Three Attempts at a bumper Respray : Attempt 1 I had to use Clark and Kent as they were one of the very few for my brand of car. I had made booking and dropped of my car on a Monday with hopes of collecting on Friday. After following my was only ready on Saturday, and when I arrived at their gloomy poorly lit up area to collect, I noted that my bumper was silver but the rest of car was grey. I was fed some story about how they forgot to put "clear paint" and that is the reason for the wrong colour. So I left the car behind Attempt 2 The guys had now remember to add clear into the mix and so my bumper and fender sort of matched in colour - the area to collect the car is so badly lit up so I couldn't be 100% certain. What i did find was little holes in the paint work and rough patches. Also my head lamp washes were jammed. The operations managed pleaded with me to allow him to rectify. Seeing a mature adult in this state, I allow my car to be left once again. Attempt 3 I brought flash lights with me with because the lightening system is so poor and the bumper had many flaws but I lost hope and signed for the car - which only has a 3 year warranty on paint, unlike the other shops which offer a lifetime. When getting home, an wiping the car down with a detailer, here's what I found: holes, little lumps of paint, the number wasn't removed during the paint process so there was evidence of that and over sprays, the under side of my bumper wasn't painted as well. over sprays ran into the corner of my head lights and I personally cleaned the head light washer so that they didn't jam because of the over spray and polish. I made contact with the GM via email, in summary I was told to bring back the car and he would try to rectify. The couldn't give me any assurances that the work would be done correctly and also told me that this is the norm in the industry - 4 times to spray a bumper? Eventually I had asked the GM, that if he couldn't give me any assurances, could he please find me or get me another member of management who could assure me that the work can be done correctly - he didn't. Lastly the passenger side of my vehicle was dirty and has finger marks all over the dash board on the passenger side. The electric seats were also adjusted based on the fingers marks (on the passenger side not drives side. This can be forgiven though, because my cars interior lightening could be more affective than the workshops lighting. I'm not sure why my treatment is like this but I had no vehicle for 3 weeks and my car looks worse after the visiting this panel shop. The Value of my car has now dropped because of this really bad workmanship.
I had 2 x vehicles in their workshop. I had to inspect the first 4x before I was satisfied with the workmanship. Everytime I was asked to come back, the same faults were not rectified. There was zero QC. I lost a month of productivity as a result which costs exceeded the cost of repair. The second vehicle was my personal vehicle which is still in their workshop for 1mo now. The job is to paint and install a sports bar/spoiler. It is beyond comprehension that this minor job would take this period of time. But the challenge with this job preceeds that. Firstly they failed to quote for supply and install. I suspect they were too lazy to price the parts. I subsequently bought the part and asked them to quote for install only. Their quote was 3x higher than a competitor. They accused the competitor of using sub standard material and poor workmanship. They further advised that the said competitor only maintained their oem and insurer approvals by bribery and corruption. I trusted them with my vehicle, based on good previous experience, only to be lied to and deceived. I sent the part and paint match in to prep, a week before. It is, under normal circumstances, a one day job to install once the prep is done. Been a personal vehicle I asked to inspect the prep at every step and found faults which I asked to he rectified. Every fault was a challenge to rectify. I would go back everyday to see the same fault. I was better at QC than their in-house QC. I needed the vehicle to travel long distance and was promised it in time only to be lied to over and over again. I have since made 3x long distance trips with a borrowed vehicle. I have paid for this job in full without discount or compensation and I was never offered a courtesy vehicle for my inconvenience. Another competitor whom I always use would've offered me his personalvehicle to travel long distance. Not withstanding the above. The owner manager sends a message for me to call him to lodge a complaint which his clerk delivered on my behalf. What happen to customer care?
i took in my silver grey car in for a door & bumper repair.Received it back with work half done,paintwork done was & still is 2 tone (grey & white) as if i had washed the car with a strong chemical.My car had missing parts in areas where "no work" was done.It received a wash but the first thing i said when i jumped in was that i need to take it to the car wash. These missing part/s i refer to were fitted back in when i went back to complain (wonder why they kept it in the first place) .My windows were no longer functional after they took in my vehicle (The first time in 3 years). I have gone back to this place more than 3 times spending time waiting for them to "fix" the problems but every time i pick up something.Yesterday i picked up another part is missing and i am so fed up with this place i will no longer go back to ask how and why and when.I work for a large company my circle of influence is wide.I will NOT recommend anyone to bring their car into this place.I have seen posters of past achievements in your offices and i want to tell you that from the experience i had with you guys the standards have dropped and i may be a 1 nobody to you but know that this is not a way to treat CUSTOMERS.Very dissapointed and dont wish my experience upon anyone else.
