselman Pet Clinic to see if they would honour the coupons- and they did!!! Very happy with the customer service received. Thank you! :)
I recently moved to Edmonton and moved to the area where this clinic was. On short notice (less than a week) I was able to get an appointment for my pet. The staff were excellent, able to offer any assistance needed. I would definitely go back. I read other comments about the pricing, and it was extremely comparable to other vets I've gone to in southern Alberta.
I have been bringing my golden retriever to Clareview Casselman Pet Clinic since she was a puppy and now she is almost 2yrs old. I have always had a good experience here, Dr. Koshy is very good with her and I feel she always gets a thorough exam. Any questions I have are always addressed. The staff is always kind and friendly and very helpful.
As what would have been a new client, I'd give negative stars. Physically went in and made an appointment. Went in for the time the appointment was booked for, and it wasn't booked. If they are so inept that they can't even book an appointment right or keep an appointment, I shurly wouldn't trust them to see my dog. I'll find a vet that can.
I found this clinic in a moment of distress, when my cat had a health emergency. I was helped ASAP and assured about my cat's health after ran tests. Dr Kavunkal Georgekutty became her vet from then on and took a great care of her. He deeply cares about and knows pets. I would highly recommend this clinic.
My cat is never afraid when he sees where he's going and is always the same happy cat when he leaves. That tells me he's not worried and wasn't hurt during his visit. The front staff are very friendly and always happy to see Murray (my cat). Exceptional friendly service and very reasonable prices
Dr. Georgekutty is an amazing, compassionate and generous vet. He gave many consultations pro bono and helped us with the care of our beloved cat, Selma. His assistant, Maya, was a great support and showed a great deal of empathy. We were so glad to find this clinic in our neighborhood.
My cat had a problem with their lips being swollen and it had been a slow month for us at work and I had no money and they still took her in and treated her and give her medications great staff great attention to detail and care about our little lovey animal thank you very much!!!
Wonderful staff and vets. I took two of my fosters in due to suspected upper resp infections, the doctor was knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable and he knew exactly what was wrong; gave them antibiotics and within a few days they were fine! Highly recommend!
In response to the young man whom has decided to post a bad review earlier today because he felt he shouldn't have to pay a vet exam fee for coming to the vets, posting that the staff is a zero is hilarious, because most clients love us and
I have nothing but GREAT things to say about this clinic!! Highly recommended to anyone no matter where you live. We have a 6 year old dalmation cross who had a SEVERE uterine infection, left untreated, it is life threatening condition. The
Horrible. Took out 14 week old puppy in a back room to do the exam behind closed doors. After hearing yelps and cries I yelled stop through the door and found out they were trying to muzzle her. I find it disgusting that anyone would try to
Recently my cat Chester became very ill. I took him to another clinic where they were very harsh with me and wanted to charge almost $500 just to have him put down and cremated... I took him to Cassleman and the staff were fantastic. They
I came here with my friend and her 7 week old puppy. She had gotten him at 7 pm the day before and he had a little bit of diarrhea and vomitted two times and when the vet was told that he assumed that this puppy had parvo and didnt ask to
I brought my dog there as he had an infected eye off the bat I felt like I was being rushed. The doctor wanted to perform three tests but didn’t actually take the time to ask me any questions or explain it well. He performed the pressure
Took a chance on this vet since it was close to my home. Really wish I didn't. Not satisfied with the appointment. I went there because there were so many 5 star reviews, so I figured I should try it. I'm wondering if maybe the staff has
I'm late with my thoughts on the," Best in the West Veterinarian Clinic" ! .....There are many of them here so finding the right one has been challenging! Most of the Clinics I've visited are extremely COLD," move 'em up and move 'em
Dr. Koshy is by far the best Vet who has provided an outstanding service to our puppies. The office staff are very polite and amazing with our fur babies. I strongly recommend this clinic and mostly Dr. Koshy to anyone who is looking
The Front Desk Staff are always a pleasure to speak with. I found the veterinary hard to understand. I would suggest asking a lot of questions and ask why a test is being done before agreeing to it. Everyone was nice.
Hoping they reopen. Always brought my chihuahua here and they were good with her. Dr. Georgekutty is very gentle with her which I always appreciated. The assistants are always great as well.
Fantastic place to bring your pets. Super caring staff and Dr. That will always keep your pets best interests at heart. Very friendly staff.