Car had slight scratches from rolling Privately I had a quote of 15k .Clark And Kent Quoted 36k for my back lights, bumper ,labour and Paint . Paint was the highest cost but they didnt even respray the body. Vehicle was in worshop for those slight repairs over 30 days , my vehicle car hire even came to an end but it didn't bother them. Someone's running a racket with quotes and bluffing the Insurance company. Manager was helpful and was apologetic . As a female I was taken for a ride . They broke my bumper and didn't fit it well , inturn my radiator got damaged. Now my vehicle is at mechanic being sorted and they got paid. 1st time i had such a terrible experience at a supposedly renowned Panelbeater . With 125 years in business you would think that they will be more professional and have competent worshop staff
Thank you to Darren and Tanya. So far we are very happy with the service we received. An assessor came out to us the following day after we called them. When the car went into the shop they were patient for our claim to be finalised and started work on our car immediately once approved. Special thank you to Darren for always being honest and realistic regarding our car and because of this we trusted him to look after our vehicle and ensure it was being repaired correctly. Darren also arranged transport for us which was convenient. The work on the car was very good. Looks brand new. I highly recommend Clark and Kent.
2nd time i took my car to clark and kent. This time to replace a damaged front bumper and dented door. Also, 2nd time dealing with Riaz from clark and kent. All round, service is exceptional from admin to workshop. Riaz attended to all my queries and kept me updated on the progress. Picked up my car today and it looked brand new. Honestly, it was beyond my expectations. My first experience with this business was also great and i was very pleased with the work done. Highly recommend these guys as they are professional. Personally, i wouldnt take my car anywhere else.
I decided on Clark and Kent to repair my 1 year old mustang because of their heritage. It was the biggest mistake of my life whatever heritage they had is long gone. They took every shortcut possible. They used tape to my badges back. The car came back covered in scratches and the worst repair job I have ever seen. STAY AWAY if you feel anything for your vehicle. They did offer to fix it properly but after waiting for over 2 months and after what I had seen from them I didn't want my car anywhere near them again. No matter what brand you own stay away.
I visited Clark & Kent this morning to have some damage evaluated on my vehicle. Wow! What a pleasant experience to receive such good service from the kind gentleman that greeted me on arrival and showed me where to park, to the receptionist who attended to me immediately and to the service consultant, Riaz, who pulled my paperwork and attended to my vehicle within minutes. The process was quick and efficient. The store was spotlessly clean, well sign posted and very comfortable for a female on her own. Well done to the Clark & Kent team.
After experiencing a small bumper bash my insurance company gave me a choice of panel beaters located closest to where I reside. After some research, I chose Clark and Kent, and what a good choice that was. From start to finish I was treated with professionalism and friendliness by Nonto, she kept me updated regularly on the progress of my car and ensured the car was ready for collection on the day and time she advised. The workmanship is top-notch. Clark and Kent are highly recommended.

The worst experience that I have ever had with a panel beater. job didn't get done correctly first time round and waiting now 2 months for them to arrange a loan car so my car can get sorted out. Always have to call them to find out if a car is available. Their customer service is pathetic.
Exceptional service! constant communiucation to keep me updated with a work vehicle that was in for repairs. A courtesy car was sent to us on a late request form us. Vehicle was then driven to our offices once the work was complete. 11 out of 10. Couldnt recommend them more highly
My wifes vehicle was given in for repairs two weeks ago?? She was promised the she could have the vehicle on Thursday last week,? Today she phoned and she was told that the vehicle is in the paint shop and they can't promise when it will be ready??
My car was fixed quite well, but the miscommunication between my insurance and Clark and Kent left me with the inconvenience of incomplete job that had to be finished a week later. But other than that, quite reputable and professional. Good work.
I have used their services three times over the years and always had delay after delay after the approximated repair date. My boot was not put back on straight and there is a part missing that was not installed on the fuel cap.
Love the setup. Very professional. Gent that done the assessment was professional and took me through the work shop to show the processes. workshop is spotless. really impressed me. does not look like the typical setup.
Place opens at 07h00 but staff were on the premises from before half 6. I was allowed to park my vehicle inside the premises, security very polite. Was offered coffee as well. Very well received hospitality.
